Org.Unit updated regularly from HR ? :-(
Hi guys,
Just to be sure:
1. I can create a new org. unit (initially) from HR module right ?
2. If yes, Is it possible to maintain just 1 structure ? Ex: if a new department is created in HR, the change should be replicated to SRM automatically.
Is it possible ?

So, If I understand well:
1. Its possible to mantain just one org.structure (in HR) and replicate that structure to SRM
2. I guess that this action just replicate the structure but not their attributes right ? So, I would need to update the attributes in SRM Org Unit. Am I right ?
By the way, Im using SRM 4.0, do you know if you solution applies to this version ?

PA and PSA Inheritance issue from Org Unit
Hi,
I am trying to create an Org Unit with effective from today or a future date. When I do this, PA and PSA is not getting inherited for the newly created Org Unit.
But when I create an Org Unit with effective from past date, this issue is not there and works fine perfectly.
Note: The issue is there in the Development Client as of now. But there is no issue in quality. There was a recent patch that gets updated in Dev system. Not sure whether patch is an issue.

i understand that if you create new org unit with existing org unit which already maintained with its PA and PSA assigned in Account Assignment tab then its never occur this problem..but if you create your org unit out side the remaining structure the you must assign PA and PSA for this specific

Obtaining Org Unit from Business Partner number
Hi, I am trying to obtain an org unit object id from the bp number that is created when the org unit is created. I am in a BP BADI, so I only have the bp number, and am in the process of creating a new org unit when the BADI is called. I have tried to use RH_STRUC_GET but because we are in the creation process this does not retrieve any results. I understand that this fm reads a buffer to get its results, and the org unit is obviously not in the buffer at this time.
Could anyone help me to find a function module that will find the org unit in this case?Hi Ratikant,
Thanks for your suggestion. This may work if I was looking for an employee's org unit, but I was actually looking for the BP record for the org. unit that was being created. It would also depend on whether this function module would work before the save and commit has occurred.
I cannot test you solution since I managed to implement a work around where I saved the org unit using a funtion group in another(earlier) BADI so that I could retrieve it in this BADI. This has been tested and implemented and I don't want to cahnge what is already working!

Org unit Hierarchy structure at Key date
Hello Friends,
We have an issue with displaying HR Org unit hierarchy structure between two calendar months.
The BI Report has a selection parameter to select Org unit hierarchy , Calendar month From and Calendar month To
The BI Report is to display the no.of sick absence days for employees in a chosen Org unit hier.
Employee A had a sick absence of 5 days in the month 04.2011 in the Org unit X . The same employee had a sick absence of 4 days in 05.2011.The Org unit X then delimit in 05.2011 , the Org unit X is no longer in Org structure from 05.2011.
When we run the report for 04.2011 to 04.2011 , the employee A is showing absence under Correct Org unit ie X with correct Org structure .
When we run the Report for 05.2011 to 05.2011 , the employee A is showing absence under hierarchy Org unit Not assigned which is OK .
But the issue is when we run the Report from 04.2011 to 05.2011 , The employee A absence days 9 (5 +4 ) showing under Not assigned Org unit hierarchy structure which is the latest Org unit .
When I deactivate the Org unit hierarchy and choose tech name of Org unit , It is showing correct Org unit key
But The user would like to see 5 days under org unit X and 4 days under Not assigned with Correct Org unit hier structure when we run the Report from 04.2011 to 05..2011 .
We have a user Exit variable for the Key date in the Bex Report which seems to be taking only one date at any time .
Is there any way to get the correct figures under Org unit hier structure where employee had absence in when we put range of calendar months on a selection screen ?

You can try adding two more attributes to Org Unit as "Calender month from" and "Calender month to".
In these attributes maintain the validity period for the corresponding master data.
For example, in your case you can maintain the master data as:
Employee | Org Unit | Calender month from |Calender month to | sick absence
A | X | 4.2011| 4.2011 | 5 days
A | | 5.2011 | 05.2011 | 4 days
And in report use variables for Calender month from" and "Calender month to".
Hence, when user executes the report with selection as:
Calender month from" = 04.2011
"Calender month to" = 05.2011
The data will be read from master data based on these selections along with key date and report will show output as expected.
Employee | Org Unit | Calender month from |Calender month to | sick absence
A | X | 4.2011| 4.2011 | 5 days
A | | 5.2011 | 05.2011 | 4 days

Cost center behind an org. unit
Hi,
how can I get the cost center assigned to an org. unit ?? I am not talking about relationship A011; this works only if the relationship is available in the object´s master data. The problem is when the cost center is inherited from the org. unit above or from the one above this one or from .....
Another problem is when the position is vacant; I cannot read IT 0001 for the employee.
Is there any function or BAPI for that ??

