Org Unit determination

Hi,
While creating sales transactions from the web shop, the org unit does not get determined in the back end CRM intermittently. The Sales Org, Sales Office, Sales Group, Division and distribution Channel are all determined correctly, but the Org Unit remains blank for some transactions. We are using custom sales transaction types and the problem is occurring for all of them. The Org Unit determination is completely standard however. No custom enhancement has been done to it. As the Org unit is missing at the header, it remains blank for all line items for these transactions as well.
In a slightly differnt scenario, the Org Unit field also gets populated at the back end, but becomes blank on editing the transaction from the web shop. This change is also copied to the line items of that particular transaction.
The Ecommerce web shop talks to the CRM application as its backend. CRM is also connected to ECC in our case. We are on SAP CRM 6.0 version, with SP 6. SAP_AP version 7.0 with SP 16.
We are unable to wilfully replicate the problem as well. Any pointers towards the root cause of the problem or a solution will be very helpful.

Org Unit determination based on Emp Resp in Task

Hi...
I am using the standard transaction type TASK, and want to determine the Org Units Sales Org, Distribution Channel and Division based on the value entered for employee responsible. I have these employees to Sales Organization in the Org model under Positions. For the sales Org, I have maintained country as the attribute and released it. My requirement is to see the corresponding Org Units in the TASK transaction depending on the country of the Employee responsible.

Please try to create a new organizational data profile in IMG:
Customer Relationship Management->Master Data->Organizational Management->Organizational Data Determination->Change Rules and Profiles->Maintain Organizational Data Profile
This new organizational data profile should have the following attributes:
Scenario: Sales;
Organizational Model Determin. Rule: please try 10000258 (Orgunit employee) or 10000162 (Employees for responsible org. unit);
Mandatory: Sales Org. / Dist. Channel / Division.
For last, please assign your new organizational data profile in your document type:
Customer Relationship Management->Transactions->Basic Settings->Define Transaction Types

Wrong Org unit determination when a user is assign to multiple Org unit

Hi Experts,
I have a user who is assigned 3 org units. All the three fall under the same parent of Org unit.
Now when the user logs in & executes the tcode CIC0, she gets a pop up asking to selet a Org unit out of the 3 available option.
No matter what the user selects, system always pick the first Org unit ignoring the selection made by user.
We are using SAP CRM 4.0 win client version.
I went through the below link but this did not have any solution

Hi Joaquin,
When the user log in he gets a pop up asking to choose a Org unit, please refer the screenshot in my previous post.
No matter what he selects, it the first Org structure gets assigned.

The business activity screen shows the 1st Org unit. Hence user thinks he has selected the the 2nd org unit creates a Business activity but that gets assign to the wrong org unit unless it is changed manually.

Employee resposnsibles Org unit Determination (Employee is assigned to Org Unit)

Hi ,
We want to determine Org unit based on employee responsible but not on basis of USER.
Employee responsible will be assigned to a particular position in Organization .
We want to determine Organization unit where Employee is assigned .
When in transaction Partner Function employee responsible is selected then Organization unit to which employee is assigned should get determined.
When employee resposnsible is changed Org unit (Service ) should change .
Please suggest solution.

first u need to do the filter settings in object BUPA_MAIN to stop the employee replication to R3.
When u create the no. ranges in r3 u can remove the filter so that the process will continue.

Org unit doesnt exist but I getting error by HRBCI_ATTRIBUTES_BUFFER_UPDATE

Gurus, i have an issue with Org. Model, an Org Model was created and transfered from customizing box to testing box, then one error was issued when running HRBCI_ATTRIBUTES_BUFFER_UPDATE report: "missing COUNTRY for xxxx org unit". then I checked it in ppoma_crm and HRP1000 table to solve it, but it does not exist in the system, so my Org, Unit determination rules are not working due this error.
Has anyone gotten that error for that kind of ghost Org Unit, how can I figure it out??

You can set breakpoint at message -> get line in program there message appears and follow solve the problem.

