Ordering Infinity & existing call packages

If I upgrade from BT Broadband to BT Infinity via an online order, will my exiting Anytime call package be left in place?
The reason I ask is that all the information I've seen on BT.com always talks about BT Infinity plus evening/weekend calls.
Just need to be clear before I start the order process.

place the order if your cabinet is active you will get a confirmed Install date
as to reliability the service is very stable I have personally had it since March last year not one disconnection I was quoted 66/20 when installed received 76/20 speed never varies more than +/- 1.5mb at any time hub has restarted once and that was for the firmware update to the HH3a
As to vision and Youview on the same line I am not sure but i do not think it is possible.
Maybe some one else could advise you there
this link should tell you if your cabinet is live and accepting orders http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/ADSLChecker.TelephoneNumberOutput

  • Ordering Problem - How to Keep an Existing Call Pa...

Hi. I've tried getting an answer from BT directly on this question several times with no joy. I would like to order Infinity (I am currently with Sky Broadband), whilst keeping my existing call package which is an Anytime calls special offer at £3 per month.
It seems impossible to order Infinity without ordering a call package which alters my existing plan and would be more expensive. Is there a way of doing this online? I have been told by BT sales that it is but I can't see the option anywhere.
    Can anyone help?
    Many thanks in anticipation.

you need to call BT sales on 150 and discuss it with them there is noway i know of of doing it online

    Hi All,
I've just ordered a new phone package from BT which includes line rental.
The activation date isn't until 28th March which is fine but do i need to cancel my old phone package and line rental with sky?
    Regards

    Hi d80adc,
I would at least notify your current supplier that your leaving and tell them what date your new service is estimated to be activated.
    Cheers

  • Read this if you are thinking of ordering infinity...

Ordered infinity on 1st of June, had my conformation email after ordering stating that i would have a engineer come and do some work. asking me to be at home 8 Am till 1 PM (even though i ticked the box that said you don't have to be there for this visit as it will be external work). 13th came and no visit. OK i thought no problem as its external work no drama (lost a days pay though).
2 days later bt emailed me saying" sorry we missed you, your new appointment for the engineer will be the 18th also asking me to be at home for this visit 8AM till 1PM, Bt never turned up for this one aswell, No phone call email or text message to say why they have not turned up.( another days pay lost) so i rang bt 0800 800 150... 45 minutes later and 2 bt employees from India that could not help, they put me through to bt infinity division in England. Sharon apologised for the 2 visits that was missed but could not understand why. Sharon put me on hold so she could ring the engineers, 15 minutes later i was told that they would not be coming out today (18th) and she would put a message in there departments diary for some one to ring me on the 19th to explained why and put me on the high priority list.
7.30 pm on the 19th No phone call!!!!! so i rang again 0800 800 150. 20 minutes later and 1 lady from India i got through to the infinity diversion again and asked why no ones have rang me like i was told and promised (Sharon words not mine). Vicky from bt infinity could not believe what had happened to me and was shocked, my activation date is on the 25th and Vicky told me that i should not have had the 2 visits from the engineers until the activation date was completed ( ok £200 notes down the drain for taking 2 days off for no reason) she promised me that some one would ring me tomorrow 21st i told her i have already been feed that line yesterday but she promised they would.
guess what happened...... no phone call....... so after me ringing bt at 7.30pm tonight and finding that the department was closed via a pre recorded message (8pm is the time they close i checked) i tried one more time and got though to a lady that did not have a clue even after reading the notes on the system. she tried to ring the engineers department but got no answer. WHAT A F... JOKE...
I have never had such bad and disorganised customer sevice in my life ( i work in Customer Service myself)
I will be ringing bt back tomorrow in the afternoon to find out if there is anyone that can really help me find out what is happening to my order.
ps. to top it all off my home hub and welcome pack was due today 21st. that did not arrive and i have tracked it. its in isle of man rang the post office and they said it had been sent there by mistake (i live in Chester) now i am worried that if everything goes ahead on the 25th i will not have the home hub in time to start using infinity lol
if you are thinking of ordering infinity good luck you are going to need it after my experience

