Organizer Shuts Down

I have Adobe Premiere Elements 8 and Photoshop Elements 8.  I'm trying to create a slide show.  My Organizer kept shutting down, and now won't open at all.  Any ideas on how to fix it?

Make sure the program is not running in the background as sometimes it doers not close down properly.
Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete
Click the Processes Tab
If you see any running programs for Adobe highlight each one in the list and click end process.

  • Organizer Shuts Down in PSE 7

I've been using PSE7 for a couple of months with no problems. The other day my computer shut down while I was in the organizer and ever since, I get an error message saying it has to close down. After reading some suggestions, I've learned that if I repair the catalog, I can get into organizer and even do some more work (add photos, create new albums and tags, etc.), but inevitably it will close down again. I did an uninstall and then reinstalled, but the problem continues. It isn't any one action that seems to cause the shutdown....sometimes it's very quickly after I've opened the organizer and other times it will be fine for up to a half hour or so and then it's shut down, repair again and hope for the best. Any suggestions? It's become really frustrating and I'm regretting the upgrade. Thanks!

I too am having trouble with Organizer in PSE 7.  My problem is with outputing a slide show to Premier Elements.  About 60mgb into the output Organizer shuts down.  I've tried uninstalling my DVD drives, uninstalling PSE 7, changing the registry moving scratch disks around, numerous other things, I even sat and watched taskmanager while the file was trying to be output to be sure I didn't have a memory problem in Vista!  Still can't output a slide show at all for any use.  I did try opening a slide show in PSE 6 and that worked fine.  I just didn't want to have to go through the process of recreating a slide show from scratch and since the files are databased files I can't figure out a way to get the show from PSE 7 to PSE 6 without saving it with an output file.  Does anyone have any ideas for me regarding any solution short of putting in the hours to recreate the Slide Show????
I don't find WinDVD.  Where would I find the .dat file????
    Thanks, mary lou

  • Elements Organizer shuts down.

I just loaded Adobe photoshop elements. When I try to use some of the find funtions such as finding duplicates a Windows box appears and says that Elements Organizer shut down. Any idea what I can do to correct this.

I'm having the same issue, it says Photoshop elements 10 not responding.
These are things I've tried from other forums:
    Re-instal several time.
    Clean cashe, delete temp files.
    Make Win 7 compatible
    Re-install after these changes
    5. Skip welcome screen and go direclty to editor and organizer
Still stops working and says photoshop elements 10 not responding

  • Organizer shuts down everytime you open it

my photo shop 11 organizer shuts down every time it is opened can't do anything.

    Hi,
This can mean that there is a problem with the catalog.
Try holding down the shift key while you start the organizer. Keep it held down and the Catalog Manager should appear (now release the shift key).
Select you catalog in the lower panel and click on the Repair button
When that has finished, click on the Optimize button
When that is done, click on the Cancel button to close the Catalog Manager
What operating system are you running on?
    Good luck

  • PSE8 Organizer shuts down

I've not been able to access my Organizer for a month now.
I attempted to load photos from my mobile (done many times before).
Now when I boot up Organizer I get a note that 10 items have been noted - click y or n to show. On touching the panel the whole program shuts down. I can't access any control outside that box.  The only way I can connect here is to use the Edit program. I have searchedd everywhere for the "missing" photos with no success. Can anyone advise me of the best way out of this mess? Reload the program? I've searched all the Temp folders with no success. Help someone!

Try deleting the Organizer preferences and see if it gets launched.
Also, you can try creating a new catalog. When you launch the Organizer, press the shift key and then launch the Organizer. It would show up Catalog Manager dialog. There you can create a new catalog.

  • When I optimize, the organizer shuts down.

I am trying to optimize my thumbnail images in Elements organizer and whenever I hit optimize, a dialog box pops up saying the organizer has stopped working and windows is trying to find a solution to the problem, which it doesn't, so it shuts the organizer down. I have been having trouble viewing my thumbnail photos for a while and restarting doesn't seem to help..

The system info gives the path to the current catalog location.
You have to find that folder (it may be a hidden folder, so you may have to set your explorer preferences to show hidden files - I assume you are on Windows)
When you have found that folder, have a look inside it and lool for a 'thumbs.5.cache' file. That's the file you have to delete.

  • I am trying to access Organizer in Premiere Elements and it just shuts down the programme

I am trying to access Organizer in Premiere Elements and it just shuts down the programme.  I tried reinstalling the programme but it just does not let me get to Organizer.  Now after reinstalling, it does not let me into the programme.  It just keeps on asking me to sign in.  Once I sign in, it just goes blank.  I checked my registration online and it is already there.  What do I do apart from tearing my hair?

  • Elements 10 Organizer keeps shutting down - why?

I have using PSE 6 succesfully on my computer for about 4 years.  I recently downloaded the trial version of PSE 10, but it never worked properly and the Organizer would close down aftre about 1 minute, so I never bothered with it.  I have now purchased the software on DVD and the same thing is happening.  I open the Organizer, it loads up with all my pictures (about 14,500) and then after about 60-90 seconds I get a grey pop-up box saying "Elements 10 Organizer has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for any inconvenience.  Please tell Microsoft about this problem...." and sends a report.
I'm not techie, and the report content means nothing to me.
I've tried uninstall/reinstall and that hasn't helped and I've read numerous Forum topics but cannot find one that matches this.  Any help would be gratefully received, thanks.  Simon.

