Order of installing tools.

I am starting to learn JDeveloper and read in the Oracle JDeveloper 3 Handbook that if you use Forms and Reports you should have them loaded on your machine first. Is this true? Also when looking in the software download area they have forms and reports for NT. Is there a specific version for 2000?
Thank you.

Brendan -
Forms and Reports install in an oracle_home, so it's not so much that Developer should be installed before JDeveloper, it's just that if you are going to use Forms and Reports with JDeveloper, you'll need to have them installed. For Developer, it can be installed on Windows 95/98/00 and NT from the same CD.
Hope this helps,
Lynn

  • Just installed vista and bootcamp won't install because it needs windows 7 in order to install properly

Hey so i just bought by 15" MacbooK Pro yesterday and wanted to install windows vista on it. I'm to the part where you're supposed to install windows bootcamp but a message comes up saying that it needs windows 7 in order to install properly. What do i do?? I have the upgrade version of windows 7 (whcih i was going to eventually install) but when i tried installing it an error message came up saying that it needs vista service pack 1 to install. In order to install that service pack I need to connect to the internet. I can't connect to the internet, though, without installing the drivers from bootcamp!! AHH! see how this is frustrating? PLEASE HELP ASAP!

Reboot your computer while holding down the option key. You should be presented with the option to boot into OSX. Once booted into OSX start Boot Camp Assistant and select remove the Boot Camp Partition.
I know Boot Camp Assistant was not installed in Windows. It is an OSX application for creating and removing a Boot Camp partition. It is run from OSX.

  • According to the apple website I need to upgrade Boot camp 3.0 to at least 3.1 in order to install Windows 7 on my iMac currently running Snow Leopard. I download the 3.1 version but it is only a text file and there doesn't appear to be any way to upgrade

In order to install Windows 7 on my iMac I need to upgrade bootcamp to at least 3.1  I currently have 3.0.4 After downloading from the website there is no way to install it - it is just a text file? What should I do?

You have to start with 3.0, which is on the OSX disc that came wih your Mac.

  • What's the better order to install OEM + AS + DB

    Hi everbody.
What's the better order to install on RHEL4 Update2:
    - Enterprise Manager Control Grid (10gR2)
    - Database (10gR2)
    - Application Server (10gR3)
And about the $ORACLE_HOME?? How to? Each instalation have a separate $ORACLE_HOME??
    Tks!

    Rafael,
Save the Grid Control as the last installation. The order of Database and Application Server doesn't matter, however I would personally install the database first.
Please read all Installation Guides' before starting any installations, and follow all pre-requisites stated for RHEL4.
The Installation Guide's states that all products must be installed in separate ORACLE_HOME. As a matter of fact, the Oracle Installer doesn't allow installing any of these products into an existing ORACLE_HOME.

  • When I go to install OS X on the disk utility I got a prompt telling me that Mac 10.7 is not available. I am connected to the internet. What do I do in order to install OS?

My laptop was running slow while in the regular mode, but in safe mode it would work fine. I deleted all of the content through the disk utility. Once I would go back to the recovery mode prompt and click on install os I go to the next page and get a prompt that says mac os x 10.7 is not available. There also is no picture to the left of the OS system like most people have on their recovery mode screen on the install option. Please help!
    Thanks!

I was planning on buying one of those lens cleaners discs here soon and then see what happens.
That might do.  There is the 'poor man's' alternative.  Take a fine microfiber cloth (eyeglasses cleaning cloth) and wrap it around a business card.  Insert it gently into the slot.  Some times it works.  Do not dismiss the possibility that the DVD drive is kaput.
I did purchase this laptop from my brother a couple years ago. He told me the first operating system that was on the laptop was OS X 10.6. He gave me the disc to install,
According to the information that I have, a Mid 2009 MBP came with Leopard (10.5).  You will have to install Leopard (if you have the original disk) or purchase from the online store a Snow Leopard (10.6.3) retail disk.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
This disk is a requisite in order to install and run Lion (10.7) or any other newer OSX.  You have to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 before downloading and installing Lion.
    Ciao.

You can't install the App Store version of Mavericks because your model needs a special version. If you ever need to reinstall it, boot into Recovery.

    Hi,
I am trying to install 'Playonmac' so I can install Meta Trader 4 - however each time I reach the next button in order to install XQuartz it hits a dead end
    - the 'Installing Quartz' window is saying installing Quartz, but all it does from there is the clock the spins around, just keeps spinning and nothing happens - I have waited and waited for it, but it just kind of freezes there.  I have reloaded the software over and over, and even switched off the firewall in case it was blocking Playonmac.  It is really important I load Meta Trader 4 on my Mac.
Help will be much appreciated - Has anyone had this sort of problem?  Does anyone know how to resolve it?

According to wiki "the documentation from Apple states that Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista is requisite for a Boot Camp installation, and it also mentions that trying to install an unsupported operating system could prevent the computer from booting even into Mac OS X". Sure that was from wiki, but it does seem to support and somewhat validate the problem I had with installing an earlier edition of XP.

Thanks for the info on the Filesystem info. My problem is that installing OS X on a mac is just a little bit more technical than installing Windows on a PC as there are a few more things to consider. Plus I'm not familiar with any of the utility programs as well. It's a **** miracle I managed to somehow create a volume to install OS X on when I thought I was erasing the partition I created for WinXP.
But I'm still not sure about the missing 40GB from my 500GB HDD. Upon coming to the desktop straight after OS X was fully re-installed I noticed that the HDD only had 460GB and that 440GB of it available space. So the full installation of OS X was 20GB, but where has the other 40GB gone? I swear I saw that I had much more available space on my harddrive (BEFORE I tried to partition my HDD under Boot Camp Assistant and stuffing up the computer). Is the missing 40GB from the ORIGINAL FACTORY INSTALL of OS X INCLUDING all my iTunes music and other files I uploaded to the computer earlier? It would make sense but there's no way, as far as I know, of checking this. Any ideas?
    Cheers.

  • Is it possible to Install Tools 5.0 with HRMS 9.1 ?

    Greetings!
I'm planning to Install Tools 5.0 & HRMS 9.1. Downloaded "HRMS 9.1 Feature pack December 2010" from E Delivery. But in the installation guide "People Soft Enterprise HRMS 9.1 Feature Pack December 2010 Installation Guide", It is said that we need Tools 8.51.02 or Higher for this installation.
Through Web search, understood some folks using this combination with 8.50.**05** patch. Can some one tell me how can it be installed this combination.
I have the following things are ready.
Installed Web server, Tuxedo, People Tools 5.0 . Downloaded "HRMS 9.1 Feature pack December 2010" .
Can i go ahead with Application installation? Can i run DMS for DMO? So far.. I haven't found good information on this. Can someone help?
    Thanks in advance.

Originally build on Peopletools 8.50, HCM 9.1 has been recut and now presented on Peopletools 8.51 (minimum required 8.51.02).
It is basically the new strategy of Peoplesoft, release a new Peopletools version every year, and make a new Feature Pack of applications embedding the new Tools.
So, over Internet, what you've found was correct few weeks ago, but not anymore within the Feature Pack. If you really want to have HCM9.1 based on Peopletools 8.50 (not available anymore on edelivery), you probably may have to raise a SR to request the media.
Consequently, if you've downloaded that feature pack, you also have to get PTools 8.51 since it won't work within PTools 8.50.