I feel your pain Bro, had a lot of hassle when I first got infinity, and lately had a bit of hassle before and during the upgrade. There is a serious communication error between various departments at BT and this is something they need to sort out. In my opinion it has lost them a great deal of custom and a great deal of money. As I am from N. Ireland I ended up having to get in touch with my local office in Belfast to sort the problem out and they did it flawlessly without any messing about.
    1. Had engineer out regarding slow speed and I suspected it was a Retail server problem, engineer told me full speed was coming into the premises and reported this back to BT and Openreach.
    2. BT said there was no problem with the server, sent another engineer, same thing...etc etc...Reported back to Openreach.
    3. Openreach said there WAS a problem and that they have now fixed it, guess what...not fixed.
    4. Another engineer call out, same thing.
    5. This went on and on for 3 weeks
    Ended up doing this:
    1. a. Contacted local crew in Belfast.
    2. a. got a call back the next morning and was told they will not be sending anymore engineers.
    3. a. Line fixed within 2 hours of the call, and yes, you guessed it. Server problem all along.
BT needs to stop automatically blaming a lot of the faults on the end user and instead listen to the customer or they would have had this job fixed that same day. Instead they wasted money sending loads of engineers which could have been available for other installations etc.

  • Online Security - Changing Call Packages

    Hello BT Forum,
    Just a quick question.
It seemed pretty easy for me to gain access to details of my Mother's call package; I was after was the expiry date of the current contract.  All it needed was her telephone number, postcode and a tick in the box.
So what is to stop kindly me or some nefarious person from changing my Mother's call package without her knowledge?
I find it perturbing that access to these details was so easy.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Thank you for your suggestion.
I did use the live chat facility but the BT agent was unable to assist - they do not have access to the full account details.  I also tried their telephone call centre but their operator did not have access either, he suggested that I contact their 'new/retention customer' division.  There I found out the details of the contract and immediately thereafter the BT Agent tried to persuade me to 'upgrade' the service and that it would be 'stupid' to cancel the current contract.
It seems to me a rather bizarre process to go through to get what is in effect a 'date,'  which could easily be written on the monthly bill that is sent.  Again I was somewhat amazed at the ease with which I was able to obtain the information but then I do know more details; and perhaps all I was after was an end date.
However, after a little searching I found that rolling contracts are no longer offered by BT (web link noted below).  I was advised that the terms of any existing rolling contract is maintained on a 28 day rolling contract.  That this contract can be cancelled at any time without penalty.  This is the information I need as I am preparing my Mother to be connected to broadband.
So I have the information I need to make a decision about broadband packages.
However, what does not help at this stage is the bombardment of BT advertising literature promoting their Sports Channel with unlimited broadband.  I am sure that such a service will appeal to many but to my seventy year old Mother, such a package offers little benefit or incentive.

    Best Regards,
    M Shahbaz Sheikh.

My cut and paste comment was in relation to a generic reply that in my opinion does not attempt to address my question.
Can you please include the link to that post.
But in reply then in that case the BT terms and conditions contradict each other.
And how do you distinguish between Unlimited Anytime and an Unlimited Anytime add-on?  Nowhere in any material for Unlimited Anytime can I find the clause that is in BT Texts.
    For instance http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumer/terms/special-offer.html
Unlimited Anytime Calls – Standard Deal 12 Month contract
Available to eligible new and existing residential customers signing up to Unlimited Anytime Calls with a 12 month minimum contract period. Please note, a minimum contract period of 12 months also applies to line rental for new customers, existing customers taking additional lines, home movers and those switching their phone line from another provider, signing up to this calling plan.
The price is £7.50 per month plus Standard Line Rental, which has a monthly cost of £16.99. The total price you pay is £24.49 per month. All of these prices apply if you pay by Direct Debit or monthly payment plan.
Provides inclusive calls of up to an hour to UK numbers at any time of the day. Calls in excess of an hour will be charged at 9.58 pence per minute at any time of the day. Includes 50% discount on call rates to UK mobiles (excludes roaming mobiles). Calls to mobiles and chargeable UK calls are subject to a 15.97p set-up fee. Includes 200 free texts (requires compatible handset).
If you decide to end your contract within the 12 month minimum contract period, you will incur a single charge of £11.50 for each month left of the minimum contract period. Excludes customers currently benefiting from some BT special offers or deals. Other Exclusions and conditions apply.

