Orange UK unlock

my friend bought his iphone at Orange UK, i do not live in the UK but i want to unlock this mobile so i will be able to use it. is that possible?

IF anyone gives or sells a UK network/sim locked Iphone -They must do the unlock before dispatching it.
If the Iphone is outside of the UK -Orange (EE) will NOT unlock it period.
If it remains in the UK and in the hands of the original and registered owner with a minimum of three months service they are able to unlock the iPhone and process is as follows:
ONLY “Orange (EE) ” mobile can unlock your iPhone
First and formost YOU must be the account holder  to which the iPhone is registered otherwise they WILL NOT process the unlock .
The process is simple:-
1 . Phone “Orange (EE) customer services and request unlock subject to qualifying period typically 3 months on contract [Revenue protection to recoup some of the subsidy]
2, .You will asked to confirm handset iMEi number - they check this using location equipment and the phone must be switched on and connected to the Orange (EE) network within the UK so you can't make it up !
3. Pay unlock fee typically £20.00
4.  Your network “Orange (EE)” forwards your iMEi to Apple to white list on their iTunes server - the mobile operator is notified by Apple when this is completed (this can take anything from 3 days to several weeks)
5. The mobile operator “Orange (EE)” sends the registered user a text or E-mail inviting them to connect the iPhone to their iTunes account on a computer via a USB cable.
6.  Follow on screen prompts in iTunes (on your computer) until the Congratulations you have successfully unlocked your iPhone notification
7. The registered Orange (EE) sim card can now be removed and replaced another supported sim card.
However its over yet:-
Caveat you may have difficulty getting SMS/MMS texting to “send” due to the APN settings on some networks.
Some sims may give you access to a hidden menu feature that allows you to set the correct APN manually however others don't.
Those that don't won't let you send SMS/MMS -however you may receive them - Be warned !

  • I have tried for the last 3 months to get my pay as you go Orange phone unlocked

Hi,I hope someone is able to help.I have been trying for 3 months to have my pay as you go Orange phone unlocked. It is a Samsung F480.On three separate occasions I have rang customer services and have been assured they would sort it in a couple of weeks. No further communication was received each time. Then I tried our local EE shop in town. The staff left me in no doubt that there was no way they could help and I needed to contact customer service again.Three weeks ago I filled an online request, got an acknowledgement, and waited again. After ten days I was asked to redo my online because the IMEI number was not correct. I dispute that.Anyway I resubmitted my request, again after 10 days I have another text my IMEI number is not correct.I have obtained the IMEI number again by dialing *#06# how do I submit it to my application to unlock? There is no way I can find to do this. I have given up with customer service.Forgot to mention I have the required £8.99 in credit to pay for unlocking. Please help.

Hi James B,Thank you so much for your reply, after 3 months of silence I appreciate someone trying to help.I have contacted customer service again to check my IMEI number on record and it was the same one I found on my phone. The customer service rep was very sympathetic and (again) assured me he would personally sort it out.I accepted his assurance (again) because I am at a loss to do otherwise. However one thing which was differenr this time. A lady rang back within 5 minutes asking if I was happy with the service. I had to say I was reserving judgement. Again she assured me she would be in touch in a couple of days.Hopefully this time I may get a result. I will report back in a few days when I know for sure.Thank you again for your assistance it is much appreciated.Regards,ds0lpu

  • Orange have unlocked my 3gs for me but facebook fails to load

i have paid orange to unlock my iphone 3gs but when sync'ing it will not accept the facebook app

Unlocking of the iPhone has nothing to do with syncing apps. The current Facebook app requires iOS 5 which will not run on an iPhone 3G, so unless you previously downloaded a copy of the old Facebook app that was compatible with iOS 4.2.1 and stil have a copy, you will have to use Safari and connect to Facebook's mobile web page.

  • Orange UK Unlock Issues

Orange  UK have told me to unlock my iPhone I have to go to an Apple Store, but they said they won't do it, Orange has to, what should I do?

