Order of Files inside Publish to Folder doesn't match website

The file sequence created with the Publish to Folder
option in iWeb'08 is diffferent from the website page sequence.
Why is that?  I thought the folder files would follow
the same order as the website pages. Thanks for filling me in.

The published files are in alphabetical/numerical order.

  • How can I use/access files inside an invisible folder?

    I am struggling to get Stylus RMX to show the user libraries option and am discovering that the Lion installer put all the files (8GB) into the Macintosh HD/Users/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics/SAGE folder, but I cannot see the Macintosh HD/Users/Library Folder to even confirm whether or not the installer added the core library or not.  I tried to make a Library folder in the Users Folder and it said that there was already a folder there named Library that I can't see or access.  It seems like this is fooling Logic also, what can I do here?

    Hi
    In Lion, the <User> Library is hidden by default.
    Easy way to get there in the Finder;
    Use the Go Menu (Hold down Option to sho wthe Library in the Menu)

  • IWeb pages published in folder do not match pages published on .mac

    After creating a photography website in iWeb '07, I am unable to have the contents of that website that I publish to a folder match what I created in iWeb and/or published on .mac.
    In other words, when I publish a page of photos to a folder (to later add paypal html coding) the html version does not match the published version on .mac.
    Has anyone experienced this problem?
    I was orgininally able to have the html file match the .mac version verbatim but after I added and deleted a few photos, the html file in the folder (as viewed with TextEdit) has not matched the edited changes ever since.
    Any help, ideas or suggestion on this would be very helpful. The folks at the Apple store and at Apple Care were not able to help.

    yeah, same here. I have more than 60 Video Tutorials on my site for free, many of them on iWeb so please have a look, as some of them definitely address your questions.
    It is at http://www.australianmac.com and click on Tutorials on the top of the page. If they do not help then email me from the site and I will make you one that does.

  • Metadata - File Properties - Dimensions (in inches) Doesn't Match PS

    This has been troubling me for some time now. The info in
    CS4 Bridge Metadata/File Properties/Dimensions (in inches
    ) never matches what I see in Photoshop CS4. The pixel dimension in Bride is right but not in inches.
    I'm talking about plain jane .jpg's and .png's in particular. For instance, a png file that has:
    Dimensions: 2100x1500
    In Inches: 8.8x6.3
    in Bridge
    but in PS the inches on the rulers is a perfect 7x5.
    This proportion of difference is the same from file to file. The larger the picture/image is, the more difference there is from Bridge to PS.
    What gives? Why can't Bridge get the inches correct?

    Thanks for the comeback CurlyY. The image is really a 7x
    5. Divide out the pixel dimension by 300 (dpi)
    and it is 7x5. This is not an image taken by a camera. It is a public domain template for PS.
    If I look at this info from an image I took with my Nikon D700, everything matches up.
    I only find this difference with 3rd party art work.
    I have goobs of .png's and .psd's I've collected over the years and I plan to use Bridge's Output workspace to create printouts so I can find templates I want for whatever reason (seniors, families,...). I plan to put the inch dimension into the filename but the inch dimension in Bridge is incorrect, and I don't want to have to load hundreds of templates into PS to get this info.

  • How to Read all files inside resource Folder inside Jar?

    I have a Jar file,,,, The program reads for resource files in the resource folder inside the Jar. I want my program to read all files inside this folder without knowing the names or the number of files in the folder.
    I am using this to make an Applet easy to be updated with spicific files. I just want to add a file inside the resource folder and Jar the program and automatically the program reads what ever is in there!!
    I used the File class to get all file names inside the resource folder. it works fine before Jarring the program. After I jar I recieve a URI not Herarichy Exception!!
    File fold=new java.io.File(getClass().getResource(folder).toURI());
    String[] files=fold.list();
    I hope the question is clear!!

