OracleVM 3.1.1 - VMs are in Offline status?

Hi, today my cluster went down because of network device failure. When I repaired network, some of my VMs are in status "Offline" and I cannot get them back to Stopped or Running. How I can fix this?

It's ok now. First I tried to run machines, but I got an error saying that my cluster is down even it's up(some VMs are running). After about 30mins, I tried to start them again, and they started fine(from status Offline to Started).
With v3.1.1 stuffs are going much much better, great job guys ;)

I'm trying to import a previous premiere pro sequence into premiere pro and suddenly a few sections are 'media offline' (it has always worked up until now). I would be able to relink the clips but the offending ones aren't showing up in the project's clip bin. To make things worse I can't drag and drop the corresponding clips from my finder into the clips bin and then 'replace clip with' in the timeline, as the clips in the project have been renamed, and are synced up to audio (this is a 90 minute feature film).
Can anyone help??!!

Right click on the offline clips and select Reveal in Project. This will call up the bin they're in, where you'll be able to relink.

What update rollup are you running on the DPM 2012 R2 server ? DPM 2012 R2 UR5 introduced a new refresh feature that will re-enumerate data sources on an individual protected server.
Check for VSS errors inside the guests that are having problems being backed up.

Can I make the thumbnails in Lightroom bigger, when the pictures are missing/ offline?

Hello everybody,
I have a huge problem. There are some pictures from a friends wedding in lightroom who are missing/ offline. The problem is that the pictures aren't on my computer or memory card anymore and I already tried a data recovery with Disk Drill. Unfortunately the pictures (documents) which have been found by Disk Drill, are damaged and can't be opened. So the pictures are really gone.
But now I was looking in Lightroom (i've uploaded the pictures with Lightroom in the first place) and I see that the thumbnails are from a reasonable quality. That's why I am wondering if it's possible to larger the thumbnails without losing quality/ pixels. Of course I already tried a few things (SmillaEnlarger & some things in Photoshop), but unfortunately the pictures are still very bad.
Or is there any other way to get this pictures back? I still got the catalogus from Lightroom where the pictures where.

Dose Hyper-V 2012 R2 support the consoles of 500+ Win7 VMs are connecting by vmconnect at the same time?

Dear Experts,
I have 500+ Win7 VMs in Hyper-V 2012 R2. I'd like provide my guys to access these Win7 VMs' console using Virtual Machine Connection (VMConnect) w/ Enhanced Session Mode. My guys are simple workers. I assume they may execute a bat file(vmconnect [<Servername>
<VMName>]) from the command prompt, then access their Win7 VM console and copy/paste into the virtual machine. So, there may be 500+ Win7 VMs are interacting with like physical computers. My question is if Hyper-V 2012 R2 have limitation when the
consoles of 500+ Win7 VMs are connecting at the same time. Please kindly offer some guide. Really appreciated for the help!

Well, the server has stayed up and running.
The Only thing I can put it down to is that I disabled a scheduled task that is supposed to cause the server to BSOD/memory dump when a specific event ID happens. We did this several months ago as GRT generation in CA D2D backup was causing the server to
become unresponsive and required "Turn Off" in Hyper V Manager. We scheduled a util called "NotMyFault" which was supposed to trigger when an event ID happened only during the D2d backup. That fault was cured long ago by an undocumented
config of afstor.ini, but the scheduled task was left in place. The task never triggered - or at least there were no events showing it had triggered and in the task history, the last time was a month ago. Funny though how it was the ONLY change I made yesterday
and the server stayed up. I will monitor for the next few days, and if the server is OK, then must conclude that it was the cause. I suppose I could re-enable it at some point to prove the point.

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off merely by the seeming complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the behest of a stranger. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.

☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.

Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start Time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

VMs are getting shut down in hyper V

HI,
I have installed windows 8 on hyper V. But the VMs are getting shutdown if they are Ideal.
How ever i have changed the power management settings . But i am not able to save the settings.
Under power management turn of HDD is set to 20 mins. I tried to modify but could not save it.
any suggestion please..

If you are running VMs with Windows 8 (client), you must disable power management. It is a simple as that.
"High Performance" power plan at the least.
many power options can kill your VMs - NIC power savings, disk spin down, etc. As the OS does not detect the VMs use of these, only the managmenet OS use of these - the power management scheme is based on the management OS and its perception of use.
There is no consideration taken of the VMs.
So, if you walk away and stop using the OS and leave VMs running, the OS will perceive that you walked away and save power.
Client Hyper-V is not for generall running of VMs, Server is.

