Ordering a printed photo book

I am trying to order a printed photo book but when I type in my details my telephone number is rejected as invalid. I have ordered books previously with no problem. Any suggestions?

By trial and error I have solved the problem. The "primary number" field is expecting seven digits but my number is only six digits. I tried putting a leading zero before my number and it was accepted. The leading zero was subsequently dropped automatically. I presume you can also put in a zero at the end but I didn't try that.

  • "primary number" when order the printed photo book

i'm trying to order a printed photo book on apple NZ but when i type in my phone number,
the field got 8 digits but my number has 9 digits. Any suggestion?
    PS: my mac from HK

In the iPhoto preferences do you have NZ set as your print products country?
Is there a leading zero you can leave out?

  • I complete and ordered a hardcover photo book.  Now, I would like to order the same photo book as a soft cover or wire bound.  IPhoto does not seem to have directions for this process.

I completed and ordered a hardcover photo book,  Now I would like to order the same book but with a soft cover or wire bound cover.  IPhoto doesn't seem to have a feature which just lets me change the completed book to another type of cover.

see my answer to your previous duplicate post
duplicate the book in case of issues and use the change \theme button - select the same theme and the new format - preview (in case anything has changed) and order

  • Can I order 2 different photo books I have created in one order and how do I do it?

I want to order 2 different photo books. When I clicked on buying the first one it looks like I will be charged the delivery fee straight away. It does not offer me to continue shopping. So I am not sure. How can I order both books in one order and be charged only one fee?
    Thanks for your help.

Each book must be a separate order. The same goes for calendars, cards, etc.  You can order multiple copies of the same item on one order but not multiple items.

  • Print photo book with billing and shipping addresses in different countries

I live in the U.S. and would like to create photo books for family living in Europe. Rather than sending the book myself to Europe after having it first printed in the U.S. and shipped to me in the U.S., I would like to simply submit the book to the Apple print service in the country it is destined to anyway.
Unfortunately, the Apple print service bases the country in which the order is fulfilled solely on the billing address of the credit card used, i.e. U.S. in my case. In addition, one can not choose a shipping country other than the country of the billing address.
Has anyone else found a way around this limitation?

I can't offer a way around, but at least for me in Europe it doesn't seem to be a problem: I have had Aperture books sent to England whilst the bill comes to me in Switzerland. I think I read once that quite a lot of Apple's European printing is done in Holland, maybe that makes a difference.
More generally I do find Apple's way of dealing with international customers a bit irritating - I can only order software through the Swiss Apple-store in French or German...

  • When I order 4 Aperture photo books can they be sent to 4 different addresses?

I am using Apple Aperture on an iMac. I plan to order soon at least 4 photo books and more later. Can 4 printed books be shipped to 4 different addresses in one order, or do I have to make 4 separate orders? If Apple has filled an order to print a photo book can I make another order without having to upload the book again, since Apple has the book from the previous order?

All parts of an order have to be delivered to the same delivery address. And for additional copies you have to place a new order and upload the book again.
See the information on the Apple Print Products page for your country:

  • Ordering an iPhoto Photo Book

Ordering a Photo Book from iPhoto: the billing and delivery are ONLY in Australia: I bought my Mac in Germany and it is registered here in Germany. There is no option to change the country, delivery address or billing information. It is only marked in Australian dollars as well. Why in the world is Australia even when everything on my computer is in German?

Have you tried selecting the German print store in
    Iphoto -> Preferences -> Advanced?

  • ? about image resolution/color correction when apple prints photo book

My first time making a photo book. I color correct and sharpen all of my images in Adobe Lightroom 2 first. Then I save the jpegs and import into iPhoto to make a book. Is there an option for turning off auto color correction when the file is uploaded to apple for printing? Is there an accurate way to tell how the photos will print on the specific paper they use? Also, what print resolution should the photos be set to? Is 180 dpi enough? Thanks in advance.

first read the Apple pages - http://www.apple.com/support/photoservices/preparation_tips/ - and all of its links
Second - I suspect you will be disappointed. Based on reports on these forums almost everyone who uses iPhoto exclusively to preprocess photos is extremely happy with the results. very often people you over process their photos using a third party program (including Lightroom, Photoshop, etc) are unhappy because the printing process is optimized for point and shoot cameras and iPhoto processing - it is NOT a professional desktop book process
There are no options re color correction - it is built in again aimed at sRGB, point and shoot cameras and iPhoto processing
Plus there have been reported incompatibilities between iPhoto and Lightroom
The print resolution is what it is - if it will be less than 180 dpi you will get a waarning - it can be greater
The papers they print on are specified here - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3412

  • I can't process an order for a photo book.