thanks both but it does not help. I´ll try to explain it other way. You create in CO a cost center and you create an org. unit in HR. You can then assign 1 or more org. units to the cost center. I am looking for that union. Relationship A011 is not much of a help.
In the org. structure, a lower-level org. unit inherits the cost center from the father or grandfather org. unit, if we did not assign it to a cost center.
I don´t want to read the higher-level org. unit for finding A011 or one level higher if A011 is not available or another higher level. -

My client wants to rename a existing org unit, so that the history should be available of the org unit.
Scenario:-
From dt. 01.01.2005 to 31.12.9999 the name of the org unit is ABC org unit. Now I want to rename the org unit as XYZ org unit with effect from 01.01.2011, so that I can know that from 01.01.2005 to 31.12.2010 name of the org unit was ABC & from 01.01.2011 to 31.12.9999 the name of the org unit is XYZ.
Should I use the copy function to rename the org unit in tcode PO10 or PP01 or is there any other way to do so, so that the history of the org unit should be maintained.

To do this go to PP01, enter the OrgUnit ID and then edit infotype 1000 (Object). You can set the start/end date of the new name when renaming it. This will delimit the previous record (the current name ABC) the day before the start date and create a new record (the new name XYZ) from the start date you entered.

Recreation of a Org Unit...

In case the Org. Unit assignment has been deleted then the same can be reassigned. In case the Object has been deleted then you need to recreate the Org. unit.
When you recreate the Org. unit the BP and Org. unit ID would be different from that of the deleted one.
You can maintain the attributes, responsibilities and linking it to corresponding backend Org. units without any issue.

Replication from HR not updating SRM Org Unit adddress's

Can anyone help here , I am working on EC SRM 4.0. We have our SRM Org structure replicated from HR, but for some of the org units in SRM the address has not been replicated, Yet when I check org unit HR PPOSE, the address in the org unit is present and nothing seems out of the ordinary for these org units in HR
This is causing a problem as the users attached to these nodes without address's are becoming defective and require repair

Information i have found for you on this is as follows. I hope it might help you a bit.
This issue occurs because the intial distribution has not been done
correctly. Please review the way to distribute HR datas :
1- Using transaction PFAL, sending the objects C, O, S successively in
Update mode with the infotypes 1000, 1002 and 1028 only, without
using evaluation paths (all existing objects).
=> The objects will then be created without relationship, and no
error must be reported.
2- Using transaction PFAL, sending the object P in Update mode.
=> As the structure objects are already present, no error message
must be generated. If some are, please analyse them, and correct them
before the next step.
3- Using transaction PFAL, sending the objects C, O, S successively in
Update mode (without restrictions, or only the infotype 1001).
=> The relationships which were not sent in step 1 are then
distributed.
4- The changes pointers can now be activated and processed, as the
initialization has been done (steps 1 to 3).

Change in Responsible Org Unit does not update Project Correctly
Hi Gurus
I set-up a Project in cProjects and Released/Transferred.
The Project was visible in SAP PS, etc.
Then I went back into cProjects and modified the Responsible Org Unit to another of our Org Units which has a differing Profit Center.
When I view this Project in CJ20N. The Project Definition still carries the Original Profit Center, not the new one.
However when I view all of the WBS Elements these all have the new Profit Center.
Does anyone know how I can get the Project Definition to also update correctly?

Update table HRP1001. Change the Position and the Org Unit.

I am new to SAP HR and have been given a work in this area. The requirement is to update the relationship table HRP1001 replacing the old Manager' Position and the Org Unit with the New Manager's Position and the Org. Unit.
I have some how found out the way to get the Postion and the Org unit of the old manager. Now I am replacing the same with the new details using the Update HRP1001 Command but this is the old and not recommended method acheiving this task.
Can anyone please suggest me any Function Module OR the BAPI to update the HRP 1001 table with the New MAnager;s Position and the Org Unit.

I am using the FM: 'BAPI_HRMASTER_SAVE_REPL_MULT'but still not updating. I am trying to change the Position and the Org unit but not successful yet.
I first used the Operator 'I' withi the table BAPIHROBJ-OPERATOR, it failed then I tried 'U' for update it still failed. Can you please let me know how many such operations possible with their charecter values apart from I & U. the domain value set does not exist as it is char1.
Now I came to know that I have to terminate the old relationship by changing the ENDDA and create a new one with the new BEGDA as tomorrow's date.
Can you please suggest something.

How to update BP number of an Org. unit in Org. Model?

