Orange memory lanes not working.

Hi, I had a BSOD and PC wouldn't boot unless I removed both memory sticks from orange memory lanes. I have tested all four sticks in green lanes and they run fine. Therefore my memory is only running in single mode and not dual channel, any ideas guys?

If you test the RAMs only in the orange slots, the system will persist to have the problem, I would think that the slots are faulty.
Alternate workarounds to test if the slots are really the problem, you can try the following tests.
- Test with 1 stick of RAM in orange slot
- Clear CMOS
- Test with other brand of RAM

HELP! - Lumia 800 memory card not working :/

My phone decided to go into the notorious restart loop - So following everyones advice on teh internet I performed a hard reset.
It loads the orange sign - then the Nokia sign - then the windows mobile sign as if the phone is about to start with the noises etc... then it decides to goto a screen says
"MEMORY CARD NOT WORKING

I also get the option to make an "emergency" call or "turn off" the phone. the volume buttons also work the volume fine aswell as the option to change the phones mode from silent to vibrate or vibrate and ring.
Tried hard reset numerous times, tried charing the phone for hours on end and trying it, tried soft resets. Basically the only options i've found.
Just to add.... Why would a phone with no memory card slot even have a message stating that the memory card is faulty and that i could even remove or replace it???
I hope someone manages to help me without having to cough up £50 excess to my insurance.
Anyone come across this before?

Sorry, it's my standard response, but your phone doesn't work. Take it back to whoever sold it to you. It's a consumer good, consumer protection rules apply.
Your problem certainly has novelty value but if you've done the hard reset and it didn't work you're at the end of the fix it yourself stage.

Max Memory Settings Not Working (SQL Server 2008 R2)

I have 12 GB ram in sql server 2008 R2 of 64 bit server (Windows 2008 R2).
I have set the Max memory setting to 12288 MB Memory setting.
Still the usage of sql server process is around 14 GB.
Is Max memory setting not working?
I have also enabled AWE after all it is 64 bit.

Problem is that: my OS is halting due to this RAM. I have 16 GB of ram and assigning 12 GB to SQL SERVER and rest is using for OS. Please guide me how to get information about actual memory usage from all sql server processes. like

Are you also running SSIS/SSAS/SSRS with database engine services. What do you mean by OS is halting ?

Sys.dm_OS_memory_clerks would be DMV helpful in tracking memory utilized by various processes

Memory modules not working on HP Touchsmart 600-1050sc desktop - update BIOS ?

I just bought 2 x 4GB DDR3 PC3 12800 memory modules from Cruical (see http://eu.crucial.com/eur/en/touchsmart-600-1050sc/CT5311446)
The modules does not work on my HP Touchsmart 600-1050 sc desktop. Acc to HP specs it should support 2 x 4GB (max 8 GB in total).
But the computer does not start (I have installed the modules correct). The manufacturer advises me to update my BIOS.
I wanna ask you guys, before I try suhc a thing, is there any chance this could help?

Submit and return exporting list to memory is not working in background

SolarisStudio12.3-crash,memory,Code_Folding not working

Well, downloaded the new Solaris Studio 12.3 in order to test it for remote development on a Solaris 10.
First of all, the IDE - code folding is not working (enabled in the options) the little bar appears on the left but empty... nothing in it.... No errors in the file opened, all dependencies working but the damn thing won't work...
Has anyone manage to make it work on a large project ? (800 files - *.h, *.C)
Second, memory sky high, after each "parsing" the memory keeps increasing.. until reaches 1.1 - 1.2GB when it freezes.... The workaround for this one was to start the studio with the following parameters:
-J-XX:+CMSClassUnloadingEnabled -J-XX:+CMSPermGenSweepingEnabled -J-Djava.index.useMemCache=true
This seems to work for 1-2h, after that the memory is again 1G and you need to restart (but there is a plugin "button" to restart the IDE) :)
The third one is when it hangs... and you have to kill the proccess. The issue is that after this, you won't be able to open your remote project.. and you have to do all the configuration all again....
Quite hard to use this IDE... even though a good idea it seems is full of bugs..

I'm not going to respond on the Code Folding question (not using the feature), so I hope someone else will.
As to performance, memory and crashes - a few very key questions:
1) How did you create you project?
2) What platform do you run it on?
3) What Java is used underneath? (Oracle, OpenJDK, etc) What version?
Please do not use the "workaround" describe in your post. Instead run IDE as:
% solstudio -J-Xmx2000m
(you may give more memory to IDE if 2Gb is not enough for your project)

For sure we have many customers using IDE on really large - thousands of files - projects. In most of the cases all major issues are solved by setting the Xmx to higher value as I recommended above.

