Ordering Prints - Photo Specifications

I want matte prints with white borders from the I-Photos I have requested. How do I indicate printing specifications?

Hi, Jamesinlondon, and welcome to Apple Discussions. If you don't find the options you prefer offered in the "Order prints" box in the version of iPhoto you're using, order prints from another service that offers custom printing options, instead of ordering from Kodak directly through iPhoto. The print services offered in iPhoto 4.0.3, the version I'm using, are strictly mass-market oriented; bordered matte printing isn't among them. Perhaps other options are offered in iPhoto 5 or 6, but if not, there are many photofinishing services out there — no doubt you can find one that will do what you want.

I have a Mac OSx 10.6.8 and iPhoto 7.1.5 and can no longer order printed photo albums unless I update to new version of iPhoto. But reviews of new iPhoto are so negative that I am uncomfortable about buying it. Will it be fine or should I steer clear of trouble and accept that i can no longer publish my photos?

    iPhoto '11 is working well.
The reviews usually only show the comments of people who do not like the changed features.
To get an idea what to expect, when you upgrade, look at the iPhoto '11 support sites.

how can I send multiple pictures to the Kodak link (under file & then order prints)?  if the photos are not sequential can it be done?

Does the order matter here?Because the photos will be sent for printing. If there is any other reason, can you please cite example.

  • Re iphoto: when I double click on a thumbnail i get e grey screen with exclamation mark..can't access my photos to edit, order prints etc

Was wondering if anyone can help...I am not very computer friendly but want to be able to edit my photos, use them as jpegs, order prints etc. When I double click on a thumbnail ( am presuming the thumbnails are the small photos ) I get a grey screen with an exclamation mark on it. I cannot drag the thumbnail onto the desk top it just pings back. This doesn't happen with all the thumbnails and has been a problem since we upgraded to snowleopard. I recently reinstalled photos from the memory card from my camera and they are alright. I am presuming that the old photos are stuck in there somewhere if only I knew the right buttons to press to get them out. Thanks, Jane Thomas

Easiest: Restore from your back up.
    Otherwise:
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download <a href="http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/"><b><u>iPhoto Library Manager</b></u></a> and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 6* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

  • How to hold several photos in the "order print" function of iPhoto?  I only get one at a time.

I cannot get more than one photo to appear in the "order prints" section of iPhoto at a time.  How do I move several photos over to order prints?

What is your iPhoto verstion? Assuming you are having the latest version on your new mac, it should work like this:
Select all photos at once in the event or album.
With the photos selected, use the command "File > Order Prints" from the main menu bar.
What happens, when you try that?

  • How can i order prints of more than one photo at a time?

Hi I am trying to order prints of more than one photo at a time but can only select one photo - if I press command it just jumps to the next photo, not allowing me to select multiple photos.
    Thanks

Easiest way is to make an album of the photos you want to order, crop them to the print size, select all and order

  • I had ordered a photo book print two years back. I want to reorder the same book again now. However, I have lost the album project in iphoto. Is there any way to see my print order history and reorder the same book for print ?

Is there any way to see my print order history and reorder the same book for print ?

No.  Apple only keeps the pdf file for a book for 30 days.  Without the library and book project you won't be able to reorder the same book.
Even though the horse is out of the barn the following tutorial might be of help for future books, i.e. create a new library for each book): iP08 - Archiving an iPhoto Book for Editing and/or Ordering at a Later Date

  • I have tried to order a photo book.  Both times it uploaded images etc and then after payment details a message pops up saying this album couldn't be processed. Please try again. Has anyone else experienced this? Can the photo books be printed in store?

    Your screenshot is not visible.
Anyhow, try a different browser. What were you using?
Firefox is known to work well with the download manager when other browers fail.

  • How do I order prints from more than one Photo in Aperture?

I can figure out how to order prints through Apple for ONE photo but can't find how to add more photos to the order.  Is there a manul for Aperture 3.4.5 version? This whole program has me confused.  I need a manual I think.  Thank you.

Have a look under the Help menu there's a link to the manual there.
But the easist way: make an album with the pics, then select all and order those.

  • Ordering prints of photos that were downloaded from the internet

Hey I'm new here and I wanted to order prints of a bunch of photos in my iphoto library that were not taken with my camera. I saved pictures and screenshots of different bands that I got online to my library and wanted to print them out so I could put them in my room. So will these pictures come out okay? Any advice? Like what size print I should order or just anything else you might find helpful.

That all depends on the pixel dimensions of the pictures you downloaded and he size of prints you want - Apple will give you a warning if you are likely to have a quality problem - your choice then is to order a smaller print or have poorer quality for your print - the larger the pixel size of the original digital photo to the better
The minimum size for prints with no warnings is 150 dpi
    4 x 3 prints - 600 x 450 pixels
    4 x 6 prints - 600 x 900 pixels
    5 x 7 prints - 750 x 1050 pixels

  • I would like to order prints under I Photo, but it seems to let you only do one photo at a time through the store.  I did make a folder of photos I want to purchse.  How do I do a bulk purchase of photos?

I would like to order a bunch of prints under IPhoto, but when you go to share and it says order prints, it only allows me to order one at a time.  I have created a folder of pics that I would like to purchase.  How do I do a bulk purchase?

Very simple - select the photo(s) you want to print (sometimes it helps to make an album for them to collect them in one place), crop to the print size, select all and share ==> order prints - all of those photos will be in one order

  • Ordering prints from Photos in iOS??

I no longer see an option to Order Prints of photos on my iPhone as one of the share options.  Is Apple no longer offering this service?

It seems that when you edit a photo using iPhoto for iOS it does not save the GPS data back to the file. So, it automaticaly removes the GPS data. I bet this is not the intended behavior. You can verify this by editing a photo with iPhoto for iOS, save the photo to the camera roll, then use another app to take a look at the gps exif data and you will see that it is gone.

  • How do I order prints from Apple via my iPad photos?

I am 88 years old and want to order prints from Apple from my photos on my iPad. how do I do this?

One way would be to acquire the iPhoto app for your iPad from the App Store.  You could even create photo books using that app!

  • I-photo 'order prints' limits the order to 300 photos and I have more.

Finally ready with creating a nice XL photo book with 100 pages and .. Oops, when I want to order prints of the book I cannot proceed. "The maximum of 300 photos is exceeded". Unfortunately there was no earlier warning about this limit. I prefer to have all 520 photos in one photo-book. Does anybody know a workaround ?

Contact Apple support - I was not aware of such a limit and have not seen it posted here before and I do not find any reference to that in a google search
What is the exact error message?
Can you preview the book -
Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.
