Can anyone help? I developed my program in WinNT, and it worked fine, but when I downloaded it to a unix platform,It can not work well .The programe of genarate XML from Database work well ,but insert XML into Database meet a error ,
at oracle.xml.sql.dml.OracleXMLSave
at oracle.xml.sql.dml.Oracle.insertXML
Can you give me some directions about how to configure the OracleXSU1.2 on Unix?

I had a similar problem in older version of Designer.

After the .pll where copied into a UNIX directory, I compiled UNIX .plx. After setting the UNIX path for the libraries, the form still would NOT work.

The tech support person at Seeristic (maker of DesignAssist ) told me to check the case of the filenames. All the UNIX .pll and plx. filenames where "lower" case. Inside the source code, some of the libraries called other libraries. In one or two cases, the calls where coded with "upper" case text. The libraries worked fine on windows because there is no case sensitity to filenames.

I ran all the .pll through a text editor and changed all calls to lower case. Then I compiled window .plx in its directory and compiled UNIX .plx in its directory. The form worked in both UNIX and Windows.

If you are deploying on client server/server in both UNIXand Windows, I have developed techniques for having both environments look alike. As you may already know, the UNIX text items have "mote" around the outside for the cursor indicator. If the object library font fills the Windows text item, then the UNIX text is clipped by the "mote". I have developed platform specific object libaries that changes the font size at compile time. Now the forms look similar on both platforms.

Visual Studio Error in UNIX FTP for AIX

I am using a VS2010 Web Site Project to access files on our
AIX server (Unix). (Pre-compiled website).
Using Add > Existing Web Site, I have established an FTP session within my project which shows all of the Unix files and folders.
We just found out that there were two folders on the AIX side with the same name, differing case:
/MDM/Custom & /MDM/custom
On the Unix side:
To fix this, I edited the folders to move all of the stuff within /MDM/Custom into
/MDM/custom, then I deleted /MDM/Custom entirely.
So back to VS2010 on the Windows side:
I deleted the website from the project and exited VS.
I deleted all the files in %TEMP% and restarted VS.
I restarted VS and recreated the web site in the project using Add > Existing Web Site.
The only folder showing is /MDM/Custom which has nothing in it.
Refreshing the folders produces error 550. (No such file or directory).
How do I recover from this situation? Where is VS storing the bogus folder name?
P.S.: This is a pre-compiled web project

Oracle Reports 2.5 to 6.0 - getting REP-1800 error in Unix

I have an Oracle report which was created using Reports 2.5
with Developer 2000 in Windows NT. I have since opened it in Reports 6.0
in Windows 2000 and compiled it (in a word, converted it to 6.0) and it runs fine under Developer in Windows.
However, when I compile it in Digital/Compaq UNIX and run it under Developer 6.0
there, I get an REP-1800 Formatter Error. It compiles fine, just doesn't run.
I would greatly appreciate any help! Thanks in advance!

Check your printer setting on your unix machine.You need to install a default printer on that machine.

FRM-40039 error on Unix

I'm getting this error in the application server in unix "FRM 40039 Cannot attach library calendar90". The same form works fine in windows.
I searched for solutions in this forum and tried everything but it still gives me the error.
I have compiled the pll file
I have put the path in default.env
I know unix is case-sensitive, i checked and the filename is fine
What else could I be missing.

thats not easy. for example: you work in a working-dir. Your PATH shows to additional directories.
When Forms looks for a library at runtime, then the search-path uses this priorities
Prio 1) Search for the PLX in the working-dir. Use it.
else
Prio 2) Search for the PLX in all other PATHs. Then use it
else
Prio 3) Search for the PLL in the working-dir. Use it.
else
Prio 4) Search for the PLL in all other PATHs. Then use it
ELSE
RAISE Error "Cannot find library xyz"

Sqlplus error in UNIX

Hello,
I am having a weird error invoking sqlplus in UNIX. It works fine when I invoke it with the account that I installed Oracle client. However, when I login using a different account, it gives me with the following error:
Error 6 initializing SQL*Plus
Message file sp1<lang>.msb not found
SP2-0750: You may need to set ORACLE_HOME to your Oracle software directory
when I do echo $ORACLE_HOME, it displays the oracle home.
I tried export ORACLE_HOME=/opt/bin/ssaps/oracle/client
When I run sqlplus, it still gives me the same error. what am I missing here?