I am trying to order a photo book. After compiling the book I get a message that my billing info has changed and needs to be approved. This has not happened on previous orders. I re-entered all billing info in the account but still get the same message. Any ideas?

The most common (and the one that got me) seems to be having used the grey palm tree for a back ground on one or more pages with out putting a background photo on it.
The grey palm tree in NOT a background on its own but a placeholder for a background photo - IF you have any pages with the grey palm tree as the background that do not have background photos, select a photo for it or change the background to a solid color one
I have to go through my book 5 times to find the errors I had made
I also suggest asking Apple to tell us which page at least is missing a photo - iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback
For more info on the different pages available for each theme see Liz Castro's iPhoto site - http://www.lizcastro.com/iphotobookthemes/

  • Printing photo book one to page and legible

I cannot figure out how to print one page at a time of my photo book so that I can proof it.  '
The closest I have gotten is to print it both sides of book on one page, but I can't read it then.  Must be a simple way to see a hard copy.
    Advice welcome.  Thanks so much.

Hope this is not a trick question so try this:
    1)    Select the image either in in the Editor or the Organizer, click on the create button and click on the Photo Prints
    2)    Click on the Print with Local Printer button;
    3)    The next window displays the default options for how the printed image will appear and also the options to change the print properties;
    4)    Click the Add button if you want to include more images in the print job; you can also remove any photos you don't want to print;
    5)    Select type of print – e.g. individual prints
    6)    Select Print Size
    7)    Now look for something like this:
    8)    Click on More options to get another screen like this:
That is all to printing an image.  Hope this helps.
To view the pictures correctly, just click on then to get an enlarged copy on the screen.

  • Printing Photo Book with 101+ Pages

Sorry if this has been previously posted, but I could not find anything on this topic. Does anyone know of an online service that will print a photo book with more than 100 pages? I have a photo book I have created in PS6 to commemorate my parents trip to Europe for their 50th anniversary. All that time and effort and then I find out Kodak will only print up to 80 pages! I would really appreciate any suggestions on this!
    Thanks

Thanks Trish. My book is actually 140 pages & viovio only goes to 120. At this point, guess I will look at deleting 20 pages (tough!) and using them. They seem to be the best option so far!

  • Print Photo Books

The print service for photo books made in iphoto is quite expensive. Doe's anybody know another print service, where I could send my photo books?

Is this what you're looking for?

  • Who is Now Printing Photo Books

Got a ton of emails from MyPublisher stating they would no longer be supporting iPhoto books at the end of May. Who is doing the ink and paper work now for iPhoto? I ordered a book just before the deadline and it came out fine (except for one misspelling - typical idiot {me} error). It did not come in an MyPublisher box like some of the past ones have, but in an Apple box of the same configuration.
I felt many of the MyPublisher emails were misleading since they implied that iPhoto would not be capable of printing books any longer.

All of the books I've gotten from Apple, going back some 5 years, have been in Apple branded mailing boxes. It might be a Kodak subsidiary that's doing the printing.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Printing photo book as pdf vertical problem

The books are all set out in landscape mode, but when I chose print and save as pdf it become portrait and all the photos are chopped off to fit!
Any ideas how to fix this?
    Cheers
    Waddo

For me, these settings are working:
But you could also try to create a PDF preview using the "preview Book" button in the "Buy Book" dialog. See:
iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture
This will create exactly the same PDF file as will be sent to Apple.

  • Ordering multiple unique photo books

Is it possible to order different books on the same order number resulting in Apple Print Services shipping them together, and thus requiring only one shipment at a lower cost? Also since these books are being sold to our Senior citizens and they are paying taxes is there a form we can complete that will exempt us from paying taxes?

Is it possible to order different books on the same order number resulting in Apple Print Services shipping them together, and thus requiring only one shipment at a lower cost?
    No -- http://www.apple.com/support/photoservices/ordering_options/
Can I mix and match items on the same order?
    Books, Cards, Calendars:
No. If you want to order several different items, you will need to place a separate order for each unique item. For example, if you want to order one book with a black cover and the same book with a red cover, or you would like to order a card and a calendar, you will need to place two separate orders. However, you can order multiple copies of the exact same book, card, or calendar on a single order.

Possibly - search these forums or contact Apple using the form on the above referenced page - I believe that someone once posted information on that
