Order proposal in MRP

Hello experts,
when I run MRP, I want ONLY ONE PLANNED ORDER for the material for a fixed quantity.  Even though the shortfall is more, I want only one planned order for a fixed quantity.
I have tried FX.  But I get multiple order proposals with a constant quantity.
Kindly help.
Regards
Tom

Hi,
I don't think your requirement can be solved in standard SAP. As I checked lot sizing procedures I saw that SAP concept is to avoid material shortage - your requirement is against this.
http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/fe/819b9f643b11d3b4e40004ac160649/frameset.htm
If you want to get one planned orders, you should use period lot sizing procedure - in this case you would get only one for the specified period. But at the same time to get fixed quantity makes no sense since requirement may vary from time to time...
Fixed lot size can't help as described by you because you get several PldOrd with fixed lot size if the requirements are higher than the fixed lot size defined by you.
You can only terminate the planning run if more than one procurement propsal should generated by the system (MRP > Planning > MRP Calculation > Define Error Processing in the Planning Run).
You can specify a threshold value for the maximum number of order proposals for the fixed lot size in Customizing for MRP in the IMG activity Define error processing in the planning run. If this value is exceeded, that is, if too many procurement proposals are created for a date and for a material, the material is provided with a termination message.
Rounding down would be the best if it was possible to round down the quantity.
Well, I have doubts whether you can solve this in standard system.
(Maybe if you describe the business process experts can suggest you a workaround or something.)

Csaba

How to stop transferring Blocked Sales Order requirement to MRP?
We have scenario there we entered 100 line on orders, due to one or other reason we need to block the orders and do not want to transfer the requirement to MRP till the time the particular blocked removed manually.
How to do this? There is suggestion to use VOFM - Routine for transfer requirement. But not sure as that is the solution.

    Hi,
Define a new delivery block whee check the Confirmation and assign the block to the order. System will not pass the requirement to the MRP.
Path: LE >>Shipping >> Deliveries >> Define reason for blocking.

  • Sale order exclude from MRP

    one requirement from user
He want to stop future sale order include into MRP
For example sale order delivery date is 31.03.2012
Based on the backward scheduling , planed oder created(lead time is 4 weeks) proerly for the component and Purchase order for raw material
It leads to more inventory,as per the delivery date the sale order should include into MRP on January 2012
My requirement is future sale order should exclude and it include as per the lead time
now they are using NEUPL procesing key for MRP run
they run the MRP run daily

    Hi,
    try with below option
In sales order have field Schedule line category to set CN
    Schedule line category
A classification that distinguishes between different kinds of schedule line. The category determines how the system processes the schedule line.
    Use
The schedule line category determines, for example, whether the system passes on requirements to materials requirements planning (MRP).

  • Sales order link to MRP run

    Dear gurus,
I have one query regarding sales order link to MRP run.
I had created sales order by VA01 & also independent requirement in MD61.
Both are acknowledged in MRP run.I know the requirement in MD61 transferred for MRP run(MD02/MDBT/MD01).
But my question is how sales order requirement considered in MRP run i.e. link to MRP run.Is there any customization?
    Pl.suggest the same...

    Hi,
    Strategy 11  :-
Sales Order creation - no impact.
    BSF    Gross planned independent requirements
KSL    Sale from stock without independent
    Requirement reduction
Goods Receipt - minus the quantity for the oldest planned independent in demand management. For e.g. if PIR is 100 and delivery 90, PIR becomes 10 (withdrawal 90).
Delivery - no impact as delivery is issue from sales order.
    Hope clear to you.

  • Purchase Order Based on MRP

    Hi,
when ever i create PO from the order recommendation based on MRP i see same items in multiple rows.
For eg If raw material RM1 and RM2 are to be ordered based on MRP and required qty is RM1=10 , RM1-20, RM2=4, RM2=9
when i raise PO through Order recomd the PO takes 2 RM1 and 2 RM2 material in PO
Is it possible to consolidate this similar item in PO.
    swap

    Hi...
It seems strange that he says, because MRP Wizard by consolidating units of a single product when the delivery dates are the same. Now, what clearly if you can do is to select only one of the lines by modifying the quantities. The lines will be used is not possible to eliminate the recommendations so as not to lose the consistency of it.
I hope you will be helpful,

  • Planned order creation via MRP depends, If we change Delivery date in STO

    Hi,
Planned order  creation via MRP depends, If we change Delivery date in Stock transfer Order.
I created STO with delivery date as 31.1.2012 and when i checked MD04, i can see Planned order created on 27.2.2012 with the same above STO quantity .
Now when i changed the delivery date as 30.1.2012 and runned MD03, and then checkd MD04, planned order disappeared.
Why Planned order got created when STO delivery date was 31.1.2012 and when I changed the delivery date in PO, planned order disappeared.
    MRP profile details :
    Plnd delivery time   1
    GR processing time   1
    Planning time fence  38
    Tot. repl. lead time 38
Can you please let me know why system is beaving in this manner?
    Regards
    Utsav

    Hi,
Normally , MRP runs based upon the requirements. If your STO is created for a date , system checks through the availabiloty check wheather there exists any stock for that date to get deliverred in the supply plant .If there exists for that date the stock , planned order will not be created. If no stock available then a planned order will be created in MRP.
cHECK the availability check parameters assigned to material master in supply plant.

