Org Publisher

Hi,
I am trying to configure Org Publisher output types. I have configured custom output types with additional fields and filters.
The problem is when i run the report /EHR/SOL71_ORGPUB with selection root orgunit, It picks up only the data related to Orgunit.
I am not able to see the employee number, name in the output.
Please help me with this issue.
Thanks
Jay

Hi Peter,
Thanks for your response. We have a licensed software. They have manually extracted the data and feeding into Orgpub and publishing it in their local intranet site.
The requirement is to automate the whole process and publish the chart in ESS&MSS. I know the procedure for automation. I am struck with one issue.
I have made a copy of the output type /EHR/MAX and  extracted the file by using the report /EHR/SOL71_ORGPUB. But when I open file using OrgPublisher, it doesnt show in a tree format. it just dumps all the employees in one single box.
But if I extract using  /EHR/MAX, it is displaying in tree format. What could be the problem??
Thanks
Jay

  • Nakisa vs. Org Publisher Premiere

    Any input on using Nakisa or Org Publisher for org charting?  We are researching both applications and I would be interested to hear about any experiences (good and bad) using both tools. We will be using it mainly for org charting and basic master data visualizations at first, with the potential to integrate talent management/succession planning in the future.
    Many thanks in advance!

    I have used OrgPublisher for more than 3 years. The purpose of using OrgPublisher was to retrieve Personnel and Organisation Data from SAP automatically and publish it in the web for whole company (more than 6000 employees)
    I am sure you are already aware of how strong Org Publisher is on displaying Organisation data already and how flexible and easy to use it even for a shop floor personnel. I like to talk about more on the points that we sometimes forget to think about when analysing new software.
    1) OrgPublisher for SAP Solutions (Some call it SAP Connector)
    OrgPublisher for SAP Solutions comes as a package with ready output formats, wizards to use. It is very friendly and you can easily customise new Output Formats to download any information from any Infotype of PA & OM. There are ready user-exits enable you to perform certain specific actions. Most importantly you do not need any consultant for you to do this. Any IT Analyst with basic PA&OM knowledge can easily start using this solution by just reading user manuals and that's what I did. I have never attended to any training and I am able to develop sophisticated formats in a day.
    Wizards are very practical and allows you to develop simple formats without any training at all.
    You rarely need support of OrgPublisher from Aquire due to its simplicity and bug free solution but when you need the support, it is very quick and resolves issues.
    2) Enhanced Plugin for Web users
    You can publish OrgCharts like any ordinary web page easily. There's also plug-in version (Free of charge) which enable end users to search by name or any field (For example by age, gender, employee status, employee group etc...), it is like a mini reporting tool. You can download your results or whole data to excel with one click. You can also define groups and display statistical information about the organisation.
    3) Planning
    This is a great functionality of Plugin that provides planning your organisation data in the web and save it to your local. You can add new positions, remove positions, rename them for planning purposes in your Internet Explorer. It is again very friendly.
    I do not know the other tool but it might be good to check if the other tool has these functionalities and flexibility. It is especially important to have flexibility on the SAP side.

  • Org Publisher with EP?

    Hi,
    Anyone implemented Org Publisher with EP7?
    Can you provide the steps to automate and refresh the Orgcharts published on the portal?
    Thanks
    Jay

    There are iview properties which you can set to set the refresh or cache limit of an iview.

  • Where to configure Org Publisher in IMG?

    Hi All,
    I need to know the basics of org publisher, what is it? how is it used and most important thing how and where to configure org publisher in IMG?If anybody has any material and links please pass it on.Any kind of help is appreciated. Thankyou.

    Hi,
    OrgPublisher integrates easily with SAP.  When you install the SAP version, transports are provided that you can install in your SAP server (4.7, 5.0, 6.0 and 7.0).  A fully functional trial is available for download and good for 30 days 10,000 objects. A getting started guide, an installation guide and functional guide come with the installation. Once the transports are installed, there are two main transactions you can execute.  The transactions are:
    /n/ehr/sol71_orgpub = extracts data from SAP based on a collection of instructions called an output format.
    /n/ehr/sol71_img = various functions, including powerful wizards that let you map fields and set filters
    The interface comes with predefined output formats.  You can copy an existing format and modify the copy to extract the desired fields you wish to display in the org chart using the wizard for Output Formats.  The field mapping contains a large number of fields and the Wizard for Additional Fields can map other fields that may not be listed in the Output Format wizard.  Table configuration is also possible for further customization.
    Once the data is extracted, you format the org chart using the OrgPublisher application and publish it as a web based solution for end users or as needed by your company.
    Let me know if you need any additional info.

