Organizing Movies/Videos on Itunes/Itouch

I have some instructional golf videos that are itunes compatible which i purchased outside of the itunes store. i need to group them into folders (ie swing, fitness, short game, etc..). While i can create a playlist folder (ie golf) with subfolders (swing, fitness, etc), when i synch my itouch these folders (and the videos inside the folders) and not copied to my itouch. rather, the individual videos are only copied with the rest of my movies and the result is they are on my itouch in alphabetical order. my question is there a way to organize itune compatible non-music videos into folders which will be recongized and copied over to my itouch when synching......

I created a playlist but it did not work. The videos are copied individually in no specific order in movies rather than within the playlist folder i created within itunes.

Movies/videos causing iTunes to shut down

My laptop recently crashed and the hard drive replaced. Fortunately all my music; movies; videos; and tv shows were on my Ipod classic. I reloaded itunes. Now the movies cause itunes to stop stating it cannot find the movie. The icon is there but no movie. The movies are still on my ipod and work great! I bought a new movie and it works fine no issues. Any ideas as to how to get my movies back onto the laptop so I can watch them Like I want to? The only thing I can think to do is to erase iTunes and start from scratch again. I can back up the ipod to another computer. ( I did that last time)

Now downloading my CD"s is creating the same problem. I now cannot even bring up the itunes on my laptop is has shut down due to movies/videos and CD downloads! What can I do? Please I need major help and calling itunes was useless they wanted to charge me for iTunes help!

How do you add personal movies/videos to iTunes

I have repeatedly tried to drag/drop my personal videos into itunes on my NEW iMac (mountain lion) with no success. They are .mov videos. It appears Apple is forcing you to purchase their products in order to get it into itunes to play on apple TV. I hope this is not the case.

You may want to try playing the video in QuickTime Player, to make sure it's compatible with iTunes.

Move video from iTunes to external HD and then delete from internal HD?

How do I move certain TV shows and movies from my iTunes library (stored on my internal HD) to a new external HD (it's a 500GB WD Passport Studio)? I want to free up some space on my computer so after I transfer the videos to my external HD I plan on deleting the originals. If I do this, will I be able to easily plug in my external HD and play the transferred videos on iTunes without any problems?
I've searched all over for an easy answer to this but can't find any. Please help! Help of ANY kind would be amazing!

iTunes doesn't really have a way to move only TV/movies. It can only move the whole shebang - music, podcasts, TV, movies, apps, all of it.
It moves it all when you run the consolidate command.
If you only want to move a few things, you can move the TV/movies yourself using Windows Explorer. This will make itunes lose the paths. You would then have to right-click>Get Info on the items you moved, and browse to their new locations, so itunes knows where they are.
If you are moving a lot of files, it might be easier to
- delete them in itunes
- move the files using Win Exp
- re-add them to itunes
The drawback to this method is losing ratings, play counts, and date added metadata. But you wouldn't have to re-locate them for itunes one-by-one.

Hi, I am trying to buy and download movie's from the itunes music store. Is this possible or can you only purchase music? How do I do it? I went through the full tutorial for itunes and it only talks about music and podcasts...Can someone help me...thanks

you can got ot your local video sttore and purchase movies there that you would like to own. And then you can convert the movies to the ipod format and then sync the video files to itunes and sync them to your ipod. I dont think that i ned to name places where you can purchase movies right?????? That said then you will need to convert the movies.
First you will need to tellus what operating system your using before we offer solutions for you.

No sound on movies / videos in itunes

i recently upgraded itunes, (which i always upgrade whenever there is a new download avaliable.) since doing that, none of my movies/music videos play with any sound but music plays fine.

Try MPEG Streamclip instead of iTunes for converting your video files.

Quicktime 7 not playing videos from Itunes...

So recently I noticed my Quicktime 7 has been acting strange. It used to play all my videos flawlessly... it still does, although i've noticed movies bought from the itunes store wont play anymore. When I try to open the file on QT 7 I get the black screen but then It exits out and I get the "Quicktime 7 Has Quit Unexpectedly" and I get the Kern_Protection_Failure log ( whatever that is) It's weird, before every file i tried worked perfectly, but now I cant get them to play.... Is There any fix to this or has Quicktime 7 completely stopped supporting movies/videos from Itunes? ******Oh, by the way They DO however play in Quicktime X****** I''m running 2009 macbook pro 13-inch OSX 10.6.8 and All software is up to date. It's getting frustrating. I've looked all over but no luck. Any Help Would be appreciated. Thanks

How do I get .mov video onto my 80gig iPod?

