Order of photos in slideshow

Hi
From a slideshow in iPhoto with a theme and music from iTunes, I have successfully published it into iWeb.
But. The order of the photos is different from the source file that I can view from the iWeb menu and from finder.
I wish for the first photo to display with the title overlay. At the moment the title overlay is showing from a photo in the middle of the show. It is all a bit odd.
Can anyone help with this issue ?
Many Thanks

This works for exporting photo albums, so something like it might work for slide show:
1. Select your album and all the photos in it.
2. Go to Export under File
3. Change File Name option to Sequential
4. Where it says "Prefix for Sequential" type in the exact name of your album.
That's it! When you hit Export, the photos stay in perfect order!

  • Controlling order of photos in slideshow

Apparently the Photos application that comes with the iPad doesn't let you determine the order of photos displayed in a slideshow. All of the posts on this topic involve changing the file name, which is not possible on the iPad as far as I know. Is there a workaround for this, or another application that will allow you to control the order of photos in a slideshow? (I can't believe this is an issue -- it seems like such a basic feature to me...)

You could try Photo Manager Pro from the store - it's not as restrictive as the built-in Photos app, and allows you to sort the photos within the app (reorder photos)

Just like for any other photo - select the photos in the album and use the command "File > Order Prints".
Be careful, not to include any text slides. If it is difficult to select the photos in the slideshow, create a new album from the photos in the film strip (File > New Album).

Creating a slideshow of an album using the create button, the photos do not show in the order of the album. I would like the order of photos to stay in the original order.

  • Can I rearrange the order of photos in an event or slideshow?

I want to rearrange the order of photos in an vent, or slideshow. Can I do this??

Actually, you can do this if the date is sequential.  I have 35K of photos, and 280 events.  They are sorted by date, using year, month, and sometimes day as the title.  If it is more specific, I use year, month, trip information, for example.

  • Customizing order of photos in web gallery & slideshow

I know this was requested during the beta but.....
Is there a way to customize the order that photos appear in a web gallery or slide show? By default Lightroom 1.0 displays them in the order they were imported. I want to move them around but can't find a way to do so.

Do a collection of images to use in either. You can drag and drop the order in a collection. Drag from the middle of a thumbnail. The module will remember presets associated with a Collection as apposed to a group sellection.
This is very, very old info listed in numerous threads.

  • Can I change the order of photos in Events

I am in the process of scanning my old film photos so that I can put them into iPhoto. As I have no scanner I take them to Wal Mart and scan them onto a CD then import them into iPhoto at home. Because the CD holds the photos from a number of events I then distribute them to a number of different Event folders.
Once I get all the photos into their correct Event folders I would like to rearrange their order. Using drag and drop, or cut and paste, simply leaves the photo in it's original location. If I use the 'Moving photos from one event to another' feature the moved photos will still go into the new Event folder in the same order as they were in the originating folder, regardless of what order I drag or paste them.
The help menu has topics on how to change the order of photos in a slideshow, book or calender, but not an event. I could arrange the photos beforehand so that they are scanned in the order in which I want them to appear in Events, but with 500+ photos in completely random order it will be fairly time consuming. It also will not help with the disc of photos I have already made.
So, to finally get to my question, does anybody know if there is a way to rearrange the order of photos within an Event folder?
    Rgds

Events are strictly time based. If you put those photos in an album and in the order you want, you can set their date and time by using the PHotos->Batch Change->Date and set the date and time you want with the checkbox to add the time differential you'd like between photos. That will reorder them in the Event also.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Help! Order of photos in a Folder does not match order of albums

I have seen dozens of threads on folders and albums, sorting them etc. However did not quite find an answer to this one.
The question is : Why the order of photos in a Folder does not match with the order of Albums I have created underneath the Folder?
In other words I created a floder and placed within the folder a few albums we will call G, K, C ...etc in the chronological order in which I want to show the pictures. The pictures within the album are not strictly chronological. ( I will explain more if this is an issue)
Next when I click on the Folder, I notice that the photos are grouped by the corresponding Album which is what they should be, however their(photos) order did not correspond to that of the Albums. In other words, in the Folder view, I see photos of K first and then may be G and then may be C. I am not able to change that order to G, K, C..the way I want. This will mess up the slideshow for me.
For clarity, I created each album simply by dragging corresponding event down into the Folder. The events are sorted by date and ascending in View>Sort Events.
    I appreciate any suggestions please!
    Thanks

    Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion, Mt. Lion or Mavericks delete the contents the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
    Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto, reset its preferences and try the slideshow again.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
If you're running Mavericks, 10.9,  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

  • How do I change the order of photos in ipad albums in ios 8 ?

