Order of Photos on IPOD Video

On my PC I store photos in folders which relate to the month, and year, in which they were taken. However, IPOD only recognises the top level folder. Consequently all my sub folders for year 2006 are shown purely as 2006. However, my main concern is that when I'm using the clickwheel to skip through the thumbnails, the date it shows at the top of the screen seems to connected with the last time that photo was amended rather than when it was taken. So, for example, if I'm looking at photos for the month of Jan 2006 the date can be shown as Aug 2006 (the amended date). This makes it extremely difficult to locate my photos by date.
Can anyone help?

you need to number them in their names in your folders on the computer.
e.g. 01 Mum, 02 Dad, 03 Birthday, 04 Christmas
1,2,3,4 will work as well. but i think if you have lots of photos you need the 0s, so if you have double figures 01, if you have triple figures 001.

  • Any news of updating ipod photo to ipod video

guys.. is there any news about updating ipod photo to ipod video in the future??? i'm so darn pis$ed after looking at the ipod video... i have an ipod photo 30 gig and i just feel that it's really unfair for other ipod with colour display users!!!!!!!!!!
anyone here would be kind enough to calm me down!!

    Bryan,
posts like this are in my opinion quite inappropriate and immature. I can agree on the fact that at the time of purchase the iPod purchased was exactly to specifications, but if a day/week/month later you can get more (10 GB and video capability) for the same price would you not feel cheated in a certain way? Just imagine it happening with anything other than a technological advancement and imagine it happening to YOU.
Anyway, it would be a very nice gesture for us Apple iPod enthusiasts to be provided with a firmware upgrade if the technology of their iPods is capable of handling videos. I for example am a Windows deciple, but as with everything, having listened to the right reasons, was contemplating to convert to Apple. Let's see how they handle this issue going forward.

  • Sync photo to ipod video

    Hello,
Please anyone with information on how to upload/sync photo to your ipod. I have followed the instruction given online and in the help menu, but each time I tried to sync my pic from photo album 2.0 I receive an error message reading "The ipod cannot be updated. The disk could not be read from or ritten to."
    Thanks.

I have the same problem and error message using Photoshop Elements 3.0. So I tried just uploading a single .jpg to my iPod Video, and it wouldn't work either. Have you resolved your problem yet?

  • ORDER OF PHOTOS ON IPOD

I created a folder on my desktop called IPOD Photos. Within it I have a number of sub folders containing various photos. The photos were downloaded in the order I wanted them to appear on my IPOD. Everything appears on my IPOD fine EXCEPT the photos in each folder are out of order. Now that they are in my IPOD, is there any way to change the order of photos in each folder?
Thanks for all the excellent help.

  • Ipod photo or ipod video

which one is better. i have questions since i looks like the ipod video is having alot of problems. and which ever one i pick is engraving it a good route tog o down.

The iPod photo has been discontinued, therefore if you want a new one, the iPod with Video is the only option. I've had my 5G Ipod for a week or so now, and I am very pleased with it. These forums are like in customers services, most people making contact, have problems. How often does anyone phone customer services with news that the product works well....
There are some threads here with good news though.

    The script called...
"Move From One iPod to Another"

  • Can't put photos on ipod video 60gig

I have a 60 Gig ipod, Vista OS, since updating to vista64 i can no longer add any photos to my ipod. i had to restore it at the same time and since can't upload any photos at all. says it is syncing for hours or days if i would leave it on that long, but no photos uploaded. I am assuming this is a vista issue but not sure. Is there a way around this problem? Everything else syncs up nicely including games, videos, music, audio books.... just not photos.
Any suggestions? or when will this be updated on itunes?
    Garabaldi

Vista has to be the biggest pile of monkey crap since, well, monkey crap existed!
It has made it virtually impossible to use any USB devices without first going through hours of internet investigations. I started installing on Thursday evening around 9 PM and am still having problems almost 72 hours later!
Yes, my Ipod took hours to be recognized, it kept asking me to install a driver over and over again, it continuously stays on DO NOT DISCONNECT and it will not allow photos to be put into the ipod. I am sure this is not an Apple issue so won't even try to pass the blame on to them. It is a MICROCRAP issue and needs to be pointed out to other life-long microcrap users.
I am one of thos long time users that due to these ongoing vista issues am strongly pondering switching to Apple!

  • Ordering og tracks on IPod Video 80g

I just got an 80g Video Ipod and I seem to be having the tracks (mostly podcasts) not being put into the correct order that they were released in. I have set the release date to ascending in itunes, but when I look at the list on the ipod they are reversed, with the latest being on top and the earliest being on the bottom. Any ideas? I after changing the release date options in itunes even retored and re-copied my entire library back into the unit thinkin I needed to do this for the settings to take effect. Still no luck, any help would be great.

