Org chart link in Who's who

Hi,
Can anyone tell me where the config for the Org Chart service that is kicked of from who's who (ie when you've found someone you can then click the Org Chart link)
I can't find the service in the Homepage framework.  And I can't find a link with the Who's who.
Thanks
J

The config (what little there is) is under the ESS ITS specific services settings....go to "Office"....there is all the "Who's Who" config....toward the end is "Determine Functions"...that has a "check box" for "Allow access to Organizationl Environment"....it does little more than making the "org chart" button visible/active in the Who's Who service. There is no other specific Org Chart config in ESS. In fact, the standard SAP Org Chart service is pretty bad, so I have always replaced it with a custom version (since just about everyone customizes the Who's Who service also). Hope this helps.

  • Org Chart link not coming for the user

    Hi
I am trying to configure the Org Chart by Nakisa. The connection to SAP has been established using Single Sign-on. I am able to log-on successfully as a user. But I only get the 'Preferences' link under Quick Start but not the 'Org Chart'. Any idea what could be the problem?

    Hi Luke
I will look in the authorization issue. Is the authorization object S_RFC enough or do we need anything else?
I am using "http://XXXorgchart1/OrgChart/default.aspx" as the link for logging in, where XXX is the company name. Is that what you meant by server name? I am not a technical person, so my understanding may not be correct.

  • Oraganizational Unit link in ESS Who's who

    Hello,
We deployed standard ESS Business Package on Portal ...when I goto Employee Search -> Who's Who I specify a Last name and select the employee...after  that i see an organizational Unit link ...but when I click on it ...I get the message as: " Page not found or not available"...
Any help would be highly appreciated.

    this is how we did
there is a property for Who is Who iview which is Application Parameter which we set that calls the org chart link by taking employee pernr as parameter
    iview:
    Application Parameter : orgcharturl="http://host:port/orgchart.asp";
in webdynpro application you need to get the application parameter and pass the pernr as a parameter.
    String url = WDProtocolAdapter.getProtocolAdapter().getRequestObject().getParameter("orgcharturl")"?id="pernr;.
open external window and pass this url
so when we click on that link it will call the orgchart of that employee

  • ESS Who's Who - remove link from Org Unit

In Who's Who (web dynpro version for ERP2004), I want to display Organizational Unit in an employee's detail.  I do NOT however want the link to the org chart from this field to be available.
Is there a way to remove the link from the Organizational Unit field?
If not, then my issue is that the link does not work. I get the error "Service EMPLOYEE_ORGCHART_SERVICE does not exist" when I click on a link to the org chart from who's who.  Can someone point towards some documentation on how to implement this?
Bottom line is that I either want to remove the link on Org Unit or make it work.
Has anyone had success with this?
    Thank you!
    Jeff Karls

    Hi,
Please check the following in your customizing.
    1.table V_T7XSSSERRES
    Resource Key EMPLOYEE_ORGCHART_SERVICE
    Directory Path sap.com/ess~org
    Object Name Orgchart
    Window Name Orgchart
    2.table V_T7XSSSERSRV
    Service Key EMPLOYEE_ORGCHART_SERVICE
    Service Link Text Orgchart
    Service Type Webdynpro Application
    Link Resource EMPLOYEE_ORGCHART_SERVICE
    3.
Please maintain the URL of PCD page as
    ROLES://portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.ess.employee
    /com.sap.pct.ess.roles/com.sap.pct.ess.employee_self_service/
    com.sap.pct.ess.employee_self_service/
    com.sap.pct.ess.area_employee_search/
    com.sap.pct.ess.serv_employee_search
in the table V_T7XSSSERRES for the key EMPLOYEE_ORGCHART_SERVICE and trythe application again.
As for removing the link, that will require a modification to the Who's Who web dynpro.

