Orange light on the router

I have a solid orange light on the router which stays solid, can't connect to the internet

Have you run throught the troubleshooting? If not then its worth trying http://broadband.diagnostics.sky.com/ If you have then you need to call Sky and report the fault.

The battery's probably drained and the power brick on the fritz. Unfortunately, if she won't start there's little we can do for software-based diagnosis. You'll have to take it in to a Store or Service Provider for assessment.

  • What does the orange light on the power cord mean?

i have a brand new Macbook and am charging it for the second time but when I plug it in the power adaptor goes green then orange?
Anyone know what this is? i do not see anything about this online or in the manual.
    thanks, mark

It means, of course, that your adapter is charging your battery. As long as you have a sufficient charge in your battery then it shouldn't matter if it is orange because that is a sign that it is charging the battery.
Are you just concerned that it is green when you plug it in and then it jumps to orange? That should not be a problem or serious concern. If it never went to green then that might be a concern.

    Hey Snouserz,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
I understand that your iPod shuffle is not recognized in iTunes. The following troubleshooting assistant may provide a resolution:

  • I have a 13" early 2011 MBP that when plugged in to the AC adapter, the usually bright orange light is now a dull, dim orange light. The computer is running off of the adaptor, but is not charging. The battery health is at 93 percent.

The title really says it all. I have tried reseting the SMC mutliple times, but to no avail. The computer is clearly not under warranty, so hopefully there is a software/firmware solution as opposed to a hardware solution. Thank you!

  • Orange light on router

i have got a constant flashing orange @ light on my router, it's a Sagem F@ST2504a4G. When i turn on the power (i dont have the power on when it's not in use) for the router and my pc, it wont connect and the said light is flashing. If i shut it down again it will eventually connect after several attempts. I have checked all connections and done a reboot of the router all with no sucess, this has been happening everytime i want to go online for the last week. if i put a phone into the socket used it works fine. Any suggestions?

It could well be then that yours issue is unrelated then and just a coincedence or that the outage issue is more widespread than first thought.
The only advice is to keep on at them to fix it(use the Sky service app for Android or Apple smartphones if you can as you can request a call back from it should the call wait time be longer than 2 minutes).

  • Question about a light on my router

So there is an orange light on the front of my router! I was wondering what this meant.. It wasn't lit up before today. About 30 minutes ago I upgraded my firmware. Is the orange light a bad thing? The light is to the left of the power light and it has a symbol on it!

No Orange Light is not a Bad Thing ... it is lit up due to WPA security on the router ...

  • Power Adapter flashes orange light and won't power on.

I woke up this morning to find that my power adapter's light is off and it is still plugged into the surge protector.
    1. When I push the button on the bottom, I get all 4 lights saying that it is charged.
    2. When I plug the laptop with another adapter, I get a constant flashing orange light from the power adapter. Mine will flash orange several times and then go black. It's like it's trying to communicate something to me but I don't understand its language!!
    3. I have tried resetting the computer, that didn't work.
    4. I have tried powering up without the battery in the machine, that didn't work.
Any ideas out there?? I'm thinking that I need a new logic board but I also haven't backed up my info. Any assistance on either of these issues?

I found out that someone had spilt chicken soup on my laptop and it pretty much destroyed the logic board, optical drive, processor and other technical stuff.
    *heavy sigh*

  • Problem with a Dell Monitor - stopped working yesterday, just a flashing orange light. Monitor or Mac Mini issue?

I've been using an old Dell monitor with my Mac Mini ever since I got it, however yesterday evening my monitor stopped working - however I'm not sure whether the issue is with the monitor or the Mac Mini. It just doesn't seem to respond when I try to bring the Mac Mini out of sleep. I can hear that the Mini is responding to the keyboard - I hear the right noise for pressing return on the password box without entering anything.
I've made sure all the cables are plugged in properly (power & connection to the Mini), but all I'm getting is a flashing orange light on the monitor.
I don't have anything else to test the monitor on, nor do I have access to another monitor to plug into the Mac Mini - I only have an old iBook G4, so don't have the right adaptors to plug the VGA from the monitor into that.
So before I run out and buy a new monitor, what is the best way to determine where the problem lies.

Hi, I've actually never had any issues waking this monitor from sleep, this is the first time that it has been unresponsive and I've had it for years - probably over 10! (E151FP) so probably overdue for replacement.
To be honest I'd rather not just switch the Mini off unless it's a last resort given that other than the lack of a picture everything else seems to be working ok - still hearing all the normal noises of Skype, Mail and TimeMachine etc.

