Order stuck in preparing order

i purchased http://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberpowerpc-gamer-xtreme-desktop-intel-core-i7-8gb-memory-2tb-hard-driv...  on saturday night around 7 and it went to preparing order and i thought first thing monday it would ship out, now being tuesday it is still stuck in preparing order status it is supposed to arrive tomorrow and if it doesnt get here tomorrow you wont ever see me buying anything again at best buy.

Hello brandonmlong,
That looks like a sweet PC! I can certainly understand your anxiousness to receive it and get started on it with work and play! I'm disappointed to read that read that it doesn't seem to have shipped yet and I apologize for any inconvenience that you may be enduring as a result.
There are numerous reasons that an order may not ship right away, including processing or shipping from a partner vendor directly to you. I'd like to look into the status of your order in more detail, but will need some additional information to do so. If you will please send me a private message that includes your order number, full name, and telephone number, I will begin researching the situation for you.
Thank you for bringing your concern to my attention!
Sincerely,

  • Cannot restore any device in iTunes, stuck on preparing for restore

I've tried restoring 2 iPhones using iTunes in windows 7, neither have worked
What I do is entering the restore mode (where I press on the lock and home buttons together...), connect to computer, iTunes identifies the device, extracts software, connects to apple, but gets stuck on preparing iPhone for restore.
    I've tried restarting my computer
    removing and reinstalling iTunes: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    turned off Windows firewall
    but nothing worked!
checked hosts files and it has nothing about apple
I only can remember error 2005, which pops up after I disconnect the iPhone
So, I tried to restore using another computer and it worked like a charm!
I need to fix iTunes in my computer, please help.
    Thanks.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Still stuck on "Prepared for Shipment"

My order status switched over from "Not yet shipped" to "Prepared for Shipment" a few days ago but still has not shipped (although it still says "Ships by Feb. 29". Waiting on a 500GB TC in NY. Anyone else still stuck on "Prepared for shipment" that preordered, or is everyone seeing that their TCs have shipped already? Thanks!

    Michael,
My TC is in Tennessee and still scheduled for delivery on March 5th...
Left Shanghai, then to Alaska, then to Tennessee.....
I think there were many pre-orders and the later ones are going to take some time.
I ordered mine on January 18 so for the people that ordered in February, it looks like it is going to take awhile before it is shipped instead of prepared for shipment...
    Glad you like my signature...

  • My apple TV 3 is stuck in recovery. When connected to iTunes through microUSB, it gets stuck in "Preparing Apple TV for restore", then after what seems forever, it gives me an error 2003. What can be done?

I tried to update my Apple TV today through iTunes using a microUSB. It gave me an error, I tried again and now it is stuck in recovery mode. If I plug it into the TV, it just shows that I have to connect it to iTunes (just the picture). I unplug everything, plug the microUSB and USB, plug the power, open iTunes, it shows, asks me to restore, I click Restore. It starts extracting the file, finishes, then gets stuck in "Preparing Apple TV for restore..." for what seems forever, when it finally times out, I get an error number 2003. I have tried different USB ports, no other USB device is connecte, I have tried restarting the PC (running windows 7, up to date, iTunes up to date as well), I have tried redownloading the IPSW and even using the shift+restore and manually selecting the .IPSW file, and to be honest, I give up! If anyone can help, I'd truly appreciate it. Thanks!
PS: I also tried pressing menu+down for 6 seconds to restart, I tried pressing menu+play to restart, I tried pressing menu+down 6 secs and then menu+play 6 seconds for the so called DFU mode, nothing works, the Apple TV just restarts back to the "connect to itunes picture" along with the fast continuous white light flashing.

Time Machine Backups on Hard Drive as well as on my Time Capsule seem to be stuck in preparation stage for the whole day. Any idea what i need to do to solve this issue ? Appreciate the assistance. Thank you.

  • Upgraded from 10.6 to 10.8 and time machine is stuck on 'preparing backup'

I am running a MBP, purchased in 2011. I upgraded on Sunday from 10.6 to 10.8 and everything seemed to be working fine. Thought I would do a backup but the drive has just been stuck on 'preparing backup' for ages. Does anybody have any ideas of what I can do?
    Thanks.

I was going to suggest a restart - glad that I didn't. When upgrading OS's, there's usually a lot of data to back up, but I'm surprised that it took 'ages'!

  • My sony DCR-SR68 will not connect, stuck on "preparing"

I have tried to connect my sony DCR-SR68 via USB cable, the camera displays proper screen (to choose USB connection for the internal HD), I choose the USB connect, then the screen stays stuck on "preparing."
It's supposed to be communicating with the computer, but it stays like this for well beyond 30 minutes.