  • Transit Order proposal

    Dear SAP.
I would like to know if it is possible to have a different delivery
date, for a Transit Order created from a Sales Order.
In the Sales Order processing, I have customized a Item Category which
automatically generates a Transit Order proposal. The material in that
Sales Order Item has to be shipped from the plant specified in the
Transit Order to the plant of the Sales Order Item, and then to the
    final customer.
When, while processing the Sales Order, you have to complete the
required data for the Transit Order proposal, the system automatically
sets the delivery date of the Transit Order to the date specified on
the Sales Order (required delivery date). And this date cannot be
changed manually. It is obvious that the delivery date for the Transit
Order should be before the required delivery date of the Sales Order.
I have set the field TVEP-AUBST, at the Schedule Line level, but it
    does no effect.
How can I solve this problem?
    Thank you.

  • Reduce Sales Order element from MRP using MIGO (Movement Types)

    Hi Folks,
I was wondering if its possible to remove the Sales Order element from MRP through a movement type using transaction MIGO.
Basically we don't want to use a delivery document to do this.
Thanks in advance for your help.

to remove the Sales Order element from MRP through a movement type
Sorry I am not sure whether I understood your requirement correctly.  You need to reduce the inventory by doing MIGO instead throgh PGI which means, the movement type will also differ.  Better if you can brief about your requirement, a suitable suggestion can be given.
Incidentally, this is not the right forum to post.  You can post in the following forum
    [Forum: ERP - Sales and Distribution (SD) General |SAP ERP Sales and Distribution (SAP SD);

  • How can I set a fixed scrap qty on planned orders created by MRP?

During production of some specific subassemblies, destructive testing is done that requires us to scrap two pieces per production order.  I know I can set an assembly scrap percent, but what I need instead is a way to set a fixed assembly scrap quantity that will get loaded onto every planned order created by MRP for these subassemblies.  If we can't do this, we can't plan the correct order quantity and eventually end up being short of parts.  I know we can set a safety stock or safety time, but I'd rather just plan the right quantities if possible.
Is there a user exit, configuration option, or master data setting that will allow me to do this?
    Thanks,
    Randy

    Hi Randy
This can be solved by one solution. _You can try this._
You define the same item in BOM again with qty 2 nos. Double click on the item no. Then it will take you to item detail. There in Basic data tab page at quantity data  ( Tick the fixed quantity. ).
When ever BOM explodes for the header material automatically The item will be exploded 2 nos extra.
    Ex
The header is Mat X and items is Mat Y. While creating BOM for X give item Mat Y in item no 10. give the quantity as per the requirement.
And again give item Mat Y in items no 20. give quantity 2 nos and activate the fixed quantity tick as instructed above.
When ever requirement for Mat X is 100 nos. The plan order for Y will be 102 nos .
    Hope this will clear.

  • Type of planned order created by MRP run

    hello,
I have one concern regarding planned order creation through MRP run..
our MRP creates  automatically order type LA
I wanted that for some materials,  the MRP creates  planned order type PR ( with account assignment Q ->  WBS element, coming from sales order)
what is the customizing point to make this ?

    Hi,
I think that this happens automically when the requirement is created in the WBS SEGMENT, AND cOLLECTIVE INDICATOR IS NOT SET TO 2

  • Effect of manually created proposal on MRP Run

if there is any proposal which might have been created by the user manually & not via MRP run, does it have effect on the results of MRP.
will the system ignores the requirement as it has been covered already via manually created proposal.

