Organizer for PE8 updating photos on it's own?

I was a bit alarmed this evening to notice that my 5+ years of photos stored on my NAS drive suddenly have had their "date created" and "date modified" time stamps set to the dates from the past 10 days or so.  The first thing that jumped into my mind is that I installed PE8 on my laptop and my wife's laptop around that time and set up the Organizer to point to these files.  (This is on a Windows 7 system and my wife's Vista system.)
So, is Organizer somehow scanning through my library of photos and making updates?  In the few cases I checked the file sizes were also slightly different, as though Organizer is resaving all my photos?  Obviously, I don't want PE8 or Organizer touching the photo files unless I tell it to (by editing the files).  Any ideas as to what is going on appreciated.

Bingo Barbara - that is apparently the problem.
I did a search on "organizer auto-analyzer modifying files" and found these gems of wisdom:
http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52659
http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshop-elements-faq.htm#_Problems_with_the
I'm more than a little torqued that Adobe enabled this "feature" by default; now I have to restore my photo library from a backup making sure not to lose any files (and losing quite a few edits that I have made recently).

  • Photo manager/organizer for Photoshop?

Does Photoshop (current version) come with an Organizer for managing photos?  Photoshop Element has the built in Organizer (or program). Or is Lightroom considered the organizer for Photoshop and must be purchased separately.  From other forums I have read, I believe I understand the differences between Lightroom and PSE for editing (especially for raw images).   I just do not understand is Photoshop has any type of organizing, tagging, etc. software built in?
    Thank you... Patrick

The whole issue of “digital asset management” is pretty complicated.  The needs of consumers, prosumers, and professionals vary greatly, and it’s pretty clear that no one program or class of programs currently available in the market is sufficient.  If you search for “digital asset management”, you’ll get a pretty good feel for the issue.
Most users of Photoshop Elements want it primarily for the Editor, not the Organizer.  The Organizer has a tangled history, and since PSE 6, Adobe has greatly ramped back development, and its quality is now so bad that I can’t recommend it to anyone. Free or inexpensive products like Picasa, Windows Live Photo Gallery,  or iPhoto are easier to use and faster and better meet the needs of many PSE users.
With respect to Photoshop, its users have such different workflows that no single product or class of product could meet everyone’s needs.  Many Photoshop users find Bridge useful, but I’d guess that many more don’t go near Bridge.

  • In PSE will I use more hard-disk space by using iPhoto plus Organizer for photos?

I have PSE 10 on my MAC. I normally download my photos onto iPhoto (and a while ago, onto Bridge CS3 which came with an earlier version of PSE) but more recently have become interested in using the PSE Organizer for my photo library.  I have started to transfer/copy the photos from iPhoto but, having read various topics on organizing photos, am a little worried that by having the photos in 2/3 places on the MAC I will use much more hard-disk space.  I know that the original files for iPhoto are in the 'Library' so that I just see thumbnails on iPhoto ( I may be wrong here?), but will the photos I now have on Organizer be working off those same 'Library' originals or am I doubling up on the space required to store these photos?

For information my iPhoto is v 9.5.1 and would seem not to like .dng files so won't load them (I am using the Adobe RAW to DNG 8.3 Converter at the moment mainly because I would have to upgrade to PSE12 to get the RAW plug-in to process my Lumix G-6 RAW files, which is fairly expensive and, even then, my iPhoto would still be the same version unless I upgraded that as well!).
I can load the RAW files onto iPhoto but when I then send them to PSE or iPhoto itself for editing they seem to be automatically converted to .jpg and do not have the usual RAW editing selection palette. However, the PSE Organizer seems happy to accept the .dng files (but not the RAW files) and when sent to PSE for editing I do get the RAW type palette, so it looks like storing my .dng files in Organizer is a good idea and, therfore, I might as well store other photos there as well rather than run two different organizers - I will leave the photos in Bridge as they are.
If you are talking about photos not in iphoto, this is correct. If you use "from iPhoto" you will get automatic duplicates of the originals in a new location. If you export them manually and use from files and folders, yes, the organizer just makes a thumbnail.
This paragraph made me think!  I'm pretty sure that when I decided to transfer my photos from iPhoto into PSE Organizer I used "from iPhoto" as this seemed the easiest way.  Does this mean that I have duplicated the file size of my iPhoto library and am therefore using much more hard-disc space than if I had used "from files and folders" (getting just thumbnails)? The transfer seems to have pulled in a lot of folders! If this is the case, is there any way to go back and do it again but "from files and folders" next time?!
This is all rather complicated it would seem (or I'm making it that way!) and I really appreciate your help.

