Organizer 10 cannot read or display MTS files.

This topic was discussed earlier this year, and the answer at the time was to uninstall/reinstall PSE and AEP. Has Adobe figured out what the problem is? It there an easy method to fix this issue, or is this brute force method the only method to fix this?

Cannot read from the source file or disk

I had to get a new hard drive for my Satellite A665 old one kept freezing up; had a recovey disk from Geek Squad when I got it but they did not work. So I ordered a Recovery Disc set from Toshiba.
A few minutes after I insert the 3nd disc, I get the following message:
Cannot read from the source file or disk

Clicking [Try Again] or [Skip] clicked try again twice. Gave same message so clicked skip. Got another message.

I tried erasing the disk, then running the Recovery Wizard again, but wind up in the same place.

It's hard to know exactly what the problem is. You might want to contact customer support because it could just be a faulty disc.

I cannot read Nikon D600 raw files with CS5, I have tried Camera Raw 6.1 update but that has not worked.

Nikon D 600 will work with ACR 7.3 which needs minimum of PS CS 6 : http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
With PS CS 5, ACR 7.3 will not work.
So either you need to upgrade to CS 6 or use DNG converter to convert images to DNG format which you can open in CS 5

Cannot read Cannon S100 RAW files on Aperture

Aperture cannot read canon S100 RAW files even after the latest update. Cannot install old updates once the latest is installed.
Should i try to reinstall Aperture and download the specific update for the Canon S100? or does the latest update include old ones?

Not sure now the link I posted got changed but here OS X Mavericks: Supported digital camera RAW formats is the correct link.
If you are running the latest software (BTW what version of Aperture are you running?) and still cannot see the raw files from your S100 try opening them in Preview and see if they work there. If they do not work in Preview also then as was written above you probably need to change the settings on the camera.

Organizer 8 terminates when downloading/importing MTS file

I am in Organizer trying to download a video file (MTS) from a memory card. The file shows up for me to select when I do the File > Get Photos & Videos > From Camera or Card Reader. I select it and click done. Then I get the message "Files Successfully Copied" with the message that Organizer will now import the file into the catalog. It asks if I just want to see the catalog entries that were imported. I click Yes. I get a window saying "Getting Media". That window stays up for a few seconds then goes away along with the whole Organizer task.
When I restart Organizer I get a dialog box saying Files Ready for Import. New files have been downloaded and will now be imported. It then asks again if I just want to see catalog entires that were just imported. I say Yes. Again it says Getting Media for a couple of seconds then Organizer again shuts down with no error message.
In order to get out of this "loop" I have to go to the folder where the offending file was downloaded into and delete it. Then when Organizer restarts and tries to again import it, the file isn't there and Organizer displays that in an error message but continues running.
I've reinstalled Photoshop Elements and Premier Elements 8. The file is playable on the camera and other MTS files created around the same time download/import with no problem.
Any suggestions on how to get that MTS file into Organizer?

I was getting lost in the upper ASCII characters you showed. In your test file I never could see any--a case of not seeing the trees for the forest.
Your quote marks are getting dropped in your test file. Now, this may or may not affect other factors but it does in some further testing. I believe ID has an issue with dropping quote marks even in a plain ASCII file if the marks are at the beginning of a sentence and the file is tab delimited. Call it a bug.
Because of all the commas and quote marks in your simple file, I think you should be exporting from Google Docs' spreadsheet as a tab-delimited file. This exported file has to be opened in a text editor capable of saving it out as a UTF-16 BE (Big Endian) type of file.
Also, I think you are going to have to use proper quote marks throughout, or change them in the exported tab-delimited file. Best to have a correct source, though.

Cannot re export avcd / MTS files

Hi when i export avcd / mts files cannot re edit them they flicker so much. i think it maybe something to do with 25.00fps beucase cs6 only exports that frame rate when the source is 50.00fps, i may be wrong. i use sony fs100 and a77. please help some times i trim a long shoot then edit the best bits on my laptop but when i use exported files it flickers toom much.

Don't use those exports for further editing, use only the originals.

