Ordered my new rMBP today

I finally pushed the button and ordered my new retina MacBookPro!
I won't get it until mid August, but I noticed in the order acknowledgement it included the Min Displayport to VGA Adapter which I didn't even select.
Also, I'm wondering if it will ship with Mountain Lion since it should be out by then.
Also, I was wondering if anyone knows of a Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter?
Does anyone have a suggestion for an optical drive? It seems like the Apple USB Superdrive is overpriced Are there any USB 3.0 external ODD?

Apple announced a TB>FW800 adapter in June but it has yet to ship. One of the 'geniuses' at the Genius bar told me that it wouldn't be out until September.
On the optical drive side - I'd just pay the $79 for the Apple drive. It's not terribly expensive and it's guaranteed to work with your MBP-R.
And, yep, I'm betting that ML will be installed when you receive your unit.

Ordered my new 24" today weeeeeeeeeee!

i took the plunge and ordered a 24" with 2.33 proc, 256 video and wireless mouse/keyboard. got the apple care with a discount and got a canon pixma 600 all in one print scan copy machine with $100 rebate. i ordered directly from the number and ext. i saw in a post here so hopefully that guy will get some commission $. im looking forward to a great apple experience. thanks for the info and helping me to make my choice. i got 5-7 days to wait for delivery. its gonna seem like 4ever

my 24" inch arrived yesterday and i had it setup for me today. this computer kix azz!!! no humming no popping no dead pixels!!!
the 2 bottom corners are a lil dark and the bottom edge is a lil dark but i got it for recording music so i say no worries. i havent tried burning anything yet or playing cd/dvd in it. it does require i resetup my wireless connection when i shut down. but i figured out if i act like its the 1st time i ever connected to the inet when i go through the questions it hooks me right back up. i set my stuff up for g but not b and depending on which site i get good dl speed. my wireless mouse and keyboard showed up today and to my amazement i can use both at the same time so i got the wired right next to the comp and the wireless aceoss the room by my musical gear so i got the best of both worlds. it saves alot of rolling around to get to my controls. im gonna get the canon pixma bluetooth adapter after i get the 100 buck rebate from the printer. i am 1 happy ***. im once was a lil skeptable after my 1st purchase went bad with apple and i was forced to bring in the bbb to make things right. but im 100% apple advocate again even after the all the haters crap here on the forums. dont let a few bads apples spoil the whole bunch never applied better. cheers!

I was quoted a trade in value of $200 and need to apply this to my iphone 6, if the trade in is not going to be $200 I need to cancel. I did call the verizon store today and the woman told me it should be no problem, but I keep hearing horror stories about this trade in program and I need to be sure.

A weird thing happed, in my opinion. On the 24 of august i did order my MacBook Pro witch i got in the 6sth of September. In the same period Apple launched snow leopard (28th august), i thought Apple would be good for there users and did install Snow Leopard on my laptop. Today i did find out (yes a bit late) they didn’t.
I remember they did offer to new users the option to get the snow leopard delivered, so i thought to call them and ask them for the update. But now I’m to late and they won’t send me the update, isn’t that weird? Order a new macbook witch is already old when you get it delivered (sounds like bill gates).
What’s your opinion about this?

It was built before Snow Leopard was finished. They are not going to take items out of boxes to update them which is why they offered the free update.
As noted -> Snow Leopard in the NL store is € 29,00.

Going from my 4 to the new 6 today, any tips?

So my new iPhone 6 16 gb space gray is out for delivery, actually mine and also one for my wife, we are both coming from the iPhone 4.
This is the first time I have ever pre-ordered a new iPhone, especially setting the alarm to get up when pre-order started ugh, in order to get one on release day. But I did it successfully, and today we will have our new devices. And, this will be the first time I have ever gone through activating my new iPhone myself.
So what I have done so far, is a complete backup to the iCloud of each phone. I am assuming that is all I really need to do.
I also understand there is some sort of set up assistant that will walk me through the process of setting up/activating the new phones when I first power them on? I presume this will allow me to restore all my stuff from iCloud, and activate the new phone while de-activating the 4?
Probably dumb questions, but when we got our first iPhones, which was the 4, we just went to the Verizon store and they did everything there for us.

It reboots it but unplugging can also rectify communication issues like this. A restore would be the next step.

If you don't have a backup then the only possible solution is to go back to the store and see if they can get your old phone and create a backup of that. I know very often that Apple employees will wipe the returned iPhones clean before shipping them back to wherever they ship them.
When you say your old phone was "broken" does this mean it is dead and won't turn on?
Do you have a Time Machine backup of your computer, or a clone that might have this info on it?
Other than that I hate to say you may be out of luck. Time Machine and/or a cloning program performed regularily will inevitably save your a** in situations like this.

No, they will only sell you an out of warranty replacement, which for the iPhone 4 is $149 (US).

Go to the Apple Store webpage and in the upper right go to Account and select Track an Order. There you will find the status of your order. You only get a tracking order when the items ships.

Did you choose the wrong back up? There should be a drop box when you go to "Restore from Back up" in iTunes and your iPhone is plugged in, on the Summary page. Choose the correct back up. If you can't find one, and you still have your device, back up your iPhone 4 again and then choose that back up. Or check for an old iCloud back up if you have one.
