Order of the mp3 files

How the MP3 files could be sort by folder- and filenames in player (and played in that order)? Now they are sort by track number in "albums" (player makes two different albums with same name to one album) and albums are in alphabetical order. I have Zen Mosaic EZ 300.@

Jason,
I have the Creative Muvo N200 gb, just got it yesterday, latest firmware (I think, it is version: .0.02) but I tried the fast forward inside playing back a mp3 and it does not work. I am listening to a recorded am radio show (I am a paid subscriber, the file is a mp3 file), and want to resume where I left off but each time I come back to the file, it starts over at the beginning and I want to forward thru what I've heard already. Can you please be very detailed in how to use the forward? Does the Cue setting have to be on/off/cancel or what? Also, when you see the "On" in Cue, does that mean it is on now, or to press scroll-select to make it on? I also don't know how to cue/review other than toggle the setting, and I don't exactly know what cue/review does. Last, what is "skip section" that audible.com says the muvo n200 can do with this firmware version?
Thanks in advance.

  • I can't get download to work - it will not copy the mp3 file to my chosen location (as set in tools/options) - it gives me a new window with a player - no dwnlo

I am running windows xp sp2 and I have set my dowload location under (tools/options), but when I select an MP3 file to download, firefox does NOT copy the file to my chosen location on my HD - instead, it opens up a new window with a makeshift "player" and begins loading the player with the MP3 file. The problem is that I have no idea where on my system firefox has copied this file to, so, I cannot leave and come back later and play this MP3 file using winamp. I have to listen to it right then or lose it - if I close that new window (with that puny little "player"), then I lose the download, wherever firefox put it on my PC (I got no idea where it is). This is all under firefox 25.0
I am also running FIrefox 12.0 on an older windows 2000 machine and that works perfectly - I can download any MP3 file I want, and firefox 12.0 (on win2k, sp4) downloads it to my chosen location (on my HD), and it gives me the download window so I can watch its progress and have some control over pause, and resume, and, when it is done, the download window offers me the option to "open containing folder" so I can make sure it got to where I wanted it. In other words, Firefox 12.0 on WIn2k, sp4 works better than firefox 25.0 on winxp sp2!!!!! What gives? I went through and set up my options for XP just like I did with Win2k and it all looks good, but firefox 25.0 just ignores my chosen location and always defaults to give me that makeshift player and I am not able to actually copy the mp3 file to my harddrive - it makes firerox 25.0 almost unusable since downloading mp3 files is a big part of my firexfox use - please help - I am not able to upgrade windows at this time, and, since firefox 12.0 still works fine on win2k, I can't understand what happened at firefox?

    Phillipp,
I tried it again using "save link as", and this time it actually worked! I just now downloaded several more using the "save link as" option, and it works perfectly. Thanks. Problem solved.

My suggestion to use the smart playlist was more along the lines of making one list with rules to show everything in your library as long as it was kind "mpeg" (= mp3).
Smart playlists cannot be edited manually, only by changing the rules.  You can use them as the basis for another smart playlist though.
There is added overhead to using smart playlists, so don't go overboard.

  • ITunes 10.6.3 not importing mp3 files but will play the mp3 files

    Hi
I recently updated my iTunes to v10.6.3 on my mac. However, I cant seem to add new music to my iTunes library. Dropping and dragging doesnt work even though the '+' curser appears and importing music using command + O doesnt work either. There is no indication of the music being analysed or anything.
However, when I click on an mp3 file it opens and plays in iTunes but will not be added to the library. If I click on the mp3 file again from finder, it will play in iTunes from the last point..
Does anyone have any ideas of wrong? Its frustrating me because I need to sync music to my iPhone and I cant
    Thanks

Ye playing the file should automatically add it to iTunes but its not since I updated iTunes.
The music plays and I can see the the time bar in the window on the top of iTunes but the file is not located in the iTunes library or anywhere in iTunes so I cant right click it.
At the moment the mp3 file is on my desktop. Normally dropping and dragging it into iTunes adds it into my 'iTunes' folder in the 'Music' folder.. but this is not happening. I've tried manually adding the file into the 'iTunes' folder using the appropriate folder titles etc.. but iTunes will not detect the new mp3's. Wierd!!
I think I might just have to re-install iTunes

  • The mp3 file is not playing in the background of my folio .

So. The mp3 file stops playing as soon as i swipe to next page even if i check out the boxes for auto play and play in background.
Ive deleted all the files, uploaded them again. Updated my indesign but still dont work.
    What am i doing wrong?

Which viewer are you using? Background audio is the only audio overlay piece that isn't supported yet on the Android or Windows viewers. It should work fine on the iOS viewer.

  • Is it possible to copy the iTunes meta data to the mp3 files themselves?

I have recently began using MS Windows 8. As a long time user of iTunes, I have a very large and well organised library.
The music app built into MS Windows 8 is something which I would like to start using. Yet, it builds the music database from the mp3 files themselves; which after using iTunes for so long contain little (zero) information to describe each file.
Is it possible, to transfer the meta data stored in my iTunes library and save it to the mp3 files themselves - so that when I open the files in another media player, it contains the same descriptive information?
    In advance, thanks.

