Organising Exs24 Files. Help!
I've been using Logic for quite some time now and have been building up my sample library.
However not long ago I got sick of the fact that when I opened the Exs24 instrument menu and all the sound show up it was just way too many. So I decided that I should organise them and created folders like drums, synth, fx etc... BUT when I went back to an old arrange it replaced many of the samples and couldn't find the audio files...
So my question is if there's any way of re-directing the audio files if you want to clean up in the Exs menu or do i have to start from scratch?

By default the EXS limits its search to the volumes (disks/partitions) within the computer. You can tell it to search to external volumes as well. Open the EXS24 plug-in UI, and click on the options button, then select "Preferences."
In there is an option called: Search Samples On...
Try selecting "All Volumes" and see if you still have the problem.
Also, you might want to try using EXS Manager to tidy up and relink all of your files. Its reliable and very very fast.

You cannot put music onto your iPod without using iTunes, that what iTunes is for.
It's also not a good idea to wipe the music from your computer and having it only on your iPod. We see countless posts here from people who have done just that - and then lost everything when the iPod needs a Restore. Even if you never need to Restore your iPod, what happens when you eventually replace the iPod? You'll be back here asking how to get the music from one iPod to another. That's not easy to do, we see countless posts about that too!
A much better idea is to buy an external drive (a proper external drive, not simply an iPod) and put your large amount of music onto that drive. Then point your iTunes Library to that drive. However, you need to remember two things:
You still need a backup of that Library.
Using an external drive as your iTunes Library means that the drive must be connected and ready to read before starting your iTunes programme. If it isn't, then iTunes will look on the C: drive - and you will find no music in your Library. (Once again, lots of posts about that as well!) -
I have Lightroom 1.4.1 and I just started shooting the Nikon D700. I cannot get Lightroom to read my new raw files, help... Is there a plug in or update I can get? I can't afford new software after new camera and new lense!
Lightroom 1.4.1 does not support native (NEF) files from the D700 because the camera didn't even exist when it was released. To get support you have two options: upgrade to Lr 2.x (paid for upgrade) or convert your NEF files to DNG.

I have a Macbook Air (july 2012) with OS X 10.8.3 installed. I have dvds with .vob files and have Quicktime Version 10.2 (603.12). I can't play the DVDs. There are some features of QT that I like, e.g. precise frame selection and save as .png file-help. Am I missing some Apple software? I thought QT for Mountain Lion could convert the .vob files - is there some setting that I have missed?

When converting to sampler instrument EXS24, files are not audible or their pitch is changed.
For some reason every time I try chopping up an Audio file and exporting it to EXS24 it almost never works properly.
I notice that it does convert the files into midi and I can see them in the edit window, but I notice the files are not audible or the pitch is distorted/changed.
Is there a setting I have within EXS24 that is causing this without me knowing? I can't use EXS24 right now without it changing whatever I upload into it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am getting message from MacPro that my start up disc is full - but I can't find this "start up disc" and can't figure out what to do to help situation. I've been making a number of imovies, which generates junk files and material that I should toss in the trash, but it is not clear to me what items I can toss and which items I can't toss. Can you help? Using the imovie "help" support the system showed me under the menu item "go" where the "start up disc" should be - but that wasn't actually available on my menu! Thanks for your help!

1. I couldn't open my Finder (the color ball is always rotating)
2. I witness slightly excess heating than usual on the top left corner of the laptop
3. My desktop files are all missing
4. I couldn't access any file even when I use Spotlight (it won't respond to open any file selected)
5. Safari and other browsers work
6. I have Parallel Desktop with Windows and I can access files which are available in Windows

Read from Text File - Help Bug?
Hi - I am currently working on LV8 and I think that there is some misunderstanding potential in the help file. To be more exact in the help to the "Read From Text File" VI.
The description for "count":
" ... If count is <0, the function reads the entire file. The
default is –1, which indicates to read a single line if you placed a checkmark
next to the Read Lines shortcut menu item and to read the
entire file if you removed the checkmark next to the item. "
If count is lower than zero, the function reads the entire file. That sounds clear to me.
The default is -1, which indicates to read a single line if you placed a checkmark next to the "Read Lines" shortcut menu item. Now what? Does it read a single line or the whole file?
.. and to read the entire file if you removed the checkmark next to the item. I thought it reads the whole file if I use -1 ?
the VI itself behaves as I'd expect it to:
* If I place a checkmark next to Read Lines and put -1, I get an array containing the lines
* If I remove the checkmark, I get only a single string item.
Now where is the error? Is the VI not working properly or only the description a little bit ... strange ??hein??

Here is what I get from Context Help on the Read From Text File:
Read from Text File
Reads a specified number of characters or lines from a byte stream file. By default, this function reads all characters from the text file. Wire an integer value to count to specify how many individual characters you want to read starting with the first character. Right-click the function and place a checkmark next to the Read Lines option in the shortcut menu to read individual lines from the text file. When you select the Read Lines option in the shortcut menu, wire an integer value to the count input to specify how many individual lines you want to read from the file starting with the first line. Enter a value of -1 in count to read all characters and lines from the text file.
Humm.
New feature (again).. If you select checkmark the Read Lines option, it will not send the text to a sting indicator, as shown in the attached image. If selected, then it's expecting to write lines to an array of strings... WHY??? I don't know.. I'll ask..
Strange... LV8 is full of mysteries...

after working on a tracksheet with no problems for a month it suddenly won't open - at about 27% open, it stops loading and i get general error (41) -

thx!Its some sort of corruption. You can try trashing your renders.
You can also try saving a copy of your project to your desktop and unmount your drive(s) which contain your media and scratch discs (renders folder, capture scratch, etc...)
Then try to open your copy of the project file. It will probably open and tell you the files arfe offline. Mount your drive(s) and reconnect your files one at a time or in small groups. If its a corrupt media you should get the error when you reconnect it. -
Error Codes and Now I can't Open my Muse File-HELP!
Hello-
I've been building my site for four weeks now. I keep my muse file and all my photos etc. on an external hard drive. It's all been going well until I try to open my site/Muse file and it says error code 36 and error code 43. It says some data is missing or requried items can't be found. I have no idea what happened. I uploaded my site to the FTP last night. Then I closed down Muse and shut down my Mac. Today when I tried to access my Muse file it's won't open. I am frightened I've lost all my work and my business web site.
Any help or advice would be much appricated!

When I try to do a CC update I get an U44M1I210 error message, "Update failed - Unable to extract the downloaded files. Press retry to download again. (U44M1I210)" - help please - re-downloading makes no difference, applies to latest Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop CC, others seemed to update without problems. I can see the disk image files in AAMUpdater folder but they will not open and come up with "couldn't be opened - resource busy" message.
Yes Jeff, I did all those several times to no avail.
I've included a small error snippet from two installs here. In Creative Cloud when updating the Apps, all 3 get to 50%, then the failure occurs. Retrying starts at 50% and fails the same way each time.
This first one is a segment from the Indesign updater - I have always had the all hard drive folders with read and write privileges allowed and I checked again, this is still the case so I do not know why this particular error message is arising. The second snippet if from the Illustrator update.

Creative ZEN - is it possible to organise the files in map
I have an iPod where mp3-files are organised according to the tag-data (album - artist - genre etc). But I would like another mp3 player where my mp3-files are organised in maps like they are on my PC. So my question is if that is possible on the Creative Zen? If not so do anybody know another type of mp3-player where the user will be able to organize the files in maps on the player itself?

- It's just mp3 files (about 200 CD's ripped to mp3 files)For small sources (music) you can manually build and drag your MP3 files to your manually built folders.