For each organizational unit created in the organizational model a business partner is generated automatically. This number range that will be used for creating a org unit can be defined.
If you are looking forward for creating a Org. unit with a specific number range, please following the below mentioned steps:
Step 1: Defining Number Range for Org Business Partners
Goto transaction BUCF or SAP CRM IMG Menu: SPRO-> Cross-Application Components ->SAP Business Partner -> Business Partner -> Basic Settings -> Number Ranges and Groupings -> Define Number Ranges
Choose Change Intervals
Choose Insert Intervals
Assign an interval you need and provide values for the field No., From number, To number, and flag 'X' in EXT. if external number range is required.
save your entries.
Step 2: Defining Groupings for Org Business Partners
Goto SAP CRM IMG Menu: SPRO ->Cross-Application Components -> SAP Business Partner -> Business Partner ->Basic Settings -> Number Ranges and Groupings -> Define Groupings and Assign Number Ranges
Choose New Entries
Enter Correspoding values in field
Grouping: for ex. Z4
Short Name: for ex Org BP
Description: Give some description
Number Range: Provide the number range defined in the previous step
save your entries
Step 3: Set up integration
Activate the integration of organizational units and business partners and assign the number range defined in the preceding sections.
Go to IMG: SPRO ->Customer Relationship Management -> Master Data -> Business Partner ->Integration Business Partner Organization Management -> Set Up Integration with Organizational Management
Enter the following values for the existing combination of Group and Sem.abbr.:
HRALX-HRAC - X
HRALX-OBPON - ON
HRALX-ONUMB - 2
HRALX-OSUBG - Enter your Number Range defined in the previous steps here.
save your entries.
Step 4: Execute Report for Changeover Classification
Execute the report CRM_MKTBP_ZCACL_UPDATE_30 in transaction SE 38.

Mass updates to move lots of positions to one org unit

Can anybody tell me in SAP whether there is a transaction or way to perform mass updates to move lots of positions to one org unit ?
Our users have to perform Re-org changes so they would like to know whether there is a way to move positions at once.Bharat-
I am assuming that your requirement is to move mass users from One Org node to another. Ex One Plant Org node to Another plant Org node.
If my assumption is correct then, please follow the below steps.
1) Go in to the change mode of Org Plan using T-code PPOMA_BBP
2) Using shift key, select all the users that you need to move.
3) Drag and Drop the selected users to the desired Org node.
If the user IDs are not in sequence then you can use Ctrl key to select the relevant user ID.

Updating user with Org Units using NSAPI
We have a requirement where we need to update users with different Organizational Units using an external system. The integration guide lists an NSAPI that might be used for this operation, Create/Update Person. This just says that we need to use the XML received from a Get person details API and use it as a request XML.
The problem we are facing is figuring out where to place the new Org Unit details in the request XML.Would anyone know about that detail.
Is this even the correct API for achieving the requirement or are we looking at the wrong thing hereHi,
I've changed the input type to select(multiple) for that field and it works fine when I order it from the portal directly. Its able to set multiple values into the field when an sql query return more than one row.
The problem only occurs when I use the RAPI for making a request to that service.
The structure I use for passing data to that field is:

<req:string>Value2</req:string>

which is what you've pasted above.
Even if I stop sending any value to this field and only send values to other single value fields, it still gives the same error message. -
Missing Org unit from position ID

Could you please provide additional information which I have missed out that would help resolve the issue.
Problem Statement:
Position ID XXX originally belongs to O XXXXXXXX [Sample Org 1]. When HR Recruitment administrator performed action to move structure reporting to another O YYYYYYYY [Sample Org 2], the record went missing as the action done was CHANGE instead of COPY. This had caused two ex-staff showed no Cost Center & Org Unit. Now, user is trying to reinstate S XXX to O XXXXXXXX [Sample Org 1] but is prompted with an error message - Company code cannot be determined for cost center 52222.
Action Taken:
1. Checked S 5111111 and found that it is currently under O YYYYYYYY and currently occupied by P 123456 (validity period is from 01.11.2010 to 30.04.2011)
2. Checked account assignment of S 5111111 to confirm the company where it is assigned to. It reflects that position inherited attributes O YYYYYYYY [Sample Org 2] to which the position is currently under
3. Checked account assignment of O YYYYYYYY it only contains the controlling area which is TTTT. I then checked IT0001 of the current employee who is holding the position and company code reflecting is CCC.
4. Checked account assignment of O XXXXXXXX where they want to reinstate the position and it only contains the controlling area which is TTTT and master cost center is 52222. I checked one employee under the said Org to verify to which company it is currently under and found that it is the same, CAT. At this point, I do not see any issues as to why it is not allowing them to create A003 rel to O XXXXXXXX .
Note: I was not able to replicate the error since it is working fine in dev given the same scenario.
Findings:
The only thing that I can see is on the validity date. If they are to reinstate the position to where it has been originally assigned which is under O XXXXXXXX [Sample Org 1], it should not overlap with current record since there is somebody occupying the post. If it does overlap then it will automatically delete the existing record.
In addition, I have managed to check transaction S_AHR_61016528 (B011 eval path) and found validity period of cost center to O XXXXXXXX is 01.04.2002. If user is trying to establish A003 rel for S 5111111 and validity period used is 01.01.1997. Would that matter why user is getting the said error. I have tested and was able to create rel successfully.
Would appreciate if you guys could share how else the position can be reinstated to the old org unit.
