Ordered Broadband But Can't Use BT WiFi
I placed an order today to activate my phone line and receive broadband. Was advised that my order is being processed through something called 'formwise', meaning an additional 5 days delay to activation.
Can someone explain why there is an extra delay and why I can't use BT WiFi whilst I'm waiting for my line to be activated? Very unhappy about this as being able to use BT WiFi whilst waiting for installation date was one of the key factors that made me choose BT.

This normally means that the adviser was unable to process your order and has had to send it to a back office team to complete this. There are different reasons why this may have happened but if you use the 'contact the mods' link in my forum profile to send in your details we can take a look.

You can do nothing if it's not online. With a passcode and iOS 7.1 (there is no 7.2) the device is uselss because it cannot be erased except by you.

You might want to download something called an undelete utility. These can find files and recover them even after they appear to have been lost. There are some undelete utility programs that are free. Look at tucows.com
Also, it appears that you have POSSIBLY overwritten the actual files, which you moved manually, with I don't know what, which you moved in PSE's folder location view.
Next, in the future ... NEVER (that's: don't even think about it) move your photos in Windows. NEVER. NEVER. Not ever. Not once. This always (that's ALWAYS, as in 100% of the time) causes problems and usually makes things difficult to fix.
Lastly ... make regular backups! I must say this in the forums about seventy bazillion times a month. Make regular backups! Regular depends on how often you take photographs and edit them. Since my photographic activity usually happens on the weekends, I make backups every Sunday night. You may need a different schedule, depending on your activity level. MAKE REGULAR BACKUPS! -
I can't use the wifi after 10 pm, but i can use it again at 7 am?
so for some reason, i can't use my wifi after 10 pm. but in the morning when i wake up, i can use it again. is this some parental control or something? please lead me through it. i can't really ask my parents to do it, because they're not technologically advanced. they can probably give me the basic like the password and all, but that's it. how can i fix it? i'm using the wifi on an ipod touch. the wifi works perfectly fine on a regular computer but it doesn't work on my ipod during those certain hours. can someone please help me?
the wifi icon shows up in the upper left corner, but its obviously not connected. there are no restrictions on the ipod at all.

Message was edited by: teedeexxi'd definitely say it was a wifi thing rather than an ipod thing. as far as i can think of there would be no way to tell an ipod to only access the internet between 7am and 10pm. - unless you were to restrict it using the router (i imagine this COULD be possible, but don't know if it actually is).
everything which accesses the internet is given an individual 'mac address'. so if you have say, 3 computers, an ipod, a games console, all accessing a wifi network, that router will recognise them all individually by it's individual mac address. you can use mac filtering to give you an extra level of security to your network. so even if the correct network password is entered onto a wifi enabled piece of technology, if the router hasn't got the mac address entered as one that it should accept, you won't get access to the network.
i must reiterate, i don't know if you can do this, but i would think it may be possible to restrict a certain mac address from accessing the network at certain times of the day (for example a young kid who may be playing with their ipod in bed, but should really be asleep!)
if you go into the settings option on your ipod, general, restrictions, you can play around with your own restrictions and see what they do. mostly they restrict complete access, or the download of explicit content. -

What type of encryption are you using with your wireless network -WEP or WPA?
If your wireless router supports both which it should unless it is quite old and you are using WEP, try switching to WPA which is much more secure than WEP which is important if you have a Windows PC or any Windows based device connected to your network.
In addition, when was the last time you checked Netgear's website to see if there is a firmware update available for your wireless router model that you haven't installed? -

A universal may work but reliability tends to be poor..
You are much better using another airport .. extreme or express.. even a second hand older one.
Or do not use wireless bridge or repeater.. simply run ethernet or use EOP adapters to a second WAP run independently of the main router.. it is far more reliable and far faster solution .. wireless bridge/repeater will halve your wireless speed. -

As note already on the iBA forum [ AppleID for ibooks publishing ], you need two IDs. You can't use your developer ID.
If you already signed up for books with that ID, you need to talk to Apple to straighten things out. -

The iPhone 3GS takes a standard full-size SIM. It's possible that an adapter will work, but it will probably be more reliable if you get a full-size SIM from yur cell carrier.
EDIT: I concur with Tim. The 3GS is a very old model now, as smartphones go, so I would suggest a newer model, saving up if you have to. I myself wouldn't buy anything older than an iPhone 4S at this point.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

I am using iPhoto '09 Version 8.1.2 but can not use iCloud with it. I've looked for updates in iPhoto and iLife'11 but no luck. Suggestions very welcome.
No you won't necessarily lose your photos when upgrading but it's very very unwise not to back up first. Backing up is like using a seat belt in a car. You can drive without one for years and have no issues, but if you do have a problem the outcome will be a lot worse. So, too, with back ups. And upgrading is one of those times when the risks of a problem are higher.
Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store -
