Hi,
1) For the BOM to be exploded in the sales document the following customizing setting is required.
A) If the item category group is ERLA the item category of the BOM is TAQ, in the definition of which we have to specify the value A (Explode single level BOM) in the structure scope.
B) If the item category group is LUMF the item category of the BOM item is TAP in the definition of which we have to specify the value A in the field structure scope.

I have met a problem in BOM explosion in sales order.
I have maintained the BOM with usage 5 and the conversion between header material and component of the BOM. But in the sales order entry, no matter how many qty I entered for the header material, after the BOM explosion, the qty of component is 1.

  • Bom explosion in sales order mrp(MD50)

    Hi Experts,
In sales order MRP i.e. MD50 Getting the planned orders for header material(Finished goods) generated but for raw materials (BOM items) Purchase requisitions are not getting generated.
    Details:
Header material A and raw materials B and C.
In material B in MRP 4 coll/ind indicator is 2 And same indicator for C is blank.
Now when we are running the MRP sales order based it will generate the purchase requisition for C only but not for B.
In OPPQ we have done the setting for sales order BOM explosion.
Can anyone please throw some light what is the setting missing in customization or in front end?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Vilas

    Dear,
If you select individual requirement then system will not consider available stock and generate Proposals for every single requirments. Check in MRP4 view Individual / Collective .
Also you will find PR and Plan order with account assignment of Sales order (in case of MD50).
    - If you select collective requirement then system will not generate planing proposals through MD50.In that case you have to go for individual MRP (MD02 / MD03)
    Please try and come back.

    D: configurable material 2 (position)
    E:variant material 1 (position)
    F:variant material 2 (position)
I can in the sales order explode in this way the BOM (using SD01 application in the position type of the header material):
    1) A --> C+D
    2) B --> E+F
while I can't make the explosion in this way: A --> EF and A --> CE
is this possibile? I want to make an explosion of a BOM for a configurable material  and having variants material as sons, or having mix sons (one configurable and one variant)

    Hi,
I have gonethrough the SAP link referred by you but never come across with any problem in type matching during Sales order even if the BOM explosion is set for Multilevel in Configuration Profile provided the other pre requisite set up was perfect.

there is no explosion.Item 20 is not in the BOM of item 10.
I don't understand why item 10 doesn't explode  if there is another item in sales order with higher level to him. Any help please?

  • BOM explosion in sales order  in variant configuration?

    Hi All,
After searching all threads iam posting this .
    My requirement is
In sales order the material(ZDESKTOP) which has been created in KMAT with item caragery gruop 0002(Configuration) has compenents like PROCESSESOR,DRIVE,KEYBOARD,STORAGE,MEMORY,etc where again each components have 3 varieties(values).while creating sales order the components and picking of values is running well.THE GREEN LIGHT IS ON IN VARIANT CONDITIONS.pricing is picking for variant conditins(values)
These values are stockable items which i created as semifinished.
    item catagery TAC is determined.
Now my problem is the values(sub-items) which are attracted pricing should reflect as sub items of ZDESKTOP.
I have created a BOM also for ZDESKTOP.
I HAVE GET ONLY THE PRICED VALUES AS SUB-ITEMS.
    HOW TO DO THIS SCENARIO?
    Need Help.

    Hi
check your Item category group in material master , sales org view, if it is 0002 Configuration this material use for varient configuration, but your case it may be LUMF  (Structure/mat. below) it used for sub item price.
It is , one of the reason.

  • Sales set in Retail and BOM explosion in sales order

    Greetings.
I configured a sales set that contains variants of generic articles and also unique articles as follows:
Sales set: distinct code, LUMF - item category group, gets TAQ item categ in SO; it contains:
    - Var 1 of article X, distinct code, NORM, gets TAE in SO and mat. nr. and HL item is greyed out in SO
    - Var 1 of article Y, distinct code, NORM, gets TAE in SO and mat. nr. and HL item is greyed out in SO
    - unique article Z, distinct code, NORM, gets TAE in SO and mat. nr. and HL item are NOT greyed out in SO
as a result changing Z with whatever different article is possible.
Also the individual quantities for the components are editable: I was expecting to be able to modify ONLY the set's quantity and see the components multiply accordingly but iti is not the case.
You can download a picture from [HERE|http://fbx.ro/5j87odrxexs3s7it]
My question is: what settings are needed to have inactive/grayed out quantity, material number and HL item for the components of the sales set and why do I get a different behavior between a unique material compared with a variant ?
    Thank you in advance.
    Best regards.
Edited by: Enache Catalin on Jan 21, 2009 4:25 PM - add picture