  • I have purchased additional iCloud space.  It shows I still have space, however my iPad mini shows I don't have enough space for the update for ios7.  My photos are in the cloud, I guess,  so why don't I have enough space?

If I delete photos on my iPad mini, can I still see them in iCloud storage?  How do I free up more space on my iPad  without removing photos?

If you delete photos from your iPad, they will also be deleted from iCloud and you'll lose them.  Also, having additional iCloud space won't give you any more space on your device.   You can't move any data to iCloud and delete it from your device.  All you iCloud data is also on you device, and if you delete it from your device, it is also deleted from iCloud.
One option to free up space for the update is to delete the music from your iPad, then sync it back using iTunes after you update.   (You can delete it all by going to Settings>General>Usage, wait for the apps list to open, then tap Music>Edit, then tap next to All Music.)
Also, if you purchsed the iCloud storage upgrade in the last 15 days thinking you chould use it to free up space on your iPad, you can call the Apple online store for your country and get a refund (1-800-MY-APPLE in the U.S. and Canada.)

  • Is there an ORGANIZER for my photos which I can seperatly store on an external harddrive?

Is there an ORGANIZER for my photos which I can separately store on an external hard drive?
    ? portable photo organizer

    ayanda2014 a écrit:
Okay, this is it. I only need the organizer and catalogue (as a kind of archive) separately. I do not want to work with and shop the pictures. Just want to store and find the pics.
I hope you understand what is in the catalog. Pardon me if you already know, but other readers might be misled by this discussion.
A catalog is just like the catalog booklet which holds all the information about the paintings in a museum. A list of all the paintings, their location in the museum, their size, their authors and some history. Plus small images (thumbnails) to show the image and many indexes, by title, author or painting type.
The catalog does not contain the images, only useful information to find paintings and know what is useful about them.
The catalog can be moved: you can take it at home with you. The informations are still valid when you move the catalog.
With the organizer (it's the same with Ligthtroom), you can move or copy the catalog, which is a folder containing the database and associated files and subfolders.
To use the Elements catalog outside of your main computer, you need another computer with a copy of the same Elements program. The catalog itself on an external drive is just a kind of backup, but it can't be read. So you can store a copy on an external drive, but to open the catalog you need Elements. Imagine you plug in the catalog external drive from another computer. Without a copy of the picture files, only the information and thumbnails can be seen. You can do various organization tasks like adding tags, creating albums, rating, adding notes.
If that is what you want to do and you can plug in the external drive on another computer with Elements, that's fine (you can have two copies of Elements 'signed in' at the same time).

  • Is there a way to import ONLY videos into PE8, not photos?

I have a million photos I never intend to use in a Premiere Elements 8 production. Using the PE8 "Organizer," is there a way to import ONLY videos into PE8, not photos?

I do not use Organizer, so may be missing something, but I would guess that one could Sort By, and choose File Type. Remember, Organizer is for the system, and does not reflect what is Imported for use in a Project - two different things. In lieu of Organizer, I use Adobe Bridge, installed with some of my other Adobe programs.
I would also assume that Organizer does things via folders. If one does not have any aspect set to auto, I would think that it would ONLY do thumbnails for certain folders, as directed. If one has their stills in other folders, then only AV Assets would be seen by Organizer.
Maybe some Organizer guru will have better directions for you. I am just thinking here and speculating.
    Good luck,

  • Cisco Jabber for Windows User Photos

    CUPS 8.6.3
Jabber Client for Windows Version 9.0.1 Build 8802
I noticed that the Cisco Jabber for Windows Client does not automatically update with the photos that updated in Active Directory.
I had updated a user's photo in AD and noticed that it would not change. I browsed to "C:\Users\<user name>\App Data\Local\Cisco\Unified Communications\Jabber\CSF\Photos" and had to manually delete the user photos in this folder. I exited out of the Jabber Client and restarted the program. When I did this, the Jabber Client crashed, I saved the crash report, and re-opend the Jabber client. This time the client opened properly, and the updated photos were now appearing!
Seems like Cisco would not have set the photos to Cache to the local computer....
    Any thoughts?

