Organizer Using Wrong Drive

Last night my attempts to import video and photo files into organizer failed miserably and I hope you can help.  I have an assortment of videos in MTS format and photos in PSD format that I want to import into Organizer so that I can eventually use them in constructing a video and here is what happened when I attempted to use Get Media!Files and Folders:  I was presented with the file browser and was alble to successfully select the file(s) I wanted to import from my Drive D and then started the import process.  That process appeared to work just fine and during the processes I noted that it was reading the file(s) from drive D.  However, when the import finished the thumbnail(s)s had the broken link image and when I clicked on properties the catalog indicated the file(s) were on Drive E which of course they weren't.  This happened whether I selected single or multiple files.  Attempts to reconnect the file(s) failed with a message that they were already in the catalog.  Repairing the catalog, optimizing the catalog, and even creating a new catalog produced the same results.  I feel something stupidly simple is wrong but I haven't identified it yet and I'm hoping one of you brainiacs can help.  My system is:
Intel 7-980X
6GB memory
Windows 7 64-bit
160GB SSD Drive C (OS and applications)
1TB Western Digital Drive D (data)
2TB Western Digital Drive E (backup)
Adobe Lightroom 3.0
Adobe Premiere Elements 8
Adobe Photoshop Elements 8
Thanks in advance for your help.

I checked and just as I suspected each of my drives have unique volume labels. However, using the tool Barb (from Muvipix) suggested I discovered that my D and E drives had the same volume serial numbers. I guess I imaged my D drive to the E drive when I installed it months ago and it copied the VolSer. Once I changed the VolSer for drive E Organizer functioned as expected. The tool and process can be found at: tp://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/index.htm   Once again, thanks for everyone's help.

  • CS5 using wrong drives for scratch

I'm running CS5 in win7/64bit, booting from C: and have a bunch of other drives, one of which is a FAT formatted external I: I have scratch set up on L: and C:, I: is unchecked in the performance prefs, yet PS is using I: for scratch. I can tell this because I see files like 5380_982581875_MVM_0.tmp created (interestingly they appear when running liquify).
I'm getting a disk full pop-up in liquify even though the disk isn't full - the problem is that the scratch file is getting to be 4gb which is the limit for FAT. Procmon (from sysinternals) confirms that it's the file on I: that's being written to when liquify gives the pop-up (and that a disk full error is happening).
Anyway, the real question is why PS is using the I: drive when it's not configured to do so..?
    thanks,
    ...rob

Thanks for the quick (and helpful) reply. I think you're on the right track; the 'Photoshop Temp' file is in the right place, and the MVM files are only created when I'm running liquify (and perhaps other plugins as referred to in the post you mentioned).
I tried creating a c:\Temp as suggested but the files still go in a 'random' place. Disconnecting the FAT drive means liquify works for me now as they are going to an NTFS drive but it would still be nice to decide where they go.
I've not come across Mondo before, and google isn't coming up with anything interesting. Do you know where I can find any info on it?
    thanks,

  • Screen flickering and system freezes when using Nouveau driver.

I'm testing the Nouveau driver on my computer, I really want to keep this driver installed because it makes XFCE to use less resources than the Nvidia proprietary driver. But when I start some apps like firefox or make changes to the desktop, the system stop responding and then the screen breaks.
I can't use the computer in that state so I force a shutdown.
I don't know how to see what is going wrong, because the proprietary driver don't give me these problems, I don't get any errors at dmesg log and Xorg log don't have any helpful information.

I got again a total system freeze today when I wanted to launch firefox using only the openbox menu, without wbar running.
So I decided to try now the 'nouveau.noaccel=1' kernel command line parameter, and to use again wbar for my frequently used applis.
In the Xorg log, the differences are:
    without 'nouveau.noaccel=1'

I am almost sure that the mesa nouveau dri driver is the cause of the freezes.