    Issue :
    when trying to get the org chart through PPOME, the system pulls Job codes instead of position codes. The same problem does not exist when we try to pull the org chart through PPOM_OLD. Could someone please advice as to how to fix it ASAP?

  • Org chart from SAP HR

    Dear collegues,
    has anyone managed to get org. chart from SAP from standard report or HIS.
    I need an org chart with org. unit manager position and below manager the employees position. Is it possible to get this from standard report or do I need a software like org. publisher.
    In the standard report I have only managed to get org unit and all postition below but not functional org chart with org. unit, under that is manager position and under that postion, employees postitio.
    Pls help
    Thank you
    Romano

    Hi Harshvardhan,
    i have tried what you've suggested me and now I can get the manager position in red square but I can't get other positions in that org. unit to be under the manager position. I only get org unit and all positions under that unit.
    Hi Dilek,
    i have tried standard reports but they don't give me the sturcture that my director wants.
    They want to have org chart like this:
    Org. unit
         I
         I
    Manager postition
         I
         I
    All other positions that are not manager
    And from SAP I can only get this org chart:
    Org. unit
         I
         I
    All positions (manager and non manager positions) in one row
    Thank you

  • Org Management Update via web

    does anyone know a solution to update org. mgt data via a web serice (some kind of PPOME via web) ?
    --> SAp service available ?
    --> supplyer ?
    --> specific developement ?
    thanks in advance for your answers.
    KR
    Joachim

    Hi Joachim,
    Nothing in the SAP Standard and also Org.Publisher is only for Publishing not editing.
    Also the third party certification available now with HR-OCI (see note 846057 and 931794) are only for displaying not editing.
    Might be that all the checks that have to be done to validate the input end up in more or less what PPOME is.

  • Invalid XPath ?

    I have a process that gets a date (format YYYY-MM-DD; forced by Console), which has to be delivered to a Webservice, that requests dates in format 'dd MMM yyyy' (24 aug 2005).
    I've tried the following options (in an Assign):
    <copy>
      <from variable="inputVariable" part="payload" query="ora:formatDate('/client:bpAanvraagProcessRequest/client:DatumBemonstering', 'dd MMM yyyy')"/>
      <to variable="addAanvraag_addaanvraag_InputVariable" part="pDbg"/>
    </copy>And:
    <copy>
      <from variable="inputVariable" part="payload" query="xp20:format-dateTime(/client:bpAanvraagProcessRequest/client:DatumBemonstering,'[dd] [MMM] [YYYY]')"/>
       <to variable="addAanvraag_addaanvraag_InputVariable" part="pDbg"/>
    </copy>Both fail with the following message:
    [Error ORABPEL-10076]: invalid xpath query string
    [Description]: in line 68 of "L:\workspaces\BPEL\bpAanvraag\bpAanvraag.bpel", According to BPEL4WS spec 1.1, section 14.3,
    the xpath query "ora:formatDate('/client:bpAanvraagProcessRequest/client:DatumBemonstering', 'dd MMM yyyy')" is invalid,
    query should be an absolute location path and it must start from the root element prefixed with "/"..
    [Potential fix]: Please make sure that your xpath query starts with "/" which is the root..Anyone has any ideas how to fix this?

    Okey, found it:
    The format-string is an XSLT 2.0 picture string, see syntax explained at http://www.w3.org/TR/xslt20/#date-picture-string
    By the way:
    a) w3.org publishes the function xslt:format-date(), and format it by picture. This is not offered by Oracle BPEL it seems (at least not through the Expression builder, ver 10.1.2.0.0 ).
    Oracle-BPEL offers:
    b) ora:formatDate(), and format it by java.text.SimpleDateFormat.
    c) xp20:format-dateTime(), and format it by picture.
    So I took it away by code like:
    <copy>
    <from expression="xp20:current-dateTime()"/>
    <to variable="myDateTime"/>
    </copy>
    <copy>
    <from expression="'P21D'"/>
    <my-xml-comment>The Xpath syntax (like P21D) is for specifying an xdt:dayTimeDuration of 21 days ahead, see http://www.w3.org/TR/xpath-functions/#lexical-dayTimeDuration</my-xml-comment>
    <to variable="myDuration"/>
    </copy>
    <copy>
    <from expression="xp20:add-dayTimeDuration-to-dateTime( bpws:getVariableData('myDateTime'), bpws:getVariableData('myDuration') )"/>
    <to variable="myResultTime"/>
    </copy>
    <copy>
    <from expression="xp20:format-dateTime( bpws:getVariableData('myResultTime'), '[Y0001][M01][D01]' )"/>
    <to variable="myResultTimeNOARK"/>
    </copy>