  • Can I over-ride the default setting in Organizer to allow sorting photos by filename ?

I am converting slides from the 1970's and 80's to digital files and using PSE 8 to Organize them but it is important to me that they stay in the order of the file name I give them and NOT "Date: newest first or last" because it would seem that PSE, in the absence of metafile information, uses the date and time I uploaded the file to the Organizer as the "Date:".  ACDSee has a much more sensible arrangement in giving me full control of how my photos are sorted.  I am being driven to using ACDSee as the organizer and PSE as the photo editor, a not very convenient arrangement.  So my question is, "Can I over-ride the default setting in Organizer to allow sorting photos by filename ?"

The type of file system that you're trying to set up, is actually done better by creating you own file heirarchy in Windows, and then viewing by import batch.  For example; you might create a top level folder "My Slide Scans", then perhaps, "My son John". So, the scans of john all go in the same folder, you import the folder in one batch, and you're where you want to be.
That said, PSE will fight you at every turn to do this, since with the scanner hooked up with PSE, PSE is going to want to store your photos in "scanned photos" and import them as you scan them.
I woud suggest this.  After the scan and import, use PSE to move the photos to their final destination folder, say " Hawaii 1994", and create a tag of the same name". Then when you're done scanning photos of this event, use the tag to view all the scans at once. Then, delete all the photos from the organizer. (Yeah, sounds radical I know). Take heart! All you've gotta do then is to reimport the whole folder. All the same name photos will be in one import batch. And with all the photos of any given topic in one folder, you'll be able to also use Windows Explorer in any number of modes to view the photos outside PSE.
Keep in mind you can rename batchs of photos by selecting them, or by import batch or even tag, then "Ctrl. > Shift > N" will bring up the name change dialog box.
This technique is quite contensious, but, it makes a whole lot more sense than storing all your photos in the "My Photos" folder on the "C:/" drive where any viral or malware hiccup might cause the necessity of a reformat, which could cause the loss of years of work.
If a name search is a priority, that would be "Ctrl ."Shift" > "K" then type in whatever your heart desires.
Caution: Before attempting a delete/ reimport manuver, Alway, always, write the tag and file info to the photo. "File" >"Write Tag and Properties Info to File".
I always am quite adamantine about suggesting that you do NOT use the same physical HDD that contains Windows to store your photos, that's just asking for trouble. HDDs are quite cheap nowadays, and they're worth every penny in piece of mind. Plus to use a storage ("Volume") drive, you have to create your own file heirarchy anyway, so that leads right back to the beginning of this discussion.

  • My Wishlist for WebOs Update 1.4.5 - ALL REASONABLE AND Somewhat EASY.

