Ordering Problem - Prints & Books

I am unable to order books or prints in iPhoto 5.0.4.
When I click the "Order Prints" button, nothing happens at all. When I click "Buy Book," the book is assembled, but then nothing else.
In each case, iPhoto simply returns to the state it was in before I clicked. No ordering info comes up, no crash, no error message.
My internet connection is broadband and works fine. My account info is up to date. My Library is 4.6 GB.
Any ideas about what the problem could be? On my end or at Apple?
Thanks.

try quitting iPhoto and deleting the iPhoto preference file - "your username" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist - when you launch iPhoto a new fresh default preference file will be created - reset any personal preferences you have changed and try
Also before you order it is a good idea to preview the book as a PDF and save that for reference if there are any problems

  • Anyone else also still having problems to order a printed book with pictures from iPhoto? Can you help?

When I try to order a printed book, I can not get any further than to "check out". Then I get "oops the store is temporarily unavailable". It has been like this for the past two days.
Everything else works on the Macbook Air. Mail, iTunes, surfing etc

Also what print product store are you trying to order from?  Give this fix posted by another user a try:
    Quit iPhoto.
From the Finder menu bar, choose Go > Utilities to access your Utilities folder (or press Shift-Command-U).
In your Utilities folder, open Keychain Access.
Find the "NetServices" entry in your Keychain Access window.
Select the "NetServices" entry and press the delete key.
Reopen iPhoto and attempt to place your order again.
You should be prompted to enter your account information if you deleted the Keychain entry successfully.
After entering your account information, you should be able to complete your order.

  • Uploading failed when trying to order a printed book

I have been trying to order/print a book thru iPhoto.  Everything works fine until the uploading process-- then I get an error message saying that an asset failed to upload and to retry.  I have tried changing security settings as well as addressing the iPhoto plist as was suggested in this site.  Any thoughts?

    does it preview correctly -
Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.
and providing details helps - what version of iPhoto? Is OS X 10.9.5 as you state correct? have you tries uploading in Safe Mode - OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode? - Apple Support - what is the exact error message?

  • Problem Printing Book in CS4

I created a book in CS4, which prints fine. However, if I add another document to the book, when I try to print, it goes through allof the machinations and then crashes, closing InDesign with a "serious error" just before it goes to the printer.

Is it any other document, or a specific document?
If it's a specific document then you should export that document to .inx by itself. Then open that file, resave it and try to add it again to the book.
If it's any document. Then create a new book file, add all the documents to it again and try to print it and see if that helps.
I have a feeling either the document you're adding is corrupt; or the book file is corrupt.

  • Iphoto Book ordering problems

After 3 weeks of constant attempts I feel I need to see if anyone out there has a thought on why I receive a return email from my book order "Problems with your order - you have not been charged etc etc"
I have done everything possible from deleting photos, trying EVERY theme, deleting maps, background photos. I have corresponded by email with the Apple help, and I have spent about an hour at the Genius Bar at Apple to see if anyone can solve my problem. Everyone has comeback with "we don't know"
I work with a MacBook Pro Mac OS X 10.6.4, have plenty of memory, all software is up to date.
I am just about to reinitialise my hard disk, install iLife 11 and make the book again, as I can see no other way to try to get this book ordered. Hopefully, oh every so hopefully this will solve my problem.
    Any guru help?

Since yesterday there have been many reports from all over the world of people unable to buy a book or any print products from Apple.
Apple has to fix this on the servers.
See for example this link:  Re: Trying to buy book I created. When I hit "checkout" nothing happens. It's not like Apple to not want to make more m…

  • Ordering a printed photo book

I am trying to order a printed photo book but when I type in my details my telephone number is rejected as invalid. I have ordered books previously with no problem. Any suggestions?

By trial and error I have solved the problem. The "primary number" field is expecting seven digits but my number is only six digits. I tried putting a leading zero before my number and it was accepted. The leading zero was subsequently dropped automatically. I presume you can also put in a zero at the end but I didn't try that.

  • I had ordered a photo book print two years back. I want to reorder the same book again now. However, I have lost the album project in iphoto. Is there any way to see my print order history and reorder the same book for print ?

No.  Apple only keeps the pdf file for a book for 30 days.  Without the library and book project you won't be able to reorder the same book.
Even though the horse is out of the barn the following tutorial might be of help for future books, i.e. create a new library for each book): iP08 - Archiving an iPhoto Book for Editing and/or Ordering at a Later Date

Anyhow, try a different browser. What were you using?
Firefox is known to work well with the download manager when other browers fail.