Normally any meta data you edit in iTunes is copied to the tags, although iTunes doesn't always update things properly if the files in question have two or more embedded tags. You can however move the entire library without losing any information as follows.
These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

    Hi Treenr3,
Sounds like you have been on the right track with regard to troubleshooting this issue. It may be worth going over the font troubleshooting in the following article, just to double check (it refers to a previous version of iTunes, but the troubleshooting steps should be similar).
iTunes 9: Font text is incoherent or appears in a different language

It may also be worth trying some isolation troubleshooting in new test user account with just a couple of the tracks that are having issues to see if it persists.

  • ITunes Artwork with no embedded covers in the MP3 files ?

    Hi
    New iTunes user,
I have a question is it possibly to have artwork displayed in iTunes without having embedded artwork images actually in the MP3 files ?
I use Windows Media Center and WMP12/7MC just uses the Folder.jpg Hi-Res cover image in each albums folder.
It appears iTunes only shows any covers if I embed covers in to the MP3 files which I'd rather not do.
What are my options if any?
    Many thanks.

I have my entire music collection ripped using iTunes and stored on a Mac mini running Windows. It is all in Apple Lossless format and shared with Windows Media Player and Media Center which can play the Apple Lossless files thanks to a solution I came up with along with assistance from Milenko Mitrovic.
While I do deliberately chose to embed 600x600 pixel artwork in each track (disk space is cheap), I also put a folder.jpg of the same artwork in each album folder for the benefit of WMP and Media Center.
The steps I use to do this are as follows.
    1. Rip the CD using iTunes
    2. Tell iTunes to download album artwork for that Album. Life is made much easier if you only do one album at a time.
    3. Look in your Music folder for the iTunes folder and look in that for the Album Artwork folder
    4. In the Album Artwork folder will be a Download folder and in that various subfolders eventually leading to a file called something like A392573AD3DE300C-45855BDAB6F38792.itc2 by checking the file creation date/time you will be able to confirm it corresponds with the one you just downloaded.
    5. Use the free utility bitmaprip available here http://mark0.net/soft-bitmaprip-e.html to 'extract' the real artwork from inside Apple's proprietary itc2 file. You can then move this to the iTunes album folder for that album and name it folder.jpg
If you then like I do, want to make this artwork embedded, then do the following extra steps.
    6. Select one of the tracks for the album
    7. Copy the artwork to the clipboard
    8. Clear the downloaded artwork
    9. Delete any folders left in your Album Artwork folder so they do not confuse you for the next album
    10. Select all the tracks for the album
    11. Paste the artwork in

    Hi David,
Thank you for your detailed question. It sounds like the real issue is pdf files. Are there any antivirus/firewalls that might be blocking this specific file type? or are there any preferences in your control panel that might be blocking this?
Do you have any stored preferences for PDF files in Firefox?

  • Music plays in iTunes, but NONE of the MP3 files are visible in Explorer

This one is a bit of a mystery.
When I open up any of the folders in my iTunes Music folder, they appear to be empty. No MP3 files are listed at all. Yet, iTunes can still play the music.
    Here are the details:
    1. I keep my iTunes media content on an external hard drive, and iTunes is working fine. Some albums have disappeared but most of my music shows up in iTunes and plays properly. Therefore, the music files have to be there.
    2. When I right-click on my iTunes folder in Windows Explorer and choose "properties" I get a result: Explorer scans the folder and tells me I have 98.8 gigabytes in 18,279 files, (though when I look around, I see that a LOT of albums are missing). Yet, Windows Explorer is finding a lot of files even though I can’t see them.
    3. However, when I right-click on a folder inside my iTunes folder and choose “properties” (the folders for each artist and for each album are still there and still visible) I get weird results. It says that there is some small amount of data in each folder (27 kilobytes or 35 kilobytes) and some random number of files (2, or 5, or 6). It doesn't matter how many songs are actually on that album, it just gives me this small unrelated number. Yet, I can’t see any files listed at all.
    4. Under the View tab in Folder Options, everything looks fine to me. I don’t see a setting there that would hide MP3 files.
    5. I tried checking “show hidden files” and all that sort of thing, but nothing changed.
    6. I did a virus scan and it revealed no threats.
    7. I also went into the Command Prompt and used the dir command to see what was there. I could see all of my folders including my iTunes music folder. I have pictures, Word documents, Excel files, etc on this external folder as well. I can see all of these files no problem. I can also see all the Artist and Album folders in my iTunes music folder. However, even using the dir command, I can’t see any songs – there are no MP3 files visible. I reveal hidden and system files (dir /ah), I then see some files like these:
    desktop.ini
    AlbumArtSmall.jpg
    Folder.jpg
    8. I tried to play the music from VLC media player and Windows Media Player, but that doesn’t work because the files can’t be seen by those programs either.
    9. However, when I open iTunes, all the music is there and playable. Only iTunes sees the music.
Anyone have any idea what could have happened? The one thing I changed recently is that I ran the iTunes Genius function. It scanned my music and did what it was supposed to do, and it worked fine. I doubt that Genius could have done this to my external hard drive. I’m guessing I picked up a computer virus somehow, but my virus scan doesn’t reveal anything.
Anyone have any ideas about what is going on?
    Thanks!
    Doug

