Orchestrator HA
I have followed below article to build an HA Orchestrator Console environment:

Everything works fine, but I get following error as soon as I Login:
"Error executing the current operation.
Cannot connect to the Orchestrator Web Service. Possible reason(s):
- the service is down
- invalid service URL
- access denied"
I have tried following as well:

With no luck.
Any suggestions.
Actually, above two have worked for strange reason this time. But, I am getting two prompts where when I provide the SMA user name and password, console works fine.
Is this normal to be prompted twice when accessing NLB-ed Orchestrator Console. BTW, I am also logged in with the same SMA Administrator User that I provide when I am prompted for User Name and Password. Is this normal?
I am no longer getting any error fyi.

byzyou have to pull the midi loops on an audio track, and they will sound like you hear them in the loop browser, i guess the designers made that on purpose so you can fool around with your own settings, and kind of making me itch to find out how they did it.

Symphonic Orchestra in logic 8?
I have just made the change from logic pro 7 to 8. In logic 7 if i wished to use Eastwests symphonic orchestra I would load in a few instruments into the module, create several software instrument tracks, assign them all to the same instrument, and then set them to the corresponding midi channels.
In logic 8 it appears not to be quite as simple. I have loaded an eastwest symphonic orchestra module into inst track 1. It has 8 instruments in the module. The problem is I cannot now set my software instrument tracks to feed midi to the same module.
Sorry if that is very garbled and doesn't make much sense. What I am really asking for is for somebody to post up a fool proof guide to setting up a Eastwest symphonic orchestra module, and having it run all 8 possible instruments on seperate tracks in the arrange window, as it is supposed to.

I'm not an EW user, but the first thing I'd check is to see if there's a new driver/add on from EW that'll enable it to work properly on the new (8) Version

Has anyone experienced difficulty installing a Jam Pack (Symphony Orchestra)? My Logic Express recognizes the loops in the loops browser, but the software instruments do not appear. I have loaded it twice, updated my version of LE...any suggestions?

I think this may be a bug. You have to change the channel in of the mod wheel or foot pedal or whatever to channel four I think it is from your midi keyboard and then it will control stacatto and legato etc. - this is different from in Garageband. If this doesn't work do a search on one of the key words and the answer should come up.

I recently downloaded the Evaluation VHD for System Center 2012 R2 Orchestrator. After performing the initial setup, I am unable to log in with the credentials that i had provided initially for the Administrator. I faced a similar situation while working
with Evaluation VHD for System Center 2012 R2 App Controller. In that case, after some searches I found 'R2Preview!' as its default password. I have already tried other passwords - P@ssword1, P@ssword, p@ssword1, password1, blank password.

How to reject ACK/NACK from other Send Ports to Orchestration
Hi Everyone,
I have a below scenario, Please let me your ideas how can we avoid ACK from other send ports (If there is any failures), in my current scenario getting issues or conflicts because of this
AckRequired.
Key points in my scenarios
SendPort_A is pointing to SAP
SendPort_B is pointing to SQL
Flow
Receive MessageA and Transform to MessageB format, send MessageB to SendPort_A which directly bind to orchestration with transmitted property enabled.
SendPort_B subscribes the same message, output of map with message type as filter condition (we are not expecting any Acknowledge from sendPort_B, because it’s a generic send port for some scenario).
Problem
When I see the context properties both send ports has AckRequired
Property to true (so getting ACK/NACK from both send ports).
I want acknowledgement only form SendPort_A which is bind to orchestration with transmitted property enabled, but not from the SendPort_B which subscribes just with message type.
I have tried the below points but no luck
Created custom pipeline with custom pipeline component to set / overwrite
AckRequired Property to false (Pipeline component is working fine, but nothing is overwriting in context, getting acknowledge back to orchestration for any failure in SendPort_B)

Let me know if I understood correctly.
SendPort_B subscribes the same message, output of map with message type as filter condition (we are not expecting any Acknowledge from sendPort_B, because it’s a generic send port for some scenario).
Problem
You have a send port B which is subscribing to the same message using the message type.
You can set additional filters to ignore Acknowledgement-
Ex- Mgtype= "" AND
AckRequired!=True OR
AckRequired!=False

One Orchestration for Multiple ZIP file FTP Solution.
Problem:
Zip files are being generated from multiple locations on my network. I do not need to see any information in the Zip files. My goal is to pick up the files and transfer them to various external FTP servers.
Solution:
BizTalk picks up the zip file using a pass-through(file) receive port. I created an orchestration because I would like to send email based on failure/success. Inside the orchestration I am using the receive port information to assign the destination party.
The send port then filters based on destination party and sends to external FTP server.
This gives me the ability to have 1 orchestration for multiple transfers. I wanted it to be as generic as possible.
1 Orchestration - 10+ Receive Locations - 8+ External FTP Sites.
Question:
Has anyone done this before? What should I watch out for? Do I have a good solution to my problem?Yes ,
This is totally a valid business scenario were you have multiple publisher of the message and there are different subscriber( FTP sites ) for your processed message .
You can have multiple receive location inside the same receive port and also multiple send port for different message subscription .

When I load one of my own cd's onto itunes, it creates separate albums for each unique pairing (ie: singer/composer or singer/orchestra). I end up with
the cuts scattered over several albums. How do I keep all the cuts on an album together rather than divided between several albums? I'm brand new with this technology, so I need your information in simple terms. Thank-you.Generally all you need to do is fill in an appropriate Album Artist. The site could do with updating as some options have changed with iTunes 11, but the principles are the same.

