Organizer folder view doesn't show pictures

All of my pictures on my computer have been imported into Organizer (PSE 9). When I choose the display option of "Folder location," and click on one folder, sometimes the pictures show and sometimes they don't. And some of the pictures show and some don't. Most of the folders show no pictures. Right now I want to edit a picture but I cannot get to it in Organizer because in the folder it's in, only 3 of maybe 20 pictures show and it is not one of them. Many pictures show in Windows(7) Explorer that have never shown in Organizer.

Have you imported the files in Organizer. If not then right click on the desired folder shown on the left hand side in Folder View. Choose the third option which says 'Import to Organizer' to import and view all of the folder's files in Organizer.
If I have understood the problem incorrectly and you have already imported those files to Organizer then try this : Switch to thumbnail view for a while. Search and select the file you want to work on. While the file is still selected in thumbnail view, choose to switch to Folder View to verify if the file is still not shown in Folder View ?

Mavericks's Messages doesn't show picture instead it's a file to download

Hi Everyone,
I installed Mavericks and now Messages app doesn't show pictures messages from senders, but it's a file to download. I still see the picture I sent out but not pictures coming in. I didn't have that issue with Mountain Lion. Can someone please help? Thanks in advance.

Messages 8 in Mavericks seems to handle pictures differently thnan Messages 7.x.x (Mountain Lion) and the iChat versions before that.
It seems it is now a function to "syphon" off pics to an Attachment folder and show only the spyglass item in the Conversations (iMessages) or Chats (buddies) to "recall them causing them to open in Preview.
It seems this will happen at different points time wise but has some relationship to how far the pic may have disappeared "up" the Chat.
This chat with "myself" spread over an AIM and an iMessages chat with my iPhone shows older item I sent not being displayed but one between Christmas and New Year still shows.
If I have the top hat pic on the left that is from my iPhone using the iPhone number.
Some are just the sync coming back which then show the Sig pic of the Mac Send of the iMessage.
I did have an issue where new Pics sent from the iPhone were going to the Downloads folder and not showing in the Chat window at all.
Nor could I iMessages the iPhone.
I could select the iPhone Number to send it too but as soon as I hit the enter key the Conversation seems to completely disappear and nothing was sent.
I deleted com.apple.ichat.plist for ~/Library/Preferences
Open the Finder > Go Menu > Go to Folder and enter that path in the dialogue box.
find the file and Drag it to the Trash.
Restart the app.

I have been using Lightroom 5 for 2-3 months now and all worked well, up until today's effort to import a new set of photos. I am working on a Mac with Yosemite 10.10.1.

Go to the bibliothec module, select the folder, right click on the folder and hit synchronize

Quick-time film doesn't show picture, sound only!

Repeatedly quick-time film doesn't show picture, sound only! This happened after an update some time ago. The current version is 7.7 PRO under MAc OS 10.5.8. Very annoying...!!!!!!

Use the Movie Inspector window to tell us more about one of these files.

PSE9 Organizer Folder View Settings

Does anyone know how the Oranizer is storing your hard drive's folder structure that you see in the left panel when in Folder Location display? Mine has become corrupted after I moved to a new Computer. My Catalog and image files are still on the original externally mapped drive. I'm pretty sure it's stored in the catalog because if I creaate a new catalog it has the folder contents correct. I've tried Repair, Optimize and Reconnect but it didn't fix anything.
Even stranger is I see 4 different indications for the location of a file when it's selected.
1. Hover over a folder and the popup displays the path of the folder. This is correct. Select this folder.
2. The thumbnails displayed in the center panel are not actually in the selected folder.
3. The folder path displayed above the center panel is incorrect and not the same as 1 or 2 above.
4. The folder path displayed in the file's properties is correctly showing where the file is.
If it isn't possible to hack a fix in some external Oraginzer config file then is there a way to create a new catalog and then import your image files with all the tagging and Albums from the original Catalog?
All my image files are stored in one location so it's easy to find them. My workflow is to input files to my PC into the My Documents folder path that have the Watched folders. I then perform all the necessary tagging and finally do a Organinzer Move to the final storage location on a 2nd hard drive.