  • Urg:Executing SQL From Java App using Jdbc Driver

    Hi
I am using JDBC Driver version 9.0.1.1.0.
I am running this in Thin Client Mode
My Code Snippet Looks Like This:=
    ==========================================================
    String url = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:VpDb";
    String userName = "scott";
    String password = "tiger";
    Connection conn = null ;
    Statement st = null ;
    ResultSet rs = null ;
    String categoryCode="ABC";
    try
    conn = DriverManager.getConnection (url, userName, password);
    st = conn.createStatement ();
    String sqlStatement = "Select Count(*) From News Where CategoryCode=" +"\'" + categoryCode + "\'" + ";";
    System.out.println(sqlStatement);

I have added the classes12.zip and nls_charset12.zip in the classpath.
Now when i run this it gives me an error saying the following error message:-
SQL ERROR IN IS_NEWS_EMPTY: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00911: invalid character
Can anyone help me with this as to whats going wrong because the exact equivalent of my sqlStamenet runs on SQL command line but not from java code. Why??
    Any Help appreciated
    Thanks

I think it is complaining about the ";" that you add at the end of your string. You don't need to add that to the query.

  • PSE 12 organiser uses wrong folders

PSE 12 organiser doesn't remember photos after import from whatever source (for example, pics are imported from e:\test\pics, but the organiser shows them as imported from f:\test\pics), and this is trying to locate pictures (link again) with no success.
This even happens when everything is freshly installed, and pics are shown correctly - after saving the catalogue pictures cannot be found.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you

One typical situation when you may see the location in the catalog pointing to another drive letter (Windows) is if you are using different external drives or USB thumb drives. This is the reason why it is highly recommended to always assign the same letter drive to any external drive; it's best to start with letters like M, N, P, Q... rather than E, F, G, H... If you have assigned the letter E, then you have another drive plugged in, the last one will be assigned E, and if you plug-in the previous drive, Windows will recognize it as F.
The organizer saves the drive identification with both the drive letter and the drive serial number, but that does not always help to correctly identify the drive. For instance, if you have a cloned external drive, there are situations where two drives have the same serial number.

Have you gotten into Computer/Manage/Disk Management to explore the drives set up fuller?
I have 64 bit Windows 7 and 8.1 computers, no Windows 32 bit. But, I am assuming that the route to the Disk Management is the same as I have indicated. What exactly is the problem when you go to access the drives information in Disk Management. No response to clicking on Disk Management to open the view or something else?
Let us back up a bit....
    1. Before connecting camera to computer, you go to Computer and view the computer's drives there -  what do you see - under Hard Disk Drives and Devices with Removable Storage?  Just C and F? After you make a USB connection between the camera and the computer, what do you see in Computer for the drives C and F or C, F, and something else?
    Details....
The camera is connected to the computer and to that Photo Downloader dialog via a USB connection.
When you do that, the camera folder should be represented as a removable disc in Computer with a Windows determined/assigned drive
letter. And, if you use the Premiere Elements/....../Photo Downloader dialog route, that drive letter should be available to you in the Source field of
    the Photo Downloader dialog.
What I am suspecting is the following - when you made the camera computer USB connection, Windows gave the letter F to that Camera Folder and bumped it off the mirrored F drive, perhaps giving it another letter.
So please let us get into Disk Management. What goes unexplained with this theory is how you can save the import to F drive if the Save In of the Photo Downloader is set to a C location.
We will be watching for your reply.