  • Strange download size of on calling packaged stored procedure in VB6

    Hi,
I tried to use VB6 to call oracle stored procedure with ref cursor as output parameter under a package in 10g database (10.1.03). Oracle client uses windows 9.2 / 10.1.02 (Oracle OLEDB Provider) . I found that when the package size increases(> 1000 lines codes), the data size transfer from database to VB client also increases. I try to trap the binary data flow between VB6 and database when calling packaged stored procedure. I found that VB6(or oracle client ??) will first download package spec then execute the requested stored procedure. This may explain the cause of increasing size.
However, this large download size for calling only one of the procedure will make my application run slowly when my application uses the package much. How can I solve this problem ? Does this relate to oracle client(p.s. this problem disappear when using Microsoft OLEDB Provider)?
    Thanks
    Steven

You can use a wrapper to get compiled code and if it's 10g you can do even more by putting it in a library.
OLEDB from VB6 still using Oracle 'Client' as you call Oracle NET.

  • Copy Sales Order from existing

    Hi Experts,
Can i copy a sales order from existing ones? I am not referring to create by reference. Just create the new sales order which has the same information as the existing.

I know you are not referring to 'Create by ref' but it seems thats the option you are looking.
If you hit 'Create with ref' on VA01 and goto 'Order' tab and specify the sales order number which you want to copy it will copy all the values from that order and create a new one for you.
And of course sales order number will be different.

  • Why cant i view my call package+ add ons ?

  • Regarding call packages?

    Hey,
If I took out the BT 40GB Broadband and Evening and Weekend Calls package for £18 a month + line rental, with a contract length of 18 months, am I unable to now upgrade to the Anytime Talk package? I tried and it said I need to call their (less than) helpful call centres.. (I am 3-4 months into the contract).
Sorry if this is the wrong forum!
    Thanks.

You should be able to, it'll cost you £4.90 extra for the unlimited anytime calling plan.
Have you tried it through your mybt online account?

  • How to modify the Procedure which exists in Package individually?

    Hi,
I need to modify the procedure which exists in package individually. I.e. I don't want to recompile the entire package.
This task to be done in SQL Plus not in TOAD. Because in TOAD, we can directly place the script and recompile using the option.
Do we have any syntax to modify the procedure which exists in package?
    [Like.....     create or replace schema.packagename.procudrename....etc...?]
Kindly reply if you are not clear on my query.
    Kindly help me on this.

Explain the reason why this would make any sense. Convenience. I wouldn't mind this option either.
    1) Currently, i am working on a PACKAGE which has
over 2k lines. In general, changes are made in a
single PROCEDURE only. I then copy the code (from
notepad) and paste it into SQL*Plus. This takes a few
seconds. If i could just ALTER the one PROCEDURE, it
would save time. (The little adds up to a lot during
    testing.)
    2) If two developers want to modify the two parts of
the same PACKAGE they would have to rename the
PACKAGE so one's changes do not overwrite the other.
Allowing to change the particular PROCEDURE inside
the PACKAGE would obviate this need.
    3) If PACKAGES are to be stored in a versioning
system, it might be convenient to store each
PROCEDURE separately, instead of storing the entire
    PACKAGE as one file.
It is certainly not required, but it would be a nice
convenience. That is why it would make sense.OK, then why did you chose to make packages? You do realize you can make stand alone procedures / functions outside of packages don't you?
I can see how 2 seconds of waiting for a package to compile could set your testing back by weeks (warning, being highly sarcastic).

I can't see the channel being made available to BTV Sky Sports subscribers, but will need to look closer.