I just bought a Palm Pre and I love it far more than any windows or blackberry phone I ever had and far more than my old iphone. Its also, in my opinion, more of a draw for me than the android is.
And I am sure that even though I am posting this, many users have mentioned this and Palm is aware. But I figure I could voice my opinion and hopefully make these things more of a reality than not. Now basically the options I added would help me to work better with my Pre. But there are some items that just need to be there which are in almost all smartphones these days. I put two ** next to those items. The other stuff would just make my life easier as well as other peoples lives and would put the pre ahead of the competition. I know most of these can be used by adding patches. But its a hassle to have to add them and then remove them everytime an update comes along. So for now, I say go ahead with the planned 1.4.1 WebOS update. But I do think that by 1.4.5, it should have these features.
    So here goes:
    Contacts:
    *Support for LDAP Syncing
    *More than one photo
    *Add  videos of the person
    **Categories
**Better search including the ability to search for categories or in general even in the notes.
*An option to link Contacts to their spouses and children.
**Add more options for anniversaries and dates and such and have it show up on the calendar automatically.
*Ability to add a different video and or photo to each type of phone number.
**Ability to Jump to a letter or category.
**A sorting feature to sort by companies, phone number, last name, first name, address, etc....
*Ability to add a middle name as well as a Maiden Name.
*Ability to add more than one note and child.
    Calls:
*Ability to customize what details are shown on the call screen, such as what phone number they are calling from, multiple photos or even a video of the person.
**Ability to see Received calls, missed calls, placed calls along with a duration and timestamp. (I know some of these are there already).
*Add a fast dialing system for the first digits 1 through 0. Basically you can assign a number to speed dial. Holding that button will allow the speed dial to dial automatically.
**Before dialing from Missed calls or contacts, let it ask you if you want to call. Dont just call right away.
    Verizon Specific:
    **Support for Visual VoiceMail
    **VZ Navigator 5
    *Vcast Videos and music
    Calendar:
    **Ability to search calendar
**Ability to see colors on month view.
*Year View - This is possible. I have seen this on other devices with smaller screens.
*Ability to add a contact to the Calendar Event.
    *Attachments from the calendar.
    Messaging:
*Changing the theme of the IM screen.
**Seeing the character and page count as we type
*Automatically changing to MMS to add Video, sound and pictures.
**Ability to beam messages and conversations.
*Ability to not only view as conversations, but also individual messages.
*IM logins for MSN, MSN Live, ICQ, Yahoo Messenger, Facebook.
    Camera:
    **Add support for Panaramic view
**Add support for digital zoom in and out using the volume keys and multi touch.
**Add an option for Shutter Sound
**Support for Face recognition and light detection.
**Ability to set the resolution of the pictures and videos being taken.
**A menu option for all of this.
*Add features for Focus and Exposure.
*Image modes such as Black and White, Watercolor and other colors.
**Scene modes such as Landscape, portrait, Sunset, Dusk, Night time and Action.
*After taking a photo, let it come up with an option on if you want to save or discard the photo, while it shows you a preview of the image.
**An option to add the photo video to your contacts, facebook, google Orkut, Twitter, MySpace, photobucket and others.
**Ability to send as MMS after taking the photo/video along with an option to resize it to MMS size quality.
*Timer so that the camera can shoot after a specific time.
*An option to add backgrounds and scenery.
    Browser:
    **iPhone Spoofing.
    *Ability to send page link

    **Ability to add new pages
**Ability to set how many items are displayed per row
*Ability to have page tabs and either name them or go by number.
*Ability to change launcher background or make it transparent.
**When moving an icon around, can there be a way of doing a cut and paste on the icon, rather than dragging it across screens? One option would be to hold your finger down, it cuts it, then goto the page you want to move it to and click on it and it gets pasted.
    New Features:
    **An on screen Keyboard
**Many if not all apps and features should support the accelerometer, landscape/portrait and instant flipping.
*An option to control the transitions when flipping with the accelerometer.
*On the launch bar, add an IM icon since a lot of people use that more than the E-mail Icon.
*On the launch bar, Add a speed Dialer contacts view which would display 15 contacts by photo and you can click one to dial.
*An ability to start with the launcher opened or with just a background,
    Title Bar:
**Date and time with day of the week: Day of the Week mm/dd/yy hh/mm/ss/am-pm: EG: Mon 2/12/10 11:13:05AM
**Put the percentage of the battery next to the battery icon.
    Music Player:
    *Add an option for bookmarking.
**Add a scrollbar to move to a position in the song.
*Ability to create your own playlist.
    *Ability to find Lyrics online
*Basically whatever the music player remix can do.
    Bluetooth:
**Ability to sync with other Microsoft devices.
    Volume Settings:
**Add from loudest to quietest to Vibrate to no sound at all. I miss the vibrate option on this phone as a setting.

    **Bug fixes.
    Possible features for programming:
    *Support for Allegro
    *Support for LUA
*Support for OpenGL (If its not supported currently)
*Support for QT (If its not supported currently)
    *Support for AngelScript
If anyone wants to add or agree, go ahead. But please use the same format as I just did. Thanks for listening Palm.