  • I can't save the data from an 8753SE VNA using the driver from NI

    Hi,
I'm using the labview 8.0 to control an 8753SE vector network analyzer (VNA). The VNA is supposed to be controlled using a driver from NI; however, I couldn't do that using the vi files from the driver. I'm using a GPIB cable from Agilent (http://www.home.agilent.com/agilent/product.jspx?nid=-34195.426029.00&cc=US&lc=eng) to connect the VNA to my PC. The GPIB cable is configured using Agilent IO libraries suite 15.5. Do you I need to use MAX to check if my PC is talking to my VNA? and if yes, how can I do that? If no, do you suggest any solutions to this dilemma?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ahmad

    Ahmad,
Did you try to establish connection to the VNA using Agilents connection expert which you downloaded with the IO libraries? To use the NI drivers I'm guessing you will be using NI-VISA. (Unless the driver is really old. I don't have this hardware and haven't downloaded that driver). If you have established a connection you must enter the correct address in the VISA resource for the initialization function. Wire your error lines to an indicator so you can see if anything goes wrong. See this thread for some issues other folks fixed.
    Hope this helps.
Note: you should have posted this to the Instrument Control board. This board is for NI instruments.

    Hello all,
I have a problem in using IVI driver (ke230y) to control keithley2303 powersupply with LABVIEW 2013.
After I initialize and config ke2303 well and run to  "IviDCPwr Measure [MSR].vi", it ocurrs errors. While lasting about 15 seconds and then reports errors as attached:
The code (attached) when I test with other powersupplies such as agilent66309d and keithley2306(with ivi driver ke230x), it runs well.
So I've no idear about this problem with keithley2303 powersupply, can you guys ever meet this problem and may reply for me to fix it.
thank you for your reading and help!

I don't have the any driver's source code (such as ividcpwr.dll source code), how can I modify the specific driver through labwindows.
Follow your advice I use I/O trace to get trace as follows:
    1 IviDCPwr_InitWithOptions ("ke2303", VI_FALSE, VI_TRUE, "", 0x0C913064) VI_SUCCESS 14:45:10.675
    2 IviDCPwr_ConfigureVoltageLevel (ke2303, "CHANNEL1", 3.8) VI_SUCCESS 14:45:11.405
    3 IviDCPwr_ConfigureCurrentLimit (ke2303, "CHANNEL1", 0, 3) VI_SUCCESS 14:45:12.104
    4 IviDCPwr_ConfigureOutputEnabled (ke2303, "CHANNEL1", VI_TRUE) VI_SUCCESS 14:45:12.824
    5 IviDCPwr_Measure (ke2303, "CHANNEL1", 1, 0) VI_ERROR_TMO 14:45:16.207
    6 IviDCPwr_GetError (ke2303, -1073807339, 0, "") 0x00000037 14:45:32.991
    7 IviDCPwr_GetError (ke2303, -1073807339, 55, "Primary Error: ..................") VI_SUCCESS 14:45:32.991
    8 IviDCPwr_close (ke2303) VI_SUCCESS 14:45:33.847
I cannot see any GPIB command in the trace but some IviDCPwr functions.
Besides, if I know any bug (eg. some wrong GPIB command) in ividcpwr.dll, how can I modify it before I get it's source code.
Pls teach me anytime in your conveneince.

  • SCCM 2012 - Windows 7 OSD wrong driver letter?

    Hi,
I am having issues with SCCM 2012 OSD / MSD 2012 and deploying Windows 7
I am using a captured WIM and I have noticed that on a machine it deploys
to the E: drive even if I have not data on the hard disk (I have cleaned it
with diskpart). So when the task Sequence is finished it the Windows
directory is E:\Windows which is not what I want.
Now what I thought I would try is moving the CD-ROM drive to a different
SATA controller from AHCI port 2 to AHCI Port 3.
Now this made the OS deploy correctly to C: with the final state being C:\Windows
    1. So my questions are "How" does SCCM determine what the final logical drive that
    windows will be put on?
    2. Is there a way I can force it to be C: drive no matter what port my CD-ROM is on?
    3. Also if I am using UEFI and Bitlocker is the logic the same?
    4. I have noticed when I run diskpart and do list volumes the CD-ROM drive appears?
in the list is this normal?
It seems very bizzare the way it works.
    Thanks,
    Ward.

