Ordering songs on my list

I wrote a list of songs I want to play IN ORDER on a new list I'm creating. The songs are imported from a shared file of previously downloaded mp3 129kbps songs. I select my first choice, drag it to my list, and naturally it becomes song #1 on my new list. Number 2 drags over and becomes #2 on my list. Then my 3rd song drags over and becomes the new #1 song, pushing the others down. The my #4 dragged song becomes the new #2, pushing the others down further. What is going on? I want these songs to be in a specific order, and the software puts them whereever it pleases and screws it all up. I deleted the out of order songs from my list, then checked every possible option in iTunes, but I still can't get them to go in the order I want. What's wrong here?

Creat a blank playlist you want, on the side where the numbers appear hit that header. NOW drag the songs over and they should add the way you want them

  • When I buy a pre order song how do I get it to play with the rest of the CD?

When I buy a pre-order song from i tunes, and then purchase the CD the song was from it will not play with the rest of the CD.
Example: Tori Amos's new CD Unrepentant Geraldines
I purchased the single Trouble's Lament when it was released, before the CD.
I just purchased the CD and the song should be #2 on the CD, but its not there, it is listed separately, and will not play with the CD.
Also, other issue... Free U2 CD, it says its in my Library when I clicked on the CD add in the store. It's nowhere to be found in my library!! I really would love to listen to it since I have several of there CD's and am a big fan
If anyone can help with either of these issues , I would greatly appreciate it.

For the single, if you select the track in your library and do 'get-info' (control-I) on it and select its Summary tab on the popup are its details (e.g. album name and artist) the same as for the other tracks on the album ?
For the U2 album you should be able to download it into your library by ticking the 'show iTunes in the Cloud purchases' tick box on the Store tab in iTunes > Preferences - it should then show in the Music part of your library with a cloud icon against it for downloading (downloading the booklet for it this way may not work, you may get a 'corrupt file' message when trying to open it, though that might have been fixed by now).
Or go to the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage and you should be able to download it from there.
A third option is to sign out of your account (Store > Sign Out menu option), find the album in the store and then click on its free 'price' button - you should then be prompted to sign back in and the album should download.

  • Can't add to or rearrange songs in play lists

Suddenly, iTunes decided not to work like it usually does. I can no longer drag songs into play lists and can't rearrange songs already in lists. Shuffle is not on, repeat is not on. I have the songs arranged by the order I originally added them, not artist or album, so I can't figure out what the problem is. I haven't downloaded anything new or done something different... it just stopped working right.

I have the same problem, but just with one set of songs. I had to reformat my computer a while back and after I reloaded and updated ITunes, none of the songs by one group would add to ITunes. I tried everything, but they won't add. They were working fine before I reformatted. There's about 79 songs, too. Everything else added fine so it doesn't make any sense to me. I have them saved on a DVD, but you can import into ITunes from a DVD. Is there a previous version of ITunes that's better than this newest one that I could try? Or if somneone has ANY suggestions. I'm beyond frustrated. I wish I could use Winamp with my IPod.

  • BUG: Play in order (songs and podcasts)

I manually load my shuffle with podcasts and music. I set the play order while the shuffle is still connected to my Powerbook: I want my songs to be first, then the podcasts. Everything seems okay when I eject the shuffle.
I reset the playlist (three quick clicks) expecting the first song in my playlist to begin playing. Instead the first podcast actually plays! Podcasts always play first in spite of my manual re-order of the playlist.
Also, while I can re-order songs in my playlist, I cannot re-order podcasts. In other words, songs, which I can manually re-order, do not play until after the last podcast plays. I cannot change the play order of the podcasts!
The reason I call this a bug is because iTunes allows me to manually drag selections around to re-order a playlist but, it does not actually transfer my changes to the shuffle.
Am I missing something or, is this the way it's supposed to work?

Podcasts play in something like the order they were downloaded. None of the sort columns will replicate that order, but it's in there, and there's no way to put podcasts into an iPod shuffle and have them play in any other order. Most frustrating.
What's needed is a quick and simple way to prevent iTunes and/or the iPod from recognizing podcasts, and treat them instead like any other mp3. I tried some simple things like changing the genre label from "Podcast" to something else, and moving the file out of the "Podcasts" folder in iTunes Music, but neither did the trick. I unchecked the two options "skip when shuffling" and "remember place" in the podcast's Get Info Options tab, but that didn't work. The file is identified as a regular mp3 file with the standard .mp3 filename extension, so it's not a case of needing to convert it from some exotic .mp? variant.
So it seems that whatever tags the file as a "podcast" is not accessible to the user in iTunes at least, unless someone can please prove me wrong. I haven't tried altering the Type/Creator codes for the podcast files in Finder -- anybody else tried that?
One thing finally worked, but it's somewhat cumbersome. I used the excellent shareware application MP3Trimmer to "repair" the podcast mp3 file. What this does whether the file is actually "broken" or not is strip out all non-audio information and yield a pure, clean raw mp3 file with all other tags and info removed. I put this file into iTunes, and voila! It's no longer recognized as a podcast file, and can be sorted into playlists on the iPod just like any other normal mp3 file.
Unfortunately, MP3Trimmer does not yet have a batch mode, which would be a huge help since the "cleaning" takes a while. But the MP3Trimmer developer, very friendly and helpful fellow, says that batch capability is at the top of his priority list and the next major update will have it. He updates the program pretty regularly, so I would guess that this should happen within the next few months -- maybe tomorrow for all I know!
If anyone knows of any other mp3-editing software that can similarly strip an mp3 file down to pure audio, I'm sure it would serve just as well, and if it already has batch capability -- well, please let me know!
Note that the MP3Trimmer solution has the advantage of not degrading the audio in any way. One could for example convert the podcast mp3 to a WAVE file and then back to an mp3 and most likely this would also succeed in removing any podcast identification from the file, but you'd suffer another audio fidelity loss in that additional conversion to mp3, and that's no good, is it?

