Organizing Mail by Sender.
Hello everyone.
I'm getting a little weary of reading all of my mail by simply going to the top of the list. I'm the kind of person who doesn't delete anything either.
So I just saw the "Organize by Thread" option under the View menu. Love it!
Here's what I want to do though. Organize by Thread is really cool, as it sorts similar emails together. What I really like about it is when you click on an expandable subject, the preview window shows all of the subjects, which you can click on and view the individual mails. As far as what I want to do, I want to have "Organize by Thread" be "Organize by Sender", so that in my inbox all I see is only one unique sender, with every email that they've sent me under them. That way when I click on that sender, I can see any unread mail that I have in the preview pane, click on that and see the message.
As an added bonus if any of that is even possible, would I be able to sort the contacts in my inbox by received date? I realize everything I just said is probably very confusing, but if anyone can help I'd appreciate it!
I made some smart folders but I never even use them.. sorting by sender would be a lot better in my opinion. To the best of my knowledge M$ outlook can do this but who wants to use that.

Mail doesn’t do what you want, and you shouldn’t use Inbox for archiving purposes either. If you want to keep all your mail, you should organize it in custom mailboxes instead of keeping everything in Inbox -- take a look at Mail Help’s “Organizing your email” and related articles.

Yesterday I uploaded Yosemite 10.10.2 thinking it was fixed by now. In Mail, my POP account gets this error message: Mail cannot send your password securely to the server. You can remove this restriction in the Accounts preferences by setting “Allow insecure authentication”, which could put your password at risk.
My provider says it's an Apple issue. The gmail accounts are logging in fine. Any help? Something simple?

Is that an Apple thing or do PCs have the same issues? Appreciate your help. I'll research insecure connections as I am ignorant of the consequences.

I have 4 email accounts in apple Mail. My mail is sending from the wrong account. even on "reply" it sends from a different account. I have 3 gmail accounts and one exchange server account. I choose which account to send from and it still sends from the same gmail account. Help.
I HAD two accounts because of this problem. I completely removed the problem account from the Apple Mail client. Guess what is happening?? That's right - Mail is still sending from the other account that no longer exists on my computer, and I have absolutely no idea how this is happening. This is incredibly frustrating. When a recipient chooses to reply to my message, quite often I won't get it now because it is going to the other account that has now been deleted from my system. COME ON APPLE!!! WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THIS???

Late 2012 imac 27", intel i7 core
When I upgraded to Yosemite, suddenly my email account (netvigator POP) gives an error:

I have shut down & restarted mail, but no success. If I select Allow insecure authentication, it works, but that's not a long term fix.
I also have a hotmail POP account enabled, and that is working fine.
What's happening Apple??

How can I make mail retry sending messages in the Outbox?
Howdy all,
As the title says how can a force Mail to try to resend the messages in the outbox? I use my MacBook Pro in a number of different environments and when I am on one flakey access point in particular or when I have forgotten to open Safari to reauthorize recently on another network Mail will fail to contact the SMTP server. When this happens my message gets stuck in the outbox to be sent later. My problem is that I do not know how to get it out of there effectively.
Once I have fixed the transitive error in the network (or or the problem fixes itself) how do I get the messages out of the inbox? At this point I can send more messages with no problem and they will happily go out but those in the queue just sit there.
Now, I have tried a number of things like quitting and restarting Mail, bringing the various network interfaces back up and down, and other things to try to trick Mail into sending the queued messages but that has been haphazard at best. I can't help thinking that there is something obvious I am missing.