I have followed the instructions but I keep getting an error message saying that it can not be viewed on my iPod. I have the 5th gen 80gig model which should do video just fine. I have downloaded the .mov video into iTunes but it will not let me put it on the iPod, I keep getting the same error message. There is plenty of room on the iPod. Also, is there a why to convert Video_TS files so they can also go onto the iPod?

Not sure of what instructions you followed, here is a link on how to convert files for playing on your ipod. It includes freeware programs that work well. There are many, many free programs out there. Be advised that there are spammers that fish this site and will lead you to there pay sites. Issues syncing movies/video

I thought there was an option to convert movies/videos in itunes? I did it before. I see the videos in my library but what is the blue dot next to the file name?

Do you have any better luck with that if you update to iTunes 10.6.1.7?

Apparently the person wrote about the video format that is supported by ipod touch. I realised I converted my movie/video to beyond the supported size of 640 by 480 pixels so now I'm tryin to re-convert my movie to that of the supported size. I don't know if its helpful since I don't know if iTunes is supposed to help you to 'resize' ur video etc.
If upon reconversion to the right size and my video works, I'd post here again. (:

Movie downloaded from itunes not playing on ipod video

I bought a movie off of itunes and downloaded it to my ipod video. But the movie won't play on my ipod. It plays perfectly fine on my computer. Why isn't playing on my ipod video? Is there something i have to do first before videos are able to play on my ipod?

Is it one film or all of them? I'm having a similar problem where this one film I accidentily deleted that used to play got reloaded and now plays fine on my computer but won't sync onto my iPod. Everything's checked off and ready to go on my computer, but when I sync the film simply isn't there.

ITunes 11 won't import .mov video files from external hard drive but will from internal.

I'm having a problem with iTunes 11.0.1. I can't import .mov video files stored on an external hard drive. I can however import .m4v files from the same external drive. Using either the add to library option or dragging files from the finder.
I can add .mov files from the internal though. Strange I know.
The reason behind this posting is that I'm using iFlicks to convert my TV and movies from my external drive for Apple TV and add all relevent meta data, keeping the files on the external drive and having iTunes link to them.
I would like to be able to simply create a general iTune compatiable file using iFlicks which only takes a minute or two per file to convert. I'm currently converting them to .m4v just for the sack of being able to import them into iTunes from an external drive takes 45 minutes per file.
Has anybody else had this problem? Any ideas on a fix to allow me to import .mov files from an external drive into iTunes without copying it to the iTune library file.

This might be worth a shot - basically seeing if Vista permissions could be the culprit.
Give yourself FULL control and ownership of the exHD, let's call it M:

Take control of the top level folder and ALL subfolders.
Try creating a new blank ITL file on M: by pressing *and holding* the shift key while itunes starts. See if you can add everything again.

Recently I have install windows 7 in my old laptop since then the program Itunes show one music library at the top of Itunes and another bellow my device. The problem is that I can upload music to the top library but I can't move them to my Itouch librar

I do not understand what you mean about two libraries. Can you post a screen shot?

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar

ITunes won't sync videos to iPod (no "Movies" tab in iTunes either)

Hey... I really hope you could help me somehow, I'm really desperate..
So few days ago I was able to sync videos to iPod 30GB and everything went well. When I added some more videos to iTunes and connected iPod in order to sync those videos everything stopped working. All of my music and pics are still in the iPod, but videos are gone completely. There is no "Videos/Movies" tab in iTunes (iPod actually) nor "Images" tab... How can fix this??

I'm suspecting that you don't have the video iPod. Although your iTunes supports video, there is absolutely no reference to video on the iPod portion of the screen. Also, there's no Photo tab and no Games tab.
Further, the iPod software version number is completely out of whack. The latest version for the Generation-5 iPod is 1.2.1 yet you have 6.0. Finally, your serial number doesn't look quite right. I have absolutely confirmed that that is not a serial number for the "late 2006 Generation-5" unit but I can't get sample serial numbers from the earlier Gen-5 units.