  • My ipod shuffle only plays the first songs on the list.

My ipod shuffle only plays the first songs on the list even though it has several more podcasts in it. it only plays a series of podcasts instead of all of them. My older shuffle never had this problem. How can I solve this?

Your older shuffle, if 1st or 2nd gen, did not have the ability to play from multiple playlist.  It was essentially just ONE playlist that you loaded manually using iTunes.  A very simple device.  With the new shuffle, it works more like the "bigger" iPods and you can load more than one playlist (so it is more complex), but if you select a specific playlist (using VoiceOver), it works like the old shuffle.
My ipod shuffle only plays the first songs on the list even though it has several more podcasts in it.
That is probably because you are playing songs from the All Songs list, instead of choosing a specific playlist using VoiceOver.  Podcasts do not play from the All Songs list.
it only plays a series of podcasts instead of all of them.
If you use VoiceOver to select a podcast, it only plays episodes from that particular podcast.
Here's what you can do, to make it work like your old shuffle.  Create a new regular playlist in iTunes, and name it something like "iPod Podcasts" or whatever you want.  Treat that new playlist like your old shuffle.  Manually add the podcast episodes you want on the shuffle, in the order you want to hear them, on that playlist.  NOTE:  You can adjust the playlist order after adding the podcast episodes.
Select the shuffle in iTunes.  You see a row of "tabs" (buttons) starting with Summary.  Click Podcasts there.  This is the Podcasts tab, where you set up how iTunes syncs podcasts.  Check the box for Sync Podcasts.  Below that, since you have a playlist with the podcasts you want on the shuffle, you only need to go to the list under Include Episodes from Playlists and checkmark that iPod Podcasts playlist.
When you click Apply, the episodes on that playlist sync to the shuffle.  Going forward, to update the podcasts on the shuffle, update that iPod Podcasts playlist (add and remove episodes) in iTunes.  Then, the next time you connect the shuffle, iTunes automatically updates the shuffle with the same changes.  If the shuffle is already connected, click the Sync button to update.
When using the shuffle, set the shuffle's power switch to the play-in-order (middle) position.  Podcasts are skipped on playlists, if the power switch is set to shuffle.  Use VoiceOver to switch to that iPod Podcasts playlist.  The podcast episodes should play in playlist order.
NOTE:  You can load songs in the same way.  Create an "iPod Songs" playlist in iTunes, with the songs you want on the shuffle.  Go to the shuffle's Music tab, and select that playlist.  And audiobooks on the Books tab.  You can load as many playlists as you want.  The big advantage of the new shuffle is that you can have different types of content and keep them organized on separate playlists.
Here's information about VoiceOver, in case it is not already set up.

I would like to know, on the ringtone page, where you can select songs out of your music library, is there a way to remove a song from the list after its selected? I would thin there would be a way to "delete" the songs from the list. (Clock app)
    Let me explain:
In the clock app for ios 6.0.2 I am a little confused. It allows you to go into your music library, and create a ringtone using any songs you choose. However, I cannot find a way to remove a song from this list, just like I cannot delete one of the preset ringtones (which I'm not trying to do, but just as an example)
Thanks for your time! If you need more information just ask.
(I believe both my iPod and iTunes are up to date)

I believe you just are able to delete them from iTunes.
    Hope it will be helpful

I just downloaded a song and it only plays the first 50 seconds and then moves to the next song in the list. How can I get it to play the rest of the song?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

i am trying to purchase many songs at one time. i have added all songs to wish list , now to purchase it will only let me  do one at a time  please advise how i can purchase more than one at a time

There used to be a 'buy all' button on the wish list screen but for some reason that has been removed from the current version of iTunes so you will need to buy each item individually. You can try leaving feedback for Apple and maybe it'll be added back in a future update : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