  • Orange lights, poor speeds or no connection

We ve been having issues with our BT since we signed up, whether that be with the tv or the internet. We bought our own aerial (which we never had to do with virgin) to try and get the tv to work but if its a channel you could ordinarily get on freeview, its pixelated and unwatchable. These channels are then viewable when the aerial is connected directly to the television.
It would be great if we could go on the internet and look up a solution but we cant...because that doesnt work either. We re not super keen on paying £130 for a technician to come around, as i believe they re scam artists and will look for anything to charge us - the fact they even have a fee is absurd.
Does anyone have a solution? We have an orange light on the box and the internet goes on and off when it pleases, despite doing resets etc. Then when it is on, the speeds are around 7mb (we re paying for 70mb+).
Has anyone else had this problem? We miss our virgin package and have over 16 months of crappy BT before we can change. Worst decision I ever made.

    Lucachad wrote:
Okay. But what do you mean by my equipment? I have no equipment. It's all BTs stuff. Do you mean a problem with my laptop recieving the signal? YES. or with any cables that you may be using to connect you computer to te homehub. and what does extension wiring mean? If you have moved the homehub from where it was installed by using extension cable. Is that the wiring from the BT Exchange to my house? No if there is a problem there it is BT problem not yours. You would not be charged for a fault there. Or the wiring from the Master socket to the hub? If the wire from the master socket to the hub is danaged, such as been hoovered or cut or damaged you would be charged.
The reason the charge is absurd is because BT offer a service and in that service they provide the equipment and setup. Free of charge. Now if I tampered with that setup or equipment then yes there should be a charge, however, as part of that service (in which they provide the equipment and setup) how can it be possible that they charge me for something they should have done correctly in the first place?  Be it wiring, equipment, or anything to do with the initial setup, there should be no charge.  It has already been explained at least twice, you won't be charge if it is poorly installed or faulty  If the technician finds that i tampered with anything in anyway, then I will eat my words and fork out £130. But if they attempt to charge me for completing an installation which was part of the contract, then that seems utterly unfair. Yet again, you won't be charge if it is poorly installed or faulty
So I guess my final question is: if I haven't done anything to the wiring or setup since it has been installed then I will have NO charge, is that what you're saying? If so that is great. YES
And in a more positive note, I was recently just offered compensation for the 8 days in which we have had no service; so there are some good people still left, which is great. Glad to hear it.
Also, regarding the channels, that was just a passing comment, I realise Virgin offered more channels but changed because I thought BT would offer a better service and faster internet and oh how I was wrong. The problem isn't the channel selection it is the non existence of any channels or internet (and when there is internet it running 1/10th of the speed in which I am paying for.)
It's just a real shame that these issues had to arrise so soon after signing up. I had high hopes for BT, and now I'm just really disappointed and growing increasingly annoyed. Unfortunately sometimes things do go wrong but it will be resolved.
Thanks for your comments and I'll post some feedback once the technician has done his thing.

  • K9N2 SLi Platinum Blinking Orange Light

    Hello All,
New to the forums and was hoping you could shed some light on this problem im having, purchased recently a MSi K9N2 Platinum m/b, Installed it, hit power and nothing, No fans, Just a blinking orange light in the bottom RT corner of the m/b ...The manual says the LED lamp is the Standby lamp, It keeps blinking every half second non stop. I Jump started my PSU to make sure it was working and it is, could not check the Amps though, no meter :(
I read about the Dual rail topic also, i see 12V1 and 12V2 on the PSU does that mean it's dual rail? or does it even matter? Bottom line is I can't get the m/b to fire up. Sorry for the newbish questions all and Thanks in advance.
    System Specs
    Windows Vista X64
    AMD Phenom 9850 X4 2.5Ghz
    OCz 850W PSU
    Evga 8800GTX 768mb Graphics card
    4 gigs memory (X2 Patriot & X2 OCz 800Mhz)
    Soundblaster XF-i Soundcard

What about VGA power cables? Are they plugged in too?
    Else:
Test the motherboard outside of the case to verify that the motherboard is not shorting to the case and causing a problem
         •    With only the CPU and heat sink, memory, and video card (or onboard video) connected to the motherboard, place the motherboard on a non-conductive surface and retest the motherboard
         •    Check the case mounting standoffs to verify that they are lining up correctly with the mounting holes on the motherboard.
If still no change try with another and powerfull enough PSU.
