Organizing albums in Photos

How can I organize albums in Photos ?
For example, I have 10 albums and I want album #1 to become album #10.
With iPhoto, I used to drag the album where I wanted it to be.
I tried with Photos and it doesn't work !THANK YOU for your Help !

Photo Organizing/Album management

How can I create albums of photos on the phone itself. I know the stock answer is :
"Organize the photos on your computer/iPhoto and sync"
but I'm not really in a position to do that:
1) I rarely (once or twice a month?) sync my phone/laptop - everything I need comes over exchange.
2) I rarely use iPhoto. PhoneGap is so much faster.
3) I do a lot of work on my phone and want to be able to shuffle screen grabs, saved photos etc into various groups as I take them.
Is there no 3rd party App that allows photo album management? It seems through some quick web searching that I'm not the only person looking for a solution along these lines This could be a popular app if someone were to write it.

You might be looking for the wrong thing....
Instead of an app that lets you organize the Photo Library (there won't be), there might be an app that pulls all the photos from the Photo Library into itself, and lets you mess with them there. This one might do that, little hard to tell:

Iphoto and organizing albums...

I'm slowly learning iphoto and I'm having a hard time with organizing albums/folders. I like to organize my pictures by using albums/folders like in windows. I've created albums/folders and I'm taking the photos from events and putting them into these newly named albums/folders. The problem is that when I go to move them around to organize by my preference, I can't drop and drag without the album/folder going into another album/folder. It does allow me to drop to the bottom, but it goes into the last album/folder and then I have to move it out of that. It's very cumbersome and there has to be an easier way, I'm making due, but I'm doing things that are very confusing and time consuming.

Folder drag and drop the same way as albums do. Movie Test Folder 1 to between the other two folders:

Importing and Organizing Thousands of Photos into IPhoto

How can I import about 20 thousands photo into IPhotos and keep the logical organization?
I just buy a Mac Mini and I start trying to move my photos. These are organized in directories by dates with a customize description for the occasion ( …/YEAR/YEAR-MONTH-DAY + DESCRIPTION/)
I tried with few directories and I realized that in order to use IPhoto and keep the logical organization I will have to create and name about 500 albums manually and look for the photos for every album again one by one.
It sounds hard because the number of albums and photos.

There is a 3rd party application, iPhotoTool, that will let you select the top folder containing many subfolders and import all of them into iPhoto and create an album of each sub folder. That will save you a lot of manual work. Then all you need to do is create folders in the Source pane to organize your albums. Be sure to not allow duplicates each time it asks or you'll get duplicates in many of the folders. You'll be asked for each subfolder above the lowest but that's lot easier than manually finding and dragging each folder into iPhoto's Source pane.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Deleting album called "Photos" under iPhoto

After importing my iPhoto library, three folders showed up in Aperture. A "root" folder called iPhoto, and two sub-folders - "events" and "Photos." The import was to add iPhoto to the Aperture library (masters). I have re-organized the event projects out of the iPhoto folder. Now all that is left is the album titled "photos." My question is this - can I now delete this folder. When I place the cursor over it, it says "2046 versions."

Delete Album will only remove the album. The image masters reside in a project and will remain there.
Deleting a folder will remove everything in it to the trash. If there are projects in the folder all the masters in the project go to the trash. Remove any projects you need first. Allan

Can i share existing albums of photos from my photo library with friends straight to icloud rather than having to create a new shared folder and then select the individual photos rather than a whole album??

Ok to clarify -
1. i want to go into my photos on my iphone 6.
2. create a new folder in shared folders.
3. Add an entire album of photos from my photo library rather than having to select individual photos.
4. Share with friends.
Surely the reason i have saved certain photos into albums already from my mac means i like the selection already. So i would like to just share the whole album rather than having to select all the individual photos from the album. Ive tried but maybe im being a doofus and missing something??????
Any help would be most appreciated.

This is normal and is how Apple handles photos.
There are NOT duplicate photos.
Just as a song is in your itunes library and you can access that exact same song from a playlist, all photos synced to iphone are in the photo library and those exact same photos (NOT duplicates) can be accessed from the individual albums.
It is working exactly as it should.

At the moment you can't - though it should be possible (if it makes it into the final release) in iOS 5 which will be available sometime in the Autumn. Photos cannot currently be moved between albums on the iPad.
If you sync separate folders from your computer you'll get an album for each of them on the iPad, and you have to sync all the folders/albums that you want together as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad (not including a folder in a sync is the way that you delete it from the iPad).

HT1688 I've created a sharing album on Photo Stream. I've entered my husbands icloud email address so that I can share it with him but he is not receiving the invitations. Can you please let me know if I am doing something wrong?

I've created an album on Photo Stream and I've added my husbands icloud email address (subscribers) as well as mine (just to test it out) and invitations say that they have been sent but no emails are generated or received. I have checked my emails spam folder just in case but nothing has been received. Please help!

This does not answer my question. I'm doing everything correctly but no email is generating that asks the "subscriber" to be invited to see my album.

My album "my photo stream" isn't on my iPad. Where did it go. I've checked iCloud settings & photo settings. I have rebooted my iPad as well. All updates are complete.

If you are missing the My Photo Stream album on your iPad, then you may have the iCloud Photo Library beta enabled. When you enable this option, it removes the Camera Roll and My Photo Stream albums from your device.

Can no longer open photo album in photo editors get apps without crashing

Since last iOS update I am no longer able to open my photo album in photo editing apps like Snapseed etc.As soon as I open the photo album the app crashes. I have reinstalled iOS update through iTunes also changed various settings for photo app and reinstalled photo editing apps without success. I have run out of ideas. Please let me if you have any ideas or suggestion on how to fix this.

I Start a New am so frustrated with problems syncing photos on my iPad. I choose which files to sync but get deleted photos in my albums, my photos are in the wrong albums and the weirdest of all- I now have strange graphics and Facebook photos in albums!

I have spent several hours trying to find a solution to the following problems. After syncing my IPad with ITunes, I end up with photos that I previously deleted in my albums, duplicate photos, albums that have wrong pictures in them and weirdest of all, strange graphics and Facebook photos that are not even mine. Right now I hate this thing!
I have scanned the support forums, Googled it, deleted several photo caches, spent days editing my photo files, checked the specific folders I wanted to sync and it seems like it's not syncing, just adding the same photos and strange crap that it already had on it. Oh please help me!

OK....I'm stumped. The message you are seeing is typically there to protect someone from syncing with a different computer/iTunes account. Is there any way anyone else has used your iPad and possibly connected it to their computer?

However, this test was for photos in a folder on the Desktop. I didn't have a memory card to test so you may have to move the pictures from the card to a folder on the Desktop and import from there.

Have you tried deleting the photo cache from your computer and then re-trying the photo sync and see if they all then copy over (you need to select and sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go, as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad) ? Don't know about the Facebook photo emailing, but there are a number of apps that allow to upload photos to their site (e.g. the 'official' Facebook app).
(For future info, typing all in capitals is considered SHOUTING - you are more likely to get help/responses if you don't.)

IPad 1, how to delete albums in photo?

I have an ipad1 with ios5+ operating on it. I want to delete albums in photo. How do it do it?

1. If album was created directly on the iPad then you should be able to delete it using the Edit button.
2. If album was synced from a computer then it can't be deleted directly on the iPad, you will need to reconnect the iPad to your computer's iTunes, de-select that album/folder on the Photos tab and re-sync.