    OMG!!!!!!!!!!
You were absolutely right, Rob. I couldn't believe it when I saw it. I've got nearly 200 Artist folders with 1,000 or so Album folders - and they are all completely empty of music.
But in the middle of that long list of folders, there is an innocuous looking folder labelled "Music." I looked inside that folder and, bam, there they were - all 92 gigabytes of my missing music files in a complete copy of all those Artist and Album folders.
I thought I was going crazy! How could iTunes be playing all this music when as far as I could tell, it had all vanished? But there it was. As you said, iTunes had simply moved it down a level in the folder hierarchy and then didn't delete all the original folders.
And as I scanned the original list of Artist folders, I also saw the other folders: Podcasts, Audiobooks, iPod Games, etc. I hadn't even noticed them before. I just assumed that all the folders I was looking at were Artist folders.
Thank you so much, Rob. I'm not sure I would have ever solved this "case of the missing music files" on my own. I would have continued to bang my head against "hidden files" settings and all that. Perhaps I would have tracked these files down by looking for their location using "Get Info" in iTunes. But maybe not. I had no reason to suspect that I didn't know where the music files were: after all, the Artist and Album folders were all right there. They were just empty! I was so focused on the folders being empty, it never occured to me that iTunes had created exact duplicate folders somewhere else.
Do you know if iTunes had any practical reason for leaving all those empty folders behind? I'm just wondering if it is safe to manually delete them. I noticed, for example, that they aren't completely empty. They contain hidden files of Album Art and various ini files. I wouldn't want to delete them and then find out that I just deleted all my album art and a bunch of important settings files.
Thanks again. You saved my neck with this one.

  • Itunes "Ignoreing" some of the MP3 files

Afterthe latest issue of Itunes that i have slapped into my system a while ago,
I realize that Itunes won't recognize some of the properly tagged, legally bought, or ripped mp3 files from my own collection.
I am a year old Itunes and Vista user
didn't have any problem with both software until the latest patch from apple, I have downloaded.
Note that, I did "NOT" have any probelms with these files until the latest automated patch that i have installed a while ago.
    In description.
I click on "Add Folder to Lib." -> I go to my MUSIC folder and then click on the album of "Norah Jones - Not too late" -> Itunes skips the first 3 of the tracks from these folder.
so I click on "Add File to Lib." -> click on specific files to be added. -> does not respond.
Click & Drag / "Right click" on the file and "open with" Itunes / alternating the name of the file and its tag / Re-installation of Itunes / Formatting the Window
    All my efforts seems nothing
Again, these ignored files are formatted to MP3 and properly tagged.
I personally bought or ripped legally from my own collection.
These files does not have any kind of expiration date or restrictions.
Lastly, these ignored files work great on other media players
    please advise

As is clear from that set of facts, the problem is in iTunes. It has been reported many times here.
If the file is already in your library but has stopped being able to play, use Advanced > Convert ID3 tags and change it to one of the versions iTunes will accept.
If it not already in your library, as seems to be your case, you will either have to re-rip from CD with the new iTunes, or else find another program that can clean up the MP3. Audacity or Switch can do this. I have also heard, but have not tried, that mp3Trim or VBRfix can clean up the files to iTunes's satisfaction.
Pls let us know if this helps.

  • Need to create sale order from the flat file & mail has to be sent

    Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to create a sale order from a flat file and once the oder is created, mail has to be sent to customer as well as to internal user with the order details. I want to know how this process can be implemented and what adapters are needed to execute this.
it would be very helpful, if i get an step-by-step procedure.
Points assured for any helpful answers.
    Thanks in Advance
    Jai

    HI Jai,
You need to create two interfaces as file will be sending the Sales oreder details that you need to capture in IDOC or RFC and then have to trigger to create the sales order. For this Standard BAPIs are also available.
These RFC or BAPIs will response with Sales order details that you need to divert to Mail adapter with the use of BPM and also have to go for Async to Sync bridge.
    File -
    >XI (BPM) ---> BAPI/RFC  (Request)
    MailAdapter <- XI (BPM) <--- BAPI/RFC (Response)
For this refer below links for step by step

If you will use IDOC then In IDOC inbound processing you need to trigger for Sales order creation and then have to send the Sales Order generated IDOC as an Outbound to Mail Adapter
    Flat file -
    > XI ---> IDOC
    IDOC -
    > XI ---> Mail
This will be bit easy scenario to develope as compare to using BAPI with BPM