No, sorry, only the iPhone and iPod touch have Bluetooth (or WiFi).

  • Extracting photos from Ipod video 30g

    Hi,
My hard drive on my pc failed, and I lost all of my pictures. I do have them on my ipod. Now with my new hard drive I am trying to transfer those photos back to my machine or copy them onto a CD. Is there a way I can do that.
    Thanks,

There are various programs out there for recovering photos from an iPod, have a look at the ones below. If you search the internet you can find more:
    iPodPhotoCopy Windows only
    CopyPodPhoto Windows only
Tansee iPod Transfer Photo Windows only
iPod Photo Liberator Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
If you have full resolution copies of the photos on the iPod have a look here: Apple Knowledge Base article - Use Disk Mode to copy photos from iPod

  • Deleting photos from ipod video

I'd like to remove the pictures that got on my new 30gb ipod, how do I go about doing this?

It's drastic because it deletes everything on your iPod, doesn't it? Then you'd have to add all of your music back onto your iPod just because you wanted to get your pictures off. This is a bigger problem if you have more music than room on your iPod. That is what I'm dealing with. I cannot sync my iPod with iTunes because I have too much music.
Restoring my iPod would be a lot of work. That's why I was asking the question about manually deleting the pictures. I apologize if I am ignorant. I am fairly new to the scene.

  • In reference to this topic:   Will my Powerbook handle the new ipod video?

In reference to what Chris CA, and shadowsoldier were arguing about (ipod 5th Generation vs. ipod with video) Here is some information that i found on the apple website
October 12, 2005 - The Fifth Generation iPod replaced the iPod with color displays
June 6, 2006 - The iPod U2 Special Edition is introduced, based on the Fifth Generation iPod. The U2 iPod has different exterior (red Click Wheel, U2's signatures engraved on the back) and includes an iTunes Music Store coupon to download 30 minutes of video featuring music and interviews with the band.

    no it isn't
the 5 gen ipod has video capabilities but is not "the" video ipod. its like the nano it supports photos but its not an ipod photo. the "ipod video" is the 6 gen ipod which is coming out this fall. its gonna have a bigger screen made to actually watch movies on it. the 5 gen you can watch movies on it buts not practical for it. its "ipod" it became just the standard ipod. notice that nowhere does apple call it "ipod video"
even on the page you replied with it says "Fifth Generation iPod (also known as iPod with video)" notice ipod with video

  • Will my Powerbook handle the new ipod video?

I've got a Powerbook G4 Titanium (only USB 1.1) and was hoping to get an ipod with video capability. I see they're not firewire supported, so does this leave me out? Running 10.39.

  • How do i add photos in my Ipod Video?

How do i add photos in my Ipod Video and View them?

Can you just open your ipod like a hard drive and put photos in the folder named Photo
You need to let iTunes handle the transfer in order for the pictures to be viewable on the iPod. iTunes creates specially sized preview images and organizes the pictures & previews as it does for music files. If you put the pictures on manually through Windows Explorer and the iPod hard disk "interface", then you can retrieve the pictures on another computer. But the pictures won't display on the iPod.

  • I can't seem to get my iPod touch (4th Gen) to play photo slideshows or videos through my TV.  Is this a design flaw?  Or is it me?  My old iPod used to do it no problem, but now I can't even find any video out options in the settings.

  • No longer able to import photos onto my iPod Video 80GB

    Hi all
I have had my iPod Video 80gb for about 2 months and at first enjoyed viewing my photos on it. The day that V7.3 was released & I upgraded I experienced several problems, some of which are already well documented on this forum. One problem that nobody else seems to have mentioned, is that I can now no longer import any of my photos onto my iPod. I receive the message...
“Some of your photos including filename.jpg were not copied to the iPod Caraline’s iPod because they cannot be displayed on your iPod.
As absolutely nothing had changed on either my iPod or my computer (other than iTunes version) I presumed this problem was tied up the new version. As I was having other problems with this version I decided to uninstall and re-install V7.2. However the problem persists. I even tried deleting everything from my iPod and every iTunes file, folder & cache and starting from scratch again with V7.2. I have also re-set my iPod back to the factory settings.
It does not seem to matter what the source of the original photos was, either from camera, or scanned, nor does it matter the size. I have spent hours experimenting, and absolutely nothing I do seems to solve this problem.
I am totally stumped as to why photos that I once could copy onto my iPod now are deemed undisplayable. I feel terribly disappointed as my iPod now seems crippled and does not perform a function that was a main consideration in buying one in the first place.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry everyone. I just realised that photos are discussed in a the iPod forum and this topic is being covered there. So please ignore this post.