    Hi,
Thanks for your response actually we are already doing that. :)
Sorry I will re-correct my original post something I did not point out - opps - is we are trying to build these by USB.
It seems that if there is a clean partition and the system boots and happens to choose allocate either the USB key or DVD rom to C: drive then the OS will install on the wrong drive.
So my idea of moving it to another controller seems to make it better but not consistently reliable.
It seems to work if the following conditions are true - need to do a more testing to confirm:
The DVD rom shows up and USB not using the C: so it seems the it will work.
If there is already a partition on the drive called C: and it is already allocated then all seems ok as well
So can I get some more clarity on this - I would like to be able to control it better :)
    Thanks,
    Ward

  • BLOBs in DB2 using DataDirect Driver

I am using DataDirect JDBC Type-4 driver to connect to DB2. I have requirement to store large serialized java
objects. For that initially I used BLOB type but when I call
    PreparedStatement.setBinarystream(colNo, inputStream, SerObjLength)
I get an error saying: VALUE OF INPUT HOST VARIABLE NUM {0} NOT USED; WRONG DATA TYPE.
As per DataDirect, they don't support BLOBs because DRDA restrictions(??). So I tried with CLOB. Now inserting
is fine but when I retirve data using ObjectInputStream.readObject() I get error: java.io.InvalidClassException:
java.util.Properties; Local class not compatible: stream classdesc serialVersionUID=4112578634029874751
    local class serialVersionUID=4112578634029874840.
Now my question is, can we use CLOB for storing serialized
objects? If not, what data type I can use for this to work or what are the other solutions.
Any help on this is highly appreciated!!
    thanks in advance,
    dw

i have the same problem. when i try to insert a binary on a blob colum says:
"LOB col cannnot be selected by DRDA "
(?????? help!). what does it means ?
when i used other drivers (hit db2) tell the same message. what is the problem with db2?? anyone ?
anyone has a example that insert a blob in a blob colum with sucess in db2 ??
    thanks

  • Difference between using app server connection pooling and using the driver

    Hi all,
How to get connection pooling with out application server and tomcat also?
What is the difference between using app server connection pooling and using the driver supported connection pooling?

maybe the performance of App server pool is better than the JDBC pool,
for you don't know wether the implementation of the JDBC interface is good or bad.

  • TM backup: can I use two drives to back up data on two other drives?

    Hi to all!
    I have with me a 1 TB/ Thunderbolt EHD [external hard drive], a Lacie 2 TB/FW, EHD, a Seagate 2 TB/ 2 USB, EHD, a Seagate 3 TB/ 2 USB, EHD and [to be purchased] a Seagate 2 TB/ 2 USB, EHD.
I mainly use my Mac for making HD videos using FCPX.
I am planning to use these drives in the following manner as indicated by the table below:
    Drive:
    a
    1 TB,
    Thunderbolt,
    Buffalo
    b
    2 TB/ FW
    LaCie
    c
    2 TB/ 2 usb
    Seagate
    d
    3 TB/ 2 usb
    Seagate
    e
    2 TB/ 2 usb
    Seagate backup
    [to be purchased]
    f
    500 GB, internal
    Macintosh HD
    Partitions
    1
    1
    1
    2
    1
    USAGE:
    editing videos, one
    active project at a time
    mainly for camera
    archives, music files,
    FCP events, projects
    and exported movies
    same as the LaCie,
    as a backup of data
    intend to have 2
    partitions of 1.5 TB each;
    one partition for personal
    data and the other partition
to back up data on the
    Thunderbolt [current project]
    intend to use this for
    TM back up of my
    Mac's internal HD
    applications, documents etc.
    backed up by:
    one partition of 'd'
    by the 2 TB Seagate
    backup 'e'
I would like to know whether I could do these things:
Can I use the TM backup feature in this manner of using 2 separate drive/partition [e/d] to back up data on 2 other drives [f and a]?
Further, I am manually copying files from 'b' drive to 'c' drive; without incurring further expense, can I ensure that whatever I write onto the LaCie [b] gets copied to the 'c' drive automatically?
Any thoughts, suggestions and instructions in these matters are welcome.