Holy crap your asking for a lot. Some of it I certainly agree with, but, some of it frankly would appeal to too few users or is so much beyond what the competition is offering in the price range that I wouldn't hold your breath. That said, you asked for a few things that are already there that you were perhaps either unaware of or maybe don't function the way you would like them to (in which case be more specific.)
**A sorting feature to sort by companies, phone number, last name, first name, address, etc....
-There are some sorting features available. When in the contacts main screen, press the menu bar and go to preferences. The top option labeled "List Order" is a sort function. Available options are "First Name," "Last Name," "Company & first name," "Company & last name."
*Ability to add a middle name as well as a Maiden Name.
-If you tap the menu bar while editing a contact you will see an option for "Name Details." This will bring up a screen with fields for Prefix, First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, and Suffix.
*Ability to add more than one note and child.
-Not sure I understand the need for multiple notes, but each their own etc... As for child, the field is labeled "Children" I'm not sure why you need anything more than to separate multiple childrens names with a comma. Just curious as to why you want an individual field per child (not judging, just curious.)
*Add a fast dialing system for the first digits 1 through 0. Basically you can assign a number to speed dial. Holding that button will allow the speed dial to dial automatically.
-This is already there. When viewing a contact (not editing), press the menu bar. Second option down is "Set Speed Dial." Once there Palm has done you one better than 0-9 by offering you nearly every key on the qwerty keyboard. Caveat, best as I've been able to determine the press and hold only works in the phone app or home/launcher screens.
    *Ability to send page link
-This can already be done. While viewing a web page, press the menu bar, then Page. One of the options is "Share." Selecting this will open a new e-mail with the link and embed a .png thumbnail of the page.
**Ability to type in a new web URL while on any page.
    - Unless the system "carat" is in a text field of some sort at the time. Just starting to type will bring up the address box.
    *Led Notifications.
    - As someone else pointed out, this was added with 1.4.0. It's settings are located within "Screen&Lock" on the 3rd launcher page. I don't know what affect having a 3rd party patch addressing the same functionality would have if you played with the built in settings while the patch is installed.
**Add from loudest to quietest to Vibrate to no sound at all. I miss the vibrate option on this phone as a setting.
    - Not really sure what you're asking for here. Volume keys can get you from loudest to no sound at all. There is also a physical switch next to the power button which depending on what you choose in the "Sounds & Ringtones" on the 3rd launcher page can be either silent or vibrate.
*On the launch bar, add an IM icon since a lot of people use that more than the E-mail Icon.
    - If you're talking about replacing the e-mail icon with the messaging app, you can do this now. It's done the same way you move icons within the launcher.
*On the launch bar, Add a speed Dialer contacts view which would display 15 contacts by photo and you can click one to dial.
    - This can be accomplished by a number of 3rd party apps. Check the App Catalogue.
    Okay onto my soapbox:
    Contacts:
Yes, LDAP is an old and useful early net protocol. But it's also one that has fallen largely into disuse. Not saying you shouldn't use it or like it, but you may be the first person I've seen even mention it in a good 6-8yrs.
I'm not sure why the need for multiple contact photos. Definitely don't see the need for video other than the play with it once "ooh nifty" factor. You acknowledge it's "gimmicky" and then expect Palm to provide it free as opposed to buying a 3rd party app. That's not something that many people are going to want let alone need. If you want it, and someone agrees with you and wants to develop it then you can pay for it. Personally, I'd rather Palm being a smaller company focus its attentions elsewhere including some of the points on your list.
Agree 100% with categories and better searching as well as the need for birthdays/aniversaries etc. showing up in the calendar.
    Calls:
More details would be nice but again I disagree with mult photos or video.
I too would like it to be a little less quick to dial. I'm thinking a press and hold on the screen to dial rather than an additional confirmation prompt. In my mind that would be enough to guard against accidental dialing without being a nuisance when dialing is desired.
    Verizon:
Visual VoiceMail would be nice definitely. However it's support may not be a Palm issues so much as a Verizon (and/or what ever subcontractor handles that for them) issue. No comment on VZNav and Vcast, have never and don't use them.
    Calendar:
Funny thing about the adding contacts to events. The under-the-hood support for that functionality I've discovered is actually there. It seems there is just no way to access it when creating or modifying existing events. I recieved an mms with an event from a blackberry that had persons attached and when loaded into my calendar I was able to see and IIRC even modify attached e-mail addresses (which Synergy resolved to the appropriate contacts in my phone.)
    Messaging:
**Ability to beam messages and conversations.
-Not sure what you mean by this. Beaming used to refer to IR transfers. Pre/Pixi don't have IR transceivers so I'm not sure what it is your asking for.
    Camera:
Panorama wouldn't really be useful. The camera is fixed zoom with a physically determined aspect ratio. All Palm could do through software is crop the top and bottom of the image so that what's left is a panoramic looking image. It would not however be any wider a view than what you would getting taking a landscape oriented photo. Unless of course you mean taking multiple photos that would get stitched together which is another matter entirely.
As for the rest, I think your giving a smart phone camera too much credit and using to replace a purpose built camera. I've occasionally seen one or two of the other requests in smart/camera phones but never all. Being a full on camera is just not what they're designed for. Obviously you can ask, but I wouldn't hold your breath for Palm to add those features. The demand is probably not there among the majority of the userbase and targeted demos for the devices.
    Launcher:
Everything you've asked for is available in PreWare as a patch. I've got several of 'em installed. The code to add launcher pages was apparently already within the OS and the patch merely enables this existing code. So I imagine much of these requests will be officially enabled at some point in a future webOS update.
    Other:
I'm curious, in your follow up post you state that face recognition has been on every other smart phone you've owned. Which phones? I've never seen that on anything other than proper cameras (possible exception may be iPhone 3GS which I haven't played with.) Regardless, don't expect it on the Pre. It's a fixed focus camera so face recognition will do virtually nothing but take up processing power (well could be used for exposure but...)
Not trying to be critical but a lot (but not all) off the stuff you asked for is probably way to niche in terms of the majority of users or potential users for it to be worth Palm to devote resources to over other future features and bug fixes. Some of it might be nice to have (including much of your camera list,) but I'd have to call it low priority since much of it can be done in other ways (off phone) without much difficulty or potentially with 3rd party down the road.

