Orange UK Problems

I live in Hackney, London, U.k. Until recently my Orange iPhone has been great in the signal department but over the past two weeks it has been getting worse and worse. I have been in many situations where friends o2 have full signal and I have almost none. Today the phone says 'No Service' if I have 3g on. Is it my phone? Have Orange reached a point where the iPhone is killing their network?
I also took a train to Norwich and had almost no 3g for the whole journey (signal in Norwich was pretty bad too).

So eventually found out that orange 3g masts are down in my area... supposed to be fixed now, but still not brilliant. I was in Cardiff today (centre of city) with 'no service'. Don't think i'll be sticking with orange when my contract is up.

has any one else got a problem connecting via wi fi to an ornage livebox? ive been told that there is security on the livebox which means i have to give it the wi fi address of my new 3g ophone but i dont now how to do this, orange cant help at all. when i accesss the livebox configuration pages and select associated devices only my exsisting iphone appears which has a different wi fi address. my 3g phone can see the livebox but cant access it when i click the blue arrow next to the livebox symbol all the fields ie. bootip and sttaic, are empty..? HELP!!

A few things that can confuse your iPod and keep it from reconnecting are:
    1. Not broadcasting your network name (SSID). Not broadcasting provides minimal security so turning it back on, wouldn't hurt. The alternative is to reset your touch network connections and then log onto your network via Settings > WiFi > Other and re-enter everything.
    2. Old routers/old router firmware - these things can cause all kinds of problems from not handling DHCP correctly to not functioning correctly with various encryption schemes. If there is an update available from Orange, I suggest you download and install it for your router.

  • 3 orange lights problem

My 2nd gen shuffle is playing up, it plays music fine but when I connect it to my computer the light flashes orange 3 times the nothing. It doesn't charge up, and it cannot be found in Windows Explorer or Itunes.
Is there a fix for this or is my shuffle fubard?

This indicates a problem with the USB port(s)... what other USB devices are attached to your computer?
Try this: Shut down your computer and disconnect the power plug from power strip or wall socket for up to 5 minutes. Then reboot and try the shuffle after computer starts up.
The above procedure causes the USB controller to be completely reset.

  • HELP! Package with orange, registration problem, setup wizard pages not found and email problems!

I got my blackberry 2 days ago (I'd never had one in the past) and the sales advisor told me I would need the 'blackberry package' for £5 a month and being the fool that I am I agreed without asking for more information on what it included etc. I can get on the internet using my home wifi or any other free wifi connection I happen upon, but cannot use applications such as Facebook for Blackberry without being confronted with a message claiming 'You are currently on a service plan that does not support this application. Please contact your service provider for additional information or to upgrade your current service plan.' I had thought that the package I had been given would be for this, does anyone know how long it should take before the package is activated?
Also, when visiting www.blackberry.orange.co.uk and asked to give my PIN and IMEI it claims that it is currently registered with a different service provider. Has anyone else found this or know a way to fix it?
Actually, while I'm here, when running the setup wizard a lot of the pages come up with HTTP ERROR, PAGE CANNOT BE FOUND and when attempting to set up my email I only have the options to 'i want to use a work email account with a blackberry enterprise server' or 'i want to skip email setup'. How would I set up a hotmail email account?

the blackberry package is a good thing. the problem is that is seems you have had problems creating your BIS Account. Call Orange UK hotline and explain your issue. It's their job to make everything work. especially since you are a new customer.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Do you have a data plan with your carrier?
Send yourself a PIN message, if you get it your data plan is in place,
if not, your data plan is not provisioned correctly.
On your second question what are you trying to do as far as " desktop media thingys"
You will need to download desktop software I can help if you tell me what you need.
I have attached the manual for the 8900 in case you do not have one.

  • Wi-Fi to Orange Livebox Problem

Can anyone help me connect my ipt to my Orange livebox?? My ipod finds the livebox but i put the wep key in and it just says unable to connect!! I've put the code in numerous times and made sure the livebox is available for new connections but can't seem to conquer it!!
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance
    Ryan

Hi. Switch on the Wi-fi connection on the Ipod touch, and wait until it finds your network. Type in your WEP kep (make sure you have 'caps on' at the appropriate letters), but DON'T connect just yet. At the back of the Livebox are 2 buttons numbered one and two. Press button one (called the pairing button), and the 'pairing light' on the Livebox should begin to flash slowly. When it does, tap 'connect' on your Ipod Touch and wait. That should allow you to connect to the Livebox anytime, and you shouldn't have to do the pairing again. Next time you switch on the Wifi on the Touch, it will automatically connect to your Livebox and you can surf the web.
Lastly, make sure you have the latest software on the Ipod Touch, Version 1.1.1.
    Hope that helps.

