I have iPhoto 6; is it still possible to order cards/calendars from Apple directly? Can't upgrade to iPhoto 11 because my iMac G5 doesn't have Intel chips..

  • Order 3 different calendar with Iphoto 09

I'm trying to order my first Iphoto calendar. But I made 3 different calendars and I'd like to make a unique order and pay only one shipping for all the 3 of them.
How can I do this? If I press the button "buy calendar" and then "buy now" am I allowed to add another calendar later at the same order?
    thanks,

    No
    http://www.apple.com/support/photoservices/ordering_options/
That is not possible - only identical products can be ordered on one order
Can I combine my orders to save on shipping?
Apple does not have a way to combine orders. Due to the highly-automated nature of our system it is not possible to make any changes to an order once it has been placed. (You can cancel you order within 90 minutes of placing it; read our Cancellation Policy for more information).

  • Can't upload Calendar with iphoto '08

I've got a calendar that I created using iphoto '08. I am trying to buy it, but it's failing to upload. I click on 'buy calendar', and it sits for a while saying 'connecting'. Then I get one of several error messages saying "This service is not available", or on other attempts: it gets as far as "Updating product information" before finally saying "A connection could not be established at this time".
I've got another computer with '09 on it. I can create a simple calendar there, and successfully get to connect. I don't want to have to recreate the calendar on the other computer. Is that possible? Is Apple trying to force people to upgrade?

You could try copying the 08 iPhoto library to the desktop of the other Mac, open it with iPhoto 09 to convert the library format to 09 and see if you can order the calendar then. Just don't copy the 08 library package into your Pictures folder and replace the 09 library. Keep the 08 library on the desktop.
There are no differences in the two versions of iPhoto as far as calendar themes is concerned so it must be something to do with the 08 version, library or connection from that Mac.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

  • Help ordering calendar from iPhoto

    Hi,
I am trying to order a calendar from iPhoto - I have done this successfully for the last 4 years.  This time when I go to order I get a message saying I have recently updated my account information, so I go into my profile and everything looks OK - I even reenter my credit card - and try again.  Sometimes at this point I get an error saying I do not have a valid city/state/zip combination, but it is the same as always.  Sometimes I get through that and try and order the calendar again and I get the original message.
I don't know if this is an iPhoto error, a print products issue, or an apple ID issue.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

Sometimes at this point I get an error saying I do not have a valid city/state/zip combination, but it is the same as always.
The invalid zip code suggests you are ordering from an Apple Print Products store in a foreign country and not your home country.
Check, if you are connected to the correct Apple Print Products Store:
iPhoto Preferences > Advanced > Print Products Store
The country in this setting needs to be the same as the country of your billing address and delivery address.

  • Problem with making a book and calendar with iphoto

I tried to make a book with iPhoto, but it won't give me any options if I want it hard bound, spiral or paperback. Do I need to reinstall it?
The only thing I can play around with is the card option, the calendar won't work either.

The query in the first post is the same as what you are posting.
But by an (for me) unknown reason the database converts DBNAME to DBNAME.europe.company.com

  • Ordering Books with iPhoto 1.1.1

I just spent all afternoon creating my first book with iPhoto - the reversion that came with my original white iBook. Now it seems I can't order a printed book with this version - MyPublisher.com only works with iPhoto 5 or higher and I can't upgrade to v5.
Is there anyway to get a book out of my hard work? Or do I need to buy iLife and try to run it on my incredibly slow machine?

You can upgrade to iPhoto 2 for free here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120188
once installed Software Update in System Preferences will offer the last update iPhoto 2.0.1
iPhoto 2 will save your organization and upgrade the library
My publisher also requires OSX 10.4

  • IPhoto books in iPhoto -  The new Photos program only has square photo books.  Will I be able to edit/order books with iPhoto after I upgrade to Photos?

I have many photo books created in iPhoto.  These are rectangular shaped.  The new Photos program only has square shaped books.  After I upgrade to Photos, will I still be able to order books using iPhoto?  Or, will Photos allow me to edit books in their original rectangle shape, and order them?

The new Photos.app will have the classic rectangular sizes as well.
    See the Preview.
    Apple - OS X - Photos Preview
It only mentions the new square format, but the classic layouts are there as well, as the picture shows.
But you may not be able to migrate the old book projects. Finish any current book project while still using iPhoto '11 and create new projects in Photos.

  • Ordering Prints with iPhoto 9 (iLife '11)

Can anyone tell me if the version of iPhoto (9) included with iLife '11 still supports ordering prints? Thanks for your help. Best regards, Dan

Yes.  But I would update the version installed by the iLife 11 disk to the latest version of iPhoto 11 which is 9.4.3 for running your library.  A number of fixes and changes were made between 9.0 and 9.4.3.

  • ICal import bug when creating calendars in iPhoto 2011

    Hi,
I just created a calendar in the new iPhoto 2011 and imported an iCal calendar to the project.
What I discovered is that it only imports one event per day to the calendar in iPhoto, although the calendar in iCal has sometimes more than one event per day.
Fx. in my calendar in iCal I have two events on a certain date, f.x my mothers birthday and my son's birthday on January 18th. However when importing this calendar to the calendar project in iPhoto only my mothers name gets imported. This was not an issue in iPhoto 2010.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Definitely a bug and unforgivable given the time of year - I usually order a couple of calendars as Christmas presents - If I can't order them in time for Christmas then Apple have lost the business.
It seems to me that iLife 11 was rushed out for Christmas. First the appalling upgrade problems and then the realisation that Calendars were not included. Two patches later and we still have an un-useable Calendar.
The worst part about it is, it's not obvious - I wonder how many people have ordered calendars and not noticed the missing Birthdays. I can see a lot of disappointed friends and relatives next year whose birthdays will be missed.
My only hope is an old backup of my Macbook - pre upgrade. If I can boot from that disk, import my recent photos, import the latest version of the iCal Calendar events, I can recreate the Calendar with iPhoto '09. Not sure I can be bothered,

  • I just order 8 calendars from iPhoto and they came to me fine. Now I need to order two more but when I go thru the process I get a message  saying:unable to assemble calendar. There is a probleme with the photo with the file name"(Null)"   more........ .

Would someone be able to explain to me the following issue with Iphoto?
I ordered 8 same calendars for my soccer team and received them fine. Although a couple of pictures on it are a little off (out of focus). I need to order two more of the same calendars but when I go thru the process ireceive an error message saying:
"Unable to to assemble  calendar" There is a problem with the photo with the file name "(Null)" The full resolution version of this photo either cannot be located or is corrupt. Please replace this photo or delete it from your calendar.
How can  I fine this "corrupt" photo? How did it go thru with the first batch of calendars but won't go thru now?
    Thank you for your help.

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start
with Option #4 and then #1 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I am unable to order a book created with iPhoto. It has never happened to me before and I have ordered plenty of books in the past few years. Any ideas why the order button is suddenly greyed out?

  • Importing photos in order with iPhoto

I have scanned and numbered photos in sequence, i.e. 001, 002, etc. so that when I import them they are in order, but it never seems to work. When I download from a digital camera it does usually import them in sequence, but not scanned images or images I've renamed. Is there a way to import photos into iPhoto and keep the sequence???

Are you numbering them in the order they were created? If not that's probably reason. Check the sorting of the Event and change it to sort by Title. Then they should be in the order you want.
    Do you Twango?