    How to get the directory and jar file that you class resides in:
    // returns path and jarfile (ex: /home/mydir/my.jar)
    public String getJarfileName()
            // Get the location of the jar file and the jar file name
            java.net.URL outputURL = YourClass.class.getProtectionDomain().getCodeSource().getLocation();
            String outputString = outputURL.toString();
            String[] parseString;
            int index1 = outputString.indexOf(":");
            int index2 = outputString.lastIndexOf(":");
            if (index1!=index2) // Windows/DOS uses C: naming convention
               parseString = outputString.split("file:/");
            else
               parseString = outputString.split("file:");
            String jarFilename = parseString[1];
           return jarFilename;
    }If your my.jar was in /home/mydir, it will store "/home/mydir/my.jar" in jarFilename.
    note: getLocation returns "file:/C:/home/mydir/my.jar" for Windows/DOS and "file:/home/mydir/my.jar" for windows, thus why I look for the first and last index of the colon so I can correctly split the string.
    If you want to grab a file in the jar file and get an InputStream, do the following:
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.Enumeration;
    // jar stuff
    import java.util.jar.*;
    import java.util.zip.ZipEntry;
    public class Jaris
       private JarFile jf;
       public Jaris(String jarFilename) throws Exception
           try
                           jf = new JarFile(jarFilename);
           catch (Exception e)
                jf=null;
                throw(e);
       public InputStream getInputStream(String matchString) throws Exception
           ZipEntry ze=null;
           try
              Enumeration resources = jf.entries();
              while ( resources.hasMoreElements() )
                 JarEntry je = (JarEntry) resources.nextElement();
                 // find a file that matches this string from anywhere in my jar file
                 if ( je.getName().matches(".*\\"+matchString) )
                    String filename=je.getName();
                    ze=jf.getEntry(filename);
          catch (Exception e)
             throw(e);
          InputStream is = jf.getInputStream(ze);
          return is;
       // for testing the Jaris methods
       public static void main(String[] args)
          try
               String jarFilename=getJarfileName();
               Jaris jis = new Jaris(jarFilename); // this is the string we got from the other method listed above
               InputStream is=jis.getInputStream("myfile.txt"); // can be used for xml, xsl, etc
          catch (Exception e)
             // this is just a test, so we'll ignore the exception
    }Happy coding! :)

  • Why doesn't Spotlight reveal searched item if it is inside a Desktop folder

    Scvenario:
    I created a folder on Desktop called Test into which I placed two Word documents and one pdf document.
    Then I went to Spotlight and had it search for these documents.
    Spotlight listed every occurrence of these items EXCEPT their presence in the Desktop folder.
    In seven years of Mac ownership, I never knew this.
    So if I have several folders on the Desktop into which I have put a number of items, there appears no way to locate a specific item via Spotlight but only by opening each folder separately and looking into it.
    Surely this can't be right.
    Thanks

    I have some new information:
    I created a folder on the Desktop called XXXXXXXX
    Into this I dropped a Word document and gave it a name that is not present anywhere in the computer.
    Then I went to Spotlight. It finds the document in Word but makes no mention of the XXXXXXXX file.
    HOWEVER, when I click "Get Info", it shows the document to be in folder XXXXXXXX
    I have a friend whom I am trying to get to clean up his Desktop on which resides perhaps sixty files/folders. I want him to put these items into a couple of folders. He maintains he will not be able to find the files. He knows very little about computers, and I am trying to make this as easy as possible.
    But Spotlight will not pinpoint a file inside a Desktop folder unless we click Get Info.
    Why???

