Organizer crashes after several seconds of "Generating Thumbnails"

While using PSE 9 and now PSE 10 the Organizer will load some photos while indicating at the bottom of the screen that it is "Generating Thumbnails". Several seconds later the whole program just closes. So frustrating! I have about 20,000 photos and videos that are all tagged. I thought if I bought PSE 10 that the problem would go away but it did not. I am running Windows Vista. Any body have a solution? Does the solution involve starting from scratch with tagging photos? That would be so disappointing. I have tried "Repairing" and "Optimizing" the catalog.

In .../adobe/elements organizer/catalogs/transport there is the following:

AA8 is not certified for Win7, and particularly the 64-bit version. Several folks have been successful on the install on 32-bit systems. I have heard of 2 folks who claimed success on the 64-bit system. To have a change, first check to be sure you have Acrobat, Distiller, and the Adobe PDF printer on your system. Since Acrobat is not opening, go to http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows and download the updates (start with the latest and work backwards. Each update screen will tell you the previous one needed for the update (you may be able to skip 2 or so). Once done start the updates from the bottom up. You should do the updates through 8.3.1. Generally speaking you only need to do a reboot after the final update installed, not for all the updates.
The updates are definitely required for the 64-bit system and may be the issue you are having. There is no way to be sure if the install will work, only the comments by others that have tried.
During the installs and updates, be sure you are logged in as the adminstrator and have anti-virus disabled.

Photoshop CS6 crash after few seconds after upgrading to 13.0.4.28

Hello,
I've updated my photoshop CS6 to the latest version (13.0.4.28). Now, i can't use anymore photoshop. It crashes after 10 seconds. Maybe, if i'm lucky i can use it for a minute.

Delete the problem song(s) from library including file(s). Then go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Select Music tab to re-download again for free.

After upgrade to 2014.2 - unusable, crashes after 30 seconds

Hi, I am new to this forum. I've bought a year plan with premiere cc2014.
And I am shocked how often this most recent update (2014.2) is crashing after 30 seconds of editing. When I close program monitor, it does not crash, so I assume it has something to do with mercury playback. It is indeed unusable. I've downgraded to cc2014.1 and it seems to work perfectly.
But what is the point of paying the cash for most recent software?
I also use cineform material, editing in realtime in 4k resolution, including realtime grading with direct link to speedgrade. It is all possible in 2014.1 with no crashes.
But, actually - is there any new feature in 2014.2 that is worth the frustration for?
Right now I am staying with 2014.1
My system specs:
intel i7 3930k on ASUS P97 motherboard
48GB ram
4k LG TV as a timeline panel & full hd NEC monitor as program monitor.
2x gtx780 gigabyte cuda cards (1.5 GB ram each)
4 x ssd from intel, samsung and adata.
3 x 4TB hdd from seagate and western digital.
ssd used for scratch and preview disk.
I dont know how to extract exact data about error - there is no option for this after crash. It says only "program stopped working" and thats all.

Yup, 5.2.0.61097 broke my Memo also. "Skype has stopped working"
So I went to my Dell Venue Android device which has been sitting unused for a month.
Before I could stop it, i also auto updated and it too broke.
So i went and downloaded a previous version from http://skype.en.uptodown.com/android.
I uninstall the newest version from both tablets and installed 5.1.0.58677.
Everything is working just fine again. Maybe Skype should roll out an auto downdate
Don't forget to turn off auto updates in the PlayStore app and in Security check
" allow unknown sources" so that you can install the .apk you just downloaded.

I face same problem, after creating Adobe ID and after installing Creative Cloud app, the installed Ps and Lr can't be launched... Lr at all, no action, but Ps works for a few seconds. I could achieve "system info" from help menu as follows:

Can you also try disabling hardware acceleration to see if that fixes your problem? You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:

#Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
#In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
#From that explorer window, double-click on the ''Mozilla'' folder, then double-click on ''Firefox'' and then on ''Crash reports''. Double-click on ''submitted''.
#Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to ''View'' > ''Arrange Icons by'' > ''Modified'' to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
#Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.

Don't use it. The app has been a buggy mess for months. I access facebook via safari.
Or look for a third party app that works.
THe burden is on facebook to make an app that works, not on Apple to fix facebook's issues.