5.1 Soundblaster not working, now LAN not working eith

I'm new here, and would greatly appreciate any help anyone can give me. I've tried searching and looking through all the FAQ's I could find, but still am not able to find a solution.
I am running windows XP and I have a Soundblaster 5. card, and it's worked perfectly until last night. I had my headphones plugged in, and decided to plug in my Creative speakers instead. When I tried to plug the speakers in, soundcard appeared to be not working. I opened up my computer and took out the sound card and put it back in again, thinking I had maybe knocked it loose. I then went to check it under Windows device manager and it was listed as 'Multimedia Audio Controller" and said I had no drivers installed. I came here to the website, typed in the model number, got the correct drivers, but when I try to install the drivers, I get an error message saying that there is not a compatible device installed. I tried removing the card and putting it back in, also tried putting it into a different slot, but to no avail.
Now the biggest problem; after plugging my sound card in for the 4th time, my network connection stopped working. I'm connected to a LAN, and it keeps saying it's unable to renew my IP address. In device manager, it doesn't look like there's anything wrong with my network card.... could it be possible that I somehow fried the on-board network card when I was putting the sound card in?
I'm really at a loss as to what to do here. ANY suggestions at all would be GREATLY appreciated.

HELP HELP HELP .Memory card not working in E71

I have bought a brand new E71.I am not able to access the memory card on E71.The mobile is accepting the card without the sim card.When i put in the sim card with the memory card it is not working.Memory card is only working without the sim.The same memory card is working in other E71.Is there any way to solve this issue.The card is also readable in the computer.I tried restoring factory settings.Anyways to solve the issue.

LAN not working since installing Windows XP on Satellite P100-160

Hi,
I purchased a P100-160 (PSPAAE - 01D00UEN) with Vista pre-installed. Couldn't stand Vista so I have just installed Windows XP.
However, I cannot get my LAN to work properly. That is, I can get it to work with the 'Cardbus Ethernet Card' plugged in, but i cannot get it to work via the RJ-45 slot!
Does anyone have any idea what I can do/how I can rectify this.

As far as I am aware I have downloaded all the drivers. I have checked both of the sites that you indicated, I have downloaded the drivers but there does not seem to be a 'setup' icon/file within the extrated files. There are 'unistaller' files but not a setup one - anyone have any ideas????
Do you suggest that I install all the drivers from scatch and see what happens? Any other suggetions would be very much appreciated.

Wake on Lan not working properly?

So as far as i'm aware Windows 8 supports wake on lan whilst the device is either in sleep or hibernate (not completely off) and so far it works fine when in sleep mode (no randomly turning on like lots of people have been saying) but nothing happens when in hibernate. Is there any particular reason why this may be?

WOL (Wake On Lan) works only through a router when it is capable to forward to broadcast LAN-IP-adres.
In my consideration only the good old BEFSR41 is capable to forward to the broadcast adres for example 192.168.1.255 (SM: 255.255.255.0)
Because there is no IP-adres in powerless PC's the "Magic Packet" (which WOL realy is) MUST be send onto your LAN by means of the broadcast-adres.
Other routers are NOT able to sumit a adres like 192.168.1.255 in a subnet of 255.255.255.0 because they are NOT allowed to use any broadcast-adres.(they can get trouble by means of a broadcaststorm!!!)
So do not get rid of that old router you have!!

The "Magic Packet" contains the MAC-adres of your recipient host and wil trigger the powersupply of that PC.
For Internet WOL, try http://www.dslreports.com/wakeup, submit your IP-adres of your home, your MAC-adres of your PC and klick on "Wake up".

Ethernet LAN not working after upgrading to windows 8.1

After upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1, my Ethernet LAN is no longer working. Wireless LAN connectivity is OK. I have run the HP Support Assistant and downloaded the drivers for 8.1. Hovever, I do not see a 8.1 driver listed for the Ethernet LAN.

You're very welcome. See if the recovery manager still works so you can roll back to W8. In memory replication not working

We are using Weblogic 4.5.1 SP5 (I know that is an old service pack -

          We are clustering two weblogic servers.
          In our test systems everything works great.
          In our production systems, failover works, but not in memory
          replication. With the replication debugging output turned on I see the
          following output:

          <RJVM> Creating connection to 10.100.35.90/10.100.35.80 ...
          (I should point out that this RJVM message only appears on one of the
          servers, appears whether or not the other server is running, and
          10.100.35.80 is not the IP address of the other server nor of this

          (Note, it never prints the typical <RepMan>Adding XXXXXX to the cluster)
          When a user connects and a session is created, we see the following:
          <RepMan>Unable to create secondary for XXXXXXX
          <RepMan>Registered XXXXXX

          <RepMan>updateSecondary called on unpaired primary
          <RepMan>lookup found for XXXXXX

          Looks like they are not in cluster..
          double check the configuration and check in weblogic console whether you see both servers under the cluster name...