Java Heap Space Error in Unix

Will Java Heap Space error occur in Unix environment? I have problem with heap space error in Windows. Will it help if i switch to Unix platform? Does Unix swap memory to secondary storage when out of memory?

Changing os's may help, or it may not. Java requires contiguous memory addresses for the heap, and that varies with the os, os parameters, what has previously been loaded into memory, and how much physical memory is available. The heap can't be assigned to the os's swap space; the os handles paging in and out of memory. All modern os's provide paging to disk.

How do you pass an ORACLE error to UNIX?

I hope someone can help.
I have several SQL scripts that are called from a UNIX program to insert/update employee records in ORACLE Financials. THe trouble is, the application (well, really the UNIX program behind it) doesn't exit early when it fails due to a SQL error. How can I make the UNIX progrtam and/or SQL scripts do this?

Added a couple of 'raises' and moved the 'WHENEVER..' and now although the SQL fails, the UNIX script is allowed to complete without causing an error - could it be ignoring it?

I am trying to discovery two unix servers with operations manager 2012 SP 2. Both unix servers are the same operating system and patch level. The first worked fine; the server was discovered and the agent was installed. The second failed with these errors:

Please check the following aspects.
1. Download the WinRM 1.1 and reinstall it.
2. Enable SQL Broker
a. Place Opsmgr DB in Single_user Mode: In SQL Servers Management Studio > New query> ALTER DATABASE OperationsManager SET SINGLE_USER WITH ROLLBACK IMMEDIATE
b. Click Execute
c. Enable SQL Broker - ALTER DATABASE OperationsManager SET SINGLE_USER WITH ROLLBACK IMMEDIATE
d. Click Execute
e. Place Opsmgr DB back to Multi_user mode: ALTER DATABASE OperationsManager SET MULTI_USER
f. Click Execute
g. Verify SQL broker is set to 1 - SELECT is_broker_enabled FROM sys.databases WHERE name='OperationsManager'
3. Reinstall Agent on Unix Server
If the issue persists, try to use DebugView.

RMAN script error in UNIX

I have db10.2.0.3 on SUN Solaris 10.
I have a rman script called backup_aps2
This is the content

Not an Oracle problem.
A 'here-document' is automatically turned in a temporary file.
The default directory for temporary files is /tmp.
As per the error message, you apparently didn't read, you have no permission to create files in this directory.
You can change the location of your temporary files for your session by setting the TMP and TMPDIR variables to an appropiate value.

SAPCAR error on UNIX AIX

Hi experts
Am trying to apply SPS to our EP 7.0 portal. So I downloaded the files from SMP and dumped them into /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in directory including the SAPCAR file. I renamed the SAPCAR_XXX(some file name ) to SAPCAR.
I am getting errors while trying to uncar some SAR files. SAPCAR itself resides in /EPS/in

Where fonts are involved (as in PDF), Unix often requires the X-Windows to be running. That might not be the case for a webserver unix box.
Other than that I've got no idea.

MAXL Script error in UNIX

Hi All,
i have a maxl script to export the level 0 data and also a shell script with command "*essmsh maxlscriptname.mxl*" in it, the version that i am working on is essbase 11.1.2 and the platform is in unix.
I have seen that, for the maxl script to work in version 11 we have to use the command "*startEssmsh.sh*" so that it sets all the variables and then runs the required script.
The problem is, i dont have startEssmsh.sh in my \bin directory and even if i change my shell script to "*startEssmsh.sh maxlscriptname.mxl*" its not working, it says that startEssmsh.sh not found.
Kindly let me know on how to run the mxl script in unix with no startEssmsh.sh file present \bin directory. Are there any manual steps to set up the variables and if yes, what are they.

The script you are looking for is:
<MIDDLEWAREHOME>/user_projects/epmsystem1/EssbaseServer/essbaseserver1/bin/startMaxl.sh
In UNIX you will need to use the full path to startMaxl.sh unless you have <MIDDLEWAREHOME>/user_projects/epmsystem1/EssbaseServer/essbaseserver1/bin in your PATH statement.
