I am using a lexical parameter and I have a AFTERPFORM
function AfterPForm return boolean is
begin
IF :Type = 'All' THEN

END IF;
IF :Type ='NonCapital' THEN
:Type := '(''Standard'',''Blanket'',''Commodity'',''Invtyreq'',''Service'',''SMPO'')';
END IF;
IF :Type ='Capital' THEN
:Type :='(''Capital'')';
END IF;
Return(TRUE);
end;
The SQL should look like this after the parameter has been entered.
( p.purchase_type in ('Capital','Standard','Blanket','Commodity','Invtyreq','Service','SMPO'));
If the user slects All as a parm.

Hi All,
I applied SQL server 2008 R2 SP3 recently but report builder doesn't work since then
When click on report builder gives error like 'Application validation did not succeed. Unable to continue.
and when I try to see details the error summary like following:
+File, Microsfot.ReportingServices.ComponentLibrary.Controls.dll, has a different computed hash than specified in manifest.
this is urgent.
Please reply me asap.
thanks a lot in advance.

Regards, NamanHi nikp11,
According to your description, you recently updated SQL Server 2008 R2 to SP3, Report Builder doesn’t work since then the error occurs: "Application validation did not succeed. Unable to continue".
This is an known issue in SSRS 2008 R2 SP3 that Microsoft has published an article addressing this issue. It is not planning to release a fix for this issue. But we could implement one of the following workarounds:
Install and run Report Builder 3.0 of SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM.
Install and run Report Builder of SQL Server 2014.
Uninstall Service Pack 3 then uninstall Service Pack 2 and then reinstall Service Pack 3.
Reference:
Report Builder of SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 3 does not launch
Thank you for your understanding.

Getting zero-sized reply error when running report from SQL query
Hi,
I have a Report from SQL Query in Portal. When I select Excel in Output Format and then run the report, it works properly, but when I select HTML in Output Format, the report works if the rows returned are not so many (I've been able to display the report for up to 701 rows), but when I try selecting a value from the LOV that selects many rows, I get the following error:
ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved
While trying to retrieve the URL: <data suppressed>
The following error was encountered:
Zero Sized Reply
Squid did not receive any data for this request.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Why does the number of rows returned affect the report this way?
Thanks,
LorenaProblem comes when any of the filter is applied in any one of the cases selected from the GUI.Do you mean that the problems only shows when you run the report in your browser via 9iAS?
Which version are you using?
Can you post the before report trigger? -

nullHi, I4m not sure, but maybe it works,in WHEN OTHERS zone, to make commit after the insert in the table where you want the errors to log. You can make commit in a trigger if you specify in the declaration zone of the trigger:

Trying to produce report but have ERROR ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement
Hi,
I am new to Oracle so have been experimenting with a few things to get the hang of it. I have been trying to produce a report, but keep getting the error: ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement.
This happens at my first line of code where I have COLUMN <column_name> HEADING <Heading_name>
So I am a bit confused - is there a command that I am supposed to issue that indicates to SQL*Plus that I am trying to create a report?
Also, if I just delete the COLUMN <column_name> HEADING <Heading_name> rows and just start at BREAK ON <column_name> SKIP 1, it produces the same error.
I am using Oracle 8.0.6 - does this make a difference?
Here is my code:
COLUMN a.p_ctryid HEADING 'Country'
COLUMN s.p_animid HEADING 'Stallion ID'
COLUMN s.p_uname HEADING 'Stallion Name'
COLUMN a.p_animid HEADING 'Horse ID'
COLUMN d.p_careertp HEADING 'Career'
BREAK ON s.p_animid SKIP 1
BREAK ON d.p_careertp SKIP 2
COMPUTE SUM LABEL 'Total' OF d.p_careertp ON REPORT
SELECT DISTINCT a.p_ctryid, s.p_animid, s.p_uname, a.p_animid, d.p_careertp
FROM p_owby.p_animal a, p_owby.p_animal s, p_owby.p_mating m, p_owby.p_anim_dtl d
WHERE m.p_mateyr = 2001
AND a.p_animid = d.p_animid
AND a.p_animid = m.p_animid
AND a.p_animid > 0
AND s.p_animid = a.p_sire
AND a.p_ctryid IN('GB','IRE')
GROUP BY a.p_ctryid, s.p_animid, s.p_uname, d.p_careertp, a.p_animid
ORDER BY a.p_ctryid, s.p_animid, d.p_careertp
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!You are trying to do COMPUTE SUM ... ON REPORT but there is no BREAK ON REPORT specified. The computed sum will not be shown unless you also break on report. see below demonstration. first select has no sum even though we have specified COMPUTE. The second select shows the sum since now we have done break on report.

Rep-1401: formula name : Fatal Pl/SQL error occured
Hi,
I am using report builder 6.0 and recently came across a error while running the report. Rep-1401:<formula name> : Fatal Pl/SQL error occured.
I created a formula column in the report. In that i have three local variable.
f_val number := 0;
s_val number := 0;
t_val number := 0;
t_val := f_val/s_val ; --> this gives the above fatal error.
t_val := (f_val + 1)/s_val; --> this gives the above fatal error
t_val := f_val/(s_val + 1); ---> no error
if i change the value of s_val
s_val := 1;
t_val := f_val/(s_val - 1) ; ----> this gives the above fatal error.
Can anyone help me to solve this problem or is it report builder bug.
Please help me, as i desperately need help.
ThanksThanks for ur reply.
I used nvl too, but the same error occurred.
For the information in my question I by mistake typed
t_val := (f_val + 1)/s_val; --> this gives the above fatal error.
but when the value of f_val = zero and s_val is zero why it gives fatal error when i divide, i used nvl on both the variable while dividing but still got the same error.
but if s_val is greater than zero then no error occurs.
please help me, I feel it is a bug. -

ThanksThe best way to handle this is to just add an exception handler that handles a zero divide.
EX:
function...blah
var3:=var/var2...
EXCEPTION
when zero_divide then
var3:= 0;Zero Divide is a built-in exception to handle cases just like this - so if you run into it, you can set it to whatever you want -

Hello,
strange, you have the same message in SQL Server forum, but we can see Oracle DB here:
SQL ERROR
Without developer traces it would be difficult to say. But it looks bad enough because of kernel 6.20 patch level 1511 (definitely dboraslib.dll has similar patch level) and Oracle 8.1.7 are out of support since years.
best regards -

krishnaiah.Hi,
This is usually a SERVER SIDE DATABASE PROBLEM or SQLNET LISTENER (server side) PROBLEM. The client side should initially be ignored and instead the server should be investigated. In rare cases, this can be caused by client
side memory or other resource problem, or a DLL version mismatch, but this is
unlikely.
Enlist the assistance of your DBA. Then reproduce the ORA-3113 error on your
client application. Ask your DBA to look at the database side Alert.log and
trace files and look for ANY activity. Any activity that coincides with your
ORA-3113 will be a clue.