You may even consider BCCing yourself to see whether the message actually goes or not, and you just have an artifact copy stuck in your outbox that you could then just delete.
Otherwise, copy&paste the stuck message body into a new message, and delete the stuck one out of the outbox before attempting to send the new one -

We have about 50 different daily subscriptions that go out. In the last month or so, probably over 30% of SSRS subscriptions are getting this error and no e-mail is sent. I have tested out the reports with the parameters and the reports run just
fine on demand for both the user and myself. I'll change the subscription forward for testing, and it will intermittently work or fail even when no traffic is hitting our database so I dont think it's a matter of performance.
I see nothing in the error logs, and I see nothing in the logtable 2, or 3 in ssrs as suggested by a few MSDB sites.
The only spot I can even see this error, is when viewing the subscription. I have done LOTS of searching, and most people get a helpful error after "Failure sending mail" where as I only get 'Failure sending mail: Failure sending mail"Hi,

I can not get my mail to send on my mac. It has been fine until about 2 hours ago, incoming mails are fine. I have jused all of my 3 accounts and I can't send from any og them (they are all on different servers) anyone have nay ideas on how I can fix this?
Jailbreaking violates the Apple warranty and licensing agreement and voids ALL support from Apple. No one on here can help you as doing so is a violation of the Terms of Use of these Communities. If you send the iPad to Apple they will just send it back to you as they are not permitted to work on a machine that has been jailbroken.

I need to use Mail Adapter Sender with MAPI protocol.
I have create my Comunication Channel of type IMAP4 and configured URL as mapi://server and actved one.
In RWB appears the message "mail client job stopped completly"
Can anybody help me?The URL must be: imap://server/inbox
This is hard coded in the mail adapter and cannot be changed.
Only imap4 and pop3 are supported.

How can I force Mail to send email requesting a server DSN?
I would like mail to send every message with a server DSN request (the RFC1891 type). I found "tech savvy" info on this archived thread:

But, I am not a technical person, so, how can I get mail to do this in practise? Or would there be a utility/add-on/plug-in that allows for this?First thing to try: go to System Preferences>iCloud and uncheck 'Mail' in the list there. Then re-check it. Give it time to settle in. Go to Mail Preferences>Accounts (not 'Accounts' in the 'Mail' menu) and select your iCloud account. You should see this:
'Email address' (greyed out) is your login - this should be your @me.com address. The 'Alias' drop-down menu should both versions of your address - @me.com and @icloud.com/ - plus any aliases you have set up.
(the image is from Mavericks, I would expect Yosemite to be much the same).
If this hasn't worked, try clicking the Sign Out button in System Preferences>iCloud. It wouldn't hurt to reboot; then sign back in again. Your iCloud synced data will disappear when you sign out but will reappear when you sign back in (give it time). -
mac mail keeps sending emails from my different accounts even though it says correct email in "sent" folder and correct email account was highlighted. Recipients reply and it goes to different email address. So confusing and annoying.

I had the same issue and managed to solve it.
Go into Mail>Preferences>Accounts
Then in the account information tab, at the bottom should be outgoing mail server (SMTP) and click the drop down box
Mine had a few different servers in it so i went into edit SMPT server list. Click advanced and it will tell you which ones are going from which email address.
Delete the ones you dont want, and it should work or instead of deleting click use only this server, i imagine that will work to

Issue with how Mail displays sender and recipient names in message list

I've been looking for a solution but had no luck so far.
Here's the issue:
In Mail, the sender email address or the recipient name would sometimes be displayed twice between chevrons.
For example, sometimes in my sent folder, in the "To" column, the recipient name is displayed twice like this <[email protected]> <[email protected]> whereas it used to be displayed once and without chevrons. This happened since i have reinstalled Snow Leopard (clean install).

When I send an email from Apple mail, it send inbedded links, not embedded, my font shows as plain text and signature sends as attachment??
inbedded is not a word.

IPhoto crashes when using Mail to send photos
Hello All,
I hope that someone can help me with this issue. I am using MAIL to send photos via the iPhoto button. Everytime I try sending a photo using this method, the computer freezes up and I can't even forcequit, restart, open up AMON..nothing! Someone please explain to me why it is doing this and what possible solutions there are. I looked on the forums for a previously posted issue, and I wasn't able to find anything.