    Could you please check with TAC whether your CUCM version is also affected by the bug CSCsz99841 as I see "ccmservice" user in your logs too?
    Description
    Symptom:
    Cluster Manager will update ccmservice user SSH security keys whenever a new node is added or removed from the cluster
    Conditions:
    CDR Agent cannot send CDR files from sub to pub using sftp.
    This is because SFTP is initiating a connection using the user 'ccmservice'
    Workaround:
    i) Stop CDR Agent service on Call Processing Node
    ii) Gain root access via remote access support account. And then
    Copy over the authorized keys in the specific user's SSH directory:
    /home/sftpuser/.ssh/authorized_keys file to
    /home/ccmservice/.ssh/authorized_keys
    Root CLI command:
    cp /home/sftpuser/.ssh/authorized_keys /home/ccmservice/.ssh/authorized_keys
    iii) Start CDR Agent service on Call Processing Node.
    Further Problem Description:
    This was caused by changes that were made to tighten up file permissions around the CUCM file structure

  • How do I find a corrupted file in a backup folder on my computer?

    I have recently had to replace the battery in my iphone, but before doing so, I had backed up the phone about 3 times, all saying they were successful.  And then I had erased the phone(before I realised the battery was the problem).  However when I went back to restore from the backup, it says that it cannot be restored because the backup is corrupt.  I read on one site that sometimes if a phone turns off or disconnects while backing, it might cause a corrupt file, and I think that's exactly what my phone did due to the battery issues.  The big question is, is it only specific files inside the backup folder that are corrupt?  And how do I find out which files they are?  Please help.

    Hi
    This can be an issue on other end ( server end ) as export to HTML works fine so Muse is exporting the files correctly but while exporting to external server if it stuck then we should check on server side if there is any problem related to specific file upload.
    As a workaround, you can use any FTP client and then upload the exported html files to root location.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

    How can i open the directory/folder and read all the files inside it in order and then close it? any example would be nice.

    In the File I/O>>Advanced File Functions Palette is a function named "List directory". This function will give you two arrays. One contains the names of all subdirectories the other the names of all files. If you want to sort them by name use the array sort function. If you want to sort them by another attribute use the File/Directory Info function to get more data. Use a cluster which contains the attribut to sort and the original index of the name. Then sort this array.

  • How to publish to an FTB server in iWeb 2 using the File ➙ Publish to Folder option??

    I was just given the following advice regarding publishing to an FTP other than MobileMe.
    Web 08 does not have that feature (drop down menu to publish from "site" icon).  You will need to upgrade to iWeb 3 in iLife 11 in order to get that feature.  You can get iLife 11 at the online Apple Store while supplies last since iWeb (and iDVD) have been discontinued by Apple
    To pubish to an FTB server in iWeb 2 use the File ➙ Publish to Folder menu option and then use a 3rd party FTP client like Cyberduck to upload the site files.
    Follon-on question, can anyone provide more details on how to do exactly what was suggested?  I toyed with it and can only get it to publish to a folder on my desktop, but not to an external FTP.  (I have already purchased a web-host package, just need to publish to it!)

    Okay.  When you publish your site from iWeb to a local folder what you will get is one site folder - this site folder will have the same name as you gave your site in iWeb and one separate index.html file.
    Your site folder contains an index.html file as well as the separate index.html file.  You NEED both.
    What you need to do is firstly using Cyberduck or whatever, upload your site folder to your host into whatever folder you need to upload to on the server - could be 'public_html', 'htdocs' or whatever - this is your root folder.
    You then need to upload your separate index.html file to your server too, but this index file needs to sit outside your site folder because it needs to point in towards the index.html file that is in your site folder - this is the first page of your site.
    You don't delete or duplicate any index files - iWeb produces the two index files that you need when you publish to a local folder - one index file in the site folder itself and one separate index file that sits outside the site folder and points into the first page of your site.
    Also, remember to call the first page of your site something like Home or Welcome, but DO NOT name it index.
    By the looks of things here you have not uploaded your index files correctly.
    What I would suggest that you do is start over - so open Cyberduck and connect to your server and go and delete your site folder and your other index file if it is still there.
    Go back to iWeb and publish to a local folder again and notice that you have both your site folder and separate index.html file.
    Now go and open Cyberduck again and connect to your server and note where you need to upload your files to.
    Now go and upload your Site Folder to your server and once this has finished go back and upload your separate index.html file, but this needs to sit outside your site folder.  If you do this, then your site should display okay - as long as your other index file is pointing into to the first page of your site it should display correctly.