Org unit attributes

How are the Language and Currency attributes for a org unit used ? Is it possible if these attributes are maintained for a customer then in transactions use customer attributes if available but default to the org attributes if customer attributes are not available ? e.g sold-to party 1234 do not have language and currency maintained, so in a transaction I want these to be determined from the org unit but if the language and currency are maintained it should use it from BP ? Is it possible to achieve this through config? Does the language and currency attributes for the org unit determined needs to match with those maintained for the sold-to BP? We are on CRM 7.0. Determine the superior Org Unit for a given Organisation Unit.

Hi,
I am using the Sequential Access method of accessing the PCH Logical Database.
Is there any macro available to determine the superior Org Unit of the current Organisation Unit being looped at using the GET OBJEC statement.
I cannot access the STRUC internal table as I do not want to use structural access.
At the moment I am using the function module RH_ENTH_READ_STRUCTURE. Is this a good way of doing this or is there any PCH functionality for this?

I just was concerned if either way would cause a performance issue while i'm already in the GET OBJEC loop.
Anyway, for now I think I'll continue using the function module. I guess a direct SELECT on HRP1001 would require explicit authority check.
If someone else has a comment on this topic do post it in. I have time till next week to finalize on my approach.

Auto determination of Service Organization and Org.Unit

I've created an Org.Model with Org.Units. I've also configured a rule to derive the service organization and the responsible Org Unit based on the activity reason.
When i manually specify the activity reason in the transaction, both service org and org. unit are not automatically derived. As a result I have to manually specify them.
What am I missing here?

Best praxis for determining a cost center for an HR org unit in PPM ?

Hello all.
We have defined the HR Org structure directly in PPM backend. Later the intention is that an interface should transfer this data from HR.
The HR orgstructure defined works fine for the staffing process (with "resource manager via responsible organization").
We have however run into some problems with the MLC & costing part. The intention is to use manual MLC linking tasks/phases to PS WBS-elements (task based controlling).
If we leave the org unit field blank in the cProject project project definition we run into the message "No account assignment exists for the project defintion - no costing" and the systems rolls back from the assignment made.
If we however assign an orgunit in the project defintion we instead get the message "No cost center could be determined for org unit 123...".
<u>We therefore need to be able to determine a cost center for the Org Unit assigned to be able to proceed. How is this then best done?</u>
There is a master cost center assigned to the orgunit in HR but not in PPM backend where this option does not seem to be available.
With task based controlling the cost center does not really matter so it could possibly be hardcoded via a BADI (?) but is this really the way this should be done?
Any suggestions?

We will test with an ALE replicated structure so that the object ID becomes the same in the two systems as soon as possible.
Pending that we will try the BADI option. Here I am however not sure what it is we really expect the BADI to do. Which field should be populated with the cost center (the fields available are mainly project characteristics)?
I also eventually found some information regarding this in the PPM 4.0 help. I enclose info regarding this below.

b) choose Collaboration projects>Accounting Integration>General Information about Accounting integration>Derivation of Organizational data.
As I read this the system derives this as follows in case of task-based or role-based costing with no resource assignment:
1) Look for the two BADIs mentioned to derive the cost center
2) If no result there it looks for an org unit in the cProject header (where I assume having the Org Unit with the same Object ID in backend and ERP enables this option)
3) If no result there the system looks for a "requesting cost center" in the account assignment object (WBS element or internal order)

Employee determination on the basis of Org.Unit

Hi expert,
I'd like to retrieve the employee responsible for a task from the organizational unit:
In the business scenario i've a person that, for each org unit, is in charge to fulfill this task; the expected behaviour would be that while creating a task, the employee responsible is automatically filled with the person, that for the identified org unit, is responsible.
I've set the access sequence "0009: organizational data employee for an organizational unit." in correspondence of the partner function Employee responsible; Now i don't know how to link that person to the org unit. Do i have to use position before?

Carmine,
You would need to create a new access sequences based on organizational data. Then you would also need to use a organizational data determination rule to determine which org unit/position should be used in the sequence.
If this can't work, then you need to implement the partner determination BADI (COM_PARTNER_BADI) to build your source determination logic so that it meets your needs.