After updating I ended up with 4 icons on my desktop - I cannot delete any of them. The error message reads; "Cannot read from the source file or disk".

I updated from the original version to 6.0.1 and when I re-started FF there were 4 icons on my desktop. I managed to delete one of them, but I cannot delete the other two - to leave me with just one.
I get the error message of "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source fie or disk".

Here's the meaning of the error that you received.
"An error has occurred. ERROR :10-FC06-0002" -- may be caused by damaged recovery media or faulty hard drive"
Possible that the problem is on the recovery also.

Mountain Lion won't display .MTS files from camera SD card in the finder

OS Mountain Lion will not show .MTS files from my camera SD card in the finder.
I don't want to play them. I just need to see a list of the files so that I can copy them off the card onto a hard drive. I know how to convert them.
I have a Panasonic High Def video camera that records .MTS files.
I understand how to convert MTS files for editing in Final Cut Pro. It is not a problem. I have been doing this with no problems using OS 10.7.5
I plug in my camera, and the SD card shows up as a hard drive in my finder. I click on the hard drive icon and it opens several folders. DCIM, MISC, PRIVATE.
I click on the PRIVATE folder and subfolders open. I click on the AVCHD folder, and then go down to STREAMING, and there are the MTS files. I select them and import them into BIGASOFT video converter and convert them to .MOV files, which I can edit in FCP.
So that works great in OS 10.7.5
Here is my problem:
On my new MacBook Pro with OS10.8.3 I plug in the camera. It reads the SD card.
I see the folder DCIM and I see the folder MISC. But the PRIVATE folder (where the .MTS files reside) shows up as a QuickTime icon. I click on that, but the MTS files do not show up.
I don’t need to play the MTS files. I don’t need to know how to convert them. I can do that.
I right clicked on the PRIVATE (not folder but QT icon) and selected "show package contents." That gave me another list, with an icon for AVCHD, but when I right clicked again and selected "show package contents" the MTS files would not appear.
I just need to be able to see as a list and copy them on to a hard drive. Why does Apple make this so hard?

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS TO RECOGNIZE AND IMPORT MTS FILES. (No help from Apple.)
After 4 frustrating hours and about 40 useless minutes wasted on Apple Support chat, I figured this out.
Okay, here are the steps to allow Mountain Lion to see your MTS files on a Panasonic camera SD card and import them:
Click on your camera SD card.
RIGHT Click on PRIVATE icon. (This used to be a folder, now it is a Quicktime logo.)
Pull down command for “Show Package Contents”
Click on AVCHD
Pull down command for “Show Package Contents”
Click on BDMV
Pull down command for “Show Package Contents”
Open the folder called STREAM
There are your MTS files. Select them and copy them to a folder on your hard drive.
Purchase some type of video converter (I paid 30 bucks for Bigasoft Converter and it works.)
Import the MTS files into the video converter and set the commands (This is several more steps, which you will have to figure out.) This will take quite a while for large, High Def files.
Save converted files to your hard drive.
NOW, finally FCP X will let you import and edit your files.
Thanks Apple for adding 12 steps where it should take one. “Log and Transfer” or IMPORT. You should fix this.
It took me about 4 hours of frustration to figure this out. Apple support chat service was no help at all. The girl in chat had no understanding of video files.
Thank you Apple, for hiding these files behind your Quicktime logo, thanks for adding extra steps and decreasing productivity. I've been using Macintosh computers since 1987. I would not own a PC, but Apple is not what it used to be. Why would you not just let the .MTS files show without hiding them?

Photoshop Elements 12 Cannot Read Sony A7Mk2 ARW File

My Photoshop Elements 12 (v12.1) program cannot read raw riles from a Sony A7Mk2 ILCE-7M2. I have updated to the latest Adobe Camera Raw Plug-In (8.5.0.236) which purportedly supports this camera's raw files but it does not.
The error received is "Could not complete you request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw."
I tried all the troubleshooting steps on Adobe's help pages including uninstalling and reinstalling the Adobe software.
One possible reason for the problem: On the page listing supported cameras, Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras, the A7Mk2 appears to be listed as "Sony ILCE-A7M2" which appears to be a mistake as the correct model is "Sony ILCE-7M2" (i.e. no "A").
Very frustrating given that I bought Elements for this specific purpose!
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Given the amount of pictures I take, converting to DNG isn't really an viable option.