I just installed PSE10 and ran into the same problem with Organizer after setting up a catalog by importing pictures from six years' worth of photo files and folders. It turns out one of the imported files was corrupted in the import process and was given a year of 2098. Organizer kept shutting down after about less than 30 seconds every time I opened it, and I couldn't delete the corrupted file. I also uninstalled and reinstalled PSE10 a few times. Finally, I discovered the Catalog Manager feature (hold down the "shift" key while starting Organizer). In Catalog Manager, I moved the catalog I had created from being accessible by everyone to being accessible to only me. Voila! I was then able to open Organizer without it shutting down. Then I used Organizer to properly convert my previous catalog created in Photoshop Album 2.0 into Organizer. And I got my entire catalog in less time than the method I had been using. Now, however, I have a problem in trying to delete the catalog with the corrupted file. When I use Catalog Manager to remove it, I get an error message saying the catalog is being used by "another program." I can't figure out which other program that is. I'll have to keep playing with Organizer until I figure that one out.

  • Photoshop 10 shuts down by itself.

When I launch photoshop or Premiere for that matter, everything looks normal. When I move on to open the organizer it opens...for a few seconds, then shut down completely (photoshop that is) I can open the edit secion, but after the shut down, I need to reeboot the PC in order for me to start it again, but only to see the same thing happend again...I changed the setting so photoshop would by default open in the organizer, but since it shuts down, now I can't evenm change back the setting so I can access the edit section, as it shuts down on me before I can blink !  I am running on Windows 7, and it has not previously given me problems. I am afraid to reinstall the whole thing as I am worried I will loose my pictures. Any bright ideas anyone ?

ohh, I am such an idiot whit this. Not sure what you mean. I created a shortcut from the editor (cant find the organizer) and when I open that through the new shortcut, I can select by doubble clicking the organize in the top right corner. The screen answer is "Loading the organizer workspace". hereafter I get a nano second view of the organizer page, but nothing more than that..., second time I double click, it gives me the organizer and then everything from there is normal. If I on the organizer in the editor view only click once, I stil get the brief glimpse of the organizer screen, but second time, I only get the drop down bar whater I click once or twice !!
At least I can work with it now, but I have no idea how this is working, or whats wrong...
I recently added 3 movies to the organizer, that I worked with in premier, incl a few pictures as cover photos that I took of the net. All avbl. in the organizer.

  • CS2 gives login error message and shuts down automatically

    Hi,
I hope someone can direct me to a quick fix for this because I just shot a wedding and need to be editing ASAP. I turned on PhotoShop CS2 and after loading it gives me the error message saying somehting to the effect of "Your username, login, organization, or serial key is missing or invalid. Photoshop must shut down". My copy is registered, and I have the loging info and serial , but I cannot do anything at all in the program. It doesn't give an option to re-enter my info. It just shuts itself down. I use it all the time and have had it on this computer since 06 so I have no idea why it's doing this now. Any help tonight would be great.
    Thanks in advance.
    Scott

System specs, please. Is CS2 installed on a 64 bit operating system?

  • HT5129 I have 30+ iPhoto Libraries, so every time I open one, iphoto wants to copy the 3 events I had out there when MobileMe shut down. Those 3 events are saved in the appropriate iPhoto libraries. Wish I had deleted them on MobileMe! How do I turn this

I have 30+ iPhoto Libraries, so every time I open one, iPhoto wants to copy the 3 events I had out there when MobileMe shut down. Those 3 events are already saved in the appropriate iPhoto libraries. Wish I had deleted them on MobileMe! How do I turn this process off?

As Larry mentioned I use a different DAM (digital asset management) appliclation, Media Pro 1. For other possible DAM apps visit  The DAM Forum which is for professional photographers.  There the various apps are discussed along with workflows.  If nothing else you'll get some good information on managing digital "negatives".
Media Pro lets you manage the folder organization of your photos and write metadata, keywords, titles, and other metadata directly back to the files.  No matter what app you go with have a backup plan in place to keep current backups of your source photos on separate hard drives.

  • I prefer to arrange my photos by title but when I shut down Iphoto, my photos rearrange by date.  This is not acceptable for my growing library of snanned black and white ancestral photos. How do I get photos in events to stay in place ?

I prefer to arrange my photos by title but when I shut down Iphoto, my photos rearrange by date.  This is not acceptable for my growing library of snanned black and white ancestral photos. How do I get photos in events to stay in place ?

I actually am illiterate on the use of the finder to to view photos in folders.  I guess I will go to a class at the local Apple store for a lesson on the uses of finder .
My method of viewing my photos are through events in I photo.
    1. Download  from camera or scan  in from old photos.
2  I organize photos into events by occasion, or happenings in a certain year, or a group of photos with memorabilia of a certain person from childhood and on. etc.
    3.  Because Iphoto does not allow rearranging as I was able to do in my old PC with Corell,  I drag all of the photos to an " album" on the left side of sceen.
    4.  I arrange photos in "order" after which I number each photo in sequence. I do this for a few of reasons.
              - if a photo is accidentally deleted I know it.  I can usually remedy this by checking my trash or
    rescanning.
              - I can sort by title without complications and this holds in "album"
    5.  The pictures will re arrange automatially to match the album in I photo.
    6.  This worked great in I-photo 09 but now in mountain lion the pictures in events go back to "
sort by date" and will not hold "sort to Title"each time I photo is closed down.  What a nuicance it is to have to go  to view and click "title"  again and again every time Iphoto is opened.
    7. Can I go back to Photo 09? .
