OracleOraHome90Agent

i want to start Enterprise Manager Configuration Assistant, before that i want to start OracleOraHome90Agent Service. when i start this service, i received the error message :could not start the OracleOraHome90Agent service on local computer.
The service did not return an error. This could be internal Windows error or an internal service error.If the problem persists, contact your system administrator.

Please ignore my previous post. Re-Installed the Intelligent Agent and it seems to be working fine now.

Oracle9i HTTP server no longer works now AS 9i v1.0.2.2.2a is installed

Hi there,
I am trying to set up an Oracle system without much success.
I managed to install the Enterprise Oracle9i database no
problems and the HTTP apache server was working fine using
ports 8080 and 4444.
I then tried to install the Oracle9i Application server v1.0.2.2.2a
(core). The HTTP apache server for this is set for ports 80 and 443.
This second Apache server works great but the first one no longer
works.
Having looked at the services running it appears that OracleOraHome90Agent
and OracleOraHome90HTTPServer are no longer running even though they
are set to automatic. When I try and run them I get the following errors:
OracleOraHome90Agent : Service could not be started. Error 2140: An internal
window NT error occurred.
OracleOraHome90HTTPServer : Could not start the service. Error 1067 - the
process terminated unexpectedly.
I then went to c:\oracle\ora90\Apache\Apache in MSDOS and typed apache. I
received the following:
[Thu May 02 16:11:16 2002] [warn] pid file c:/oracle/ora90/apache/apache/logs\httpd.pid
overwritten - - Unclean shutdown of previous Apache run? Apache.pm version 1.26
required! c:/oracle/isuites/apache/perl/site/5.0053/lib/apache.pm is version 1.27.
Perhaps you forgot to 'make install' or need to unistall an old version?
Found c:/oracle/isuites/apache/perl/site/5.0053/lib/apache.pm
Not quite sure what is happening as there is an apache.pm located at
c:/oracle/ora90/apache/perl/site/5.0053/lib/apache.pm which is version 1.26 so I can't
see why the database should be pointing to the version in the application server.

A Golden rule , at all times you must ONLY ONE web server on the machine , when installing Oracle Engine deselect the Apache and install it with the App. Server ( better ) ,, if you are using Windows platform you must first uninstall IIS and if Linux use the pre-installed with linux , HTTP users port 80 and ports are not sharable.

Oracle9i ver1 installation?

Hi,
I installed 9i ver1, for some testing, on my laptop. The installation seamed went through but the agent (OracleOraHome90Agent) did not start automatically even after rebooting.Agent service is set to "Automatic" but does not start and even I cannot start it manually. Following that, I cannot login in OEM as well.
Anything wrong with installation?

I set virtual memory to 1000MB and assigned a static IP to my laptop but no success for starting Agent.
Here is what I got in log file OracleOraHome90Agent.nohup :
Service name is OracleOraHome90Agent
Failed while initializing Comm service
Error initializing subsystems
Agent exited on 10/26/2006 12:12 with return value 55
Could not start agent. Initialization failure
Agent startup failed. Check C:\oracle\ora90\network\log\OracleOraHome90Agent.nohup for details

Oracle Home Agent service won't start

OracleOraHome90Agent service won't start on Win XP Home Edition. Was working fine. Installed Sun Webserver 6.1 and started facing problems. So uninstalled webserver and even then the Oracle Home Agent service starts and stop immediately. the oracle database service and the listener starts without any issues. Any help appreciated.

XP Home Edition is not certified for Oracle9i Database but according to the information given by you, that service was functioning well. Perhaps the new software that you installed is consuming a lot of resources regarding the virtual memory of the machine and maybe for that the services is not starting.
I recommend you to increase the virtual memory of your machine and try again.

Db doesn't start anymore

After using the MS Oracle Dataprovider and having a lot of troubles, I installed ODP and everything works perfect.
I decided to install ODP on my Server too, but then the db would not start anymore! The Event Viewer shows a problem with the OracleOraHome90Agent: Agent process exited abnormally during initialization.
Can anyone help?

I believe, you installed ODP.NET in a previous Oracle Home. Oracle 9i Rel2 client is being bundled with ODP.NET as ODP.NET requires it on the client side. If you installed ODP.NET in a previous existing Oracle Home, some of the earlier DLLs might have been overwritten by Oracle 9i Rel2 Client DLLs. That's the reason we strongly recommend to install ODP.NET either in a new Oracle Home or a 9i Rel2 Oracle Home. You can use Oracle Home Selector to switch between different Oracle Homes.