How can I add a specific organization Unit with a particular User Id, i.e when ever that user id logs in into system and create a transaction the org. unit assigned with him determined automatically.
And one more query, how can we send a org. unit for approval?

Hi Rahul,
We don't assign the Organization unit to the user in the SU01. In SU01 we assing the PFCG roles and authorization related stuff.
Rather we create the Organization model, assign positions and then assign the user to the relevant position under the required organization unit using the tcode "PPOMA_CRM".
When you setup the Organization determination procedure, then automatically while creating the transaction, the Organization Unit of the person who is creating the Transaction gets determined.

Missing Org unit from position ID

Could you please provide additional information which I have missed out that would help resolve the issue.
Problem Statement:
Position ID XXX originally belongs to O XXXXXXXX [Sample Org 1]. When HR Recruitment administrator performed action to move structure reporting to another O YYYYYYYY [Sample Org 2], the record went missing as the action done was CHANGE instead of COPY. This had caused two ex-staff showed no Cost Center & Org Unit. Now, user is trying to reinstate S XXX to O XXXXXXXX [Sample Org 1] but is prompted with an error message - Company code cannot be determined for cost center 52222.
Action Taken:
1. Checked S 5111111 and found that it is currently under O YYYYYYYY and currently occupied by P 123456 (validity period is from 01.11.2010 to 30.04.2011)
2. Checked account assignment of S 5111111 to confirm the company where it is assigned to. It reflects that position inherited attributes O YYYYYYYY [Sample Org 2] to which the position is currently under
3. Checked account assignment of O YYYYYYYY it only contains the controlling area which is TTTT. I then checked IT0001 of the current employee who is holding the position and company code reflecting is CCC.
4. Checked account assignment of O XXXXXXXX where they want to reinstate the position and it only contains the controlling area which is TTTT and master cost center is 52222. I checked one employee under the said Org to verify to which company it is currently under and found that it is the same, CAT. At this point, I do not see any issues as to why it is not allowing them to create A003 rel to O XXXXXXXX .
Note: I was not able to replicate the error since it is working fine in dev given the same scenario.
Findings:
The only thing that I can see is on the validity date. If they are to reinstate the position to where it has been originally assigned which is under O XXXXXXXX [Sample Org 1], it should not overlap with current record since there is somebody occupying the post. If it does overlap then it will automatically delete the existing record.
In addition, I have managed to check transaction S_AHR_61016528 (B011 eval path) and found validity period of cost center to O XXXXXXXX is 01.04.2002. If user is trying to establish A003 rel for S 5111111 and validity period used is 01.01.1997. Would that matter why user is getting the said error. I have tested and was able to create rel successfully.
Would appreciate if you guys could share how else the position can be reinstated to the old org unit.

We are setting up printing on our CRM 5.0 system (Web interaction centre) and was wondering if anyone knows of a way to find out what Org unit the users is logged on as ??
We are using Actions to print specific smartforms off for the users and need the prints to go to an assigned printer.. We are hoping to use a printer that is assigned to the 'Default Printer' attribute in the org structure (PPOMA_BBP)
As you will be aware users can be in many positions (under the org units) in the org structure and when we log onto the Web IC we get the option of which one we would like to use... Is there a function that can read this Org unit so we can use it in the printer determination BADI to decide what printer the prints will go to ???

As soon as you make the profile selection,IC sets the profile and org unit in the session.
You can read them using
Data: lv_prof     type ref to if_ic_profile,
                pname       type        string,
                orgunit     type        crmt_ic_org_unit.
lv_prof = cl_ic_profile_service=>get_instance( ).
pname = lv_prof->get_profile( ).
org_unit = cl_crm_ic_services=>get_org_unit( ).

We are setting up printing on our CRM 5.0 system (Web interaction centre) and was wondering if anyone knows of a way to find out what Org unit the users is logged on as ??
We are using Actions to print specific smartforms off for the users and need the prints to go to an assigned printer.. We are hoping to use a printer that is assigned to the 'Default Printer' attribute in the org structure (PPOMA_BBP)