  • Tutorial for a Spry photo gallery with thumbs and buttons ???

Anyone know of a a tutorial for building a Spry photo gallery with both thumbnails and next, previous, stop and play buttons(functions)  ???
Like the ones on Adobe's Photo Gallery demos; http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/demos/pe_gallery.html
Adobe show the source for their Photo Gallery Demos, but that doesn't help me much ... I need a prober tutorial that tells me how to do : )
The only tutorial that I've been able to find, is one for Dreamweaver 8, without buttons - I'm looking for a updated version.
I appreciate any help very much. Thank you.

Just Google for the Spry photo gallery and you might find

    or even a few others.
    Happy Sprying

  • How do I create titles for albums in Photo app?

When someone sends me photos in an email and I download them to my ipad2 they automatically appear in the native Photo App. When I tap Album they are grouped together with the title “Camera Roll” whatever that means. My question is: How to I change the title “Camera Roll” to a title of my choosing? I know how to do this in iPhoto on my MacBook Pro where most of my photos are grouped in “events” but have no idea how to do this on my ipad. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Photos that are emailed to you and saved to your iPad are automatically saved to the Camera Roll. You can not title the photos or albums on the iPad without using a third party app. The photo captioning ability is not built into the iOS. You can search the apps store but one app that I know of is called Photo-Sort for iPad. You can also organize and create folders for your photos with this app.

  • How does iWeb track files for incremental updates to .mac

In short, my question is where does iWeb keep track of which pages have been published to .mac so it can make perform an incremental update?
My father is in Alaska using iWeb 1.1.1 to maintain a blog and photo gallery that, when published to .mac, has grown to just over 100MB. His connection speeds vary from port to port, but are typically around 128k and cut out after a bit of use. The challenge now is that iWeb is trying to upload the entire site which is failing every time due to the internet connection.
While visiting him, I saved an identical domain.site file to my computer that I would like to publish using my high speed connection. Following this, my goal is to convince his version of iWeb that it has been updated without having to transfer the entire domain.site file and this is the part where I could use some help.
So far I have published my copy of the site. I have then tried emailing him copies of the files: index.xml.gz, assets.site.plist, ServerCachedResources.plist, sharedassets.plist, and com.apple.iweb.plist which I accessed using the show package contents on the domain.site file. He has transfered these to domain file however it still wants to upload the entire site. Are there any other ideas on where iWeb tracks pages for incremental updates?

If your MBP has a line in jack, just plug an 1/8th inch stereo miniplugto whatever your cassette deck has and use garageband to record the song.

  • I just updated photos on Yosemite and now iPhoto is gone.  How can I get it back?

I just updated photos on Yosemite and now iPhoto is gone.  How can I get it back?

What were you running before you updated? 10.10.2, or an earlier version of OS X (10.9 or earlier)?
If 10.10.2, then iPhoto should still be on your machine. If not, then go to the App Store, purchased tab, and look for iPhoto, and download it (you'll need iPhoto 9.6.1 to run on Yosemite).
If you never installed iPhoto from the Mac App Store, then you should contact AppleCare, who can probably help you out. That's the only option in this case; upgrading from 10.9 or earlier straight to 10.10.3 is a bad incidence of timing.