Selected folder is; C:\Users\dommerpw\Pictures\Eye-Fi
Center panel title bar is showing: C:\Users\dommerpw\Pictures\HDR
There's only one thumbnail image displayed. Selecting the thumbnail and file properties shows; C:\Users\dommerpw\Pictures\from Phone\. This is the true physical location of the file.
Looking with Windows Explorer the C:\Users\dommerpw\Pictures\Eye-Fi folder actually has 16 files in it not just 1.
The external drive is mapped to the same drive letter as on the old computer. In Thumbnail View all of the files are displayed and available at there actual location. I've looked in the catalog database file with Visual Studio and all of the files listed in the media table are correctly cataloged with their physical location. The volume table is also correct with the records in it. It's only when the Organizer is in Folder Location mode that there's this corruption.
I can't figure out where or how the Organizer is discovering the folder hierarchy. It doesn't appear to use the databse file because that looks correct. And it doesn't appear to be using an interface to Windows to discover it in real time. It has to be something that the Oraginizer calculates at some time. Keep in mind if I create a new catalog and then Get The Photos in c:\Users\dommerpw|\Pictures it correctly shows what files are in what folder.

Dreamweaver design view doesn't show the bottom part of a long div

I'm doing a very graphics oriented site, which basically requires me to use a large jpg as a background image and placing text areas against this background using absolute positioning.
My problem is that Dreamweaver doesn't show me the bottom part of my content div's background, but renders it as black instead. This obviously makes placing the text areas correctly difficult, since I can't see them against the background.
If I turn on Live view, then Dreamweaver shows the bottom part correctly. But in live view I can't use rulers and guides (or can I?).
Is there any setting that I can change so that Dreamweaver is showing me the whole div bg in all situations? One possible cause of this problem might be also that I'm using overflow:scroll on my content. Could that be why Dreamweaver hides the bottom part and can I change that behaviour?

If we can see the page in question we could probably do this a lot easier. But all you need to do in your CSS for the background is:
background: url(pathto/image.jpg) fixed no-repeat;
If you are trying to absolutely position something in the middle you will be unable to do this without the assistance of javascript to determine the useable pixels on the end-users computer. Horiztonally is not the issue, but rather vertically because you can achieve horizontal centering by defining a width and setting the margin: 0 auto; in your CSS.
As far as working with overflows, if there is too much content in them that you believe the overflow will be necessary (assuming min/max-widths are set) you could consider including the content from another document or store it in a database and query the information out. Then it would make it easier for the client to update the content on their own in the future.

Mandatory Variable set in a view doesn't show in Web template ?

Hi Experts,
I have a mandatory user-input variable in my query. I build a view based on the query. When I opened the query analyzer I had to select a value for my variable since it is mandatory. I did so and built my view. I based my BI web template on my view. When i execute the template the variable screen doesn't show, the value of my variable is the one I entered when I built the view and there is no way i can change this value from the Web template. Is this expected behaviour ? If so how can i build a view when i have a mandatory variable withoit setting its value in the analyzer ? The user has to set it later in the BI template.

Actually the variable has a default value which is defined in a function. This default can be overriden. The problem is that when defining the view you need to specify a value or leave the default. In any case in Web Template you are not given the option of changing whatever you put in the query analyzer. i am puzzled how this could happen.

Compiling a view doesn't show errors

Hello,
Compiling a PL/SQL procedure shows compilation errors correctly, but compiling a view says "view compiled" without reporting the errors. It seems the only way to see the errors is to do select * from user_errors afterwards. Or is there a setting somewhere?
It's also slightly odd that it asks for confirmation before compiling the view, whereas PL/SQL compilation does it right away. I'd prefer the latter.
I'm using version 1.5.1 on Linux (Ubuntu).

How are you compiling your view? The only place I can remember being given feedback on view errors is when running a create or replace view command as a script (not as a statement). Apart from that, selecting from user_errors is the only way that I know to report on view errors - even "show errors view <viewname>" doesn't work.

PSE8 Organize Folder View Missing Files

I have some JPG files in my catalog and hard drive that don't show up in the Organizer when I'm viewing by Folder Location and have the folder where they are located selected in the folder tree. If I change Preferences to view all files grouped by folder then the JPG files show up under the correct folder. If I switch to thumbnail view and then search for the files by their name they are found and the path indicated by their properties is correct. I tried to re-add the JPG files to the catalog but it knows they already are there so they weren't added.
The last thing to try would be to delete them from the catalog and add them in again. I thought I'd raise the question first in case there is some other process to use. I'm not sure how many other JPG files have this same issue since I just stumbled on this in the first place.