  • How to close the Return Order from Billing due list

    Dear Gurus,
This is the scenario of Free subsequent delivery with the reference of Return Delivery.
    In brief-->
I created one sales order and done its normal delivery and billing. So this order to cash cycle is completed.
Then due to the damage in transit of some material customer wants to return some good and ask for the subsequent delivery of same goods.
therefore I create a return sales order with the reference of previous sales order and and do the return delivery. Here I am not making the credit note as I have to make the subsequent delivery for the return order.
So I create the sales order for subsequent delivery with the reference of Return order and do the delivery.
Now I have the query that when I run the billing due list (VF04) I get the same return order in billing due list as I have not created the credit memo with its reference. And the return order will remain there always. But I dont want that return order to appear in the billing due list as I have done the subsequent delivery for that return order.
Please tell me how the return order's status can be made completed to avoid it in billing due list.
Please suggest me all the possible solutions to complete the scenario.
    regards,
    Sanjay

    Hi,
The SDF has to be created with refernce to the Sales Order only.
    In Brief:-
When ever the goods are damaged in transit, generally we ask them to scrap the damaged goods and then decide what to do like
    1) Either to give a credit note to the customer for the damaged goods.
                          or
    2)Replace the Goods by SDF.
    Check me if iam wrong
    Regards

My MacBook Pro 10.6.8 prompted me of a new itunes update this morning, so i downloaded it. Since then itunes has been starting up randomly on its own, and starts playing the first song on the list. I pause the song, and it resumes it on its own again. I'm not joking. So, I end up quiting out of itunes; but, it starts right back up again on its own. After quiting out of the app a few times, it eventually stops reopening; however, about an hour later (or less) it opens again. HOW DO I MAKE IT STOP? I'm just about to delete itunes, because I've had enough of this crap. I hope someone can help. I've restarted the laptop, and it seemed like that fixed it, then itunes started up doing the same thing again an hour later. ituneshelper is unchecked; bluetooth is off; i only have speakers and a mouse plugged in (also charger).

Read this Apple Discussion Thread and possible solutions. The audio jack has been the main culprit, also certain sync and automation settings including connected remotes.

I need to edit out parts of a song to cut it down to two minutes for my daughter's talent show. I went to info/start time and it will cut down one part but only one part. I need to put three parts together. I tried adding duplicates of the song to the list but if If I change the start time on one it will change it on all of them.

In your library, right-click the song you want to edit.
    select "get info".
go to "options" and select the start and stop times for your first section of the song.
    click "OK".
Find the shortened version of the song in your library. It may take a minute for it to show up. right click it again and select "create (????) version". (the ???? is different for different formats).
The library will spit out a new, second version of the song which you can rename. I suggest you use the original title and add a 1 to the end.
Now you can go back to the other version and repeat the process with a different  start/stop time.
Once you are done editing, you can burn all of your versions to a disk, just make sure your interval time is zero so there are no gaps between edits.
To keep the orginal song on your library, just go back to the original and put the start/stop times back to the original settings.

  • Changing order shown in structure list

My clients want to change the order of the structure list.   Currently when you open a Functional Location it shows the items in the Functional Location BOM first, THEN it shows any equipment installed at that Location.
My clients would like the Equipment to show before the materials in the BOM.  Is it possible to change the order like this?

    Maheee,
The order you state is not the order we see it in.  We see

    We would like to see:

It would depend on your definition of "Fix"
Your iPod touch running OS 4.2 has a ZOOM feature which will enable you to see the screen more clearly.
To turn Zoom on or off got to:
Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom and tap the Zoom On/Off switch.
    _To Zoom in or out_:
Double-tap the screen with three fingers. By default, the screen is magnified 200 percent. If you manually change the magnification (by using the tap-and-drag gesture, described below), iPod touch automatically returns to that magnification when you zoom in by double-tapping with three fingers.
Increase magnification: With three fingers, tap and drag toward the top of the screen (to increase magnification) or toward the bottom of the screen (to decrease magnification). The tap-and-drag gesture is similar to a double-tap, except you don’t lift your fingers on the second tap—instead, drag your fingers on the screen. Once you start dragging, you can drag with a single finger.
    _Move around the screen_:
When zoomed in, drag or flick the screen with three fingers. Once you start dragging, you can drag with a single finger so that you can see more of the screen. Hold a single finger near the edge of the display to pan to that side of the screen image. Move your finger closer to the edge to pan more quickly. When you open a new screen, Zoom always goes to the top-middle of the screen.
    _Large Text_:
Large Text lets you make the text larger in alerts, and in Calendar, Contacts, Mail, Messages, and Notes. You can choose 20-point, 24-point, 32-point, 40-point, 48-point, or 56-point text.
Set the text size: In Settings, choose General > Accessibility, tap Large Text, then tap the text size you want.
I hope this has helped a little - other than this option I think it pretty much is what it is.
BTW - This information can be found on page 208 of the iPod Touch iOS 4.2 Users Guide.
    Best wishes..
    Ricky
