Organizer in PSE 11

I imported my photos into organizer. I don't see the pictures, all I see are grey squares.
I have to open every single picture in editor before I can see it in the organizer. What's wrong?

Select all of the grey thumbnails and from the Organizer menu click:
Edit >> Update Thumbnails for Selected Items

I only get hourglasses when opening the organizer on PSE 9. The only way to access the organizer is through the editor.

When you open the Organizer from the Editor, use File...Watch Folders to either disable watching folders or choose the specific folder(s) you want to have watched.

Thanks for your response DJ. I have Windows Vista and I'am getting NO error messages, crazy right? I just click on the organizer and it acts like its going to do something and then you wait and wait for maybe 30 minutes and it just doesn't move forward. I have been using the PSE programs for many years and have never encountered this problem! I have thousands of pictures on this program and its starting to freak me out that I cant access any of them! If you have any additional ideas please let me know. Thanks Julie

Kein Farbmanagement beim Organizer von PSE 3.0

Hallo Community,
Mir ist aufgefallen, dass Bilder im Organizer von PSE 3.0 falsch angezeigt werden. Ich mache meine Bilder mit einer Nikon D100 vorzugsweie im RAW Format im Adobe RGB Farbraum. Dieser wird vom PSE auch richtig erkannt und die Bilder richtig wiedergegeben. Der Organizer allerdings zeigt die Farben der Bilder fehlerhaft an. Egal welche Farbeinstellungen ich im Programm vornehme. Mir ist aufgefallen, dass in den Dateieigenschaften der Farbraum nur als RGB erkannt wird. Die D100 schreibt die Informationen zum Farbraum wohl irgendwo anders hin. PSE kommt damit zurecht, nur der Organizer nicht. Auch ein nachträgliches hinzufügen des Adobe RGB Farbraumes zum Bild ändert nichts daran. Das Bild wird immer noch falsch angezeigt. Mir scheint, als hätte der Menüpunkt Farbeinstellungen keine Funktion.
Wer kann helfen?

Meinen Sie, dass das Programm selbst sich aktualisiert? Dann gehen Sie zu >Hilfe >Updates (Aktualisierungen) >Voreinstellungen und stellen dort die automatischen Aktulalisierungen ab.

How Do I Get to the Organizer in PSE 8 on a Mac?

Greetings:
I have downloaded PSE 8 and am using it in trial mode for now on my Mac running Snow Leopard. I can't for the life of me find how to start the photo organizer to create an online album or tag photos on a map. Everything I have read indicates one can start it from the welcome screen; however my welcome screen has no such option. I have something called Adobe Bridge but I don't think that is the same thing.
I watched a training video and their welcome screen was much different than mine. It had an organize and an edit button and also showed information on the user's photoshop.com account usage and what looked like an ad.

There isn't and never has been any version of Organizer in any version of Elements for Mac. You get adobe bridge instead.

Organizer in pse 8 will not iniciate correctly.

I am having problems with org. in pse 8. Sometimes it shuts down the entire program other times it will not respond at all. I am running XP and my system exceed requirements for the program. Any ideas?

Unfortunately, there are many reasons why the PSE Organizer might crash, and often it is hard to diagnose quickly the reason for the crash. Here are some steps you can take to try to fix the problem:

Organizer in PSE 11 hangs on catalog converted from PSE8

I just installed PSE 11 and converted my catalog from PSE 8. I have over 50,000 images in the catalog. Immediately the Organizer starts on the people recognition (I had all Auto-Analyze turned off in PSE8). I am able to cancel the People Recognition but before I can do anything else (only a couple of seconds) , some other process automatically starts--the hourglass cursor appears. Task Manager states that the Organizer is not responding so it is evidently going into some long process of analyzing data. I have the pictures all tagged (most with multiple tags) and am not interested in having Organizer identify them. I am running on Windows 7. What can I do -- just let the Orgnizer run? I have let it run for about 90 minutes with no response-- and no idea what it is doing.

okay, I was able to retrieve all the thumbnails - but the albums that I had created are no longer listed as albums -- guess it doesn't matter but it's very confusing to me -- and I'm not a mac or computer illiterate person - I've used PSE 8 for years and that seemed more intuitive to me!! I guess I need to get a book -- any suggestions on one that does a step by step? maybe I need one of those PSE 11 for dummies!!

Disabling Organizer in PSE 3 and/or PSE4

I presently have PSE 3 installed and will likely go to PSE 4. Is it possible to disable Organizer in either of these releases. I do not have a need for Organizer but I must continually indicate that I do not want to Save an image in Organizer.

Hi Colin,
If I just leave it checked, it get's "saved" in Organizer. In some senses it doesn't bother me but I would just as soon turn Organizer OFF as it does take up some space and also slows the processes down.
I simply save my images in folders by year and month. Since the bulk of my images are my two grandchildren, I don't need a system like the Organizer.

Moving PSE 10 organizer to PSE 11 organizer

I have been using PSE since PSE 7-I purchased 7, 10, and 11. I am seriously looking for a better organizer solution.
My two catalogs worked fantastically well in the PSE 10 organizer - one click and just what I was looking for popped up. Not now! I am SOOOO done!
I repaired and optimized in PSE 10 - multiple times and still both catalogs (one with photos and one with digital scrapbooking supplies) refuse to convert properly. The photo catalog did not convert many of my pictures and many are no longer tagged, along with missing tags. The scrapbook catalog converted the Alaphabet folder and that's it and again, missing tags.
Searching the boards has been useless!
Any sane help would be greatly appreciated.