    Thank you for your patience.
The link would have revealed that there is no visible difference between SO's made with ERLA and LUMF header material , in both the user can modify quantities, item category, plant for ALL subitems and measurment unit plus Higher Level Item ONLY for unique items(why? that was my secondary question).
Nevertheless I tried to follow your steps and forth is what I found:
    - working in Retail I didn't use CS01 for creating the BOM; instead I defined the structure(mat. codes and quantities) directly in header material (sales set - 10 material category - in my case). I could however open with CS02 the right BOM for my sales set but only if I don't mention the plant.
    - further I used CS01 and added the delivering plant this time-> no result, the subitems can still be modified as described above...
I must add that I tried to use for sales set both KMAT and TRGO articles...and it happens the same.
    Best regards.
    Catalin.

  • Archive sales order BOM for archived sales order.

    hi,
i have a very strange situation.
i have few sales order BOMS to archive, we have VC (variant config) in place.
now while trying to archive the BOMS i get the error message that "the sales order doesn't exists in the database or archived".
i checked in the SD tables, and it seems that sales orders are archived. now how to archive those order BOMS????
    kindly give your inputs.
    Best regards,
    Maulin

    Hi Mr. Maulinmunshi,
As per my understanding, you can't archive the BOMs with making the sales order visible in system.
Try to check the order in T-code SARI.
Talk to your basis team and get back those sales order in the system
    Hope this helps.

  • BOM explosion in Sales Order acting weird

I am trying to make a simple BOM explode but it just wouldn't although as far as I can see it should. The details:
    1. I created a sales BOM (T-FUA01) with usage 5 (S&D), entered the components (automatically got L - stock item), entered the plant no. and saved it.
    2. I went to the Material Master of the sales BOM and changed the item category (not the general Item category) to ERLA.
    3. I checked that OR - ERLA -blank - blank combination leads to a TAQ from Customization.
    4. I checked that structure scope of single level BOM (option A) has been selected for TAQ.
When I make the Standard Order (OR) though with Material T-FUA01, the sales BOM simply gets the Item Category of TAN and upon manually changing it to TAQ explodes when it should be doing this automatically. This made me think that apparently the system is using:
    OR-NORM-blank-blank
that allows 4 different options to be manually entered (hence I can). But why is it taking up NORM instead of ERLA or even LUMF is simply beyond me. In frustration I even changed the General Item Category which has nothing to do with this but as expected did not help.

    Hi
    just re-check the following:
    1) in your material master, the item category group is ERLA in sales org 2 view field: 'Item category group'.
    2) You re-created the order after you changed the material master.
    3) You're using standard item categories?

    Raghu.

  • BOM Re-Explosion at sales order created with referance to Contract

    Hi Experts,
Need your advise in mapping below requirement.
Our clinet is into service industry.
The sales process is  Contract --> Sales Order --> Invoice.Currently all the services will be charged using a BOM.
The BOM IS Created as below.
    BOM Header Material--- ABC
    BOM Components -
    ABC1
Now because of additional tax requirements for the services we need to differentiate the services charged to the customer, thus we are planning to change the BOM Masterdata as below.
    BOM Header Material--- ABC
    BOM Components---- ABC2 , ABC3, ABC4,ABC5,
Because of the change in BOM master data all the new contracts created will have the new BOM and its components.
Our concern is how to convert the existing contracts. Business is asking even for the existing contracts if a sales order is created it should contain the new materials and taxes should be calculated based on the new materials.
For the Legacy (Existing) contracts as few sales orders and invoices are created, we can not delete the old materials and add new materials.
Is there any way to make the BOM Re explosion at sales order level .
Ex: Conract created with old bom data and it has ABC and ABC1 materials in it, when a sales order is created system should read the new bom master data and explode it with the new materials.
If we do it either through SAP Standard feature or by a user exit will there be any negative impacts on the existing transactions or will there be any problems as the materials in the contracts and sales orders will be different.
Please share your thoughts and inputs on this.
    Thanks,
    Srini

    Hi All,
When we ran the test cases the BOM is not Re-exploded in the sales order when created with referance to a contract. One  option we thought about is cancelling all the open contracts and creating new contracts for those, thus the new bom will be added to the contract. It looks very hectic as we have aroung 5000+ open contracts.
Can any one suggest an alternative approach for this.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

