You should create the playlists in the manner/order you want them in iTunes before you put them on the iPod.
Once on the iPod, you can only create "on the go" playlists, and that's not really what you need I think.

The first songs i've downloaded and synced with my new touch have created ghost songs.  They are only on my computer in itunes once but appear on my ipod twice, one copy that won't play.  I can't delete them.  I've tried unticking all the music that was on the ipod via itunes and re-syncing, which in theory should delete all music from my ipod.  It does except for the 5 ghost songs.   So at present I have no music on ipod except the 5 ghost songs.   Has anyone got any ideas how I can get rid of these?
I had no problems with my ipod touch 4th, which I had for years.   Any help would be great.

Me or my pc can't see my songs, but they are still on my Ipod.
I've connected my Ipod to my pc, and suddenly there were no songs left, but when I checked it, was the memory still full, like before.
I've disconnected my Ipod and suddenly there were also no songs on my Ipod aswell.
    please help me!!

"There should be a solution I think"
Yes, to restore the iPod and reload the songs with whatever program you use to put songs on the iPod.
How do you manage to use iPod Agent to transfer songs to the iPod since this is what it says in the iPod Agent FAQ?
"iPod Agent is not a music manager. It does not provide the ability to organize your music and transfer it to your iPod. Apple's own iTunes does a great job of this and thus we don't see a reason to try to duplicate it's functionality. iPod Agent is meant to work hand-in-hand with iTunes."
If you don't use iTunes, what "library" do you use?

after ios 5 the ipod that changed to music shows all my songs but they are greyed out and will not play

did uncheck all music and resynced afterwards. Got all my music back on the phone. Next morning, the phone had greyed out 1/3 of the songs all by itself. Seems to have something to do with syncing over wifi. No solution yet other than resyncing all my playlists one by one,
Combined with a battery that drained 5% every 5 minute before I reset the network settings, I am not impressed with Apple's premature launch of their new os. This is what beta testing is for, folks. The iPhone should be done with the growing pains. Shame.

    The help menu is correct.

  • Is there a DJ app for the Ipad that will read the "start" and "stop time" setting for each individual song, as they are set in the song Options screen in Itunes?

Is there a DJ app for the Ipad that will read the "start" and "stop time" setting for each individual song, as they are set in the song Options screen in Itunes? The Ipod Touch, by itself does not allow cross-fading, therefore when the stop time is edited short, the song jusst truncates then goes to the next song. I tried the DJay ap and while it would crossfade, it would NOT read the song settings for the stop marker. So now I want to try and Ipad and see if there is an app that will READ the Itune stop settings within the song. I do NOT want an app that will allow me to DO the stop marker. I want an app that will READ the stop marker from the song as it is set in Itunes.

Itunes provides the option for setting the Start and Stop times of each music track.  However, the start and stop times do not synchronize to the iPhone.  I don't understand why this option is even available as it doesn't work when listening to music on the phone.  I have not found another application that will support the start and stop time markets.  I have searched quite a bit for this but can't find anything.  I hope we can find something.

  • Apple says  Reminders works with Outlook, but I can't find where the lists are displayed in Office or Outlook  once they are synced.

Apple says  Reminders works with Outlook, but I can't find where the lists are displayed in Office or Outlook  once they are synced. Any suggestions?

I'll guess you've already discovered the answer to this, but just in case:
Reminders works with Outlook tasks by syncing with iCloud, or through Exchange. You can't sync iOS Reminders with Outlook Tasks via USB/iTunes (like you can do with Notes, Calendar, Contacts).
So the marketing material on Reminders is a little misleading in that it's not specific enough -- there is no syncing without one of those intermediary systems mentioned above.
On a side note, syncing Tasks/Reminders via iCloud is not very good in my opinion:
Requires that you sync to the cloud, even if you have no other use for storing personal data in the cloud.
Requires that the iCloud Control Panel be installed on your PC (not sure about Mac).
After syncing, you'll find new Calendar and Task groups called "iCloud" have been created in Outlook. The calendar groups appear to be created even if you're only syncing Tasks/Remminders (not sure why).
Reminders are stored in the new group (noted above) called "iCloud" rather than in your default Tasks group. This seems to me to be a sort of "parallel" sync, rather than a true sync with Outlook. There are oter implications of your synced tasks being in the new group that I won't go into here, but you can search the interwebs to learn more.
In my own case, I tried iCloud syncing, decided that I didn't like it for the reasons stated above, and then uninstalled (Control Panel and new Outlook groups) with no apparent ill effects.
Though I don't guarantee you'll have the same results, it might be worth a try to see if it suits your purposes.

  • In random mode i tunes stops some songs before they are finished.  How do I fix that?

In random mode, itunes stops some songs before they are finished.  How do I change the ending point of a song in itunes?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • Would apple consider unlocking phones once they are old?

    Hey Apple and community,
first post here, long time reader.
Recently in my home we bit the bullet and decided to say bye bye to a couple of iphone 3gs' we have upgraded to 2xiphone 5's and and iphone 4. As we do a lot of travelling I have paid to have these genuinely factory unlocked to use alternative sim cards and networks.
the 3GS's are now effective paperweights. The cost of unlocking them is roughly $100  total (AT&T US and Rogers CA). the phones wont sell for this and I would love to donate them to charity or someone who cannot afford a smart phone.
I think it would be very cool if Apple considered unlocking phones once they are a certain age ie 5 years old. It seems a waste that phones would go in the bin (trash) when they are obsolete by our standards but probably very cool and modern by someone else's. At the very least its pro reuse reduce recycle.
What do you think? Would Apple go for it?
    Cheers,

I didn't check AT&T but I did check Rogers and it was $50 so I assumed the other fifty was AT&T. Perhaps they had two Rogers phones. I don't know. If AT&T doesn't charge then it's not so harsh of them after all.
I'm not sure that they don't. However, I've never heard that they do and I couldn't find anything that says they do. Of course, it would hardly be the first time a large company has made it difficult to find some of the less pleasant details on their website.

  • I have an iphone 4. Recently I have issues with certain apps closing immediately once they are open. ie Email. Tried re-booting entire thing and still having issues. Any one else having this issue or a fix for it?

Delete background Apps from memory and then Reset.
To Delete background Apps, double click Home button, in the bar at bottom, hold down on an App Icon until the minus sign appears, tap all the minus signs, until all background Apps are cleared from memory. Then Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to restart itself, ignor the 'slide to power off' let the iPhone restart itself. Usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons.

Actually it depends on the Bandwidth of the network they will be using. You can see a list of tech specs on the iPad website.

I have an iPhone 5s and in my iTunes music library have the songs checked that I want downloaded onto my phone. Instead of doing this, it is syncing all songs whether they are checked or not even tho I have the "sync only checked songs" box checked. So basically it's syncing all of the songs when I just want the checked ones on. This is very frustrating.

When your device is connected, check the tabs at the top ("Summary" "Apps" "Music," etc. Under the Music one, check to see if "Sync Music>entire music library" is checked. If it is, that may be why all the songs are syncing.
