Organizing videos into "playlists"

I have synched about 150 dance videos to my iPhone 3G OK. BUT I can't figure out how to group them into "playlists" such as Samba or West Coast Swing. Any ideas?

  • Is there any way to incorporate music videos into playlists on iPhone in iOS 6?

I was previously able to mark videos as music or more recently music videos in iTunes, then manually make playlists using those videos and have them included in playlists in my iPhone 3GS. Now I have an iPhone 4S with the latest ittunes and iOS 6 and I can't seem to do it? Why on earth has apple decided that music videos should not be able to be added to playlists. The switch to a completely bare bones video app with no sorting or playlists and no integration into the music is ridiculous. Apple are you listening.

Nope, not unless you are a software wizard and write your own code to do the transfer.

  • HT2729 is there a way to catalog my videos into playlists on my ipad? I would like to put workouts in one folder, movie titles by type in one, etc ????

I have kids movies, family movies, etc... as well as my workout videos that I have purchased elsewhere and added to my video library.
Is there anyway to create folders, or libraries for video so that I can organize my Iturnes as well as my iPad?

As far as I can tell, they are correctly tagged. I have all the correct show names, season numbers and episode numbers. What I do have, however, is each season has an Episode ID shared between them (westwing1, gameofthrones2, etc), as this was the fix that fixed another sorting issue I had previously.
Is it possible I should just clear the Episode ID field on each video?

  • HT2729 Is there a way to store videos into a separate album right after you shoot it on iPhone camera?

Is there a way to store videos into a separate album right after you shoot it on iPhone camera?
Finding videos in iPhone photo album requiers you to search through everything on your album. Is there a way to create separate video album or have them automatically save to a dedicated video album?
It's a pain finding videos when you use the camera so much and as it is I'm constantly organizing the photos.

Not even an app that might do this?

  • Organizing videos and movies in iTunes

I have a lot of videos that I want to watch on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Is there a way to organize these videos into folders or anything like it in iTunes? I've tried naming the same album name for a bunch of related videos, nothing happened, my movies library on iTunes is still unorganized. Please help.

What's the difference between playlists and playlists' folders??
you can place various playlists into a playlist folder.
And since my iPad haven't arrived yet, how will I see them on it? Will I see folders and then access them to choose which video I want to play? Please help.
we don't have the iPad in Germany yet - go check out the iPad forum. i can tell you that on an iPod Touch you would find a separate entry for the playlist folder under playlists.

  • Dividing a video into tracks

Im loving watching music videos on my iPod. My problem is that I have a few DVDs of music videos and when I put one (a DVD) on my iPod, all of the videos count as one track.
I would like to be able to skip to certain videos whenever I want. Is this possible, to break up one track into several, at certain places? Any help would be appreciated.
I am using DVD Decrypter & Videora.

If you have QTime Pro and it has the same capabilities under Windows as it has on a Mac, then it has the capability to "cut" your video into segments which can them be saved as individual files which I assume could then be placed in a single playlist.
If I were doing it, I would first duplicate the original file and then work on the duplicate file in case of mistakes. Basic strategy is to select all segments but the first video you wish to keep and save it as a secondary file. You then cut the segments just saved from the first file and save what is left as your first music video. You then open the secondary file and repeat the same operation until the last secondary file simply contains you last music video.

  • How do I use my HDV camera to capture VCR video into Premiere Elements?

Hello all, I am trying to put VHS video into my computer. I have read that my Canon HV30 can act as an interface between my VCR and my computer. I am supposed to connect my VCR to my HV30 and my HV30 to the computer through firewire. My question is this, how do I connect my VCR to my HV30? Which port on my HV30 is a video input? It has a yellow connection named "AV/(headphones logo)", and one called "component" that looks like a mini firewire port. It also has a red connection named "mic". The other connections are the typical firewire port and such, so it cant be those.? Thanks

I'm not sure if your camcorder can work as a pass-through between your VHS and computer. Fewer and fewer camcorders have this feature.
Is your camcorder able to record input from another video source? That's kind of the test. If you camcorder can record from your VCR then it can likely also serve as a pass-through.
But, sadly, this is one of the features that camcorder manufacturers have stopped including with their cams.

  • I have been trying to import VHS video into iMovie via a Hollywood Dazzle bridge.  Did not have trouble until I upgraded to mavericks.  I have a mac book pro, 10.9.1, iMovie 10.0.2.  Says it is recording, but when I go to check, it says the file is empty.

I have been trying import VHS video into iMovie via a Hollywood Dazzle bridge.  I have been successful doing this in the past, but now it is not working.  I have a mac book pro, 10.9.1, (mavericks), iMovie 10.0.2.  Everything in iMovie looks like it is working.  It reads "recording" in the upper left hand corner of the pane while the video is playing.  When I stop the process to check on my clip it says that the file is empty.  The only thing that has changed since I did it successfully is that I upgraded to mavericks from whatever I had previously.  My system is about one year old.  Any suggestions?

