Organizing pictures before burning to cd

I have created a "folder" under "events" of all pictures taken in 2006 and 2007.
I need to create an album with "sub" divisions of different pictures within these time frames . I know how to create the album from this specific time period, but I can't seem to break down the specific pictures into groups after I create the album.
Does this have to be done "prior" to creating the album and if so how?

georgia
Some clarifications of Terms:
Photos go into Albums.
Albums go into Folders
Events go into nothing.
So, do you mean you’ve created an Album of ”all pictures taken in 2006 and 2007"?
You cannot have “sun-albums. So the trick is to make albums of these sub-groups and then put those Albums into a Folder.

  • How can I keep timing in Keynote consistent before burning?

How can I keep timing in Keynote consistent before burning? And also, is there a way to preview the show, say halfway through it, without the music starting at the beginning. This solution would save a lot of hours of prep  before that final burn?

I do tons of presentations and know exactly what you are talking about.  I have experienced presentations that (I know this sounds illogical) seem to get a little out of sync depending on the projector I am using for the presentation.
I know this is not a great soulution but it might help a little.  With 325 pictures make 3 presentations and link them together.  This is not pretty but may help some.  This way you have 3 specific points to start and edit from and won't experience as much of a domino effect if one is off.
If you are just using pictures and want a fairly automated presentation you might also think of using iMovie where you can have a little more flexibility with the soundtrack and timing.  If you use iMovie you can edit each picture individually as far as time and still be able to see where you are in the soundtrack in one "big picture" no pun intended.
Keynote is awesome in most things but there are a few that are still very quirky.
Hope this helps at least some.

  • What is the best way to safeguard my files and pictures before I send off my MacBook Pro to get fixed?

What is the best way to safeguard my files and pictures before I send off my MacBook Pro to get fixed? I am running Mavericks and use an AirPort Time Machine to back-up all my files.

Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. You need at least two independent backups to be completely safe. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional—ask if you need guidance.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you know how to restore to an empty drive.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair
Apple also recommends that you deauthorize a device in the iTunes Store before having it serviced.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

  • IDVD ejects dvd disc one minute early, before burning is completed. Why? What can I do to fix this?

iDVD ejects the dvd disc one minute early, before burning is completed. Why? What can I do to fix this? I have checked project via mapping and there are no problems with it. I have previewed the entire project and it runs fine.

    Good morning,
There could be a few reasons why the burn doesn't finish.  iDVD needs a lot of hard disk space to create the DVD -- 10-15 Gigs is starting to get low and under 5 G is virtually impossible.  Reduce the load on your Mac by quitting other applications while you're trying to burn.  Also, you may wish to break down your workflow into two steps (I do this routinely):
    1)  After you're satisfied in iDVD -- use the Save As Disc Image command rather than going directly to burn.  This creates a virtual DVD which you can mount and play on your Mac.
    2)  Second step creates the physical DVD from the disc image.  I use Roxio Toast to copy the disc image, but Apple's Disk Utility also works to burn the disc image.  Use good quality discs -- Verbatim is often recommended; I've been happy with Sony DVD-R as well.

Has anybody any idea, why my jpeg-picture upoaded to Photo Stream does not appear on my iPhone S4 like all the other pictures before?
Ok, it's a 4 year old picture, but taken with a digital camera as jpeg...! This cannot be the problem really, but I'm despaired after trying since days...! Thank you all for any hint you've got for me!

If you asking me, I would suggest to additonally use a second storage service which also allows you to store your pictures over the 30 days period. I personally use Dropbox with automatic upload for that (https://db.tt/cMEgDUFZ), but there are also other storage services like Flickr for example.

  • Shuffle multiple items before burning to cd?

A couple of questions here for you guys who are all smarter with iTunes than I am...
    1.  I have about 15,000 songs on my computer and I want to burn several completely randomly shuffled cds for long driving days.  Is it possible to shuffle the entire group (somehow?) then pull out groups of songs to put in another playlist before burning?
    2.  I can't seem to figure out HOW to shuffle the lot prior to breaking it up into groups of roughly 100 songs for the cd's.  Any help here?  Hate to have to go thru and pick things out alphabetically!  I want a nice mix of various artists and genres on each cd.
    3.  If I want to make sure not to have some of the same songs on more than one cd, how best to do this?  As suggested above, different playlists?  Or do I have to manually regroup before I shuffle and burn?
Any other thoughts or suggestions for this daunting task would be GREATLY appreciated!  Thanks in advance everyone.

What?  Views for this question, but no one has any suggestions!?  Please, someone bail me out of this quagmire of endless song editing and sorting!!??

  • HT1212 my phone is disabled and says connect to iTunes but i want to recover and save all my data's and pictures before restore

my phone is disabled and says connect to itunes but i want to recover my data's and pictures before restoring it with itunes.

You may need to put the iPad into recovery mode in order to be able to reset it : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If you haven't synced it to that computer before then you won't have a backup on it to restore your content from. Do you have any of your content on it for re-sycning and/or have you been backing up to the cloud ?
You can re-download your apps (if they are still in the store) via the Purchased tab in the App Store app, and you may be able to re-download music, films and tv shows via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app.

  • Preview window before burning DVD

Hi, my new DVD project is composed with 4 little movies. They all come from different images size. One is 1,33, one is 2,35, and the 2 others are 1,85.
Just before burning I click the preview arrow, in the window I click each of the four titles to see if it's correct. 3 movies are playing in the original size. The 4th one plays with "preview in wide screen" written in green on the bottom right of the window.
So, the movie seems anamorphic and flattened.
Why just one of four is like that, and what is the clue.
    Thanx for answering
    Steve

UPDATE: It seems that my problem has nothing to do with TOAST. I can't seem to burn anything at all. As soon as it starts to burn (whether in TOAST or the through OSX) the computer just shuts off. I've never had a problem like this. I have no idea what the problem could be!

  • Rendering Workspace Before Burning a DVD

When I first bring in video to the workspace and timeline I always render the workspace. This gets me nice smooth playback during the editing process and I get the nice green line in the timeline. After editing the green line turns to red so do I need render the workspace again, get the green line before burning the DVD? Does rendering the workspace have any impact on DVD quality?

As Steve points out, the Rendering is basically for viewing. When one calculates the time to Render, prior to Export/Share vs any timesaving, the total times should be a wash, or very nearly so. The quality will not be any different.
    Good luck,

  • How do I create Themes/Chapters in my video before burning to DVD so that Scenes can be selected when DVD is loaded to player?

How do I create Themes/Chapters in my video before burning to DVD so that Scenes can be selected using on screen icons when DVD is loaded to player?

"I don't know what you mean by this. There are no chapter markers in FCP." - you puzzle me by this! Yave You ever made some DVDees after editing in FCP 7? Every chapter in the timeline could be transfered to DVD Studio Pro, and then used in DVD navigation. This is very important feature, decause you don't have to lookfor some parts of your video while creating navigation! Less work - more joy! Another downscore of FCPX!

  • How can i find my errors during project validation before burning my project

How Can I find the errors during the project validation before burning the project??

Follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • Do I need to convert my AAC files before burning an audio CD?

I import all my music CDs into iTunes 9 as AAC. When I want to burn a playlist onto a CD as an audio CD, do I have to manually convert my the file into an AIFF format before burning a CD? I think I read that regular CD players cannot play songs that are in AAC format and must be in AIFF format. The CD will be played on a regular car CD player.

Do I need to convert my AAC files before burning an audio CD?
    No.
Simply selecting *Audio CD* in the Burn window is all you need to do.