Can DISABLE preProcess Event Handler add to the Orchestration parameters?
I have a DISABLE pre-process event handler defined on the User object. I need to set the current date on a USR UDF attribute whenever the user is disabled or enabled or created. The CREATE handler works and the date value shows up on the user profile. However, when I try to set this attribute on the pre-process DISABLE or ENABLE event handlers, the new date does not show up. Here is the code I am using in my DISABLE/ENABLE event handler:
Date currentTime = new Date(System.currentTimeMillis());
orchestration.addParameter(USER_STATUS_DATETIME_ATTR_NAME, currentTime);
Where the orchestration object is from the execute() parameter list.
Any ideas as to why this is not working? Is adding to the orchestration not allowed for DISABLE or ENABLE event handlers? I know my handler is getting calls as I am logging the orchestration.getOperation() value.

How to get interchange id in custom pipeline and in orchestration
My scenario is that I want to create a unique id for a message which should be remain unique throughout biztalk so that I can track it anywhere.
I got messageID context property of message in decoding pipeline component through IBaseMessage pInMsg.MessageID.ToString() and
got the same messageID in orchestration through messageName(BTS.MessageID) in expression shape.
But when I am using a custom disassembler component , I am unable to get the same messageID in orchestration because disassembler stage create a new messageID.
Can I use interchangeID of message for this scenario ?
If yes,how can I get interchangeID in custom decoding component as well as in orchestration ?

How to access?
1) In your custom pipeline component you can access it
Guid interchangeID = Guid.Parse(pInMsg.Context.Read("InterchangeID","http://schemas.microsoft.com/BizTalk/2003/system-properties");
where pInMsg is your IBaseMessage.
2) In orchestration:
varGuid = System.Guid.Parse(Message_1(BTS.InterchangeID));

In BAM, how to get activity ID for the running instance in the orchestration.
I am trying to add document reference URL to the active instance in the orchestration for the activity which is already started.
Please let me know how to get such activity ID.

Jagadeesh RSAre you using TPE to set up the Activity Tracking or BAM API. If you are using TPE then identify what has been set as the Activity Id in the BTT file. If the Message Id is used then use "BTS.InterchangeID" [refer
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa562116.aspx] on the received message to get the Activity Id.
If however you've mapped the Activity Id in BTT to the InstanceId then use
"Microsoft.XLANGs.Core.Service.RootService.InstanceId"
to get the activity id.

Error message while upgrading to System Center 2012 R2 Orchestrator
I recently tried upgrading System Center 2012 Service Pack 1 Orchestrator to System Center 2012 R2 Orchestrator on a Windows Server 2012 instance, running in VMware Workstation. According to the Microsoft TechNet documentation, you basically remove all of
the Service Pack 1 Orchestrator components, and then install the new R2 Orchestrator components.

Orchestrator console and web service
So, that's what I did. When it got to the point of running the Orchestration Console and Web Service installation, it failed.
The relevant portion of WebComponents.msi log file indicates the following:

I have a simple Runbook with the following details:
Initialize Data: (First Name, Last Name, Login Name, Deparment Name) --> Create User: Name:(Domain), Common Name, Display Name, First, Last Name, SAM Account Name (From Initialize Data) --> Enable
User: Distinguished Name --> Add User to Group: Group Distinguished Name, User Distinguished Name
Active Directory Management Pack in place and the Prerequisites Configurations are added Too (Configuration User Name, Configuration Password, Configuration DC, Configuration Default OU.
The Runbook is Synched with Service Manager, Request Offering/Service Offering and published to the portal.
When I filled the 4 required values (First Name, Last Name, Login Name, Deparment Name), the Runbook will kick off and the user is created in Active Directory.
The user is placed in the Default OU which is predefined in AD Prerequisites Configurations in Orchestrator.
I need to add another Required Value to my Request Offering (SR) called User Level Enum List (Low, Medium, High).
I need to place the user in a Specific OU based on the Level entered from SSPortal, If the user is Low, then Create the user in this OU, if the user is Medium then create it in this OU, etc...
How can I do this in Orchestrator? What I want to modify in my runbook to accomplish this task?

Looking for Orchestral music tutorials
I am a starting Logic 8 express user and compose mainly classical orchestral music. Are there video tutorials that teach especially orchestral editing? I really would like to learn how to make a good recording of my music, professional spaced etc.
I don't know of any orchestral editing videos, but may I suggest that you take a look at numerous and very helpful Logic videos on YouTube? This guy knows what he's talking about and has a good sense of humor. There's lots to learn about Logic here.
Also, I don't think you need this, but here is a free online Principles of Orchestration course. Perhaps other people checking this thread might find this useful. -
Could not connector to Orchestrator web service
I am trying to create an Orchestrator connector in Service Manager 2012. I type

Consuming Orchestration Exposed WCF service On remote system.
Hello All , I am new to BizTalk, so bear with me
I have created an orchestration for Insert operation to DB and Exposed it as WCF service, finally deployed in IIS fine.
but whenever I am trying browse wsdl of service its prompting as : Network Error (dns_unresolved_hostname)
Your requested host "DomainName" could not be resolved by DNS.

I just replaced that domainName and put IP there I am able to browse my service, worked fine on Local system.
but while trying with same url replacing domainname with
IP on remote system, its throwing Exception as below

Thanks to all.Associate the domain name and the IP of the server where the service is hosted in the host file.
Goto the server where the service is hosted.
Goto the server’s host file in %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Take a backup of the host file before you edit it.
Add the following entry as the last line in the host file, replacing in it with the actual IP Domain name.
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx YourdomainName.com
where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx = IP and YourdomainName.com = domain name
