Order prints with border through iPhoto

Is there a simple way to order prints through iPhoto's Kodak service and have them include a border?
It seems in order to use the iPhoto print order service you need to have 1 click ordering turned on which only give you a single option of "Buy".

The only way I've found is to use photos that have a border when viewed in iPhoto.
I have a way that isn't that easy for a one-time but it works if you order frequently. I use Pages from iWork '08:
# Go to Page Setup in a Pages blank document and create a 4x6 (or whatever size you order) custom page.
# In Page Setup, choose this to be your page
# Drop in an image from the Media window and size it as you would like
# Define the image as a placeholder from the Format> Advanced menu
# Save this as the template for your photo
# Next time you need a photo with a border, just choose the template
# Drop a photo into the photo that exists on the template, the new photo will replace the one in the placeholder
# Print, then in the Print dialog choose Print PDF to iPhoto
# A photo with a border is placed in iPhoto. Order that one.
It's a pain for just a border, I know. But you can add text, graphics and inset photos and stuff to your Pages template and get a nice photo with custom artwork - at that point it's far less trouble than using the web-services that places offer.

I think so but if you're orderikng large photos they may be a bit fuzzy depending on the pixel dimensions. What are the pixel dimensions of the image giving the warning and what size print are you ordering?
Here are the results of a print test that I ran. The pixel dimensions are the minimum that won't give a warning for the sizes shown:

White background of image created in Photoshop prints as grey through iPhoto postal ordering service.

I have created an image in Photoshop with a white background (I stuck with the default white background that the new image gave me). Over the top of this, I placed some images, saved it as a JPG, imported it into iPhoto and ordered it as a postcard-sized picture.
When I received it in the post, the whole image had printed with a grey overtone: the white background was in fact grey, and the pictures over the top were darker.
How can I resolve this to print my image with a truly white background through iPhoto's ordering service?

If unchecking the scene-referred profiles box clears the display problem in Photoshop, you most likely have hit a known bug with defective monitor profiling packages building defective monitor profiles that affect Photoshop and After Effects — specifically, the defective profile is erroneously marked as "scene referred."
Version 4 ICC Profiles: If your are using v4 printing profiles, try Googling for more information...some symptoms of this bug are Photoshop prints a light cyan or blue in the page white areas. The Fix is to use Version 2 printer profiles.
there is another old known issue that has to do with trying to Hard Proof simulate press conditions (printing cyan in whites) but i am not sure what you are trying and i can't recall it right now

Yes. But I would update the version installed by the iLife 11 disk to the latest version of iPhoto 11 which is 9.4.3 for running your library. A number of fixes and changes were made between 9.0 and 9.4.3.

Order Prints button disabled Yosemite, iPhoto 9.6

I tried to order prints today and found out that I can't the order button is disabled. How can I re-enable the button?
Notice the image behind on top, is selected, but the Order Prints is disabled.

Do you still have the original library that you used iPLM to rebuild. I as because I didn't see anywhere that you used iPhoto itself to repair the database. If you still have it try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

Printing with Border off centre

When i try to print a 4x6 print with a border the print module is putting the following minimum margins: L 0.35 R 0.32 T 0.28 B 0.53 so the rpint is off centre. I can't make these any smaller and making them all 0.53 looks to big. Any ideas it doesn't put the image centrally?
I tried resizing the image in PSE5 editor to exacly 4x6 but made no difference.

I tried borderless and it does set the margins to zero. However when I put in 0.2 cm and print it doesn't come out quite right. Looks fine on the LR preview. Cell dimension in LR are correct at 14.84x9.76 but actual print is 14.6 x 9.8 and sightly off centre (L 0.15 R 0.25).
This is much better than I was getting as had a look in the Canon print properties and under Page Layout in the Borderless section there is a slider "Amount of Extension". I set this to the left so the minimum and got a big improvement.

I hope there is as it would be a huge omission on apples part especially as we're supposed to be "post PC".

Edited images from the iPhoto app can be saved to the Camera Roll. Images from Camera Roll, Photo Stream, Synced with iTunes or just imported from a camera card can be ordered via this newly released free app:

Printing w/ border in iPhoto 5

Hi,
I am using a Pixma iP4200 printer and have no problem printing borderless but now I want to brint WITH borders. In iPhoto I go to page setup and choose my iP4200 and 4X6. However, when I got to print I get an error message as the preview picture. This is iPhoto 5.
How do I fix this.

I suppose this sounds really silly, but were themes SUPPOSE TO COME with the ILife08? or is there something more we must buy? I don't understand the home based theme printing?

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Welcome to the Apple Discussions. The reason the small size reported (not the size that it stops at) is that the image files are converted into a pdf file for uploading and printing as are the books, calendars, etc.
Have you tried just 10 or 20 files to see if it's a size issue or maybe a bad file that's near the end of the list?
Another possibility, but rather wild I'll admit, is maybe there's an upload limit imposed by your ISP. Also make sure there are no CMYK image files in the batch as they are not supported by Apple's printers.

I cannot print a picture in Lr5 without a border, I have adjusted print settings to be "no border" and ticked zoom to fill on image settings but the layout margins wont go below 0.13 " leaving me with a 5.75 v 3.75 print (with border) instead of a 6 x 4

I can no longer order prints, book etc. I have a valid Apple id but it keeps telling me my iclick is enabled?

I can no order prints and books through iphoto. The order areas are greyed out.
I have a valid Apple id - this I have checked in my account information.
I asks me to enable the iclick. A use another Apple id.
Can anyone suggest why this has occured and how I cure it?
I really use this program a lot and find it better than others on the market.

try going to your account in the apple store and re-entering all of yoru information and being sure One CLick is on and try again