    Dear Geetika,
if there is any proposal which might have been created by the user manually & not via MRP run,
does it have effect on the results of MRP.
Yes definitely it have effect on MRP
MRP checks All Firmed Receipts & creates procurement proposals
will the system ignores the requirement as it has been covered already via manually created proposal.
Say for example demand is there for material as 50 PCS
Now manually user created Production order for that 50 pcs
Now if run MRP than system will not create any plan order as already Production order consists for 50 pcs
Again we have add demand for the same as for another 50 pcs
so now total demand became for that material is 100pcs
Now Run MRP system will create plan order for 50 pcs
As we have already 50 pcs of production order which is created manually
    Hope the above clarifies

  • MRP - firming Purchase Order dates for MRP run

We are using demand management and MRP to create purchase requisitions for external procurement. It works fine and creates purchase requisitions based on the monthly demand entered in MD61. However, if I have a purchase order with a delivery date of a few months in the future, MRP always asks me to reschedule the order to meet current demand. i.e. it reduces the quantity on a requisition because it expects the rescheduled PO to meet the demand. In addition, it creates a requisition for the full demand a few months out, even though I have a PO delivery on that date (as it expects me to move the PO to the current date) See example below
Does anyone how to get MRP to treat a PO delivery date as fixed or firmed and create requisitions based on this?
We are using MRP type PD,  a planning strategy that looks only at LSF in demand management and KSL in SD requirements.
    Thanks
    Donal
    Scenario:
    Current Stock:               500 KG
    Safety Stock Level:        1000 KG
    Demand:
    Aug: 1500
    Sep: 2000
    Oct: 3000
    PO del date 01.10.08 : 750 KG
When I run MRP it proposes the following
01.08.08 Requisition: 1250 KG. Aug demand (1500) + deficit below safety stock (500) = 2000 less PO that it is saying I should move to July (750). (I want this qty to be 2000)
    01.09.08 Requisition: 2000 KG. Sep demand (2000) - OK
01.10.08 Requisition: 3000 KG. Oct demand (3000). Doesnu2019t look at PO dated 01.10 at all. (I want this qty to be 2,250)

    OMDW
    rescheduling horizon days fixes this.

  • Sales Order Blocked for MRP

    Dear All
i hav a scenario for make to order where sales order created should default block for MRP,only authorized person should release the block
Please suggest how to do this
    Regards

    Hi Sugunan,
You can use default delivery blocks for your requirement.
IMG - Sales and Distribution - Basic Functions - Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements - Transfer of Requirements - Block Quantity Confirmation In Delivery Blocks - "Deliveries: Blocking Reasons/Criteria".
Here you have the option of creating new entries. For a particular delivery block you have multiple controls as under:
Sales order block - Indicates whether the system automatically blocks sales documents for customers who are blocked for delivery in the customer master.
Confirmation block - With this you can control in addition to blocking delivery, also block the confirmation of order quantities after an availability check during sales order processing. So MRP won't be affected because no requirements will be transferred to MRP even when the sales order is saved.
Printing block - Indicates whether the system automatically blocks output for sales documents that are blocked for delivery.
Delivery due list block - The system does not take a sales document with this block applied into account when creating a delivery due list. You can only create deliveries manually for sales documents with this type of block.
Picking block - block for picking goods in delivery.
Goods issue block - Will not allow goods issue if the block is active.
    1. I would suggest create a new delivery block with a suitable description & only tick on "conf."
    2. Go to VOV8 - select the document type - assign the delivery block.
Now whenever you will create a sales order with the specific document type, the system will propose the delivery block by default for all customers. If you check at the item level - schedule lines, the system will do the availability check. When you save the sales order, the block will function & the system will not transfer the requirements to MRP. Even if you run the MRP using MD50, the system will not generate the planned order.
If you assign the reason for rejection to the sales order item, then the system will show the status of that item as complete. If there is only 1 item in the sales order, then the system will change the status of the whole sales order as complete which is not recommended.
    With best regards,
    Allabaqsh G. Patil.

  • Production order status and MRP planning - CNF and DLV

I am confirming a production order using CO15. I have a single operation. The control key of the operation says that there will be no goods receipt. The GR will be done seperately using MIGO to order. My order is for 24000. I do a GR for 23000 using MIGO and then do a final confirmation using CO15. The order is now in status CNF and PDLV. Now for planning in MD04 it still shows a pending qty of 1000. If I TECO the order or mark it 'delivery complete' then it is wiped out of planning.
My question is if there is a configuration setting where if a order is in CNF but not delivered it should get wiped out of MRP planning?
    thanks a lot

    John,
The problem is that doing so would lead to (business) inconsitencies and I do not advise you to TECO or DLV the order just to get rid of it.
Whilst it may not be "nice" to see it appear in MD04 it is there for a purpose - to reflect the fact that a quantity is going to be goods receipted.
    EG:
You have an order for 10  --> MD04 shows an expected GR of 10.
You do a final confimration for 7 --> MD04 now shows an expected GR of 7.
When you do the MIGO for the order for a qty of 7 , the order will disappear form MD04 - which is right.
If that order was to disappear from MD04, during yur next MRP, SAP would generate another procurement proposal to cover any requirements you may have.
As Vivek said, I would investigate doing an AUTO GR.
    Hope it helps.
