Ordered BT Infinity 10 days ago. Got given a date of today between 1 and 6.
Got my new router on Wednesday so, even after reading the disasters on these forums, I was quite optimistic that everything was going to go well.
Obviously I had to take a day off work, unpaid of course. So I was at home at 1 pm thinking they can't take too long. Then it got to 2 ... and then 3pm. Then I started getting worried. I had to leave at 6 to go pick up a friend in London so I was hoping that the engineer would arrive in the times stipulated. 4pm came and went, as did 5. Went on the website again to check if there was any problem ... nope ... all green. The little help message saying you'll call me if there is a problem. Mobile phone was always switched on and in my hand.
At 6 I had to leave, engineer still nowhere to be seen. Not a single phone call, not from the engineer nor BT themselves. ALL f'ing day waiting for nothing! Thats £300 lost revenue. Way to go!
I've come back to the UK after 15 years in Spain and there not once did any 'service' ever not call to say there was a problem. They were always courteous and always warned of any delays. Here, its like the middle ages. Why wasn't I called? Why did the engineer not arrive when they said he would? Am I to even believe that Infinity is available in my area now that I find it hard to believe anything you say?
You suck. And i'm off as I'm pretty sure you'll want to 'rearrange' a visit for next month some time.

Although photo appears beautiful on phone screen, when reviewed in gallery, half the picture has a large line going through it. Any ideas? I went to VZN and they replaced my first new phone 3 days ago for this same issue.
I'm sorry your pictures appear different in your gallery sillyymom. I know its frustrating with viewing important images. Are you using a 3rd party picture application? do you have any apps that may be conflicting with your pictures. Have you tried to review your picture settings?

Running OSX10.6.8 two email account thru Roadrunner. Both accounts now indicate email sent but they never arrive. Can get inbound email. this started for one account 5 days ago and yesterday for the second account. any suggestions?
When we returned from a weekend trip, both emails were working. The obvious answer [to me anyway] is that the problem was with Roadrunner, not our minimac. The chances of finding out what the problem was with Roadrunner are slim and none.

My computer popped up with an update from iTunes several days ago. I downloaded the update. When I went to open iTunes on my computer, it gives me the following error messages...

Firefox (latest and greatest) has been giving me synaptics scroll wheel errors. It has worked fine up until 3 days ago. I have the latest driver for the touch-pad, from synaptics, for my toshiba laptop L505D-S5986. Operating system is Windows 7 (32-Bit). Have tried it on other browsers, and works as it should. The last add-on i installed for Firefox was "Fox Filter" so my kids couldn't accidentally stumble onto sites of immoral tastes. I can't see why that would have any effect, but it was the last update/add-on i installed to the browser, but even then,.......it was working fine for a week and a half afterwards until now. Please help.

You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
If you detect a faulty add-on, you should contact its author for support. You can also search for alternatives. Site filters are relatively common in the add-ons gallery: [http://addons.mozilla.org addons.mozilla.org]. -

1) When entering through Safary to Google Images and tap on each one of them they do not enlarge nor I am able by click on them to enter into their connected website
2) When I receive an e-mail with images I cannot easily save them in my gallery. It needs more than 10 tabs to the window "save this image" or "save all 3 images" and if I am lucky it saves one image. This is very frustrating, I loose a lot of time trying and affects my job.

I installed Mavericks a few days ago and downloaded all the available updates, which installed correctly (or so it says). Now I can't open my iPhoto app because it says it's being updated. Any suggestions?
There are two ways to recover from this condition.
1. Select
Store ▹ View My Account
from the App Store menu bar, then select View hidden purchases. Stop or resume the download.
2. Open LaunchPad and find the icon of the app you're trying to install. There will be a small progress bar below it. Click the "X" to stop the download. -
I have already purchased WALKING DEAD:EPISODE 2 TO EPISODE 5 in that app at December 17th 2012,why it charge me $15.99 again 5 days ago when I downloaded the EPISODES in my iPhone ?
That is not a practically empty xinitrc - that file only needs one line: exec WM. Other things are entirely optional, and some of them very useful, but I'd encourage you to stick with the simplest xinitrc that will do what you require.
Is slim involved? Probably. That is the source of many problems. But to start narrowing this down, I have 3 suggestions:
1) temporarily (at least) change your inittab to default to runlevel 3 ... actually, is it currently set to 5 or 3? if it is currently 3 that would explain why slim doesn't start.
2) at a tty in runlevel 3 use "xinit" instead of "startx". Startx is fine most of the time, but it is essentially just a complex wrapper for xinit. That complexity can often iadd useful functionality, but it *always* makes troubleshooting more difficult. So for now just use a vanilla 'xinit'.
3) remove dbus-launch from your exec line in xinitrc. This is done by console-kit so it is redundant and potentially problematic. Further BOTH of these are taken care of by slim, so I'd even suggest getting both a jump start on being ready for slim and simplifying troubleshooting by removing both of them. Just make that line "exec openbox-session"
Edit: adding one more:
4) temporarily switch out openbox-session for openbox. I suspect the reason feh's setting of the background is getting overridden is due to a script or setting in openbox's autostart settings - many of these are only invoked when "openbox-session" is called, while "openbox" starts *just* the window manager itself.

The way that Adobe activation and serialization works is kinda like signing into a website. When you log in, a cookie is left on your computer so that you don't have to sign in every time. With Adobe activation and serialization, you get similar cookie files, that way you never have to go through that process again. Adobe never touches those files again, it just checks them to make sure they are there.
You issue you are encountering is the result of this sort of cookie file being deleted, damaged, or invalidated in some way. In most cases, it is because of cleaning software treating it like a website cookie, thinking it is unimportant, and removing it. However, there are many other possibilities including files becoming corrupted due to disk or file handling errors by the system and major system changes.
To take care of the problem permanently, we have to find out exactly what the source of the issue is on your computer and eliminate it (or mitigate it if removing third-party software is out of the question). -