The problem is that the 2 VMs are automatically reboot too often if I don't touch keyboard for a while. All programs running in the VM are gone and need to be restarted.
My question is:
How to have the VMs be stable and not to reboot if I don't touch keyboard for a while ?

Go to Offline status after sending print in HP

Hi everybody.I have two HP Laserjet 4100. Both of them after sending print from windows go to offline status and an error message appear (Yellow Error BOX in notification area).Printer screen show Ready message. The light on the printer is green and fixed. I connect printer with LPT cable to PC.I can get test print from printer menus without any error. I test printer on windows XP 32bit and windows 7 64bit. I get driver from HP Support And Driver Download Center. I install any type of driver (XP 32bit/7 64 bit/ Universal PCL5)I try to use Doctor Hp to find problem but this application is not support LPT connections. I do Cold reset and reset maintenanc counter (With holding left arrow of Items and Value keys).I used 3 diffrent and new LPT cable. I confused and tired!Please help me to solve this problem.Thanks

Right now it appears you are having communication issues from the computer to the printer since the printer will print test pages. The first thing you will want to do is use one of the 32bit computers attached with parallel cable to test communication from the port to the printer. With the printer connected to the port and I assume the lpt port is lpt1, go to start and run and type command and hit enter. At the prompt that appears in the black box type cd\windows and hit enter. Now at the C:\windows prompt, type dir >> lpt1 and hit the enter key. Does the printer data light start to flash and does the printer start to print pages. If it does, then communication is fine and you need to remove and reload the printer using the correct driver. If it does not print then you have an issue with the port on the computer, the cable or the port on the printer. Since it happens with two printers I would think that would eliminate the port on the printer. You may want to check the port setting in the BIOS of the computer. Most ports are Standard, ECP and EPP. Best to set the port for Standard when using an old legacy printer. Good Luck.

CM 4.4.7 Online and End Devices 4.2.3c Offline status

I am running WAE-512-K9 and the Central Manager was upgraded to 4.4.7 and the Some Application Accelerators are running 4.2.3c and they seem to be showing "offline status " but they are still optimizing save for the status being "offline"
What could be the Issue here ?

Are all accelerators running version 4.2.3c showing offline or just few? If all on same version are showing offline it could incompatibility issue between versions.
You can also go to the application accelerator CLI and execute the command:
show cms info
See what it shows. Check the connectivity between accelerator and CM. If it is fine and nothing has changed (like FW rules in between accelerator and CM) try doing the below and see if that resolves the issue.
cms deregister force.
Once deregistered go to config mode and do "cms enable".
Check the show cms info again.

After enabling checkbox of "Enable assistive access device" is possible to get the online/ offline status.From Menu we will get the status.Without doing this i want to get the apple mail account online/offline status.hope some help scripts for this.

Determining the Outlook Offline Status on a server remotely

Hi All, I'm currently working on a project that can remotely monitor the offline status of Outlook that is running on a server.
Overview: I have a VM who's only function to to check and forward a specific email once a day. I need to know when the VM is down, Outlook is not running or Outlook is offline. I have been able to determine if the VM is down and if outlook is running
but I'm struggling with the offline status Outlook.
Here is my code (straight foward)...vbscript

I should also note that you cannot get a link to a remote application. You can run a script on the server that can attach locally.
You would find it better to write a macro in Outlook that monitors the online status (which will only show online if you are using Exchange direct and not SMTP.
The VBA code can be looped to look for the connection and alert when it fails.
It would make more sense to have Exchange forward the mail and dump the VM.

ICloud showing offline status

I have enabled the "FFM" in the admin account...
But the thing is.....even though i am logged into the admin account and go to the icloud website and search for my mac....it is giving me offline status (I am
connected to wifi)..
Any insights on that???

I have a printer not being found on our network on one of our Windows 7 Enterprise 64-Bit systems (system has been in use a while but comes from same base image as working systems). Printer is on, network configurations are correct. Other systems print no problem. One strange behavior on the system was the printer was installed but would show as "Offline" - resetting print spooler would fix issue but within 5 minutes printer would go offline again - I assumed I could uninstall, remove print driver/port, etc and just re-install but upon that attempt I was met with the attached image. Have rebooted/cold started of course, checked for strange power settings on NIC, re-verified configuration on printer in question, test printed from various sources with no problem. I know the problem is with the Windows 7 system but I'm just not sure of...