I believe the said Sony A7Mk2 ILCE-7M2 (adobe calls it Sony ILCE-A7M2) needs at least camera raw 8.7.1, so you can either use the 8.8 adobe dng converter or upgrade to pse 13, which would open those files directly without the need of the dng converter.
(you would need to to use Help>Updates in the pse 13 editor to get the camera raw 8.7.1 plugin)

How do I restore IE to use Reader for displaying PDF files?

When I updated PDF Creator, it also updated PDF Architect which went and installed itself in IE as the PDF reader. How do I change IE back to using Reader for displaying PDFs?
In IE, I disabled the "PDF Architect Internet Explorer Previewer" under "Manage Addons". Now, IE doesn't display PDFs at all. I also looked in Change PC Settings | Search and Apps | Defaults and Reader is still the
listed as the default app for .PDF files.
The version of Windows on this machine is Windows 8.1 with IE 11.

Cannot read canon 1DC raw files on CS5.1

any body know how i can get the canon 1DC camera to work on CS5.1? I can view the jpgs but not the raw files. Can any one help?

Photoshop cannot read my LR EDITED files

In LR (3.6) I save all my edits in an XMP file. When I open the photo in Photoshop, it opens the original file, without any trace of my edits. Is there any particular way I must save the edits in LR in order for Photoshop to be able to read them? Many thanks in advance to anybody who can come up with the answer

Regardless if you save your LR edits to XMP or not, PS will open the file with LR edits visible if you select <Edit a copy with Lightroom adjustments>. If you select <Edit original> your edits will not be visible in PS.
Saving to XMP has nothing to do with it and is not necessary for opening an image from LR into PS. Saving to XMP will do only one thing: It makes it possible that other Adobe programs (such as Bridge) will be able to read and display the LR edits. Apart from that not everything that you do in LR will be saved to XMP; Collections, Stacking for instance are saved in the LR catalog only.

I cannot read Greek emails or files from Office

I receive emails in Greek and Mail cannot read them. The same thing happens with files in Office.

For some reason the app or service sending you the email encoded it as iso-8859-1, which is only good for Latin, never Greek. The content was destroyed by that, there is nothing you can do at your end. Any fix has to be done at the other end.
For office problems, it is probably best to search/ask in the forums devoted to that stuff

After Effects stopped reading audio from .mts files

So a long time ago I used to work fine with .mts files. but the other day I shot some footage with a Canon vixia HF S100 camera and when I imported it to After Effects CS6 it doesnt import it with the audio, only video. I checked out the levels and does not appear anything. Also in the top left corner when you select an imported footage it kinda tells you the description of it and it doesn't say anything about audio.
(doesn't happen with other kind of files though, everything else plays audio and video normally)
any idea what could have happened?

Either you changed the recording settings on the camera or, which is more likely, you screwed up the CoDecs on your system or something with your audio hardware. Uninstall any CoDec packs, reinstall AE, check your audio prefs in AE and on the system...

How do I run Adobe Reader to display pdf files in Windows 8?

I'm confused! Where is the executable for adobe pdf reader in windows 8? I want to launch it from powershell to display a pdf file. It used to be trivial in windows 7 but now the adobe pdf reader is an app and I cannot find the executable using the task
manager.
Can someone help me launch it from cmd.exe or powershell_ise to display a pdf file?
I just downloaded and installed the Adobe PDF reader and I cannot execute the reader c:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe. I get no error messages and no GUI display. What is going on?

Hi,
As far as I know, that Windows 8 has a reader by default, it seems like it is Microsoft Reader. It could used to read PDF file. And I have not ever use powershell to manage to use it.
The PDF reader is a Modern UI app; we cannot run Modern UI apps on the desktop. So I don't think powershell could manage it.