Only the original carrier can unlock a locked iPhone.
Apple will not unlock a iPhone if you purchased a carrier lock iPhone, the original carrier have to do it.
If you purchased your phone at Orange they will have to do it for you if you qualified for it.
iF you purchased form someone else, you need to contact them.
In some countries like UK, Mexico, France, Canada you can purchase a unlock iPhone, but you will pay full price.
There is a difference between unlock iPhone and no-contract iPhone, the no contract iPhone is locked to a particular carrier but at the time of purchase you chose not to sign the contract, you can do it later, but the phone will be lock to that particular carrier.
A unlock iPhone is a factory unlock equipment and can be purchased only at Apple directly and can be used with any carrier around the world that have support for the iPhone.
Be careful, where you will purchased your phone. the majority of carriers will not unlock a locked phone.

If it is Orange Uk then no surprises
They locked it originally and it is their gift to unlock ....usually in their own time.
This is how it should work

  • I am trying to unlock my iphone from Orange to "3".

I have requested the neccessary details from Orange. And paid for it.
I have followed the instructions but the phone will NOT activate either by phone itself or iTunes.
I have tried it with an Orange card in and also a 3 card.
Its pathetic that something is made so difficult to do.
I need help with this as it is driving me mad.
I have also looked all over the internet and this is a very common probem
    Help please

Did you follow the steps exactly in the email you got from Orange
to unlock the iPhone? At the end of those steps, did iTunes give you
the message 'Congratulations. Your iPhone is now unlocked''?
If you did not get that message, your iPhone is still locked and only
    Orange can resolve the matter.
If you did get that message before the update, repeat all the steps again
to see if it will unlock now - you may have to do this multiple times for
    it to work.
What does it say when you look at Settings=?General=>About=>Carrier?

  • Is it possible to unlock a orange iphone4?

I have a iphone4 bought in the UK from Orange, now i want to change to another carrier, and the Orange carrier not allow me to do so, can anyone help me with this?

If the iPhone is locked to Orange, only Orange can unlock it.
There is no other way. You have to work with Orange. Why did
Orange say they would not unlock it for you?

Why do Orange and EE blame Apple for the delays in unlocking my iPhone. 10 months now. What is the exact process that these companies have to go through to unlock an iPhone and is Apple in any way to blame for the delays.
Indeed how long does Apple take to carry out its part of the process.
It seems to me that Orange are just trying to stall me despite the fact that I am out of contract with them now.  I originally paid to have the phone unlocked back last November.  This was never done.
I have phoned them numerous times over the last two months but still they haven't done it.  Can anyone advise me and has anyone had similar problems with them.
    Thanks

I certainly understand that only Orange can unlock my phone.  My annoyance is that they blame Apple so I am keen to know what exactly is Apple's involvement.
I presume that Orange have to tell Apple that the phone has been authorised for unlocking by Orange and that Apple then notes that in some way on iTunes so that the user can then complete the process on iTunes.
What I would like to know is how much time Apples part in this process takes.
I would also like to make contact with others who have had similar problems.
    Many thanks

  • How to get factory unlock for iphone 4s in india..iphone 4s is from  spain on orange network..

how to get factory unlock for iphone 4s in india..iphone 4s is from  spain on orange network..

Well, you've got a real mess on your hands with no easy solution. See, you're gonna have to go back to Spain to activate your phone on Orange's network, then request Orange to unlock it. You won't be able to do anything with that phone but use it as a paperweight until you do so. And no, Apple can't help you, nor can anyone here. Good luck.

  • I have an iphone 3gs on orange the contract has expired can i unlock it to use an o2 sim in it?