Videos crash after 2 seconds (and other issues)

I own a HP Pavilion DV6 6180ep and I'm experiencing a few problems while running Windows 8.1 .
- sometimes when I receive windows notifications (the ones on the upper right corner), the computer freezes (I can't click on the notification) and the sound crashes too, and only after 20/30 seconds everything starts working properly. When this happens, in the moment that everything comes back to normal, sometimes I hear a lot of windows sounds at the same time.
- videos in general crash after 2 seconds of playing (on every platform: youtube, facebook, VLC player, ...). I have to wait 20/30 seconds and everything comes back to normal again.
These are minor issues but after some time it's very annoying. I've been asking some people with similar laptops and many of them complain about these issues too.

Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that you are having some graphics issues with your Pavilion after upgrading to Windows 8.1. The reason you are having problems is that there are no specific drivers for Windows 8 or 8.1 for this model. Your Pavilion also has switchable graphics which means you have two video cards. The drivers for these cards have be to configured the manufacturer of the notebook so you can't use a driver from AMD.
Your best bet is to use a set of recovery discs and go back to Windows 7.

Firefox crashes after 10 seconds; same in safe mode

Tried opening firefox, it crashed after 10 seconds regardless of which website I opened (this includes Firefox preferences). Same goes for safe mode. Tried updating to most recent version, uninstalling, and reinstalling and same thing occurs. Tried dragging preferences file to desktop to create a new one and nothing changed.

Uninstalled 10.0.1, installed 10.0.2 and tried to 'Launch Firefox' directly from install. Crash. Tried to open in safe mode. Crash.
Tried to retrieve crash report ID, Windows Search tells me nothing matches
"%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\submitted" when I search it.
Otherwise I would have provided that information.

Hold down your Shift key while launching the Organizer. This would open up the Catalog Manager. Highlight your catalog at the bottom of the window, and choose "Repair" and then "Optimize".
If that doesn't solve it, from the Catalog Manager, try creating a new catalog.
If Organizer still fails to launch, try following steps –
For Win
Delete the Organizer preferences. (Organizer preferences are located at %appdata%/Adobe/Elements Organizer/11.0/Organizer). Delete the "status.dat" and "psa.prf" file from this folder.
Navigate to folder on your machine where application is installed. Right click "PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe" and run it as Administrator.
For Mac
Delete the Organizer preferences [Organizer preferences are located at //Users/[Your User Account]/Library/Preferences/]
Delete the file “com.Adobe.Elements Organizer.11.0.plist” from above location and relaunch the Organizer.

Extension Manager 5.5 crashing after one second

Extension Manager 5.5 crashes after one second. I need to create a barcode for indesign; bought software that says you can create it directly in InDesign. But I can't open the .xzp file. It opens the Extension Manager which instantly crashes with the message "Extension Manager quit unexpectedly." I've tried it many times. I tried re-intalling AdobeExtensionManager5.5All.dmg,but when I click on the "install" icon, I get, “Install.app” can’t be opened. You should eject the disk image."
I'm stuck in an endless loop. Please help, I have a deadline due today. I'm running 10.8.5.

You have to update Extension Manager CS5.5 to 5.5.3. You can get the 5.5.3 patch from http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_updates/.

Appel Mail still Crashing after several measures

Mac Book Pro unibloc 2.8 Ghz 10.5.8 Mail 3.6; 4 IMAP accounts
During downlaoding messages Mail was regularly crashing. As drastical measure I
- replaced the whole mail folder from a TimeMachine backup
- replaced the whole prefs folder
- deleted the envelope index
Mail did then rebuild the index, fetched missing mails and seemed to work. After a restart Mail is again crashing. In the activity window one can see all the blue white pattern in the progress bar freezing after a while and after some seconds mail crahes.
What else can I do?

Undo whatever you did with the icon, and unload/remove all the non-Mac plugins, enhancers, bundles or whatever.

ITunes crashes after 5 Seconds.

I have some serious Problems with my Power PC G5. I had updated my iTunes to Version 7.0 . After the Update, my iTunes has started a scan. After a few songs he crashed. I asked in another forum and they said I should :
-Rename the "iTunes" folder in "Music"-Folder.
-Start iTunes, and then go to Options and turn off the Gapless Playback Option.
-Then I had to rename the "backup" folder back to "iTunes"
But then, I restarted iTunes. After 3 Seconds it crashes with the Rainbow-Color Mouse. I can`t do anything at all against it.
So, what is my problem ? Should I reinstall iTunes, when yes, how ?

When it crashes is it doing something (looking for album art/gapless playback) or is just doing nothing? Either way I'd open iTunes and leave it on overnight even if it looks frozen (beach ball) it'll most likely continue after a few hours, at least that's been my experience.