Folder Location view in PSE 6, 7, and 8 is buggy and often shows the wrong contents of folders:

Deleting and reimporting the "missing" photos won't help. Adobe doesn't care enough about this bug to fix it.

Windows Live doesn't show pictures of contacts

Hi,
Since a few weeks I have troubles with Windows Live Messenger.
I have a Nokia N73 with firmware version 4.0812.4.2.1.
I had the latest version of WLM (1.1.9000) but then the whole contact list didn't show up. Also the Windows Live didn't came up. During the installation, at the synchronizing of my contact list, it stayed at 10 %. After a while it was ready.
Then I installed version 1.0.6141 and now the contact list is back, but the pictures of the contacts aren't shown (even my own picture is not shown).
Anyone suggestions what I should do to get back the pictures of my contacts?

It may be a problem of Windows 7 Explorer. First you can try all the different explorer views, title, Large icon..
If there is no effect, you can try to the following methods.
In Windows Explorer
1. left click on the mail folder where your music is stored and select it.
2. Now right click and go to “properties”.
3. Now click “advanced”.
4. Put a check in the “Allow files in this folder to have contents indexed in addition to file properties”.
5.Click ”OK”.
6.Click”Apply”.
7. Click “OK” to apply changes to this folder. Sub folders and files.
Now go to your music library and see if it works.

ICal in Day view doesn't show hours, but Days for the hours?

Ok, so I have been trying to figure this out but I cannot find the answer. In iCal, I cannot change the hour of a new event. It only allows me to change the min. So I went into the Day view to try and move the events to the correct hours and all it shows is Midnight, Saturday over and over (where the hours should be) and then Noon and then Saturday over and over again. I have no idea why it does this and have searched through the settings and cannot figure it out. Can anyone help me?

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
First of all try refreshing the com.apple.iCal.plist file. You will find the com.apple.iCal.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. Quit iCal, drag the .plist file to your Desktop, log out/in or restart and check iCal for normal behavior.
If that is unsuccessful, open System Preferences...>Language & Text>Formats, and choose, or change the appropriate region. Then check/change the "Times" formats that you are using.

Music in itunes music folder that doesn't show in tunes?

I have downloaded music and put it in my itunes music folder, but it doesn't automatically show in itunes application until I double click the selected track whilst in the itunes music folder. Is it possible to have the itunes automatically display all music when it is put into the itunes music folder?

How do I delete a Gmail folder which doesn't show in the Subscribe list?

I have a folder in my Gmail Inbox which I can't delete using either Delete, and which isn't showing up in the Subscribe list. How do I delete it? It doesn't exist in my online Gmail account. I get an error message that the Gmail server can't delete an 'unknown source folder'.

Correction: the folder I can't delete is in my Tbird Inbox.

Month view doesn't show

day and week view are fine, selecting month view and the window disappears. Has been working fine - though I did run system optimise recently...

This is the same problem I have with my iCal. I open iCal and the week and day views come up fine, but as soon as I click on the month view tab, iCal closes the viewer. It doesn't crash the entire program, but the month display does not show up and I love having this option. I have spent some time reading through previous threads, but they do not appear to apply to my situation, unless I am missing something.
Can someone please suggest anything that would help?
Are there conflicting version of iCal after an upgrade?
Where do I look for this on my Mac OS X 10.3.9?

Month view doesn't show all events

Dear friends
Something strange started to happen with my iCal.
When I choose month view no events are shown at all.
They are all there because tehy´re shown both in week and day views.
Any clue?

I have something very similar going on around on two machines used by colleagues.
One is a PowerPC G5 desktop and the other is an Intel MBP.
Weirdly enough, the events don't show only in october (month view), which is the current one.
We have found that by clicking one of the forward / back buttons you can see the next and previous months correctly, AND if you get back to october everything shows up again.
So there seems to be something wrong with the UI or sorta thing.
Both machines are up-to-date (10.4.10). Mac OS is set to run in US English.
Anyone? Help?