  • Error when accessing the "Org unit" link from iview "Who's who"

    Hi all,
In our ESS/MSS implementation we have come across to a strange error:
In the master iview u201CWhou2019s whou201D when trying to access the link for the org unit we receive the following error:
    Service EMPLOYEE_ORGCHART_SERVICE does not exist.
Indeed the respective service does not exists nor the resources. We have ECC 5.0 and EP 7.0. We were unable so far to find the right (or dedicated)  resources/services for this.
    Any helps are much appreciated.

  • ESS Who's Who (ECC6, WD) - Error with telephone direct dial link

    Hi there -
We are on ECC6, NW 2004s (SP14).  I have the following field in our Who's Who 'Output field detail' -
SYHR_A_P0105_AF_TEL_NR - Area code + local access code
Also in config, I have the checkbox DESELECTED for 'Allow direct telephone dialing.'
    Issue with Who's Who service:
The telephone number is displayed as a hyperlink.  When I click the link, I get the following message: 'Search resulted more than 1500 records, Only first 1500 records is displayed.'
Then if I click the link again, I get a dump: 500 Internal Error,
    com.sap.tc.webdynpro.modelimpl.dynamicrfc.WDDynamicRFCExecuteException: Specify a server name , error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
Does anyone know how to get rid of the link - direct dialing is not a requirement for my client.  Also - the first error message makes no sense.  Any help would be greatly appreciated - I am stumped.

    Karen

  • ESS Who's Who removing Change Own Data Link

    Hi,
Set-up ESS who's who with no issue on EP7 with ECC6.  However I wish to remove the "Change Own Data" link from the page.
I have reviewed the IMG but cannot find where to change the details.  Also I cannot find Personnel Management >> Employee Self Service, so I'm unsure if we have loaded up our business package correctly.  Thanks

    HI Brian,
    Do the following steps:
    TCode: spro
      SAP Reference Img
        --Cross Application Components
          --Home page Framework
            --Services
              --Assign serives to subAreas
--Execute - Choose (find entries)  and mark the "EMPLOYEE_SEARCH_CHANGEOWNDATA" field Position as ‘0’ (zero).
Log off and login portal and see the effect taken place.
Hope you can do it easily now..
If your problem gets solved, close the thread and confirm the same

  • How to get the opportunities linked to a  BP who is logged in?

    Hi,
How to get the opportunities linked to a BP who is logged in mean the user who is logged in?
    Regards,
    Jaya

    Hi,
I understand the question as follows:
You want to get a list of opportunities that are assigned to the logged in user.
You can get the USER -> BP assignment from table HRP1001.
Then use the standard opportunity search to get the Opportunities.
    cheers Carsten

  • Link to Who-is-who from XML Form item

How can I make a link from a user name to the user details of the who is who from a XML Form item? I see this functionality automatically in KM collection renderers but in the XML Form Builder I only see the option to link to the e-mail (Display name as E-mail link).
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Eric

    Eric,
adding a link to user details in a XMLForm item is not possible at the moment.
But this a reasonable request and maybe we can add this feature in one of the next SPs or release.

  • Org Chart Search issue in Employee Listing in VSN30SP2

    Hi,
Everything works fine in Org Chart in Nakisa OrgChart VSN30SP2.
But unfortunately when we searched an employee in employee listing we found it was not showing up.We used the search criteria Person Name Contains xxxxx.
In Search criteria when we entered say James it showed up all the employee who has the first name as James except one employee (The missing employee also has the first name as James).
Also without search criteria (unchecked on Start Directory Empty in Org Chart Employee Listing configuration) it is not showing only that employee. Also authorization is fine for that employee.
Can you please help on this issue.
    Regards,
    Xavier.

    Hi Xavier,
I had a similar problem in the OOTB build (0702019400SCA). Nakisa resolved the issue with a new build so if you are using this build I recommend that you go to this link and deploy the latest build: [3.0 SP2 - SAPmats links for latest builds;.
Let us know if this resolves the issue.