If you are attempting to use the camera with iMovie Apple publishes iMovie ’11 Supported Cameras this located by clicking
    http://help.apple.com/imovie/cameras/en/index.html?lang=en_US
In checking it appears your camera is supported, now all you need to do is learn to use iMovie. I would recommend getting started by clicking

  • 3gs Stuck on "preparing iPhone software for restore..."

Attempted to update to 4.1 from 3.1 and iphone is now stuck on "preparing iPhone software for restore..." Can't use phone, or restore it...
the first time I tried to update, it went through the update process but crashed at the very end...I wish I wrote down what error number it gave me then.
since then every time i reset it into dfu mode and connect the phone to itunes, itunes says the phones name is iPhone and n/a for my capacity, software version, and serial number.
I've tried two computers, rebooted both of them, reinstalled itunes, apple want's me to pay 30 bucks to talk to them for support...
QQ I don't know what to do...

My iPhone has been buggy since upgrading to firmware 2.0 and when the new version of iTunes (7.7) came out last night I thought it would be a good idea to do a full restore. I have restored my iPhone in the past and everything worked flawlessly, even if it might not have been speedy.
Here is what happened to me:
I chose to restore my iPhone and it did the same thing you mentioned as it sat there with the status bar running saying it was "preparing iPhone software for restore". It NEVER stopped after quite a while.
    so...
I reset the iPhone and disconnected it and restarted iTunes. I reconnected my iPhone and it recognized it as being in the safety mode (forgot term) and then gave me the option to restore from backup. I selected restore from backup and it then made it past the preparing software but got hung up on actually backing up the iPhone. We are talking hours. I then did a reset on the iPhone and repeated this process and said F it and went to bed.
When I woke up the phone was restored and working and had all of my apps on it but no music, photos, etc. I was ok with that as I needed to leave for work. it had even restored an alarm I had set as it was going off when I entered the room.
My issue is that I don't feel that the phone got a full and clean restore as it had to be removed from the process MULTIPLE times due to the process hanging for hours. Anyone who has restored knows it is not normally this messy or timely of a process.
Anyone who can advise us on what to do would be very, very helpful. I am considering completely reinstalling iTunes on my mac and starting over but don't want to have to do ALL of that (as it would include reimporting all music, photos, redownloading and reinstalling all apps, etc).
I love my Apple products and they are usually good to me but the firmware 2.0 and now this iTunes 7.7 have been some of the buggiest software I have ever used from Apple.
Please help and thank you in advance.

  • Stuck in "Preparation" mode

TC 500 MB, seems to be backing up my 2 other computers on network (mac mini, iMac G5) without problems (first back-up ethernet, then subsequent ones through airport). Same true for MacBook pro, but now MacBook pro gets stuck in "Preparation" mode and never backs-up. It will stay there for 24 hours, never advancing to actual back-up. I tried multiple times, tried with ethernet and that doesn't make a difference. rebooted, repaired permissions etc (usual nonsense), to no avail. Also, When I did have it in Preparation, I could initially for several minutes, hear lots of hard drive writing activity in the Time Capsule, but then it stopped and nothing happens. The only way I could get it to back-up with Time Machine was to delete the original back-up from the TC and start over. Backing up now,
Anyone else stuck in Preparation limbo? Any other solutions?
    thanks
    roger

I am having the same problem, my MacBook Air is stuck in "Preparation" state for hours/days. I even updated to the recent Time Capsule software, but no change.

  • TM stuck on preparing [number] items

    Hey.
My Time Machine usually works fine with my MBP, OS X 10.6.3 and my WD MyStudio harddrive.
But for the last couple of days TM has been stuck in "preparing files" mode, where it's supposed to prepare all files before it makes the back up. It's been loading for hours now and it has gone up to about 3000 files, even though I've barely made any changes to my system at all (IMHO it should be more like 30 files to prepare). The preparation is taking forever!
I kept it running during the night but once it got to the actual "backing up files" mode it got stuck on 19.8 out of 700 mb. So I had to restart it from the beginning and now it's back to "preparing-for-ages" mode again =(
Is there some way to get around the preparation cycle to make it go straight to the back up activity? Or maybe reduce the 3000 (?) files that has been changed?
It feels like I just want to hit the "force quit" button for TM but there isn't one =(

There's likely a problem with the data on your system, or the backups, or the backup drive. Start by verifying your internal HD and repairing your backups (and any other non-boot volumes being backed-up), per #A5 in the Time Machine - Troubleshooting *User Tip,* also at the top of this forum.
If that doesn't help, see #A1 there, to download the +Time Machine Buddy+ widget. See the yellow box in #C2 for explanations of common messages.
You might also want to see #D4 for some reasons for extra-large backups.
If that doesn't provide a clue, post back with full details of what you've done, and the results, and copy and post the widget messages here.
Is there some way to get around the preparation cycle to make it go straight to the back up activity?
No. It's trying to determine what needs to be backed-up. This process will start over on each backup attempt until one completes normally.
It feels like I just want to hit the "force quit" button for TM but there isn't one =(
Do you mean it won't cancel? If so, see #D6 in the Troubleshooting Tip.

