Organizational Hierarchy in Article Master

Hi Sapgurus,
In Article master data we maintain the wm data at warehouse and storage type level. I am trying maintain different data for two storage types in a single warehouse. I am not able to do so even though SAP has given access on storage type level in article master. When I change for one storage type it gets changed for the other and vice versa. Can anyone please tell me how can I maintain different data for different storage types under same warehouse and same article.

When creating the WM views of the material master the only fields that are influenced by extending the organizational level to the storage type are those fields on the WM2 view under storage bin stock.
The data on the WM 1 view and the palletization data on the WM2 view are controlled at the warehouse org level, not the storage type level.

LSMW change article master data

Dear All,
As I am new in Retail, i need to know detail steps how to perform LSWM (IDOC method) to change material master (MM42)
providing that needed fields are article code - vendor - purchase organization .. and the field to be changed is tax code located in purchasing view.
Or there is another method to mass change for these materials.

You have multiple options of how to create an LSMW project to maintain Article Master data within SAP.
You can use the IDOC method using message type ARTMAS Basic Type ARTMAS05, you can use standard input or direct input with object 020 Article Master Method 0000 - program RMDATIND and even BAPI with BUS1001001 Retail article
What you will need to do is work through each of the process steps within after defining the object attributes which include defining the source structure and fields (i.e. you flag file structure) and mapping the source structure fields to the target structure (I.E. IDoc fields) and then specifying the location of the flat file.

hi everyone,
i had a doudt in article master(mm42) in this when iam giving matnr and werks(for exp : tg51) in the selection screen and press enter it shows some data in tabstrips and in that if we click on 'LOGISTICS DC' in that if u come down u can see some push button in that click on the 'OTHER LOGISTICS DATA' in that the 'PROFIT CENTER' feild(PRCTR) it has to show plant which we have given in starting werks plant no(i.e tg51) and if we come back and click on 'LOGISTICS STORE' in that if u come down u can some push button in click on the 'OTHER LOGISTICS DATA' in that the 'PROFIT CENTER' feild(PRCTR) it has to show plant which we have given in starting werks plant no(tg51) BUT IT IS NOT SHOWING, IT IS SHOWING AS 'TN51'. WHY THIS IS HAPPENING BOTH ARE SAME FIELDS FORM SAME TABLE EVEN, BUT WHY IT IS SHOWING DIFFERENT PLANT NO'S.

You are referring to two different organizational unit, namely Distribution Center and the other one Store. Each one may have separate profit centers assigned.
The profit center assigned to the store may be different to the one assigned to the Distribution center level.
Profit centers are separate from Plants. It may be co-incidence they have same value in your setup.

IS Retail - Article Sales Price Updation in Article Master

Hai guys,
I created a new article (mm41) and I enetered Purchasing price in the 'Purchasing' tab. But when I give a mark up percentage in the 'Sales' tab, the price is not updating / changing as per the percentage. However I saw this feature working fine in some others' system.
Can anyone help me in fixing up this problem? Thanks in advance

SPRO>Logistics general>Retail pricing>Sales Price Calculation>Assign Pricing Type/Reference Site to Organizational Level
U should have pricing type say 0001 & reference site assigned to sales org, distribution channel combination
Article master will calculate sales prices based on this & mark up u have maintained for mechandise category in wva1

I am trying to extend article master to site and storage location. MMSC_MASS or MM17 does not allow for Retail article. Is there any other mass transaction thru which Articles can be extended?
Tried articel integrated change but it only allows to change, not extend or create.

On creation of a new version of the Employee Organization hierarchy, some of the OBIEE dashboards & analyses that were oracle seeded function show ...
Total Employee headcount = total employee headcount from hierarchy ver 1 + total emp headcount hierarchy ver 2
Which is incorrect and misleading in the reports. (Similar issues for FTE..... )
Firstly, is this normal ----- or has the versioning been implemented incorrectly, or is there missing aggregation at the Ebusiness, BI rpd or dashboard level?
Secondly, what is the best solution to display the relevant hierarchy based on the report dates?
If there is further aggregation needed, how can this be added without needing to update it every time a new employee organization hierarchy version is copied?

Hello,
Since you want to transfer Article Master, it should be a Retail System. So you should use Message Type ARTMAS. For fullbuild, you can use transaction WDBM and for changes, you can use WDBU. For changes, you can enable change pointers for required fields using BD64.

Hi Colin,
In MM41/42/43 from the Main menu select System->Services for Object. Now select Create to Attach any file (the article Photo).
You can view the Photo by going to same transactions and select System->Services for Object. Now select Attachmetn List.
This is one of the method to attach document to an object in SAP.
Another standard way is to do it using DMS module. I have done it before but do not remember the exact process. Will let you know if and when I get details.