    Hey, Clinton,
Thanks for your help!  I was able to go to iMovie 9.0.9 and import video.  I was still curious as to why it didn't work in version 10.0.2, so I contacted Apple tech support.  They were't sure at first as to why it wouldn't work, so they had me delete iMovie 10.0.2 and then re-install it just to see if something had gone wrong when it upgraded.  That didn't change anything.  In the end, they determined that 10.0.2 doesn't support the Hollywood Dazzle DV bridge.  But I have a workaround path from them that I will share so that it's possible to import to 9.0.9, then move it to 10.0.2.
         1.  Open iMovie 9 (finder/applications/iMovie 9.0.9
         2.  Import from Dazzle Bridge to iMovie 9, note which event you are importing the clips into
         3.  Close iMovie 9
         4.  Open iMovie 10 (probably in the dock)
         5.  File/Import Media...navigate to home(this was my name, on the left side of iMovie, under Favorites)/Movies/iMovie events.  Find the event folder that contains your Dazzle clips (tip-try sorting by date modified to look at recent events.)
         6.  Select the clips and import.  Click the blue "Import Selected" button on the bottom right.
You may get a message that some files cannot be imported.  Click continue import.  It's a little glitchy.  It imports your clip, and also makes a copy of it, too.  On the copy, the audio is normal, but the video is choppy.  In any case, you would delete the copy, anyway.
Hope this additional information helps somebody else.  Thanks again, Clinton for helping me!

  • Please help, I am trying to split a HD mp4 video into two parts using Quicktime 10.2

Please help, I am trying to split a HD mp4 video into two parts using Quicktime 10.2, running Mountain Lion. I use trim then export but it doesn't give the movie option as a format. What would you suggest i do?

I'm not sure why you're using a FAT32 drive, but using ExFAT instead of FAT32 would be a better overall choice as it doesn't have the 4 Gig limit.

  • I am having problems with my music collection, after burning all of my music to the computer I organized it into folders and placed it in the iTunes Folder. Starting on a new computer now. I can get my music from old computer?

I am having problems with my music collection, after burning all of my music to the computer I organized it into folders and placed it in the iTunes Folder. As of now i realize this was a mistake. Starting on a new computer now. I cant get my music to transfer from the itunes folder on the old computer? I keep getting error "Can't Read from the source file or disk." Whenever I got to folder properties its always checked read only. But when i play the song it works just fine. Im sure this is just because I added music into itunes folder but is there anyway to fix it?

WMA files are 'window media audio' files, which is a Microsoft format. If you want to add them to your iTunes library on your Mac then you will need to convert them into a compatible format first. If you still have your windows machine then iTunes for Windows can convert them from WMA to MP3 format : https://discussions.apple.com/message/24158701#24158701
Or try a search for, for example, 'convert wma to mp3' to find programs to convert them.

  • I would like to know how to put my .mp4 music videos into the .....

    Hello
I finally learned how to turn my music videos into a format that will play on my ipod and I am excited as **** about the whole thing. My one problem is I can't seem to put the music videos into the music video section. I would like to put my music videos in the music video section and I plan on making some of my favorite movies into .mp4 and keep them in the movies section. I would also like to know if I can have different folders for my movies? probably not eh? I guess they might just have to be in one big pile. That's ok I guess. So what's with the music video section? It would be nice to put them there. I guess while I am waiting for a response I am just going to convert the music videos and put them in the movies section..
Also I would like to share what program I am using to convert the files .. it's called
    " WinAVI iPod/PSP/3GP/MP4 Video Converter "
And it works great! Someone on my Facebook account told me about it. I tried to ask people here what I should use but I don't think I got a straight answer ( either that or I am mildly ******** or something )
One more question. How to I put my pictures into separate folders on my ipod?
    Aaron

    Hi everyone !
please forget about the pictures question because I figured that out ok !!
I just need to know if it is possible to put my .mp4 music videos in the music video section of iTunes and my iPod. Like I said I want to just put full length movies in the movie section. And I would like to have my movies in maybe separate folders like I said. One for Anime, One for Animation ect ect ..
ALSO I am wondering can I make my Windows Media Player Classic the default for .mp4 files? I tried to do that but it was giving me some weird error message
when I try and make it the default for .mp4 I get this message
" Windows Media Player Classic does not have enough privileges to change file formats. Please click on " Modify " button To Get Administrator rights. "
Does this mean that only Apple programs should be used to view these files?

  • How can I convert DVD- video into Apple's format so that it can be played and streamed from my Mac?

How can I convert DVD- video into Apple's format so that I can play the content on my Mac and also stream it to my Apple TV? A few years ago, I transferred all of my home videos onto DVD but now would really like to put these onto my Mac and stream them through Apple TV to watch on the "big screen". Any advice would be most welcome!! Thanks

    MPEG Streamclip.
Apple do not have their "own" format. You need to convert your DVDs to H.264 though.

  • When I import new home videos into my iTunes and edit the names it creates duplicate Library's on my Apple Tv. How can I stop this from happening each time I edit a name in iTunes home videos??

I am having an issue with duplicate Libraries showing up in my Home Sharing "Home Videos".  It happens when I import home videos into iTunes and change the names of the files. How do I avoid this from happening and delete the duplicate libraries?

The sort fields should generally be empty unless you've putting in custom values to sort solo artists by their surnames. You can apply common changes to thousands of tracks at once, just don't apply the wrong change because there is no undo.
It is a good idea to backup before undertaking large scale changes. See this backup tip for a suggested approach.

Non-destructive editing is an important feature of iMovie HD 6.
iMovie preserves the entire copy of every clip you place into your movie in case you change your mind at a later stage.
So, if you have cut out one minute from a 45 minute clip, iMovie will have stored two complete copies of that clip. This is why is helps to set import as 3-5 minute clips rather than one huge chunk. As DV runs at 13GB per hour your project files can get very big.
One workaround is to complete the editing of a section of the movie, then export that to Quicktime: highlight the clip/s, choose Share-Quicktime, turn on Share selected clips only, and choose Full Quality from the pop-ip menu.
Once you have saved the stand-alone clip to your hard drive, you can re-import it into your project using the File/Import command, and delete the original long clip/s from the project.
