Organizing tracks on nano ipod

I need help with how to organize tracks. I downloaded a book from cd's (free from library by the way) and I don't know how to get it in order on my nano. Thanks! for any suggestions! KR in FL

I want to find out how to load individual tracks (instead of entire folders or artists) from the library to my ipod nano. If that is not possible, then can I at least get help deleting individual tracks from my song list on my ipod nano??? Are you manually manging your music? In other words, do you have the Manually manage music and videos option ticked from under your iPod's Summary tab? I only ask because it sounds like you are trying to manually remove tracks from your iPod.
Another option is to set your iPod up to sync only checked songs and movies by enabling this option from under the Summary tab. Then make sure each track you wish to sync to your iPod has a tick mark next to it in your main iTunes library. If you don't want it synced over, remove the tick mark.

No, only the iPod Touch, iPad and iPhone iOS devices are able to contact iCloud where the tracking takes place.

When I connect my iPod touch to my stereo, I cannot skip tracks using my iPod or the stereo controls.

Nano ipod does not work in universal docking station but larger ipod does

My partner has a large ipod and I have a nano ipod. he can connect to the universal docking station and listent o music through the sound system but when I connect the nano ipod using the adaptor supplied with my nano ipod it does not recognise it even though it clicks in place as it is supposed to do. I also can not recognise my tracks on the ipod on the computer where the tracks had originally been transferred from, do you think the connector in my ipod has been damaged and is now not working?
I don't have any problems charging from the computer thopugh or listening to what is on it.
Can anyone help?

I have a similar but not quite the same issue. I have a toshiba tecra m3 laptop with windows xp pro. When I have the "enhanced usb driver" enabled under device configuration for my computer, my ports operate fine with usb 2.0 devices at full speed, but when I plug in my ipod it says that it is unrecognized.
If I disable the enhanced driver, then the ports dumb-down to usb 1.0, my ipod works fine with itunes but is a bit slow and other devices (like an external dvd burner) operate at slow speeds.
Also, whenever I plug in my ipod windows pops a box saying it would work faster if I plugged it into a usb 2.0 port. How helpful.
Anyone else experiencing this kind of thing?

I have a generation 5 Nano iPod. I have created Genius playlists and want to sync them to my iPod. How do I do this, as they are not shown in my library when syncing my music.

I have a generation 5 Nano iPod. I have created suggested playlists from the iTunes store using Genius. I want to move these playlists into the playlists in my library so they can be synced to my iPod. I don't seem to be able to do this, and can only listen to these Genius playlists on my computer. How do I transfer these?

On a 5th gen nano, you can actually create and listen to Genuis playlists on the iPod.
You can also set up automatic syncing to include Genius Playlists.
In iTunes, if the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar. In the sidebar, the Genuis playlists that you create are shown under GENIUS (not PLAYLISTS).
If you use automatic syncing, you set up the iPod's Music screen in iTunes (where the Sync Music checkbox is located). Genius playlists are shown on the iPod's Music screen, under Playlists, where you can select (checkmark) them as items to be synced to the iPod and maintained by iTunes.
If you use the manual method (with the Manually manage music and videos setting), there is no way to include the actual Genius playlists. However, you can create a new playlist manually on the iPod using iTunes. Then, drag the songs from a Genius playlist to that playlist on the iPod.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion. Have you failed to do this?
If so, not good, you can transfer itunes purchases from the ipod: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases

Not possible, and since the Restrictions Passcode is included with your iPhone's backup, you must restore the iPhone as a new iPhone or not from the backup.

Thanks Bob, I don't know why but it all of a sudden worked a few days later. It's a mystery but at least problem solved.

When you connect ipod nano to your computer (using the standard usb cord), open itunes if it doesn't open automatically. You should see your ipod tab in the upper right corner of i-tunes. Click on that, and click on music. At the bottom of that screen, click Sync Ipod, and it will begin syncing all i-tunes music.

5th generation iPod Nano - iPod syncs with my iTunes and I can see it in iTunes, but when I try to move a song from my iTunes to the iPod I get an error message "Cannot by synced, Unknown error occurred (1039). System works fine with my 4th generation iPod Nano. I'm afraid to "RESET" my iPod because I may not be able to restore my music and videos afterwards.