There's no such bug. I mean navigation between files is the most operation one would do, how can that be buggy
You can double click an image to view it in Single Image View and use keyboard arrow keys to navigate left/right/up/down. Also double clicking an image which is fully zoomed out takes you back to previous zoom-in state where all thumbnails were visible.
You may also try other views to arrange you media in grid - Thumbnails, Import Batch, Date View, Folder Location. These are available in 'Display' dropdown present on the top right corner of the application.

Cannot load organizer in PSE or Photoshop Premiere elements 8

My computer crashed and from that point on, I cannot load the organizer. I have
spoken to support, which did not rectify the problem.
Just purchased elements 8 and am very disappointed. Can anyone help?

Organizer von PSE 9.0 aktualisiert sehr langsam und sehr oft

Hallo
Ich benutze PSE schon sehr lange. Seit der Version 8.0 habe ich ein Problem. Der Organizer aktualisiert automatisch bei ca. jedem 2. oder 3. Start des Programms. Das wäre ja noch kein Problem, wenn es etwas schneller gehen würde als gegen 30 Minuten. Es kommt auch vor, dass die Aktion schon beim nächsten Start des Programms gleich wieder vonstatten geht. Eine ziemlich mühsame Sache.
Weiss da jemand Rat.
PS: Soviel kann ich sagen: ich verschiebe und lösche keine Bilder ausserhalb des Organizers!

Where is Organizer in PSE 9?

New MBA with LION; just downloaded PSE9 from app store
and I'll be darned if I can find the pSE 9 organizer tab; its
usually a blue tab on the upper right hand of the screen; if
the adobe-apple fight has resulted in removing organizer or bridge
from this app I'll demand my money back..

Organizer? PSE 8 for Mac

Just installed PSE for Mac, opened the first tutorial, and they refer to the "Home" icon for organized photos.
Altho they say it is for v.8, it is really v.7. I cannot find any method of organizing photos, nor retrieving and storing them.
The help area is no help, and the "Missing Manual" doesn't come out for 3 weeks.

No Organizer in the Mac version. You have to use Bridge as an organizer.

Timeline in Organizer of PSE 10

Either my timeline is goofy, or I am just not understanding how it's supposed to work. I thought if you clicked on one of the bars in the timeline it would take you to those pictures. Mine goes to anywhere - three years prior, 10 years prior, I don't see any connection. Is it not supposed to do what I am thinking. Some of the pictures are scans that I've changed the date on - since they are prior to digital. Does that have something to do with it? I'm confused...

The next time it happens, take a look at the properties of the picture that's highlighted. It seems that if there is EXIF information, PSE uses the "DateTime" value for its organizing. For example, here's the original info for a JPG:
After using the "Adjust Date/Time" on it:
Its properties look like this:
And Organizer uses that field for sorting.
This isn't a problem with a photo without EXIF information -- in that case PSE uses the "Date Modified" value.

Cannot use Organizer in PSE 12.

I have recently bought PSE 12 on line from Adobe, downloaded it successfully, used the Editor but it won't open the Organizer. Why ? I have Windows 7, 4GB 64-bit o.s. Can anyone help, bearing in mind I am not a computer geek

Hi Sue,
I think that I might have confused you.
The idea was to minimize all your open applications and create a shortcut on your desktop so that you can launch the Organizer directly from your desktop.
When you right click on the desktop where there are no icons, you should see this
Select New then Shortcut - that should bring up this screen
Paste the following into the location box and click on Next to bring up the next screen
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
Enter a name for the shortcut - I have used PSE Org - and click on Finish
A new Icon for the shortcut should appear on your desktop.
Double clicking on that should launch the organizer.

Can I open Organizer in PSE 9 without having it organize my images?

I'm using PSE 9 strictly for its editing capabilities. I have over 8,000 images stored on my PC and don't want their organizational system changed. Horror stories seem to indicate Organizer will automatically try to reorganize my images if I open it but I'm curious what else Organizer might offer that I DO want to use. Can I open the Organizer tab without launching an automatic reorganiization of my image files?

I apologise that this not a 'reply' to the original question, as I don't know how to that.
This is in fact my own question.
1. I use PSE 7 or my just installed PSE9, "how do I organize my photo's" the suggested PSE way?
2. What I would really want to do, is CONTROL the pix that I want to come into 'Organize', when I do my different tasks. How can I do this?
3. Right now my PSE7 Organize photo's fill up PSE7 with so many pix, it is more confusing than helpful.
4. I just Installed PSE9, and told it NOT to use the organize pix from PSE7. Now I can't bring any pix into PSE9 Organize. When I try to bring in pix
    from'FILE", like I always would like to, the ONLY File Types that PSE9 is looking for, are "XML". I have NO xml pix file types?? Where is the XML file type
    coming from??
It seems that Organizier has turned a simple 'gather' pix event, into something very complicated.
I have read many pages of PSE Help on Organize, but it had not cleared this up for me. I understand that there is a way to 'group' or maybe 'TAG' my pix, so they may catergarized for selective imports, but even after reading the HELP, is not at all clear how this is done, or if it is what I want to do.
All I want to do is:
A. Bring in ONLY the pix I want, FROM FILE, (I assume Organize is proper way to do this), for each project that I happen to be doing, not All my pix at once. For a
    Collage as an example.
B. I want the choice of bringing in several pix at once sometimes, and do this "FROM FILE", at my selection.
Can this be done?