    EXT. DRIVES:
    a
    1 TB
    Thunderbolt
    b
    2 TB/FW
    [LaCie]
    c
    2 TB/ USB
    [Seagate]
    d
    3 TB/USB
    [Seagate]
    e
    2 TB/USB
    [Seagate]
    USAGE:
    scratch disk
    [planning to have
    only one active
    project at a time]
    camera footage
    FCPX events, projects
    and completed movies
    Same as the LaCie,
    as it's backup
    To be used as TM
    backup for my Mac's
    internal and also to
    the scratch disk.
    Planning to have it in
    2 partitions: to have
    a 'secondary' copy of
    my Mac's IHD on one
    partition and to have
    personal 'net retrievable'
    data on the other partition.
    'MY
    OBSERVATIONS'
    my projects are usually
    less than 10 minutes
    and hence I trust that
work would be fast and in
    case of drive failure, I
    would be losing only
    one project.
    I am importing camera footage
    primarily into this drive and
    being FW, data transfer is
    fast.
    Am manually copying
    files from the LaCie
    onto this.
    This drive is not a
    brand new one, but
    has been given to me
    by the company's
    agent as a replacement
to my earlier 2 TB drive
    which had failed.Hope
    this also will not fail!
    Because of the 'uncertain'
    performance of the
    3 TB Seagate, I intend
to have a copy of my
    Mac's IHD in one
partition. I intend to place only
    such data upon the other
partition that I will not be
    greatly affected should the
    drive fail.
If you can analyse this plan and give your insight upon this matter, I will be immensely happy.
Further, if this proposed use of the 3 TB Seagate is okay with you, I need to know how to remove the Thunderbolt from doing it's temporary role of TM backup and how to coronate the 3TB Seagate as its successor.
FYI, I would be switching off TM from functioning whenever I am editing video; I would be switching it on only after a full editing session.
Another question on my mind is this: do I need to partition the drive 'e' at all?

  • Print a file to printer wirelessly and without need to use CD drive to install driver?

I have a HP-P1006 printer in my conference room and sometimes my guest want to send print to my printer and I have to connect their laptop with USB cable to my printer and install printer driver thought CD Drive. I want to know if there is a way to print a file to printer wirelessly and without need to use CD drive to install driver? (I don't have a wireless network in my conference room)

Is it possible to automate Adobe Reader to load files, then set the staple property and location, then print them out? I've seen in .NET 3.0 that there is a Enumeration for Stapling in the System.Printing Namespace. I need to figure out how to automate the printing in adobe but right before it prints, have .NET assign the printer and whether it should be stapled or not.

  • Can't resize partition after upgrading to Yosemite (using SSD drive)

I upgraded to 10.10 and using SSD drive now. When I was using OS X 10.8.5, I could freely resize partition but not anymore. I guess because of the SSD drive and the new version of OS X, and Logical Volume Group could be involved. I don't want to waste 80 GB of SSD drive so really looking for a solution now. Thanks in advance.

Yes, that's exactly what I did. I had to go back to my old snow leopard install DVD, use the disk utility on that to repartition the drive. I made 2 partitions, installed Snow Leopard on one, used that to install Yosemite on the other partition and trashed the snow leopard install.
I haven't yet tried the Yosemite USB install method which would have probably been faster as I could have avoided installing SL.

  • Use one drive for attachments using outlook

using the portal or OWA you can use one drive for attachments rather then adding the file to the e mail itself , i was wondering if we will have this feature on outlook soon

    Hi,
As you have known, in Outlook client there is no such feature right now, we need to insert the OneDrive file link manually to the new message if we want to attach a file.
I can't guarantee if this feature will be added in the further version, but please be assured that any improvements in the product are based on users' requirements. Our developers strive to capture Microsoft users' ideas and are working hard to create a
