Orange N80 update LIVE
Yep - my UK Orange phone has just updated! Hoorah!!
Now to re-tinker with all my settings - for those unsure the V4 update does a factory reset on the phone, loosing all contacts etc, so heed all those warnings from Nokia!
Well done to all the techie guys behind the scenes, I know they can't have an easy job.

That's strange - I can't remember the default behaviour, but if you have only one line then I think one of the spools (the one on the left) should be full or if you have line 2 then the one on the right should be full, but I can't rememeber exactly because I've never had a line 2 so never had to worry about it !
It is in the manual though

hii people could someone plzz tell me how do i reverse my N80 update. I updated my N80 yesterday to V5.0719.0.2 dated 24-5-2007. I m from India. After updating i noticed dat a new internet edition folder was available. But wen i went o my music player, the Equaliser has become terrible. I tried to personalise but then the output was no as good as it was b4 the update.
So someone plzzzz help me nd let me know how should i get back to the my earlier version wich something like v3.... and showed 3-5-2006 as the date.

Unfortunately you can't downgrade your software with Nokia Software Updater and it is not part of Nokia Care Point remit to provide this service.

CS6: Program Monitor Not Updating Live
Ive use premiere in the past and have had the program update live as im color correcting. on cs6 it only updates when i let go of the mouse when im adjusting when the color wheel or any effect the only time the monitor will update is when i let go of the mouse.

1st thought is to ask what is your brand/model graphics card, and what is the driver number?
I have read in other messages that upgrading from CS5 to CS6 required an update of the nVidia driver (maybe ATI as well) -

i have a MSI K9A2 CF-F Socket AM2+ 790X motherboard with a phenom 8450 and want to update the bios, aside from using a windows 98/me boot disc the only other option is live update/live update online, i am having countless errors and pop up boxes when trying to use either of these and am getting rather frustrated, i get everything from mmio errors to runtime errors and wondows randomly shutting down because of a conflict with uac, if anyone has used these or knows how i can update the bios in vista x64 i would be really grateful
Never ever use live update! Although MSI still offers that tool running a live update tool and upgrading an online bios is considered very risky. We have countless issues with live update. Problem is that any windows issue while updating could kill your board. In addition most live update applications won't work in vista64 because it restricts bios access for apps except those optimized for vista64.
Updating with a win98 boot disc/disk is still the safest way. Also you can use the forum's amazing usb flash tool which is very safe: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=108079.0

I have one of the first N80's released by Orange with firmware v3.0614.0.3. When I went to update it recently, it said there was no updates available.
I'm sure that recent N80's from Orange have a newer version, so why is it not available to download on the NSU. It must have been approved by Orange, otherwise it wouldn't already be on their phones.

With regard to our conversation on 9th October 2006, I can advise that after contacting our Local Office and investigating with Orange direct, the software version of V4.0623 has now been approved, however, as stated previously, it can still take upto 6 weeks before Club Nokia Service Points will have this available for updates to be applied. Furthermore, as advised previously, Nokia Corporation cannot guarantee that the Third Party GPS module you intend to use after the update will be compatible with the newer software, regardless of the information provided at time of purchase, and would therefore advise you to contact them, after the update, if you have any further issues with compatibility. It appears that Orange OKed the software on Friday and now it will take 2-3 weeks to integrate the software modules together plus some more time, for an undisclosed reason, to get it out to us. -
Smart playlists not updating live after 3.1.1 upgrade
Same discussion started back in February about the 3.0 update (http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=9937797)
I thought for sure live updating would work properly with such an update from 3.0 -> 3.1.1, but no luck! I guess it takes more than 7 months to fix this.
As a refresher -- if you have a smart playlist that includes a "not played in the last xx days" condition, the old OS (2.2.1) would automatically remove a played song from the smart playlist on the iPod so your playlist is always valid. However, in 3.0 and 3.1.1, the iPod does not automatically recalculate the smart playlist and you have to sync with iTunes to get the song to be removed.I have discovered a workaround for this issue. As with most workarounds, it's not too pretty, but it gets you there.
Knowing that live updating smart playlists that refer to other playlists won't properly update on the iPod, and taking advantage of the fact that iTunes 9 now allows for nested logic in smart playlists, we can make a complex nested logic smart playlist that live updates on the iPod as long as it doesn't refer to another playlist. In place of referring to another playlist, refer to some metadata instead. The cleanest metadata tag in my opinion is "Category." It is metadata that does not by default display in playlist view (you can enable it under the View menu), and is not visible when selecting Get Info on a track. You can use the excellent "Enter Category Text for Selected v1.1" script to enter Category tags, available at http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=entercategorytext . Just enter the name of the playlist the track is contained in for the Category tag.
I'll give an example of how this works. Let's say you have a long playlist named "day" containing certain tracks you like to listen to when the sun is out. You want to create an intelligent and self-updating megamix playlist of tracks only from the "day" playlist that will play songs you haven't heard, as well as songs you've heard and have rated. As an added smartness, you want to hear the tracks you've rated higher more often than the tracks with a lower rating. You want this new "day mix" playlist to live update properly on your iPod touch.
First you'll need to tag all your "day" playlist songs. Download and install the "Enter Category Text for Selected v1.1" script mentioned above. Select all the songs in the "day" playlist, run the script, and enter "day" for the Category.
Now you can make the smart playlist. In iTunes 9, create a new Smart Playlist. Using the new nested logic in iTunes 9 smart playlists, select the following conditions:

