Organ and keyboard sounds missing

Question

I have just installed ogic pro on my imac. Everything works fine, but most organ - and some keyboard sounds are not there, it seems they have not been installed.
Shall I install everything again?

I'm not a MIDI expert but I've seen this and I have a fix. Perhaps somebody else can explain why it does this and maybe even a better fix.
I experience this problem often (and mostly with organs) when I import MIDI files. The problem seems to be related to the MIDI channel for the notes. You need to change the MIDI channel of the notes before you can hear them.
I change the MIDI channels often enough that I have added a keyboard shortcut to do this. Here is what you do:
Go to the menu at the top of your screen and select "Logic Pro->Preferences->Key Commands..." A floating "Key Commands" window will appear. Open the "Arrange and Various Editors" section. About 3/4 of the way down, you will find two items called "Event Channel +1" and "Event Channel -1". These are the commands needed to change the MIDI channel on the notes. We will assign
these commands to certain keys so they are readily available. I set "Event Channel +1" to Command-Option-UpArrow. I set "Event Channel -1" to Command-Option-DownArrow. To set these, select one and click on the "Learn by Key Position" button. Then, press the key combination. It should be learned. After you set both key combinations, close the "Key Commands" window.
Now, you can fix your sounds. Go select one (or all) of the notes that you cannot hear and change its event channel (usually you have to go down). Use the "Event Channel -1" key combination (Command-Option-DownArrow). After you go down a few steps, you will start to hear the note(s).