LAN not working on brand new T400s

Is there something special I need to do to get the LAN adapter up and runnning? It doesn't work under Windows 7 or Ubuntu. Packets get sent out, but nothing comes back. It's never worked.
I'm hoping it's not a hardware problem, and something just needs to be configured correctly in the bios. But I didn't see anything likely. Any ideas, anyone?

The internal system tests are capable of testing everything up to the actual transmission portions of the circuitry. They utilize 127.0.0.1, the systems loopback address, meaning they don't actually send anything during the test or get anything from outside the system.
This means that while the internal networking is working properly, your fault likely lies in the jack itself or the related circuitry. Hardware.
To be sure, you might try running a program such as Wireshark while the laptop is connected to a router or switch through the LAN port to see if it's getting anything at all, even garbled data.

Dynamic Memory is not working all the time

We are in the process off moving our 2008R2 VM's from the 2008R2 HyperV servers to new Server 2012R2 Hosts.
We shut down the VM's copy the files and VHD's to the new CSV's en import the VM in the Hyperv Manager. Then we make them high available in the Failover Cluster Manager (Configure role - Virtual machine). We mount the integration tools and update the
VM to version 6.3.9600.16384
For a specific type of VM (mostly RDS Host servers) we always had Dynamic Memory configured (when they were hosted on de 2008R2 platform), so we are using the same settings on the 2012r2 platform. The memory settings were;
Startup memory: 1024 MB
Minimum memory: 1024 MB
Maximum memory: 12288 MB
These VM's reboot every morning, this is done for specific reasons. But now once in a while (once per week/2 weeks) we notice that the VM's are not using more memory then 1024 MB while the demand is much higher. Rebooting the server helps most of the times,
live migrating to another host also helps. In the VM we see that memory usage in the taskmanager is 99-100%, and after the move it immediately starts using more than the minimum configured amount.
Until the failover the memory usage was 1024 MB and it did not get any higher.
This happened several times. Last week we changed the Memory configuration to:
Startup memory : 2048 MB
Minimum memory: 2048 MB
Maximum memory: 12288 MB
But this morning we had a call about the performance of one of the VM's, We saw that it was only using 2 GB memory while the demand was much higher. After live migrating it to another host it started using more memory immediately.
The 2012R2 hosts are not overcommited, there is a lot of memory still available for the VM's. Those VM's never had this problem on the 2008R2 Hyperv platform.
Any idea why this happens?

I think this is a bug of some sort. I say that because the components that make up dynamic memory are as follows.
Memory Balancer(Host service, coordinates how memory changes are made.) This is also what shows the memory demand counter i believe.
Dynamic Memory Virtualization Service Provider (this is included your VMWP.exe proccess, one per VM. Essentially how it runs on the host. He listens to the Service Client for metrics)
Dynamic Memory Virtualization Service Client (this is inside the VM and reports to the Dynamic Memory Virtualizaton Service Provider.)
Since you live migrated the machine it made dynamic memory work on the other host. This means the Service Client is running in the client and shouldn't be an issue. The Memory Balancer is the server and shouldn't be the issue, so this means the "Dynamic
Memory Virtualization Service Provider" is in question. When you live migrate the machine its going to create a new VMWP.exe process on the clustered server. So now the question is it the host that couldn't listen to the service or the worker process
skipped a beat and has a bug.
Out of curiosity does it happen to both hosts? Also have you profiled the servers to see how much memory they really require on start-up? When you reboot the RDS servers, how many VM's do you reboot and is it a staggered process?

Satelite Pro L20 - LAN Not working after OS re-install

I have just recently replaced my hard drive and I used the product recovery disk etc.
WXP loaded perfectly and now my wired LAN does not seem to want to work. All it is giving me a limited or no connectivity.
I have tried to uninstall and re-install the drivers, manually enter the IP settings and still nothing will work.
I wondered if anyone else has had this issue before and could offer me any advice.

Maybe you should check your settings at your router. Maybe some wrong DNS,Subnetmask, etc.
Did you already checked the cable?? Perhaps the cable is malfunctioning. Just cross-check it with another cable.
Would appreciate to get some feedback from you.
By the way, which operating system do you use?