  • E65 orange reception problem

    Hi,
Please can someone help me, my E65 reception flicks between full reception to only 2-3 bars or less in a few seconds without me moving. The orange shop have said as usual that it's a phone issue and needs to be repaired. Does this sound right or has the Orange reception got worse. I live in Worthing West Sussex Area.
    Thanks

Orange are doing their usual trick of blaming the manufacturer.
It's most likely the signal in your area. You need to try your phone in a different area to find out for sure if it's the phone or network. It's usually orange's dodgy 3G signal that causes the trouble.
If it is the phone thats at fault do not pay orange to fix it. A nokia care point will fix it for free whilst it is covered by nokia's 2 year European warranty.

  • WRT54GS Orange light problem

Hi, I've had the WRT54 for about 6 months and has been working fine until now. I have my router connected wirelessly to my laptop and computer. The router is connected to my DSL modem. I just installed Vista and reformatted my laptop and then tried to connect my laptop to the router. This is where everything went terribly wrong. After trying to establish a connection between my laptop and router, the Cisco Systems logo went orange. Originally my laptop had the LELA installed before I put on Vista. I tried connected to my router with my laptop forgetting that I didn't have LELA installed onto it anymore. I have updated the firmware on my router. I have tried resetting the router for 30 seconds and then updating the firmware. I have tried to install the Vista LELA with no success. I don't know what to do anymore. It is driving me crazy!! Any help would be appreciated. Jag

EVERY time you plug it in while it's already charged to
80% or more the shuffle enters a "trickle charge" mode
which can take a seemingly, excruciatingly long time to complete.
Make sure your computer doesn't sleep during when the shuffle
    is plugged in for charging.

Could it be a DC in board?

  • Ironport C170 hard disk orange light problem

    hi,
I have a new C170, there're 2*250G hard disk ,RAID 1, I had see the specification ,C170 support hot-swappable.At first, both hard disk is green. but when I remove one of them, and then install back soon, The hard disk light change to orange, but the system still can operate.
May I know this hard disk is bad? In fact, C170 isnot support hot-swappable hard disk?
    Thanks a lot!!

Found on Cisco Website..to insert the drive the unit needs to be off. The light is amber while the RAID array is being rebuilt. Read below.
The Raid on the Cisco Web Security Applicance S170 or Cisco Email Security Appliance C170 is software based, it is hot removable but it is not hot insertable.
The drive can be removed while the power is turned on, so as to be certain which drive LED indicates failure.
The replacement drive should not be inserted, while the power is turned on.
    Procedure:
    1. Confirm which drive that has failed, by looking at the front panel drive LED that is amber/red.
    LED
    besides
    0
    refer to the
    bottom drive
    failure and needing replacement.
    LED
    besides
    1
    refer to the
    top drive
    failure and needing replacement.
    2. While the power is turned on, press the button for the drive cage, to release the faulty drive.
    3. Shutdown the Security Appliance
    4. Insert the replacement drive into the drive cage.
    5. Power on the Security Appliance
The Replacement drive will have amber light on it, while the raid is being rebuilt.

  • MY IPOD IS BLINKING ORANGE/GREEN! HELP!!!!

HELP! when i turn on my ipod suffle it blinks green and orange so i try to restore it. ok i try that and my computer gets stuck everytime. i try to do the same thing from another computer and it still gets stuck! but mind you when i put my ipod in the computer my computer read it but not itunes. n my computer charges it to. i need help. can anybody help me PLEASE!!!

Ok I'm back this time with the solution!!!! to the yellow orange lights problem. It appears to be a problem with the software not the ipod!! I use the software real player which supports ipods I went to "my computer" and found the ipod (usually "my name ipod" I the open the drive, yes your ipod is recognize under windows as a drive. I backed up the songs in to a folder (my song) and deleted all folders in the ipod. Note: the folders in the ipod are hidden you have to go to "tools" then "folder options" then "view" and make sure you select "view hidden files and foldes" you will then see all folders, delete them all!
Open your real player software, do not syncronize just open the folder where you saved all your songs copy them and paste them under burn/transfer. I had my son's ipod working in a flash! I suggest not using itunes software until Apple fixes this problem, I think once you delete the itune files in your ipod you can use any software to add songs in to your ipod, good luck!

  • Macbook Pro charger light is orange.

Macbook Pro charger light is orange. I has always been green before. This time I got a "low battery" warning at about 20%. When I plugged in charger it went immediately to zero and the light is orange. Problem?

Note that if your machine has a built-in battery, it doesn't need to be calibrated.

  • My 2g is going nuts :(

First I started having this green.orange.green problem with my unit. And now it will not even let me connect it to a USB port on my MacBook! When I connect it it gives me the "this USB has low power" warning (I think similar warning to the ones you get when you try to connect something power hungry to the USB mouse slot on an iMac keyboard) ... yea, but this is on a laptop people! So now my shuffle is umm, room decoration I guess, what the heck?

tried both ports on my MacBook, and I also tried connecting my other iPod (5g video) to make sure it isn't the laptop.
Cable appeared to have been working for the shuffle the last time I was charging it. What's the deal