  • Search files in current folder doesn't work

    When I search my whole mac for e.g. "Danse Macabre" i get the results from all over the place, which is to be expected.
    So when I go into the folder I get a list of files including the one I was searching for. So far so good.
    While typing in a new search inside that current folder, the file list refreshes and still shows me all files in that folder, even though the search string isn' part of most of the names:
    When I actually specify to only look at the actual file names, the list shows only the file including the actual string. Unintuitive but acceptable. Just pressing the enter key will still show the whole unfiltered directory.
    However - and that is my real grip - when I want to find specific files, e.g. all files containing the string "cab" then this happens:
    The list empties the moment I type in the third letter, which doesn't make any more sense than showing all files when typing in the first letter. And when I actually commit the search which should show me all files containing "cab" in the name, I got nothing.
    This makes the search feature in finder completely useless.
    What's going on?
    And how do I fix it?

    I played around with this a little.
    Although typing into the folder search field gives you an option labeled  "Filename contains…", what you really seem to get is a search for "Filename contains a 'word' that begins with…."
    A new "word" in the filename can be the beginning of the filename, anything that comes after a punctuation character, or a case change. The matching criteria itself ignores the case.
    So in your example, you had a file named "01 Danse macabre.mp3", and a filename search for "cab" didn't find it. I think that is because "cab" is in the middle of the string, and is not a "word" as defined above. As an exercise, I renamed one of my own files as "01 Danse macabre.mp3", and as expected, searching for the filename "cab" didn't find it. However if I then capitalized the "C" so that the filename was "01 Danse maCabre.mp3" then a search for "cab" did find it:
    "Cab" starts a new "word" because of the case change. The search itself is case-insensitive, so that searching for "cab" finds "Cab".
    This shows the problem, but doesn't fix it. As a work-around, instead of using the top-right search field to type in "cab", instead hit command-F to bring up the search window.  Change the initial "Kind is Any" line to "Name contains". Now you get a true "contains" search instead of a "word begins with" search. When I searched for "cab" this this way, I did find "01 Danse macabre.mp3":

    Kevin is suggesting that you store the projects you create while working through his book in a folder called RoboHelpProjects. It is not where you have to store every project you ever create.That is for the purposes of his book.
    RoboHelp initially defaults to My RoboHelp Projects but it's up to you whether you do. Generally on the forums we advise against that as  it is part of your profile and can result in excessively long path names in a few cases. Generally where authors create file names that are so long they almost serve as the content.
    Projects always have a root folder, call them Project 1 and Project 2 for this purpose. You can have those folders directly off your C drive (or other local partition) or within in a parent folder as above.
    Now to what you can and cannot do. You can delete a whole project by selecting Project 1 or Project 2 in Windows Explorer. Obviously if you delete the parent folder you will delete all your projects within.
    What you must not do is delete individual files within a project using Windows Explorer, for that you use RoboHelp's Project Manager. The exception is if you go to Tools > Reports there is a report Unused Files. Files listed there will have to be deleted using Windows Explorer for the very good reason they do not appear in Project Manager and, therefore, cannot be deleted that way.
    If you think about it, it is similar to Word. There is no option to delete a document there other than using File > Open and right clicking. Not very intuitive.

       In knowledge management is there any option to find total number of files inside folder...
        I also want to see the recently uploaded and modified documents in a seperate iview...
        Iam using NW2004s SP8..
        Very urgent..

    Hi Kiruthika,
    1. You only need the configarchive if you don't want create all the KM configuration objects mentioned in the guide manually. So, just create the objects mentioned there and you don't need the configarchive
    Also, the scenario works also on 2004s.
    2. Please check this thread on how to show the total number of files inside a folder:
    https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=19610
    3. It would be nice if you would consider rewarding the time people like Saravanan spend to investigate and answer your question by assigning points via the colored stars.
    Best regards,