You should find that the new "day mix" smart playlist properly live updates on your iPod touch.
As with any workaround, there are troubling aspects. One is that you'll need to constantly update your metadata tag of choice (Category, in my example) each time you add new tracks to a source regular playlist on your iPod. I'm also unsure about overloading the metadata with a number of tags in the case where tracks co-exist on multiple playlists. Also be aware that smart playlists like this tend to hang the iPod for several minutes with the "Updating Library" screen, so be prepared to be patient.
I hope this is of use to someone. Please post any streamlining suggestions for this workaround. -

I need help regarding updating my N80 otherwise it will continue to sleep in the drawer....
I bought an N80 3 days ago but it was really really slow. After reading the forums I learnt that I may update it.
Checked my ver. it was 3.06...
I installed PC Suite 6.84 and NSU from Nokia site. Then;
PC suite takes ages to connect to my phone via USB original cable from the box. At last it says, found but icon on the bottom left in PCS says no connection, anyway when I click update software via PCs it runs NSU and starts to update.
At first, NSU found latest firmware for my phone is V5.07 and downloaded something like 64.8 MB then started to update my phone on the next step but I never touched the phone or the pc but when the status bar was about %80, suddenly NSU gave the message "connection to phone lost" then on the next step it said, remove the battery then replace then click retry, I did it but then I got the message, update cancelled.
Then when the phone opened it was showing the new version but I think it is not completely updated because when I hit menu button, or multimedia button a blank screen comes, then phone restarts...
I tried to update again and again, always the same...
Do you have any proposal? (I will take to to service this weekend)

How can I keep my bookmarks updated live in Firefox & Chrome on the same PC?
I use both Firefox & Chrome on my notebook. I have a huge number of bookmarks set up & up until now I have to export/import my bookmarks between Firefox & Chrome on the same notebook on a regular basis to ensure that any updates or changes I make when using Chrome or Firefox are updated. This is very time consuming & means that either one or the other (FF or Chr.) are never truly synchronised or up to date.
Is there an easy way to ensure that any changes I make when using FF or Chr. are updated on a "live" or real time basis?
FYI - I do not wish to "sync" this data to any other hardware.You can use Xmarks to synchronize bookmarks between Firefox and Chrome on the same PC. <br />

13.1 Update: Live View is Borked
My live view is borked as of 13.1 update. The design I was working with renders properly on my phone, properly in Chrome, but renders with a horizontal scroll bar in Dreamweaver CC live view. It's really quite annoying. Is there a fix coming?
-JUnfortunately, I can't. I'm working on a localhost staging server. The deal is: the design I'm working on is a responsive design. I've tested the scrolling issues in all of the major browsers and none of them seem to be having a problem with this design. Just CC.
It seems to think my site is just 10-20px wider than it really is. I'm playing with some more CSS rules to see if I can find the one causing issues. -

but the disaster was when I visit the Nokia Service senter at syria-hama- Mabco "I get the adress from Nokia website" they said that the new N80 is Music Edition and there is No Internet Edition??????!!!!!!!

DW Template not updating live pages.
When i change the naviagtion bar on my template page, DW updates all the local pages without problem.
Now when i change and upload (just) the template file it does not change the pages on the remote site, it did used too though !
From what I have read I should be re-uploading all the local pages to the remote site after every change to the template.
I haven't had to do it this way so far, so can anyone tell me what as changed.
It all used to be so quick and easy i.e change template nav. bar - upload the DWT file - all remote pages updated.
But now having to upload every page after a small change to the template file is a real bore.
Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm running Windows 8 Pro (RTM -> TechNet). Everything seemed OK the first day of use. Now onto the next day, I can't "Sign In" to any of the Xbox Apps and the Bing Weather app doesn't update its Live Tile with local weather. Other tiles/apps like Finance
appear to be fine.

I am able to sign-in to the SkyDrive App without issue, and the Store App works fine as well. I have tried uninstalling Games, Music, and Video apps and reinstalling to correct the issue, no dice.
My Microsoft Account still signs into this site, my regular Xbox, iPad Xbox App, and Windows Phone just fine. What is up with Windows 8? I decided to try Armed! and it reported a difference in Time when creating my profile for the game and I was like.. hmmm. So I went ahead and hit Internet
Time settings (under Date and Time in Control Panel) and did a Update Now with time.windows.com. I am now able to login on all the apps I was having issues with before where it was stuck at "Signing In". -
Error message "Update, Live update" missing pieces
When i turn my computer on, it comes on but I'm getting an error message saying there are missing pieces, reinstall Live Update
I just installed leopard on my macbook pro last week. I was told that in order to bring it up to the current operating system i need to install leopard then snow leopard then lion and that is what I was trying to do. The computer still comes on but what does this mean and what should I do?

Check if that billing document is there in VFX3 . If it is there then try to clear it from there and then try to reverse it.

GeneI'm not getting it to load at all in IE6 or Opera 7.50, so let's try another way. LU2 is uninstalled now, and I'm looking for the link to LU3. Search on "live update" gives a long list starting with KT6Vs. My question is whether LU3 itself is standard across products or are there different versions? i've handed down my past iphones to kids. now it appears those devices are taking up storage on my icloud. if delete the devices off my icloud, will the backed up information (photos, etc) go away too?

Time Machine launches when macbook resumes from sleep
I want Time Machine/Capsule to only backup once a day. I changed the com.apple.backupd-auto.plist and this works fine. The problem I see now is whenever I close the laptop lid the Laptop goes into sleep/hibernation. When I open the laptop the syste