The organization hierarchy export function of OIM

Implement the Product Allocation Functionality
We are required to implement product allocation functionality in SAP R/3 (Enterprise Version).
We tried to do the elaborate steps as per the implementation guide but are not successful. Can you kindly help by giving the simple steps for implementation.
Please see if the following helps:
Configuration Overview; Allocation Specific Usage
1.Allocation Procedure (OV1Z) The product allocation procedure is the parent of the entire allocation process. All materials that are to be included in the allocation scheme are required to have an allocation procedure assigned to it in the material master. In addition, as of release 4.0, it is in the procedure that the method of allocation is defined. The user has the opportunity to set an indicator to identify their choice of two different methods (discrete and cumulative allocation) to evaluate the quantities to be considered for product allocation.
2.Allocation Object (OV2Z) The allocation object is the root level of the allocation process where actual data is entered and planned in LIS. The object allows the user to further break down a procedure into smaller parts for future validation of components comprising a specific material
3.Allocation Hierarchy Mapping (OV3Z) Primarily, this transaction permits the assignment of an allocation procedure to an LIS information structure. Secondly, a character is assigned to the information structure to permit collective planning. Finally, the user can assign a step level to the procedure and information structure to sequence the order in which allocation quantities are checked. This functionality allows the user the opportunity to check product allocation against several product allocation scenarios, before the required quantity is confirmed
4.Define Consumption Periods (OV5Z) The allocation consumption periods functionality is only valid if the allocation method flag has been set (OV1Z). If you have de-selected the method field, this functionality is not available. The consumption window indicates the number of past and future periods to be used in the allocation check.
5.Control Product Allocation (OV4Z) In order for the allocation process to function properly, allocation control records are created primarily to map allocation procedure steps to their corresponding objects so that the allocation data records can be located for validation. Secondly, validity periods must be established to indicate when the allocation control records are active. Finally, the user has the option of establishing a conversion factor per allocation control record to accommodate BOM listings of constrained materials
6.Activate Allocation for Requirement Class (OVZ0) In order to turn on allocation in the standard order processing functionality, the requirements class must have a flag indicating that allocation is relevant.
7.Activate Allocation for Schedule Line Category (OVZ8) In order to turn on allocation in the standard order processing functionality, the schedule line must have a flag indicating that allocation is relevant
8.Create Planning Hierarchy (MC61) In order to adequately establish allocation quantities, the user must initially determine the level at which the allocation is to take place and the aggregation factor of the allocation quantities. In this step, the levels for the collective allocation search procedure are also identified.
9.Generate Masking Character (OV7Z) Upon completion of the level determination for the planning hierarchy, the collective allocation masking character must be generated to allow aggregation indicators to be established. This transaction simply reads the hierarchy established in the planning table and then generates a collective mask character for each level of the hierarchy
10.Modify Planning Hierarchy (MC62) This step is a repeat of MC61 where the initial hierarchy was established. In order to complete the hierarchical set up, the collective allocation (mask character) hierarchy must now be maintained with the appropriate aggregation factors
11.Allocation Procedure Assignment to Material Master (MM02) At the root level of the allocation process are the materials. Each material that is to be considered in allocation scenario must be mapped to an allocation procedure. In order entry, then, when a material is entered with a valid allocation procedure in the material master, the allocation data is verified prior to confirming the line item ordered
12.List of Suitable Structures (OV9Z) This report is used to identify potential LIS information structures that can be used in the product allocation process. This report simply reads through the data dictionary and selects all the active information structures that contain the field product allocation object (KONOB) as the first field. This data can then be utilized in the mapping transaction (OV3Z) to link the allocation procedure step to an information structure (previous step).

How is the forecast profile tied to the article master?

Hello-
I understand how to create a forecast profile, but I assume there is some way to assign that profile to articles or material groups, and I cannot figure that out. If it is assigned, it will show on the article master in the right field, but it cannot be changed or maintained in the article master directly. So, there must be another method to link/assign these outside of the article master.

MM42 data (Article master) Mass change BAPI????????

Is there any BAPI exist which can be used to change MM42 data (Article master).
Like requirement is to do mass change in article, but the MM42 BDC is taking too long to change in all Articles.

Adding custom fields to Article Master (MM41/MM42)

I have a requirement of adding custom fields to Basic data of Article creation in MM41 . I appended the fields to
MARA table using Append structure . I followed the steps given in note 44410 . But i am unable to find an EXIT/BADI
/ENHANCEMENT to populate the values of custom fields which get triggered during MM41/MM42 .
But the Exit EXIT_SAPLMGMU_001 gets triggered only during MM01/MM02 . Kindly guide me to solve this .

Business Requirement:
As per the client Business critical requirements, additional fields are
required in the Article Master. This is because the existing fields in
the Article master are not adequate to capture the data.
We have referred the SAP Note 925424 (Table MAW1) and 44410 (MARA) for
this.
Based on the above note 44410, we have added fields in MARA table,
since Manufacturing
activities are envisaged in future instead of proceeding with 925424.
Whether, MAW1 (925424) also to be considered?
Since this is very critical requirement from client, we cannot avoid
and do not have any
alternate solution.
These fields will be used in reports and pricing in sales &
distribution.
Apart from this, are there any other SAP notes to be referred?
Is there any restrictions there in length for fields to be used in MARA table .
By referring note 44410 , i added 20 fields in MARA table, in which some 4 fields are more than 40 characters .
All custom fields are updated in MM41 and MM42 .
Shall i proceed by this approach .Kindly guide me on this .

BAPI or Function module for Mass article master maintenance (for retail)

I know the BAPI to change Article Master is BAPI_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_RT. Can you please let me know if there is any BAPI which i can use for MASS update of articles instead of calling the above BAPI in a Loop. My purpose is to mass udpate reorder point for many articles.