  • Unlocking an iPhone 5 bought from Apple, locked to Orange

Hi all, hope someone here can help me.
I bought my mum a 2nd hand iPhone 5 for Chrsitmas. The phone was bought from Apple directly so was unlocked but the bloke used his contract Orange sim in it for a few weeks. That sim is no out of contract and the bloke has left them.
My mum wants to use her 3 PAYG sim in it but Orange have now locked it which seems harsh seeing as the phone was never in contract with them, just the sim was.
I have submitted a form through Orange/EE website to get it unlocked which can take up to 20 days. As the phone number used to lock the phone is no longer in use I'm just wondering how this works now? I've had an email confirmation to say they ahve recieved the request and to await a further email in 20 days.
Can we not take the phone to Apple to get it unlocked or do we have to wait for Orange? Seems silly that they have sim locked it even thought the phone was never on contract with them.
Hope this has made sense to someone and that someone can hopefully give me some advice!

    ONLY Orange can unlock it.
    No one else at all.

Whoever you talked to at Orange was completely wrong. Only Orange can unlock the iPhone.

You'll need to contact Orange again and try to get someone who knows what they're talking about.

  • How can I use an 02 SIM on my iphone 4s which was originally on Orange?

    Hi,
I purchased an iPhone  4S approx 2 years ago from Carphone Warehouse on Orange/EE. At the end of the 2 years I decided to leave Orange and use O2. I called up Orange to unlock my phone but they told me as the phone was purchased from Carphone Warehouse they cannot unlock it. I went to Carphone Warehouse and they said they do not unlock phones.
I've looked online and found this link :
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5014
I restored my phone and the my O2 sim does still not work. I get this message now:
    "SIM Not Valid
The SIM card that you currently have installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currerntly assigned by the activation server. This is not a a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request this iPhone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information".
So now I am stumped on what to do next - it seems impossible for me to get this phone unlocked. I've spoken to market phone vendors and they are all quoting me £120 - which seems pointless.
If anyone has any advice or suggestion I would greatly appreciate it!
    Many thanks,

Jailbreaking is not done to attract malware and possibility and in most cases it is not the case. You are supposedly assuming that jailbreaking is done as jailbreakers "like malware". Your statement is wrong as in essence, jailbreaking your iPhone means freeing it from the limitations imposed on it by your carrier, whether that's AT&T or Verizon, and Apple. It lets you do everything from customizing the look of your iPhone to installing third-party applications (such as titles that are not authorized and available in the App Store) and customized ringtones on it. Depending on how far you're willing to go, you can do even more than that: Jailbreaking even lets you to unlock your phone so you can use it with a carrier other than the one from which you purchased it and in my case you can enable continuity.
The statement was in the spirit of irony. And no, I do not assume users jailbreak because they actually want malware. However, jailbreaking does indeed make the device far more susceptible to such, and it also occurs far more than you seem to think.

  • IPhone 4 (Orange UK)

Well, I've made a mistake of buying a 3gs from Orange on May 2th. On a side note... Orange doesn't have any return policy!
After using the Orange website, it's acknowledged that I'm not eligible to upgrade, obviously. But it's mentioned that I can buy an additional phone (iPhone 4) to my existing contract if I don't want to wait. The issue is that... I'm just wondering how would that work...
Or is there any other alternative?
    Thanks in advance!

Wrong Orange WILL SELL you a new phone however it will be FULL PRICE unsubsidised and the same price you would pay for a lost/damaged and uninsured replacement.
Currently that works out at the Pay as You Go price PLUS penalty or your BUY OUT YOUR CONTRACT and thats going to be VERY EXPENSIVE either way expect something north of £600.00.
Your best option would be to load onto your 3GS ios4 in a fortnights time and hold onto to it at least to the autumn and get some more of your contract paid back.
At the three month period Orange WILL unlock your 3GS for a fee of £20.00 and you can consider Ebaying it as an officially network unlocked iphone for several hundreds .
Do some calcs and you MAY be able to afford a Pay As YOU Go unit.
Trim you current sim and activate using your current account , storing the new sim in a draw , or using with an iPad 3G perhaps ?