  • Problem printing production order.

    Hi  guys
this is my first post. i have a problem  printing production orders.when i give a print. its printing only 2 or  3 line.what should i do to add  some more information to my production order.and where can i view the print preview of my production order.

    Hi,
The production order can be printed in CO02 screen itself.(Ctrl+P). To define what to be printed, you need to identify/define the correct list in the transaction OPK8. Once the correct combination is selected for the required plant and order type, this can be printed in production order.
But for the preview after printing, you can view the spools created in SP01.
Or T code CO04N or CO04 is meant for printing production orders
Need to do the setting in OPK8
First check the configutaion link below and then come back.

  • I ordered a photobook, when I went to purchase it flashed up a warning about default text saying 'printed books will not include this text'. Really dissapointed, my photo book arrived with the default text printed. Will I have to return it?

I ordered a photobook, when I went to purchase it flashed up a warning about default text saying 'printed books will not include this text'.
Was really dissapointed when my photo book arrived with the default text printed. Will I have to return it? Or can I get some sort of discount? I don't live near a post office so I'd rather not have to return it.

Contact Apple support - they can answer that type of questions - we are just users here like yourself
BTW - it is best not to order when you have errors - to resolve that error place a single space in the subject text box
    and always
Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.

  • Cannot order iphoto print product

While I almost finished placing an order of a book created by iphoto 11 on my Mackbook Air,  I remembered that I needed to change a page.  Hence, at the last step of ordering,  I hit the "Cancel" button to return to iPhoto for the editing.  After I got done the editing,  I was unable to order the book nor any print products.  The message has been  " An error occurred while contacting the Apple Online Store. Please try again."   All my preference settings are correct and proper.     I  checked my two other  regular Macbooks which share the same router, both have no problem at all to order  print products.   It appears that the Apple Online Store connection is blocked only to the one computer I used to almost finished placing the order.   I have created 3 100 page iphoto books and ready for print.   They cannot be exported, as I understand.  Restarting my MacBook Air and the modem and changing date/time (as some suggested)  did not help at all.   Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Exact same problem here...

  • ORDER A PRINT ONLINE OF A SQUARE PHOTO IN IPHOTO

How can I order a print of square photos in IPHOTO without them cropping it out as it happened, instead of scaling it down to fit the paper and leave a white border as I assumed they would do??
    MACCBOOK   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Ricardo:
You can't. iPhoto doesn't offer a square format. All prints are borderless. If you want a square print you'll need to use one of the other online providers.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Why order photo prints in iPhoto?

I love iPhoto, and i really enjoy making books using it as well. I want to start ordering just normal 4x6 prints to keep as archived photos. But my problem is the pricing. Is there any justification to ordering 4x6 prints using iPhoto over ordering them from Walgreens?
Sure it's .12 a print with iPhoto, and it's .20 a print with Walgreens, but Apple charges 3.99 for shipping, and then .25 for tax.
Can someone explain to me why I'd pay this much for prints? The only time I guess I'd save money is if I had an order with over 70 prints; that way the charge for shipping and tax would be made up by the cheaper prints.
Does anyone else see the problem here? Or does anyone on here actually order prints from iPhoto? What are your experiences like? Pros and Cons from just uploading to Walgreens and picking them up? Is there a big difference in print quality?
Just curious. I love Apple products and I love using them, but this option just seems like it's not worth it to anyone

Don't use it. It is just convenience.
If you are really printing pictures for archiving, you might get to 70 pictures in a hurry!
You could also create a "photos to print" album and wait until you get a hundred or so to print.
But really, Apple will not send you an email with a sad-faced kitten asking "bradhotdog, why didn't you order your prints from us? Now we has sad."

  • Have tried to order a photo book from iPhoto.

It goes through assembly (apparently fine) and then uploads (again apparently fine) and at the very end it says it has failed to properly upload.  Tried 4 times.  How can I resolve this, please?

What size is the book you're ordering, XL? Try previewing the book as described in this Apple document: iPhoto '11: Preview a book, card, or calendar before you order or print it.   If you can't then you're experiencing a know problem.
There is a workaround to the problem. Boot into  Safe Mode and order the book.  Before ordering create a pdf of the book to proof for any errors or problems and to compare with the printed book you receive.