  • Quote and Sales Order BOM Explosion

We are attempting to utilize a ETO process without PS.  We create a sales quotation and begin to build a quote BOM (using type 1 production) and a Routing for the entered quotation.  Eventually we decide to create a sales order with reference to the quote.  We copy the quote, we copy the quote BOM (type 1 production) to create a sales order BOM (type 1 Production) and copy the quote routing to create a sales order routing.  We however make a few additions/changes to the Sales order BOM.  When we run MRP for the sales order the system pulls the quote BOM not the sales order BOM.
If we slightly adjusted this proccess and create a costing BOM (type 6) at the quote rather than the production BOM (type 1) and again create a sales order with reference to the quote copying the costing BOM to create a sales order type 1 production BOM MRP says no BOM is found.  We believe that MRP should pull the sales order BOM rather than the quote BOM if both are type 1 but most certainly believe that if the quote only has a costing BOM and the sales order has a production BOM MRP should recognize it and utilize it.  This does not happen.  Any thoughts?

    Thanks Piyush.
I have already gone through that. All my questions I have alredy put here .. Could you please care to have a look at it..

  • BOM Production in Sale Order

    Hi all,
I have a finished good is ABC, strategy is 20 (make to order).
I have a variant for ABC, the quantity of components in ABC is 1 pc. When I create a Sale order, I have to choose some characterristics. It depend on requirement of customer. I can see cost estimate in cost report function of Sale Order and inform to customer. My question is "if I change the quantiy of component in ABC is 2 or 3 pc, the cost estimate will be change?"
If not? how i see the cost of order after change component in BOM.
    Thanks all

    Dear,
I have noy fully understood your question. What I understood is you have created Sales order and then you chnaged the BOM qty of sales order BOM. Will it chnage the  cost estimation?
It depends. If you have chnaged the BOM after sales order is created, if you go for recost run, it may change. and you may get the correct cost.

  • BOM selection in sales order

    hello, friends.
when selecting the BOM in the sales order, the selection screen displays alternative BOMs for 1 usage type only, and will show the other usages one at a time only if the first type does not exist.  the sequence depends on the priorities (access sequence) set in IMG, and settings in item category.
    my questions are:
    1.  does the 'next page' button in the selection screen refer to additional BOMs of the only same usage type?
    2.  is it possible to show other usage types in the same selection screen? if yes, where do we configure this
    many thanks for your inputs.

    hello, Rags.
actually, BOM selection is working fine for us.  my question was more of a theoretical one.  to clarify the issue, let me cite an example:
    1.  for material A001, i create 5 alternative BOMs.
    2.  of these 5 BOMs, 3 have usage type SD, and 2 have usage type Production.
    3.  when you enter your BOM header material in the sales order, a selection screen will appear.  because of the priorities set in IMG, it will show you only the 3 alternate BOMs of the SD usage type.
    3.  the system will display the 2 other production BOMs only if there are no SD usage BOMs or if these have been deactivated, or if you change the order of priority in IMG.
    4.  you cannot change the usage type in the BOM selection screen because this field is not available for input.  there are "next page" buttons, and i'm wondering if this is or is not just for long lists of alternate BOMs with a single usage type.
my question:  is it possible to show all 5 BOMs regardless of usage in the same list, or in different pages?
    many thanks.

  • Material BOM explosion in Service Order components

    Hi experts,
I created a Material BOM with transaction code CS01.
Then I try to add this BOM in the component of a service order.
What I expected is the BOM to be exploded in the service order. But this behaviour doesn't occur.
Do you know what I can do to trigger a Material BOM explosion at service order level.
By the way, the BOM is not exploded after the service order (in the reservation or in MIGO).
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi Özgen,
    Thank you for help.
Special Procurement 50 didn't exist in my system.
I created it in SPRO for the plant with the Procurement Type F (External Procurement) and the flag Phantom Item checked..
    Then I created
    - Material A (MM01)
    - Material BOM A (CS01) with:
-- item 1 Material B (which has Spec Proc Type 50 in MM02-MRP2)
-- item 2 Material C (which has Spec Proc Type 50 in MM02-MRP2)
After that I created a Service Order (IW31)
I put Material A in the Component tab with quantity 1.
    The BOM remains unexploded.
    Did I miss something?