  • Orgchart Display - Configuration in ESS

    Hello All,
    We are having requirement like, Org Chart need to display from Portal in the ESS area.
    I found some info like , for that thrid party tool need to Install(Org Publisher or Nakisha), any body did the Org Chart Configuration..?Please send the configuration doc.. what are the steps we need to follow from HR End and Potal end...
    Please send the respective config docs..
    Thanks in Advance
    Adapag

    Standard SAP has service key EMPLOYEE_ORGCHART_SERVICE05 which will show the organization chart. While it is extreamly good, it may not be acceptable to client for its looks. I find it good enough though.
    Org Publisher or Nakisha are third party tools, and can be integrated if client has seperately purchased them.

  • Need info on OrgPublisher in Netweaver 7.0

    Hi Guys,
    Is there any related document where I can find about implementing org publisher in Netweaver
    I've installed OP client in back-end and it worked.Now, I want to view in it in portal,do i need to configure or etc
    as am not so sure.Appreciate if you guys can give me any informative info for me to refer.
    Thanks,
    RJ

    Hi Jafar,
    A suitable solution is to publish a html chart in OrgPublisher. This will give you a URL where the chart is published on your server. Now logon to your SAP portal, create an iView and point it to the URL generated by OrgPublisher. This iView will allow Portal users to display the OrgPublisher charts published in SAP Portal.
    Rgds.

    <dataTemplate name="DATA" version="1.0">

    </sqlStatement>
    </dataQuery>
    </dataTemplate>
    3. I have created a data definition with concurrent program short name as code and uploading data template.
    4.I have created a rtf template and registered against the data definition.
    When I run the concurrent program, its failing with the above mentioned error, I am not able to debug out of it.
    Could somebody please help me?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Thiru

    Hi,
    I don't see any issue with data template. it works fine for me .
    Make sure the CP program shortname and Application name are the same as data definiton code and application name.
    As per the error It seems the JCP could not get the data template from repository and its passing null.
    What xdo version you are using ?

    I've also encounter this error since many mounth now and especially when using Excel Template (not RTF Template) with FTP Delivery (Without Busting OR with ScheduleBustringOption=FALSE using BIP Web Service).
    I've performed many tests trying to diagnose the cause but I need to redo these test because they was not done corretly. What I think is this is related with the processing of XML DATA with the corresponding Template.
    I remember that in most cases I had the folowing conditions to reproduce the problem :
    - Report is executed by scheduling it with FTP delivery
    - The correponding query did not return data (empty XML structure)
    - When execution ends, schedule status is SUCCESS (Data processing ???) but delivery is FAILED due to document not found in BIP temporary directories
    - When scheduling the report without using the template (that is XML format output) then all work perfectly without ERROR
    So you'll need to perform many test cases to identify cause OR submit bug on Oracle Support.
    I think sometimes BIP needs some MINIMAL XML structure for generated data to be able to work without error with template (RTF or EXCEL) which contains special formating like chart for example.
    Unfortunatly debugging those are very ........
    We solved our problem by modiying the template until error dissapear when no data is returned by the report query (I did not create SR on Oracle Support for this issue)
    Here is what I get in BIP log file when using my problematic excel template to reproduce error with a query that return empty dataset :

  • Problem when rendering a report in BI Publisher deployed on Apache Tomcat

    Hello for all.
    First, I am going to tell you technical specifications about the software where I have deployed BI Publisher:
    1. OS: Windows XP SP3
    2. JDK and JRE: 1.6.0_24
    3. Apache Tomcat: 5.5.33 (Set JVM Max Memory in 768MB)
    4. BI Publisher EE: 10.1.3.4.1
    I have deployed BI Publisher on Apache Tomcat without any problem, I uploaded Report files (both XDO and RTF), and I can see the reports in XML output format, but when I try to see the reports rendered by using the rtf file I have configured, BI Publisher shows me an Error; I checked the Apache Tomcat log and the following error is reported:
    [042511_033325984][oracle.apps.xdo.common.xml.XSLTWrapper][ERROR] XSL error:

    I checked that the url http://localhost:8080/xmlpserver/SubTemplates/sub-template-parameters.rtf would be accesible via Internet Explorer, and It is accesible.
    I am glad if you can tell me what could be the cause of the error.
    Thanks.

    Finally, I stop working in the implementation of BIP over Apache Tomcat; I installed OC4J 10.1.3.5.0 (standalone installation) and I deployed BIP on it.
    It seems the error I wrote in last post has been fixed, but actually I am obtaining the following error with the deployment on OC4J:
