Organizing photos in a "shuffle" mode

In iPhoto I can organize photos in folders by "all, date, keyword or rating." However I wish to create DVDs of family photos via iMovie so as to use the advantages of iMovie, as themes, transitions and music. The final program is more pleasing if there is a random shuffling of the photos, not a fixed sequence based on dates, which is my main method of storing photos.
You will note that one can shuffle photos within slideshows on the computer and on ATV. And the screen savers on the computer and ATV are shuffled.
I wish to create a folder of photos to transfer to iMovie, the photos arranged in a random (but then fixed) manner in this folder. Rearranging many photos manually is unacceptable. I recommended to Apple that they add "Shuffle" to the present selection of date, keyword or rating, but have never received a response or reason. (Note that iTunes allows the shuffling of music playlists under Genius.)
Do you know of a way to arrange a shuffled photo folder to use in iMovie? Thanks for your help.

Get the photos in the album in the "random" order you want. Then open iMovie, click on the photos icon in the toolbar at the middle right of iMovie, find that album and drag the contents into the Project Library window of iMovie. They will be in the order that you set in iPhoto.

Thank you Winston. I guess we need to ask that this feature gets added at least as an option in an upcoming release. When someone is using shuffle, it helps to know what is playing while viewing pictures.

60 Gig Photo, will only shuffle all songs, want to shuffle by genre

I have a 60 Gig Photo, and I can sort by genre, and I can set it to repeat by genre, but if I push shuffle it immediatley starts shuffling all songs, not just the genre I selected. Also, if I do this in reverse order, it does not work either.
Any hints?

I'm not quite clear on this. You want to shuffle all the songs within a particular genre, right?
If so, go to settings/shuffle and set it to songs. Then select your preferred genre and press play. All the songs within that genre will be played back in shuffle mode.

If you go to the Now Playing screen, the Repeat control is the the arrowed racetrack icon on the left side right below the scrubber bar. Tap the icon to change. It is white when Repeat is off.

While playing any song on your iPod, tap the artwork to bring up the scrubber bar and additional controls. On the left hand side is a option for repeat. You want to make sure this icon is white (meaning it is set to Off). If it isn't tap it either one or two times to change its current setting.
Any luck there?

Creative ZEN Stone Shuffle Mode?

%Creative ZEN Stone > Shuffle Mode? I recently bought a Creative ZEN Stone 2GB (2nd generation) MP3 Player. I created one folder with random music I like to listen to while making sports which I'd like to play in Shuffle mode and some other folders containing some complete albums, ordered with numbers in front of the file names. If I switch to the "sports" folder an choose Shuffle mode, the player seems to shuffle all the files on the Player. Of course I'd like it to shuffle only the files contained in the "sports" folder, listening to ambient music during sports doesn't motivate me too much you know. And if I want to play the "ambient"-folder in Shuffle mode, I don't want to listen to power metal at all.
Did I miss something or is the Player unable to shuffle one single folder? Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you choose Shuffle mode, it shuffles all the files on the Player, regardless of any folders.
Is there any (probably 3rd-party) firmware out there with which I can make my Creative ZEN Stone 2GB (2nd generation) shuffle only one single folder?

When you say second generation, do you mean zen stone with speaker or/and screen
On the zen stone plus with speaker ( and screen) you can shuffle just the contents of a folder without playing anything from another folder b y doing this:
Music > select a folder select play mode, select shuffle folder, job done.

I may have found a software bug. Ver 12.0.1.26 Was playing in non shuffle mode. Turned shuffle back on but it is not doing it. Any guesses?

Ipod nano 6th generation cuts off some songs while in the shuffle mode

When I'm listening to music in my playlist (shuffle mode) some of the same songs get cut off short. If I listen to the same song in the Artist folder, no problem. Anyone had this issue?

Ipod Nano is Stuck in Shuffle Mode in my Nissan Juke

I plug my Ipod Nano into the glove box and I am able to use the control on my dash and steering wheel to control my Ipod. The only problem is, I can't go to whatever artist I want. The Ipod will only allow me to listen to the songs in shuffle mode. Anyone having the same issue or know anything about it?

I have the same problem with my 6g when connecting to my Ford Fusion. It shuffles everything.
I have:
-- performed a "master reset" on Sync
-- updated Sync software
-- restored my new ipod through iTunes
-- restored the settings on the ipod itself
-- updated ipod software
-- *disabled the "shuffle" options for Sync*
-- *turned off the "Shake to Shuffle" option on my new ipod*
-- indexed the music on my iPod (through iTunes) in this order: genre, artist, album, track
...and it still shuffles my music. I don't believe it's Sync because I had a 2nd generation iPod too. It works with Ford's Sync with no problems.
So, this is the same issue with the 6 generation iPod nano with 2 different car companies and 2 different vehicle models:
--Nissan Juke
--Ford Fusion
I think it's a bug that needs addressing.

Will it register as a new device with an iTunes file of its own, or will it duplicate what I already have on the original iPod?

You can attach the second iPod and configure it to sync whatever content you like without affecting the first iPod. I would take a look at this article for different ways to manage multiple iPods on one computer.

Shuffle 3G is 'stuck' in straight play and won't switch to shuffle mode.

The shuffle when in shuffle mode shuffles the songs reasonably randomly and when i staright mode, I can access all my playlists BUT if i switch from shuffle to straight and the want to switch back to shuffle the problem begins. The shuffle will then only play straight mode in either position of the switch, ie straight or shuffle position and the only way to correct it is to connect the shuffle to itunes [not do a restore] until the sync is complete [a matter of seconds]. I have tried resetting the shuffle and moving the switch from shuffle to straight and the back to shuffle [page 21 of the manual] and neither make any difference.I have restored the unit a bout 3 times and it still happens.
So, why is this happening? Is there something i should be doing? Or do i need to change the shuffle? I have even used different earphones [Apple and 3rd party with Belkin Adapter] and that makes no difference either. Help and advice please

I prefer the 7th Generation Nano and Bluetooth headset. Get plugs for the heaphone and lightning jack or put it in water resistant case to prevent perspiration from killing it. You can turn off shake to shuffle in settings.

My first Shuffle (1st Gen) slide switch began behaving erratically... it would slide past the first position and was difficult to reposition in the play-in-order position.
At the time it was 1 month old and was replaced at an Apple Store. It's been working fine for over a year.
The slider can get crud under it and can be removed carefully when in the OFF position by sliding a butter knife blade under it from the bottom. it will pop up IF the operation is done carefully. DO NOT attempt this IF your Shuffle is under warranty...

In the image menu, goto the mode sub menu, then choose 8 or 16 bit.

everything is working great for the msot part except for the exception of shuffle mode i was trying it last ngiht and some songs would skip, make weird noises, or for any song i had a music video for the audio version in shuffle mode would seem unusually soft on full blast..if any one knows what to do please tell me. oh, and yes i already tried updating it but apparently im all up to date

Problem with the shuffle mode in Z V P

Hi everbody,?I have a problem with my Z V Plus and I was?wondering if anyone could help. The problem is that when I listen to a playlist in the shuffle mode and then for any reason switch off the player, when I resume listening the player lose track of all the songs played before and starts the playlist from the beginning (i.e.) it repeats the tracks I've already listened to the last time. What makes the problem worse is that it seems that player gets fond of a certaing group of songs and just keeps playing them over and over again preferring them to other songs in the playlist. It's worth mentioning that I'm using the "shuffle" not the "shuffle repeat" mode and that I've already updated my player with the latest firmware. Also to be specific I've to mention that sometimes I press the "pause" button before switching off the player, other times I don't. Thoughts anyone?

Do you have an Arabic version of Firefox installed which isn't displaying the vowelization correctly, or are you trying to read it using an English language version?