    Hi
I've just upgraded my ipad mini to IOS 8.1.  I want to create a slideshow in Photo (iPhoto no longer supported) but can't find how to change the order of photos within an album.  Has anyone any suggestions/ideas ?

Open the album. Tap select. Hold your finger on the photo till it enlarges then slide it to it's new position. Tap done when you're finished.

  • Adjusting photos in slideshow theme

I've got a slideshow and I'm using the Sliding Panels theme. Photos seem randomly assigned to display as either a large single panel, one of four panels, a large one and three little ones... There are many templates in this theme. By shuffling the order of photos I can sometimes place specific photos in the larger space of the template. But it's really frustrating to move photos around by trial and error to get the one photo I wish would appear large to stay that way. Not to mention that changing the order of photos sometimes affects the templates many steps back in the slideshow. Is there a way to choose the specific arrangement of pictues, or is that always decided by iPhoto in some unknown algorithm based on picture size or number of faces?

There are no options to control the layout for individual photos in the newer themes. The only themes that will give you a little bit more control are the older "Classic" and "Ken Burns". But these themes will simply show your photos full frame with little animations.  So you will have to present spectacular photos to keep the interest of your audience.

  • Order of images in slideshow ...

I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't find the answer with google or here.
I'm using lightroom 3 - how can I change the order of the images in a slideshow .... I'd love to be able to drag and drop the images into the order that I want but that does not sem possible .... so how do I do this please?

    Michael
You can order your photos in Library Module, in Grid mode. To be able to establish a user sort order, you must be either
In a collection (not a smart collection)
In a bottom level folder (no more subfolders underneath it)
In a non-bottom level folder, but without having "Include Photos from Subfolders" marked
A collection is my prefered way for slideshows, since you can
    Select the photos you want
    Order them as you like

  • Misordering of photos in slideshow

When I click on the quick slideshow button whilst in the Events view of iPhoto, most events display their pictures in the order that appear in the Photos view or when you double click on a Event to see the pictures inside it.
However, on 2 or 3 of my Events, the order shown in the slideshow is different. Its not random - but its not the order in which the photos are laid out in Photos view? Not a big issue, but an annoyance when I want to show other folks a sequence of photos in the order they were taken/are numbered.
    Any suggestions please?
    thanks
    Mike

Thanks for the suggestion - hadn't looked there!
In Events (looking at key photos): View>Sort Events is By Date and Ascending
In Events (opened to see photos): View>Sort Photos is By Date and Ascending
(but this is not the order number of offending Events display in Slideshow)
In Photos: View>Sort Photos is By Date and Ascending
If I double click one of the problems to show the picture contained within it and then -
    - select all and hit slideshow button: right order
    - select none and hit slideshow button: right order
Go back to Events View, select that event and hit slideshow button: WRONG Order!?!
    Best wishes,
    Mike

  • Problem Sorting Photos in Slideshow

I created a slideshow, putting the photos in the desired order. Now, for a reason I cannot understand, that order is completely reversed--front to back. When I go to View-Sort, everything is grayed out.
Is there a keystroke that will reverse the order of the slides?

    Alpsteiner:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Select all of the photos in the thumbnail tray at the top and then drag the first slide to the far right of the tray and wait for the blue slider to move to the far right and then release. That will reverse the order of the entire slideshow.
    Do you Twango?

  • Chronological order to photos....

Is there a way to chronologically order the photos in a book and then autoflow them ?

Yes. In the book mode with the thumbnail tray displayed go to the View->Sort menu and select By Date. That will order the photos chronologically. You can then use the autofill mode to put them in the book.