  • IPod iOS8.0.2 stuck on "preparing to update"

I just bought a brand new iPod Touch and it's been a complete pain in the *** to be able to transfer my music library.
I'm used to using the iPod Classic which is a pretty basic player.
I was about 75% done transferring my music library (manually) to the iPod Touch (only not the whole library as the size of this device is significantly smaller)
I was doing this by dragging and dropping files.  At first it seemed to work fine, then I noticed that all of my songs on the iPod had a red square with a circle around it.
I ended up doing a restore on the iPod and tried again.  This time it seems to work, but it got stuck on preparing to update.
Is there a setting that should make file transfers more seamless?  I was able to hit the "x" beside the warning and then hit "Sync" when looking at the device page.
Just seems like a lot of additional work.

You did the only thing you could. You did not mis any settings.
    Glitches do occur sometimes.

  • PSE 8 for Mac stuck on "preparing to install"

    Hi all,
Just received the disk of PSE 8 for Mac as a present.  I try to install and it gets stuck on "preparing to install."
    Equipment:  MacBook Pro  Running 10.6.2
Have Lightroom 2, Lightrroom 3 Beta, Acrobat 8 Pro, Flash Player and Community Help Client
Previously i bought and downloaded PSE 8 but I had the same issue.  I 'returned it" and got my money back.
    Ideas please?
    Best,
    Scott

    HI Scott,
Copying the text from your post on the other thread which really helped in understanding this issue:
    Scott says:
"I double click the disk and use the setup.app to install.
It checks  the sys profile.  I then put in my serial number, etc.
Then it just  stays on “Preparing to install”.  (How long is it meant to do this?   Maybe I am not waiting long enough?)
I click the install button.  It goes  grey and then back to white.
Eventually I lose patience and quit out."
Your issue is definately different than the one which could have been resolved by the Tech Doc link which I sent you earlier, actually there are two time the string "Preparing to install.." is shown during the installer workflow, first during the initialization process before the Welcome Screen is shown to the user and second for 1-2 seconds between the transition of user clicking on Install button and Progress Bar being shown to the user. Since, in your case, installer is stucking at Progress bar, the Preparing to Install string is visible evidently to you. A screenshot would have been really helpful in understanding this issue. My bad I should have asked for it...
Regarding the current situation, the workaround here with which Barbara tried to help you, will not work, because your's is very specific and rare issue which we have seen reported only once before on the forum, so I am sure we will get it sorted out. Please follow the below steps:
    1. Go inside the <Macintosh HD>\Applications\Utilities\Adobe Installers\ folder.
    2. If there are any uninstall alias of Adobe sub components like ESTK, Extension Manager, Bridge, Adobe Updater, etc, then please invoke that installer and uninstall all those sub components.
    3. Now try to install PSE 8 again.
    4. If it still doesnt work, then please run the CS4 clean up script for Mac, and select CS4 from the drop down and let me know what all applications it is listing in it as available for cleaning/deleting.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/406/kb406241.html#CS4CleanMac
Please keep me informed, if anything doesnt work out then eventually we will setup a time to meet over the internet and I will get this issue resolved.
    Regards,
    Ankush

  • Lightroom 5 stuck in "Preparing new searchable data"

Freshly-installed Lightroom 5 stuck in "Preparing new searchable data" for hours.
Sure, I have tens of thousands of pictures, but why it takes so long and shows no progress?
It tried cancelling and starting over with no avail.

I had exactly the same thing happen while I was upgrading several of my old catalogs (LR3 and LR4). After several attempts over several days, I thought to check the forums and stumbled onto this thread. JorritJong's suggestion was most helpful (Thank you!) and allowed me to get around the problem. I had been waiting 5+ hours for one my larger catalogs to be upgraded and watching no CPU, Disk or Memory activity for the Lightroom.exe process, I got frustrated and pressed Cancel. But that hung as well. So I killed the process.
When you think about it, JorritJong's suggestion should only improve matters if there is some sort of deadlock or resource contention in the process (ie. a bug in the software). So I took it a step further and limited Lightroom.exe to 1 core (instead of his suggestion of 2). Steps: TaskMgr->Right click Lightroom.exe->Set Affinity, then uncheck "All Processors" and make sure only one is checked. Then I tried opening the very same catalog for upgrade. It was magically done in about 30 mins! Amazing!
Lightroom Devs, please fix this! Surely for every technically inclined user checking these forums and following this workaround, there must be numerous less technically proficient users who are just stuck and frustrated!
